His voice is so full of soul and wisdom.. like he's experienced so much pain that you can hear and feel it. It's so beautiful at the same time. It's sort of indescribable.
For a guy who wrote harmonically complex songs, I always thought this a real high point of Chris' solo stuff. Beautiful and complex harmonically , but sounds deceptively simple because you can sing the melody.through the changes. It's like all great jazz standards and Beatles songs.
Dave Kay this whole record is full of deceptively-simple, complex songs. Songs with so many unorthodox chord changes and left turns, anyone else would have left them a messy chord-salad. Pick up a guitar and play along... Miss you Chris ❤️

I remember the night they were performing in Detroit, I was listening to soundgarden all night (I was still in Kentucky, born and raised, but moved cross country, different story for another time) and I had this weird feeling like I felt his presence or something. And I felt a little emotional but I couldn’t pinpoint why. And the next day it’s all over the news that Chris had been found dead.. He was so unique with his vocals, and just his overall musical talent. He was a one-of-a-kind, and inspired so many of his peers that went on to become world wide famous before him unfortunately, but they found their fame with Black Hole Sun. RIP Chris, you always made me feel at peace, and helped me release my negative emotions in a more positive and productive manner. You’ve been the inspiration for millions and so many people have looked up to you for the path of recovery from addiction and alcoholism, including I myself. Much love, I hope you found peace wherever you are..

Considering Chris Cornell did the title song for the Casino Royale film, this song really has another 'Bondish-feel' that would have suited another Daniel Craig movie really well!
Especially the lyrics "She's going to change the world, But she can't change me" referring to Bond trying to find a long term relationship with someone who understands him although he will never back down from his Secret Agent status lifestyle :)

HOW was this NOT a big hit? When it first came out it had awesome drums, lyrics. Sound and vocals. The guitar has a sitar quality to it. Its one of my favorites. Were people expecting Soungarden? The Beatles proved thst change is the KEY to successful music. The drffetent time signatures , the sitar like guiar ? Was it just ahead of its time ? R.I.P Chris Cornell , u took a musical direction change that only those that understand the true beauty of music would get!! Brian Wilson did it also and it nearly destroyed him! On a side note but related, the same damn thhing happened to the Beastie Boys when the changed direction with " Pauls Boutique " ANOTHER album that was ahead of its time ! R.I.P Adam.....

Rest in peace, angel ❤️
Going to see him live tonight. Just getting in the mood. Awesome voice.
I seen him last weekend! he was amazing I couldn't believe how good he is live, hit every note perfectly
Edward Duffy im so sad i never seen him live and now he is deceased.I bett it was fantastic you are blessed
rip chris cornell, layne staley, and kurt kobain. what a time to be alive and witness them.
I’m always watching something, “Chris”. I love him like a brother. I miss him🌾 2:50
Rest In Peace Chris, maybe you've met Kurt and Layne somewhere in a better place... You are still one of the best and will be remembered
Andrew too
And Chester
He’d be with Chester, he wasn’t so close to Kurt Kurt was difficult to get along with. He chose to be with courtney because they both felt like the world was against them but in a different way than Chester and Chris. They were more stable more educated dare I say they had families that at that time were considered normal like my family hence my 30 year addiction but been clean since my abbususive mother died and now I see clearly what could have been if she’d not lived so long. I got a 1st at st Martins college where Damien hurst , Pulp Blur etc went but had no self belief no dream. Talent flounders if you had no mum or even a sister backing u. Kids need one person to believe in them then they will fly.
Kurt had nobody but his aunt did help a bit his mum /dad did too. He wasn’t kicked out for good aged 13. The british police found me a thousand miles away in Victoria stationer asleep outside the police station because I was frightened I’d get raped again or beaten robbed , even my shoes had been robbed. I found someone who took me in and put me in school. My mum said she had no missing daughter when police rang her. I was 13. Can you imagine what that felt like? Well I heard Black hole sun years later when I met the love of my life Michael Miller. Yup jimmy millers son. He was homeless in London when his dad was working with primal scream on Screamadelica I watched them record in Olympic. Bobby made me inject him because he had no clue how to back then. He had a habit but had Yes Men who did everything for him. Jimmy loved their musicality he gave rocks that stones feel but they
Should I write a book? Are any of you writers? I’m talking this to a friend now as I’m not good at typing but I lived with a lot of bands that were huge back then because I worked for the,m. I’m never a slag never slept with any of them i was with Michael till he died from his problems.
Please someone help me get Michael Miller jimmy Miller and my story out there. We seen so many amazing things partied with nirvana soundgarden Tad mudhoney loads of U.K. bands, backstreet boys ? Can anyone be interested in a 50 year old who lived alongside these guys?

RIP Mr. Cornell. This is My favorite of all your songs. Thank you. I'll listen to it for the rest of the week while grieve.
like the rest of us. heartbroken. I never thought he leave so soon.
The Late Chris Cornell R.I.P. Him and all his band mates, you know Audioslave, Soundgarden, Temple of the Dog, Mad Season, Center for Disease Control Boys, M.A.C.C. Alice Mudgarden. have made more Music Videos, Great Ones I must say than any other Rock Groups that I listen to. I'm 62 years old and I have watched 1000's of MTV, and all down the line of Music Video history till today. They have made the best ones and will go down in history for a very long time. Rock and Roll will go on forever!!! LOL, Have Fun and Rock on!!!
Considering Chris Cornell did the title song for the Casino Royale film, this song really has another 'Bondish-feel' that would have suited another Daniel Craig movie really well!
THAT'S TRUE HAHAHA
Especially the lyrics "She's going to change the world, But she can't change me" referring to Bond trying to find a long term relationship with someone who understands him although he will never back down from his Secret Agent status lifestyle :)
TheSmaxZonedElite some have to make a James Bond video with this one.
One of my favorite songs and videos! The Fall of 1999 one of the last times I was happy...
Me too but what was the video about?
me too
Me too, the Rock is almost dead now :(
People who were born in the 90s and experienced all of the years of the 90s are the most luckiest people in the universe.
Here I'm one of the last ones that really understand and stand to this: you got them out changing the world for us now, and we don't like it.
With headphones on, eyes closed, listening to the lyrics, I get chills through my whole body as each verse passes. Beautiful song, poignant lyrics, awesome melody. A++
Cris Cornell é maravilhoso 😍 sua voz e versatilidade, era uma das coisas que ele tinha de melhor nele, e também não podemos esquecer do seu jeito e estilo de ser... 😊❤❤❤❤❤❤🏹🎸🎸🎸! Beijos 💋 de Inês de São Paulo Brasil 🇧🇷.
How can anyone dislike this song??? If u don't like Mr. Cornell then why are you even watching
omg he was so talented and beautiful.. how this is possible
ONE miracle of GOD, 💎😇🌈
he wanted truth and all he found was lies..so he checked out...better luck next time chris.... Namaste.
@@mustangmikep51 Evil forces in this world took Chris (and the others) away from us too soon, either way. And if only there was a next time ... at least in THIS dimension. 🥰✌️🕉️🎶
▶️🙋♂️🍺
Easy♥️
Good night, sweet prince. I hope you are at peace, and the Gods of Music are kind to you.
To the wife and family of Chris, I am SO sorry for your loss! I live in Toronto, Canada. I am so absolutely sorry for your loss
!
Such a beautiful voice in every way. You can feel it all when he sings. RIP CHRIS, YOU will NEVER BE FORGOTTEN. I will listen to your songs forever ❤
Rest in peace, Chris Cornell. The world is poorer for the loss of your powerful, distinctive voice, and artistic talent.
Beautiful face, beautiful voice, beautiful songwriting. He had it all on surface but nobody and no amount of recognizition could ever change how tortured his soul was within consumed by the deepest darkness. Depression is hell, its sickness can sour on all of us and we must lend that helpful hand to those suffering to offer the glimpse of light to hold on, trapped in the loneliness of their despair.
All day every day
Heaven is now full.
I saw Chris live 3 times with Soundgarden (for the reunion tour) and 2 times solo and also Chester live with LP maybe 2 or 3 month before his death, just one freaking year away from Cornell's one :-(. 2 of my favourite singers and Artists. 2 great voices that went away but are still there with us everyday.
Keep safe and rocking friend and if you have time come check the new song I posted with R&O, would love your views on it : ua-cam.com/video/kXsua5jVNtQ/v-deo.html
Chris Cornell's solo work is so underrated
RIP man. Thanks for your music.
His voice and spirit will never be matched. Ever.
The power and fierce in his voice and expressions, he feels the sound from himself and even try to smile. Awsome.

Well, it's been 5 years and I still can't...
I look forward to meeting him in heaven
I still can't without tears
It broke me when I heard the news to me he was the one that stood out, above that Seattle wave, the last! of that genre of music, and possibly my favorite one of all... Just a man and his music, sos
the world is gonna miss you man glad to see you play 2 years ago you were one of the best 90s singers thank you for all your music legacy RIP
RIP Chris... You will always be remembered... A great loss.... *cryin*
His music was great! He is Immortal, he isn't aging anymore.

I am happy because at least when my children or my grandsons ask me who was my favorite artist I will answer Chris Cornell.
Rock in Peace dude, thanks for everything... the world is a worse place now without you, but I understand that you were too good to stay in this place anymore.
What a beautiful angel have we lost... May your soul find peace in heaven as I do in your music, Chris...
It’s so sad that he isn’t with us anymore, I remember hearing about his death at a time where I hardly knew who he was. Now that I know how great of a musician he was, it makes my heart sink to think that someone so great is gone now.
