I am type2. My a1c comes in around 6 (6.1 this week). I eat plant based, cook my own food. Dropped over sixty pounds with this way of eating and moving- I am old so I walk in hilly streets of my neighborhood. I do watch grains, flour, etc - beans and nuts and tofu much safer. Just cook your own healthy food and move! Love and light for everyone here.

@@sabrini99 First, I got myself a continuous glucose monitor. You just wear it in your arm and scan it every few hours. It really helps to know how your blood sugar reacts to which foods. Then I severely cut my carb intake (probably from around 700 g per day to 60 g per day) and increased my fat intake. And I did not feel hungry all the time like I did with other "diets." I also fasted 16/8. I lost 60 pounds with almost no exercise that I've kept off for a year now and I'm not on any medications and my a1c is currently 5.5. No more diabetes. To be completely transparent, when I was diagnosed, my a1c was 7.1 and I was only on metformin for about 3 weeks. If you've been diabetic longer, take it slow and don't go off your medications without speaking to your doctor. Also, check out Dr. Ken Berry on UA-cam.

If you really interested in how to stop/slow down the Fibromyalgia and the Arthritis check out Dr Ken Berry on youtube and facebook. I've been following him for mine and I can now close my hands and walk again and i'll never eat ANY carbs regularly, I now treat them as a treat couple times a year. Least then I can say when I'll be in pain. Also a1c went from 12 to an A1C at last appointment of 5.6 after 6 months. I was doing the keto with 20 or less carbs and still with that much carb I couldn't get past the pains, 6 months ago I went carnivore, and was amazed at how much the pain reduced, then I took it another step and got rid of all dairy and OMG amazing, now I can close my hands and move my wrists. Those almond milk he is suggesting is terrible for people with Arthritis, it will inflame arthritis. Good luck!

@@tonyarenee531 I was a diabetic for as long as i've been married and that is 25 years. I followed the Diabetes Diet and all I got was worse, I was up to an A1C of 12. Then I started with naurpathy and then went to seizures. Doctors kept telling me it because of the diabetes. Wrong, it cuz of the food they say to eat. I found out cuz I came in having seizure and all they gave me was 2 bag of saline solution and I was fine! THen I had a hard time keeping my sugars up for 4 days. That got me curious so started researching. Diabetes is and auto immune issue I learnt. With more research and trying different eating, everything is cured! I started keto, and after about a year my body just moved right into carnivore and now 6 month carnivore and the nodules in my lungs, and thyroid are shrinking, and my a1c as of 2 weeks ago is now at 5.4 i'm aiming for 4.8 :) And when I first started keto I was eating 18 grams of salt that lasted about 2 months then it backed down to 8 grams a day to now I can just sprinkle it on my food. Oh no worries on BP either 125/80...use to be 180/100....Just do some research. Every animal on this planet that means us too, need to have salt. Not the salt in processed foods, our bodies don't know what to do with it. Sorry Keto to carnivore is the ONLY thing a diabetic should be following. Science has already proven that keto to carnivore is the only way a diabetic should eat. Oh besides fasting! Type 1 diabetic are having awesome results using the carnivore/fasting options...huge break through for type 1's The real diabetics....Type 2 is a false flag, they just don't want to tell you it cuz of the junk you put in your bodies, cuz then that woulds ruin the food industry and so on. Gotta keep the old dogma stuff going.

As a life long diabetic (type 1) I have learned to look at glycemic load. That determines how quickly something will cause your blood sugar to rise. Oatmeal might get a bad rap for keto, but is excellent for diabetics because in spite of having 24 net grams of carbs, it has a glycemic load of only 9, which is low and means not only will it digest slowly and have a minimal blood sugar load, but will lower the spikes of carbs eaten after it. You also have to look at resistant starches which are resistant to digestion, resistant starches not only lower blood sugar, they improve insulin resistance and increase digestion. You can even force a starch to become resistant by cooling it overnight in the fridge, or like freezing bread and warming it back up by toasting. it. So it isn't just about carbs for diabetics, it is about glycemic load and how slowly something digests to have a minimal effect on sugar spikes. And you have to be careful of too much animal fat which can cause colon cancer, pancreatic cancer (especially in diabetics), and can even cause diabetes and insulin resistance if you don't already have it.

Thanks guys for educating all people [not only diabetics]on what healthy ingredients in foods are. I feel the need to address this. I've noticed Bobby has always put down palm oil. Now the reason there is a stigma when it comes to palm oil is because it's usually processed to all get out. Now I've been buying and using unrefined palm oil for years which is rich in carotenoids. Otherwise known as vitamin A. It's amazing for your skin as well. Or you can buy dende oil otherwise known as red palm oil which is used in a lot of African dishes and that's even better for you unrefined than regular palm oil unrefined. Bobby please take a look at these two oils unrefined please? The health benefits are astounding!

People would call the police on any social gatherings. Then we have all these food and snack companies with misleading descriptions on their packaging. Then we have all this misinformation by doctors, dieticians, nutritionists, personal trainers and other experts about what is and isn't healthy. I was prediabetic a few years ago and then beat it by getting into the normal range. Got tested recently and I'm prediabetic again. I know how it happened. I got lazy and started eating out. Fries, tater tots, white bread, home fries, potato chips, fried chicken. Also, let my high blood pressure and cholesterol get out of control. I thought I could exercise my way out of a bad diet.
