Hey everyone! This video is a bit different from my usual where I cut out lots of the "filler" since it was a very long run what with all the waiting for the Hex and all. Don't worry I don't plan to do this with all my videos or anything but I am curious what you think so let me know. Thanks!

Understand the choice of editing this run as it was probably reaally long unedited, but your vod style Videos are what I subscribed for and this felt really alien compared to the usual content. Basically rlly nice editing, but felt like a weird swap of direction

If you "give up" a run that starts with a hex, that order of the hexes is randomized each time.

1. Found tier 3 Beam
2. Set up the Fear from nothing to what he showed
3. Found the non tier 3 Beam
4. Hit give up, changed all Fear to be 0 again
5. And then found the same 3 Selene Boons in the same order
Hitting Give Up does *_NOT_* change the Selene Boons, but at this patch, changing the Fears *did* change them

@@justarandomdood Try it yourself. Equip Selene keepsake and enter Erebus or Ephyra, then Give Up and start another run (without changing anything). As you start multiple runs between Erebus left/Erebus right/Ephyra, you'll see that there are "sets" of hexes but you don't necessarily get the same set each run. The seeding on hexes is weird.

The keepsake actually says, "A reward from Selene is likely." So if you _already_ have the hex, it should summon a path of stars, which is why it is perhaps best to wait until Oceanus/Rift of Thessaly to pop the Moon Beam keepsake.
Please do the pokemon run, with only cat, the hex that respawn enemies and sun worshiper.
I tried it once and the hex only works on enemies killed directly (so not cat or shades)
I feel like this run would be easier on mouse and keyboard so you can aim the beam better

I think one of the problems with hexes is that it's very all or nothing: if you're doign a hex build, you're at the mercy of RNG. If you're not doing a hex build, then the hex is just kind of there not doing anything.
Calls from Hades one were a bit like this as well, but they had an important advantage: you could throw out a lesser calls and get some use out of it here and there without having to commit your build to calls, or, if you happened to get the setup for it, you could spec into using greater calls.
So what I think would work well is if there was a meter coresponding to the phases of the moon tht, as it fills up, allows you to use lesser versions of the hex and then, once it's completely full, you ge the full version of the hex.
So with the beam build, if you get the meter a quarter fully, it become s cresent moon and you can throw out a little moonbeam which tracks targets wherever you place it and you can just fire-and-forget the thing like you do with the appropriate path of stars upgrade. If you wait until it's fully, then you get a super kamehameha which, without upgrades, requires Mel to direct it, but does a ton of damage and has way more AOE. (Enough to be a boss-killer, but only when upgraded and synergized with boons. So you could, say, get an upgrade which applies your cast effects to the beam, or is even treated as though it _were_ your cast outright for purposes of things like Aspect of Persephone.)
This would provide far more options for rebalancing hexes than trying to fiddle with keepsakes and rewards from encounters which may or may not even appear. The way it's been tweaked right now, it's difficult to get an adequate balance between making the beam do too much damage, but not be accessible because it takes too long to charge and fire, and between making the beam _too_ accessible and just deleting bossess with Selene's wave-motion cannon.
With this added flexibility, it's easier to justify extending the charge time _and_ the damage output of the full beam because the the lesser beam is also avalible.
Another small tweak that would be necessary would be to rebalance the amount of mana needed to charge the hex so that it applies _across_ encounters instead of resetting each the start of each location, the same as the calls in Hades one.
I think given the nature of the run editing was a smart choice. It was different but thats totally fine.
If you were going to do an edited run this is probably the right one to try it out with, but I hope you keep your unedited formula going forward. Need more grill stories.

Yeah the Path of Stars you got with his Ray was rough - the one that applies the Attack Boon to it and the one that you can set and forget are great - espeically if it comes with pierce.

Felt like I didn’t see most of the run.
I have the vod channel in the description if you really want to see it but there is a LOT of waiting around for the Hex to charge and most of the boons we picked up did literally nothing for the challenge. Feedback accepted though, perhaps too heavy on the scrapping!

I loved this video despite not being a fan of the hexes, how would this idea do with the Dark side hex?
I like the idea of hex only runs. Not a fan of the editing here where it skips around. You cut out too much IMO.
Does that Path of Stars that adds your Attack boon bonus include the damage bonus? Cause that sounds spicy.

True they may not be super necessary for the hex only run, but it's not something I'd want to see in future videos.

there wasn't a lot of decision making on this one, tbh. get Selene, get some boons in hopes for origination/revenge/double up and try to fish paths of stars from rewards, the run itself is tedious and extensive
Does it even matter? It's a Hex only build. I'd assume outside of "get max health for survivability" and "RNG plz bless me with a Path of Stars", his choices don't really matter since the loop is "wait until hex is up, use hex, then wait again for hex."
