When I went to see Cornell live in Boston a handful of years ago, I told my wife that no matter what he played, this was one of the two songs I I needed to hear most. Well, he played it sure enough, but the most incredible thing was right towards the end he did this dramatic pause, just like he does at 3:00 in this version, and during that pause he turned his head and looked RIGHT AT ME, with this look that seemed to communicate "I know you wanted to hear this." It was... chilling.

I love "Euphoria Morning", and this song in particular. I don't get why his solo albums aren't more popular, even "Scream". The same goes with solo albums of Eddie Vedder. They're both amazing independent singers & songwriters. In the age of Swifts and Perrys... criminally underrated.

But never once was it bad?! His voice and the way he could modulate and control it was / is such a rare gift to those few who have it, in any genre of music!
