Thank you for watching the video! I am so happy because with exchanging the pickup the problem was finally solved and I didnt need to be picked up away from home again :-D
You are dong well with your English,we can understand you fine in the UK. Joined when I needed advice on my old TS 350 Stihl. Yes you were rebuilding a TS 420 but,I'm rebuilding 2 TS 350's which are pretty much the same, You're video's have been very helpful. Carry on
@@bikedogtor1663 Great video, your English is better than many people here in America. Had to ask a new to me a 84 XL600 I'm working on since purchased and still apart from transported back home. I saw you have rubber foot pegs, where did you get them as I do not like the steel toothed pegs? This will be a street only bike wanting wider and rubber pegs. The steel pegs are too short and easy to slip off riding on the street as well chewing up my riding boots......Prost.....~~=o&o>.......
@@bikedogtor1663 I have a 85 XL350 & 84 XL600, both bikes and all the 350's and 600's have looked at have metal toothed folding pegs. They are too short, uncomfortable plus chew up boots. They interchange 350's to 600's, are identical to the foot pegs on XR bikes of the 80's era. The pegs fit the 350 & 600 lounting brackets. This a street bike only wanting to know where I can buy a pair of pegs with rubbers for my bike? This a European thing as your bike is the first one I have ever seen with them? Even the Honda Service Manual including Partzilla parts diagram show only steel toothed pegs. www.partzilla.com/catalog/honda/motorcycle/1984/xl600r-a/step. Any help piurchasing a set would be a great help. Thanks, Carl Winterbauer in California......~~=o&o>......
@@R90scj Thank you for taking the time to write this detailed comment. Apparently I was wrong with the rubber foot pegs but I cannot help you sorry. The rubber version was on the bike and I dont know where to get them.
Great video, thanks! Just what I need as I suspect my stator to be broken as well! I have the same issue when hot it dies and won't start until cold. I found 2 used ones so hopefully one of them is ok. I can put the bike on its side without draining the oil first, right? Or did you take the oil out before you started? Thanks!
Great video my friend! I'm also working on my 85 XL600R that I finally for running but with some oil leaks. I picked up a spare 1986 motor that is complete, except stator and pulse generator (pick up). I wanted to see if I can move/replace those electrical parts to test my spare motor in case my is too damaged. Any recommendations for finding extra stator/pickups at a good price? I will follow your video, thank you!
Sebastian Bataglia Thank you for your comment. The auto deco cable was pretty bad and I didn't find a new one. Plus imo you don't need it, the manual deco is enough.
Hi! thanks for the video! can you give me some information about the values between the old and the new pickup? i have 396 ohm at cold engine it is the correct values or not'

@@R90scj hey man, thank you for your comment. Regarding the foot pegs, I think they are original and yours were changed in the past.

I put it to the side so the oil can stay inside 😊
