Hiding the defects on the top by reproducing the groove pattern already present on the drawer faces and the legs was a strike of genius! Excellent video!
I know the stop motion, multiple angles (while making sure you’re not blocking what you want us to see) plus adding and incorporating the same in a way that matches the sped-up parts… I know it makes everything take SIGNIFICANTLY longer, but it’s so satisfying and enjoyable to watch/listen to, so thank you 🙏🏼
I want to just point out his beautiful camera work and editing. Some of these shots are so artfully done with the shallow depth of field and layout, along with the transitions using audio or a continuous movement is just so GOOD. Creating two pieces of art here!
This is probably my favourite furniture restoration video. The wood is far prettier than any paint, that hardware came out gorgeous and the way you "hid" the defect on the top by matching the groove pattern is brilliant! There are many other UA-cam furniture restorers that could learn a lot from you. Very well done!
Yea I thought the nautical theme was weird for the piece, maybe it's just the best they could fine but something black with darker jewel tones would fit a bit better. The dresser makes me think of mid-century cocktail parties somehow so I thought that would've worked.
No wonder you're so good at this! The furniture sees you coming and the screws twist themselves out, the fittings just fall off and you push the nail down with your hand. Why can't I ever get that lucky? You are a good teacher, even if you can't see your students.
the wood grain is absolutely beautiful! i'm a 5th generation woodworker, and it's all about the beauty of the natural wood. thank you very much for demonstrating how beautiful natural wood is.
Beautiful editing, and beautiful final product. I love how you fixed the damage on the top by routing out, grooves that reference the detail in the legs. Very clever.
I have run out of adjectives for your videos, so I'll keep this simple. Your videos are the BEST on You Tube!! The end results are always stunning, and the nature scenes included are the icing on the cake. You are SO creative....in everything that you do. Amazing!!!!
Excellent solution to diminish the damaged section on the top. Honestly, the addition of the lines improved the piece in its entirety. I hope you plan to work in design or art somehow. Such a gift!
YAY! A new video! Every time there’s a point where I go OMG what is he doing, and then, OMG! Look what he did! Another beautiful piece - love that this is a light one - and beautiful video. ❤️☮️
I absolutely love the design of the drawer fronts on this piece. Such a unique treatment of what could have been a BORING piece. Love, love, love it. As always, your work is impeccable. Thanks so much for sharing your work with us.
This piece is incredibly beautiful! You bought it at an amazing price because it was not appreciated! GORGEOUS! The bronze handles, the carved details, the duck tails and the drawer fronts are precious. I love your creativity... you made the damaged area dissappear and the carving looks like it was originally there! Thanks so much for sharing
I actually got teary eyed seeing the vast improvement from ugly to really beautiful. Adding the grooves was brilliant. I wish I lived near you so I could buy your pieces. Well done ❤️
Every time I watch one of your videos, I am absolutely astounded! You are truly the most talented refinisher, builder, craftsman and all else that goes along with what you do, that I have ever had the privilege of just seeing your work. Your talent is unending. I am always so grateful to view your videos. I am watching a master at work. This dresser is beautiful now. I also love the stop motion, it makes me smile. Thank you for sharing your time and talent with us. Take care, stay safe.
I love this piece. I'm not generally a fan of mid-century modern style, but this one pushes all my "yes" buttons. And your work brought out its natural beauty. It's perfect. Thank you.
Oh my gosh - talk about turning a sow's ear into a silk purse. You did an incredible restoration. The inside drawer lining was a true "piece de la resistance." This is far better than new, ya done good!!
Aw man yet again. Fantastic. Always a joy watching you create and your video editing is always superb. Every single week you catch me out with a magazine page or some image that I think is real and then you mix bondo on it. Every Single Week! Funny
Not only do you do an excellent job on the furniture you restore, excellent job on making the videos putting everything together😊 thanks for sharing your skills with us your yours.
Wow, you really brought that dresser back to life. Repeating the grooves on the top of the dress was brilliant. Good call an leaving the red on the inside of the drawer and your choice of fabric was prefect. It such a wonderful surprise when you open the drawing. An the hard ware...what can I say but mid-century hardware just has that "cool" factor. Amazing instructional video.
Andy, another stunning piece of work! Glad you are getting sponsors. I can see where you got your "creativity" to fix the top. The legs and the drawers gave you the clue. I would have never figured that one out. You are simply brilliant. You cut the fabric to the exact width, and allowed a little bit to the length. Just to avoid the problem of cutting the corners inside the drawer. Thumbs up on that one, I don't have that kind of patience. The fabric store had a beautiful selection of prints. Any one you would had selected would have looked very nice. I always look forward to watch your videos, they are a pleasure to watch. 🥰🥰🥰
So excited!! I always look forward to another video by modern makeovers! You are incredibly talented and crafty, taking ruined furniture and creating masterpieces with them. I love watching you change boring furniture and making them beautiful!! You're a true craftsman at his best!!! Thank you for sharing these wonderful videos 😊
Always enjoy that your videos are self explanatory without unnecessary chit chat. Always informative, well conceived, and clear when showing products and techniques. Very well done.
Well-made dresser of solid wood, well-finished/repaired and shiny solid brass pulls. Pshew...for $25 bucks you restored a gem! The material on drawer bottoms is genius! Good on you. 🎉🎉😊
Adding the grooves across the top to disquise the damage was truly inspired. I would suggest adding a coat of Mod Podge over the fabric drawer liners to protect it from accidents and make it easier to clean, etc. Another beautiful restoration!
Another stunning job! I love that you left the inside red because when you pulled those drawers out and I saw every inch painted I thought oh my goodness the amount of work stripping and sanding is insane but you made it work and it looks fantastic😍
Andy, I love your channel on so many levels...the restorations are always so thoughtfully done, the filming (and all the neat effects), and the sounds. I am 70 years old and I am considering starting a UA-cam channel. I do crochet (amigurumi patterns specifically), and your whole process is one of my major inspirations.
Love this piece!! Love that you kept it natural to showcase the beautiful wood color and grain and it was very clever of you to cover up that spot on the top by matching the detail of the drawers and legs. 👍👍👏👏💖💖
Picking my jaw up off the floor! I love MCM furniture and that one I would have left on the side of the road! HOLY COW! You're Brilliant! Beautiful Job!
very creative solution to the damage issue! i like this piece, but i also think maybe it could use a darker stain on top of the existing finish in order to blend in all those different colored wood panels. they would have used toned lacquer in the factory to blend it
Very cool, another classic brought back to life. Loves the banding detail on the top that mimics the banding design on drawers and legs while hiding the damage to the surface
Other furniture flippers just basically sand the piece, fix little holes and repaint it, which many times might be enough but you are master carpenter and moreover a mega creative one! 👏👏👏👏👏👏
This is so beautiful to watch, the before, the transformation, the ideas and love in between and especially the after! Very well done 👏 Thanks for this almost ad free video with original sound! 😊
Every piece you work on becomes a work of art. I only wish I were as talented. Excellent editing to top it all off. Love love love this natural beauty.
I appreciate that a good video doesn't require a lot of talk, and do enjoy the variation in speed and action sounds. I also never tire of seeing old things get new life. This piece I particularly would love in my own home. I suspect it and I are the same vintage 😂. But as a Mom and a quilter that uses rotary cutters almost daily....it is a push tool, not a pull tool. Safety First.
You have a great 👁eye for furniture! You have really intuitive creativity for what each piece 🗄can be! So happy😄 you brought this back to LIFE! It is BEAUTIFUL. I Want It!!!!!💗
Beautifully done! Groove on top fits in perfectly, and it’s so pretty just taking everything back to a wood finish with the polished hardware. Great job 👍
That was a super satisfying video, I liked the use of stop motion and your camera angles are on point. Standouts for me was taking the existing design and incorporating it into the top, the use of fabric in the drawer was well chosen and stylish and the drawer handles matched the tone of the wood perfectly. I really enjoy your thought process and aesthetic as your finished product makes my mouth water.
Your videos are so good, I sometimes forget to say, my dear, you are truly a master craftsman and artist! I get so excited every time I see you have a new video out! LOVE your work!!

That's what Andy is, a Genius. 👍😃👍
That's restoring mate...😉
Nice 👍
Stroke of genius.
Could not agree more with Geolog66, what a brillant fix!
Absokutely delighted that you "simply" stripped it and enhanced its natural wood qualities. This grain is a beauty ❤
I love how you've started incorporating stop motion in your videos. It gives them such a quirky, chipper sort of vibe. ❤️
Yes!!
Yes! 😂 it also makes me think of Gumby!
Reminds me of that one guy who does woodworking videos in exclusively stop motion
@@codenamefirestarter7478 who is that?

Да,очень понравилось👍
The stop motion is my favorite 😊
Absolutely awesome

I couldn’t agree with you more!! There’s one video where he tests hot water with his finger and goes “ouch “ l couldn’t stop laughing 😂
I thought this too! Brings these videos to the next level 🥰
I love the stopmotion looking parts
Agreed. The beauty of the video kept me watching.

What a beautiful wood grain. Not a fan of the interior just taste wise but it’s good to explore a little :D
Yeah, I personally think maybe a darker stain would have tied it together better, but that's just my opinion.
Yea I thought the nautical theme was weird for the piece, maybe it's just the best they could fine but something black with darker jewel tones would fit a bit better. The dresser makes me think of mid-century cocktail parties somehow so I thought that would've worked.
I bet when the piece was painted red, someone was really excited about the color, but it was definitely time to let it go.
I agree - I’m not a fan of the red inside the drawers. I wish they had been stripped to match the exterior.
No wonder you're so good at this! The furniture sees you coming and the screws twist themselves out, the fittings just fall off and you push the nail down with your hand. Why can't I ever get that lucky? You are a good teacher, even if you can't see your students.
Your editing and the shots you get are just masterful. Really makes this a pleasure to watch.
Not only are you an incredible woodworker, your videography is top notch as well!
The dresser is beautiful! Well done!
You are creative, artistic and super talented! Love the stop motion
Voted most original camera angles and best video editing of all restoration channels 👏👏👏
My favorite channel
My favorite too! Fantástico!
Agree!
Same!
This is what results when you combine talent, skill, artistry and patience. You are on a whole different plane. Stunning! ♥️
the wood grain is absolutely beautiful! i'm a 5th generation woodworker, and it's all about the beauty of the natural wood. thank you very much for demonstrating how beautiful natural wood is.
My dear, you're making furniture AND movies! All the extra little scenes and effects are so well done, thank you!
Not sure what I admire more: this guy’s video editing skills or his wood working skills
This video is so masterfully filmed and edited 🥹😭💕💕
Again a beautiful piece. I love your channel as much for the quality of your videos: no unnecesarry music ; as for the content very creative 👍😎🐕🦺🐈⬛
this dresser is like business on the outside, party on the inside... great idea putting the grooves in the top!
😍
Andy, the turtle fabric won me over keeping the paint on the inside of the drawers. Your creativity is impressive! Beautiful dresser. 👏👍❤😍
The stop motion effects are *chef’s kiss*
Beautiful editing, and beautiful final product. I love how you fixed the damage on the top by routing out, grooves that reference the detail in the legs. Very clever.

As always…stunning!!! Both the woodworking as the editing!
It's gorgeous. Putting those grooves in the top was a genius move. Your perfectionism always pays off in the end. 💯🌹🌼
How fortunate the top was damaged so you could match the groove detailing. Just WOW. Bloody WOW. 😍
I agreed!
He is like the greatest surgeon in furniture world

Thanks for bringing us such good content! (Love the stop motion moments especially)
As always the final look is amazing!!! 🌟
The little bits of stop motion you put in are always my favorite! But I know they’re probably the hardest part lol

Another great makeover. You are my favorite! I absolutely love your creativity! I just wish you posted more frequently!
Great work!!! Reviving beauty is happiness, isn't it?🌸
I needlepoint watching video's. BUT, when I see your make over's I put down the needlepoint and watch. You did a great job, as always. BRAVO!
I get excited when you and Flipping Drawers post videos. Such quality content!
😮 wow what a beauty, thanks for giving her back her beauty, love the wood grain and the colour.
Excellent work again friend to say the least, have a nice day, Brian UK !!!😊😊😊
This is such a cute dresser, and the camouflaging detail you added to the top is genius.

Beautiful dresser you uncovered from underneath, great video
Can't remember how I bumped into your channel and now you are my second favorite channel right after Moriah Elizabeth
Great job! Loved that you kept the old hardware, so unique and gorgeous!

I really love the editing, and the sense of humor you add to your videos. I laughed so hard at the sound clip when you opened the container. x3
Glad you enjoyed!
Another absolutely perfect, beautiful restoration!!
Finally, a man willing to undo the heinous paint sins done to already nice pieces of furniture.
You have an absolute gift for seeing the potential in your projects. And the gloss on the INSIDE of the drawers! Amazing!!

Hi Andy, you’re so clever introducing the grooves on the top to hide the defect, matching the legs and drawers. Fantastic piece ❤️👍🏼❤️
Beautiful finish! I love the fabric choice, too. I never thought to use fabric as a drawer liner. 💕
Beautiful....the natural woodgrain is beautiful.
Every piece you work on becomes a work of art. I only wish I were as talented. Excellent editing to top it all off. Love love love this natural beauty.

This piece is so beautiful. It's fascinating to watch where you'll go with the restorations
I don't know what to say. I think you just have the touch 👏👏
This makeover is amazing. It was so creative to repeat the grooves on the top. Your videos are top notch. So enjoyable.
And again Andy, that was pure genius to add the three lines on the top. It looks like it was meant to be there. Beautiful work 👏🏼
I enjoy watching you put a special spin on each of your pieces. And your videos are always so entertaining!
I love your animation and the legs matching the top. Beautiful work.
You have a great 👁eye for furniture! You have really intuitive creativity for what each piece 🗄can be! So happy😄 you brought this back to LIFE! It is BEAUTIFUL. I Want It!!!!!💗
fantastic trick hiding the damage! you would never know it wasn't there before. Those handles are awesome!!
Beautifully done! Groove on top fits in perfectly, and it’s so pretty just taking everything back to a wood finish with the polished hardware. Great job 👍
Brilliant repair. I would never have thought of mimicking the detail from the legs and drawers.
You have so much vision and execute it beautifully every time!
Love how you hid the flaw on top with those groves! Very smart! Excellent job as always!
That was a super satisfying video, I liked the use of stop motion and your camera angles are on point. Wonderful transformation of this unit, it looks amazing. Absolutely gorgeous, thanks for allowing us to see you work it's such a pleasure.
Gorgeous as always! Your creative skills and video editing are both fabulous! I always look forward to your videos, they're so positive. 👍😀
You know your job is easier when screws and handles unscrew themselves! Love the outcome and your artistry. Great job!
Just exquisite. The top was genius!
I think painted furniture is just fine. But this piece should never have been painted. Just gorgeous. So glad you brought it back!
Your videos are so good, I sometimes forget to say, my dear, you are truly a master craftsman and artist! I get so excited every time I see you have a new video out! LOVE your work!!
