    Not running every day is not the same as not training really hard every day doing other forms of cross training. Valby works out like crazy. That is what it takes.

    I had a foot stress fracture going into a track season and the aqua jogger made my shins super strong and probably made me better. Obviously she is an amazing athlete. Being able to compete is so important but she has to be really mentally strong.

    Less the better but plenty of development potential, like heaps,....but most important steady development and no injuries.

    Hanging with Touhy after breaking a foot and only being back to training for a few weeks AS A FRESHMAN. Impressive.
    Touhy didn’t even make the finals as a freshman.

      @@coco_bold Negative. He was right to begin with. Tuohy has been nationally famous for six or seven years. She shattered national records in high school and was the number one recruit going into college.
      Parker Valby has been unknown except maybe in Florida.
      And the garbage comments here that somehow exercising hard is just as good as running is stupid. There is no substitute for running other than running. There are zero world class distance runners today or ever that trained by NOT running. It’s just ridiculous to even read. So yes Parker Valby’s accomplishment is amazing and indicative of tremendous talent.
      And as further proof, last week, four months after this race she won the SEC Cross Country Championship, shattering the corse record by more than 30 seconds and defeating Mercy Chelangat by nearly ten seconds. Mercy was going for her third SEC championship in a row and the previous course record holder and got a huge PR in the race. When the course record holder smashes her own record by twenty seconds and still loses by ten, that shows you Parker really is a special talent.
      She ran a 6K hilly course at the same pace Touhy won this national 5K track title.

      But then again, maybe Touhy wasn’t pushing as hard as she could have.

      its probably a whole different ballgame for womens distance collegiate running. imagine doing that on the men's side of collegiate running, you wouldn't even make it in the top 200 in the NCAA's 😂😂

      She's a woman competing against other high level women, why are you guys salty... I bet if she's a talented guy, this would still be her fate in the men's category. Just be happy for some talents, it's not like she didn't work hard doing cross training to prepare for this.

    • @danspeakz1130
      @danspeakz1130 2 роки тому +1

      @@dreswan1 I'm sure both sides are competitive but its just the amount of mileage being put in is more greater for men than women since they run different distances during cross country and sometimes track. A cross country and men's track team train and race at more faster paces than the women's cross country and track team. But in a sense you are right, running only twice a week for any side isn't gonna cut it but this collegiate girl is a rare case. She did say she has done a lot more cross training than running which does make you recover faster and become a better runner.

    Everyone is different. She has some incredible genetics to pull off what she has. It’s a shame that foot injuries take away incredible athletes. Rafa Nadal is literally playing with a dead foot and he doesn’t care about the consequences.
