Those turned out gorgeous! You and Kendall together are hilarious and have quite the production line going when painting. Also, I love your tips throughout your videos. Successes and failures!
A welcome change from grey & black 😊 It looks shimmery in the light ❤ I agree the wood could have been made to look pretty but you did a fabulous job with the paint!
Yes I love warm tones over cool any day 😊 it was such a good candidate for a restore but you’re right I think it turned out pretty good! Thanks for watching ❤️
This was fantastic! Im also a flipper in Vancouver, but very new. I loved this colour and didnt realise its behrs rodeo tan! So funny cos i have a sample pot of this that i use for my tan washes! It works great. Its great to see it as one solid colour though. Its the reason i clicked on this video! Well done Holly!
Hi Kara, hope you’re well! We follow each other on ig, you’re one of the hobos ❤️ I occasionally chat in the group but I’m so bad at keeping up 😅 thank you so much you should use it! My client actually picked it out in a lineup of like 5 swatches I showed her, so she gets all the credit! ❤️
But also, do you ever have to green wash under it for redder woods? Because with fusion Algonquin I don’t have to (I think it’s got some green tones in it however) and it’s the only one that I’ve tried that i don’t have to green wash first on top of red wood, and it would be great to have another tan that works the same :)
Hear ya on it getting too cold. We're painting a desk, and a few bookcases, in a couple weeks. We are going to put a spray tent in the garage, and use a propane heater to warm the space before starting. Thanks for sharing!
Oh you have some great ideas! Love the barkeepers secrets! Hey from the Okanagan Valley BC … love anything French provincial ❤ omg your profit is legendary!
Gorgeous color!!! Somehow this color works on this French provincial piece. My mom has a similar set, this is giving me ideas...hahaha! Cheers from Montreal!!
After seeing the initial color on a flat surface I was less than... "hopeful" that the final appearance would be anything to write home about. It didn't look like something you'd want to see day after day. But THEN... Okay, I'll admit I was wrong. Somehow, Holly's magick turned that rather dated, boring dresser into a work of art! My compliments on your skills, dear. I'm impressed with your client's color selection and your talent with a paint sprayer -- I'm sure a little doggy enthusiasm was involved, as well? And kudos to Kendall for his willing participation. Very good work all around!
I had this exact same dresser and lost it in a flood…. The legs split and. I couldn’t be around the mold that accumulated in the insides…. Beautiful old dresser…. Mine was hard wood….actually it was Cherry wood…. And I bought it in 1962… and flooded in 2016…
Oh no! I’m so sorry that happened I can imagine how much mold there would have been, definitely not good for your health 🙁 that’s such a shame it must have been so treasured in your family especially since you bought it in 1962! They definitely don’t make them like they did back then. Hope this dresser was able to bring you a sense of nostalgia although I did paint it!
Im just starting to do this as a business myself. How did u come up w the prices of ur pieces? Thats the part im teally unsure of. I live in Southern Ontario, Canada.
Look on marketplace and see what other refinishers in your area are getting for their pieces! The sold filter is really helpful. But also kind of estimate what you’d have to do and how much time and materials, and the amount of skill/effort it takes to get to the final product! I don’t believe in paying yourself $x/hr because you’d be punishing yourself for being able to do something efficiently. Hope that kinda helps! My dms on instagram are open if you have other questions ❤️
Thank you! I agree with Lisa, try thinning out the paint with water , I typically do about 20% but some paints are thicker than others. And try playing with the airflow/volume knobs. If it’s still not spraying right I’d say take the whole gun apart and clean it really well and make sure there are no clogs 😊 hope that works!! ❤️
My husband has refinished furniture for many years…bugs are a problem in your spray , he has found really fine tipped tweezers can lift bugs off right away after spraying…spraying first thing in morning because the dew helps keeps bugs away until air warms up Spraying at night is worse for bugs, hope this helps
I shy away from French Provincial cuz they seem too girly or fussy. But this is gorgeous! I like the way you left the handles with some brown instead of making them bright gold.
Me too! They’re definitely a very specific style but if you’re going for a castle/princess look, it’s the go-to! This dresser specifically was a more toned down version which I loved 🥰 thank you! I really wanted to keep the brown in the handles while still making it look clean ❤️
The finish on this piece is flawless. Absolutely stunning. You and Kendall work so well together! Seeing you both paint the drawers was so satisfying.
Thank you!! Lol we have fun on the job ❤️😊

Thank you so much! Lol yes we have fun together, usually at each others expense 😂 but yes we definitely have a system in place to keep things moving!
Beautiful work. A tip for big pieces. Put them on caster, and you can move the sides around to paint them. 😊
The color with the hardware is perfect! A beautiful piece 🤩
Thank you! I love the antiquey look of the hardware ❤️
I love this color! It turned out great. I bet if you put little wood dollies under the dresser you could move it side to side in the tent.
Thank you Mallory! You’re right, I had them sitting right there I should have just done that 😂
The French dresser is less ornate than many. I prefer simple lines over ornate pieces. You did a wonderful job.
Thanks Amy, same here! I prefer this style over the regular French provincials I usually see ❤️
You did a great job with these two pieces. They complement each other perfectly as a beautiful set. Bravo! 👏👏👏
Thank you Patty I’m glad you think so too! ❤️

That's one heck of a profit! Looks great!
Thanks so much! ❤️

Good idea! Indoors you should have no problem especially with heating 😊 I still haven’t cleaned my area up to make space for my tent inside 😅
Absolutely gorgeous. You do beautiful work.

Thank you carol! ❤️
Love the color! I’m so tired of all the cold gray.
Right?? Warm neutrals are my fav 😍 Thanks Marcia!
Love the colors you used.
Thank you! My client chose this colour, she’s got a great eye ❤️

What brand of paint did you use. Color was rodeo tan? Came out beautiful!
I used behr scuff defense in a satin sheen :) thanks so much!

Would love to see your artistic side with some chalk painting, ombre and shadowing, etc
I’ve definitely wanted to do that but maybe when I find the perfect piece ❤️
You excell at the mechanical aspects for sure. I'm just curious. Thank you for your wonderful videos!@@hollysgarage
Simple but look good! Great job!
Thank you!!
Good job. They look great! Thanks
Thank you! ❤️
How do you keep drawers from sticking when you paint with them in the dresser?
The key is light coats! They shouldn’t stick 😊
Beautiful job. This is not my favorite style of furniture but it turned out really nice.
Thank you ❤️

This set looks awesome guys, great job!! 👍😍
Thank you so much! Neutrals are my favourite ❤️
Turned out beautiful !!
Thank you so much! 😊
Well done,beautiful!
Beautiful work!
Thank you!!
Came out great! I can't figure out my sprayer...it comes out all splattery...not a nice spray like yours. Ugh.
Maybe the paint isn't thin enough. I know you need to add water to thin it out. Try that ❤

Thanks Shawn ❤️☺️
Couldn't see it for a bit, but I love it beautiful work.
Thank you so much! 😊
You do amazing work 💪🏾💪💪🏾💪 keep on posting.
Thanks! I appreciate that 🥰
How long did it take to sell?
It was a commission piece so I had a buyer from the start ☺️
What product did you use for scratches?
I used Elmer’s wood filler and also Durhams water putty ❤️

It was a beautiful before, should have refinished or did a wash.
That would have looked really nice!
