Here are some cross country tips: 1: Run Conservatively, meaning like, don't EVER be one of those people who SPRINT in the beginning, there Lactate will build up quickly, (Lactate is pain), kinda jog but a little faster in the beginning, so you can wipe out the people who sprinted in the beginning by the end. 2: Week prior to your race, eat fruits, vegetables, Chicken, Almonds, Lot's of Healthy choices, I also recommend water and Gatorade for electrolytes. (Gatorade is a good liquid to consume on the way to the meet, lets say on the way there) 3: Stick to the same meals the day before your race, since your body is use to the foods and liquids your consuming, your body knows how to conserve the energy. 4: Do muscle building workouts, muscle will help you get faster, though there could be cons to building muscle, but this is optional. 5: Have fun! Don't tell yourself you can't do it, because you can, you need to train your mind to tell you that you CAN do it! Your body is more than capable to do it, your mind is whats not capable, so tell yourself you can do ANYTHING, cause you can!
I am italian.. I only see this video now, but I also saw the video of Kate Murphy that unfortunately it stopped early as the difference between the two athletes
I was running in the Denver Cherry Creek Sneak back in about 1989 and I kept trying to keep pace with a young blonde haired female -- she was kicking my butt. It was killing me trying to get ahead and stay ahead of her. Finally, I realized it was Melody Fairchild the State Girl's High School Cross Country Champion -- then it was OK. I ended up with my best time ever trying to keep up with her.
This makes me miss running. I just can't push myself right now because track and field starts in March for middle school. I love to run but no one is forcing me and that makes me lazy. I'm obviously not going to win big championships but I will try my best in the races I get to be in.
can we get an update about their spring track season? cancelled I imagine. or pushed to summer? what a bummer this pandemic is for these kids who could be out competing
why are the girls and boys on different track teams? when I was in high school the boys and girls track team was trained together. if i remember correctly we had around 60 to 70 total.
well they definitely compete separately. some smaller schools might combine them with the same coach and train together, but even in the situation you describe when you went to meets you must have had a girl's and boy's separate competition event
@@watcherwlc53 i said TRAINED. of course men and women competed separately. men and women can never compete directly in endurance events for first, second, third place. these are biological facts (I encourage you to research them): -- average man's heart 10% larger for same body weight as female -- average man's lungs 30% larger for same body weight as female -- average man's hemoglobin 10% greater than female. why do you think hematocrit ranges lower for females? men have superior a starting point for endurance than women. it's not just about strength, men generally speaking have greater capacity for endurance overall than women. can women train to get better? yes. but a man training the same will generally get better results.

Dude when she was a junior she got number 4 IN THE WORLD. Not 4th for Highschoolers. Not 4th for Under 17s. 4th in the world, including full grown women are proffesional athletes and she was 15/16 at the time! She's get the amount of 'hype' that she deserves.
Here are some cross country tips:
1: Run Conservatively, meaning like, don't EVER be one of those people who SPRINT in the beginning, there Lactate will build up quickly, (Lactate is pain), kinda jog but a little faster in the beginning, so you can wipe out the people who sprinted in the beginning by the end.
2: Week prior to your race, eat fruits, vegetables, Chicken, Almonds, Lot's of Healthy choices, I also recommend water and Gatorade for electrolytes. (Gatorade is a good liquid to consume on the way to the meet, lets say on the way there)
3: Stick to the same meals the day before your race, since your body is use to the foods and liquids your consuming, your body knows how to conserve the energy.
This girl is so amazing 😎🤙🏽
Bruh I run the mile in 10 minutes 😭
The Rat same
Nobody likes a showoff
Flotrack, can we get a workout wednesdag with NC State Wolfpack!? Please
If I want to run a long distance can you tell me how to run a long distance and do you know how to run
why did you repost the same video
They didn't. The other one was by MileSplit.
Swaves You’re dumb
I was running in the Denver Cherry Creek Sneak back in about 1989 and I kept trying to keep pace with a young blonde haired female -- she was kicking my butt. It was killing me trying to get ahead and stay ahead of her. Finally, I realized it was Melody Fairchild the State Girl's High School Cross Country Champion -- then it was OK. I ended up with my best time ever trying to keep up with her.
This is impressive!
so weird.. i remember hearing her name first place at every cross country race in high school. and now i am reminded of her name on youtube
She's amazing! But does she work out in different terrain? like steep hills for instsnce?
This makes me miss running. I just can't push myself right now because track and field starts in March for middle school. I love to run but no one is forcing me and that makes me lazy. I'm obviously not going to win big championships but I will try my best in the races I get to be in.
What a wonderful kid.
This girl is an awesome force to reckon with. What a machine. What a go, Katelyn.
Absolutely the future olympian champion!
Interesante disposicion de preparacion
Mile repeats?? No mam
she is really impressive...seems very down to earth
what injury did she have? cause ive been having shin splints for ever and cant recover.
@esther thank u so much:(
I had a heart attack just watching her run. Was wheezing and gasping, and I was sitting down.
Saw an interview with her where she said tendinitis in knees.
En cuales competencias a participado katelin en el2021 gracias
Once you get Leg Speed 200, 400, 800 ... The Mile Repeats are the Best Overall ... 💥💥💥💥💥
can we get an update about their spring track season? cancelled I imagine. or pushed to summer? what a bummer this pandemic is for these kids who could be out competing
I ran my Pr here of 47.90 in the 400m. Her speed is contagious in rockland i swear XD
Ótimo treino.!!
Bons educativos.
i did a 5:38 and i died, this girl is serious
It looks like she is just going for a leisurely jog. Effortless.
Yo I live near north Rockland. I had a track meet at the same track their on! Yo that school famous!
why are the girls and boys on different track teams?
when I was in high school the boys and girls track team was trained together. if i remember correctly we had around 60 to 70 total.
well they definitely compete separately. some smaller schools might combine them with the same coach and train together, but even in the situation you describe when you went to meets you must have had a girl's and boy's separate competition event
@@watcherwlc53 i said TRAINED. of course men and women competed separately.
men and women can never compete directly in endurance events for first, second, third place.
these are biological facts (I encourage you to research them):
-- average man's heart 10% larger for same body weight as female
-- average man's lungs 30% larger for same body weight as female
-- average man's hemoglobin 10% greater than female. why do you think hematocrit ranges lower for females?
men have superior a starting point for endurance than women. it's not just about strength, men generally speaking have greater capacity for endurance overall than women. can women train to get better? yes. but a man training the same will generally get better results.
Katelyn est une gazelle cest un plaisir énorme de la voir courir elle court avec une telle facilité quon a l'impression que ses pieds ne touchent pas le sol
RESPECT
This girl is insane...what in the world! 👍🏾
What kind of watch do you guys use for track?
Video keeps freezing at 8 seconds into the video while the audio continues normally. Just me or anyone else having this issue?
Nope
@@robert.mechura Thanks for your response. I probably just had an issue with buffering.
synchronium24 mines been doing that
I see what you mean, they edited it that way so it would go with the music
just you!
My mile is barely below 6 :/
I’m not a long distant person. Like jogging two laps kill me 😭 that’s why I sprint and stick to the 100 and 200
Slow it right down. Build up pace slowly. If you're out of breath after 800m, you're doing it too fast.
T G S thanks for the tip
What is the greatest difference between the two athletes?
Very good. Keep it up.
Do they do weight exercise?
"make sure that easy days are easy" as a athlete i can say sports is all about that
In school, it took me a literal hour to do 1 mile *sigh*
LOL SAME
You can walk a mile in 20 minutes
@@jasonlove1380 not me. I'm so slow
She is so beautiful and smart; she has a bright future.
how is she a high school senior?! how old is she she looks so young
The more stamina your body has the faster pace you can run a mile at, so basicly Katelyn's "sprinting" pace to her is just a fast jog pace or even just her cross country pace since she can contain stamina well.
Not quite, maximum sprinting effort will cause lactic acid to build up very quickly no matter the endurance as you have surpassed your lactic threshold. A good distance runner runs just below their lactic threshold
Bom dia!
Katelyn, sou seu fã. Parabéns pelas conquistas alcançadas!!!!
Muy buena 👍👍👍
Estados Unidos tem de colocar essa menina para ser a melhor do mundo, vai revolucionar...
Back it down?
How much recovery between repeating?
90 seconds
Coach: I only want 85s
Me: ONLY?! What?!?!
I can barely do a mile😭
