Been watching your channel on and off since this game first came out, just wanna say it’s insane how long you’ve been making videos about this game. Quality work
My boonless run is like my most recent challenge clear and my strat was like Arthur for health and the chonky hits, plus Sisyphus shackle for even chonkier hits
Thanks for taking my run suggestion and showcasing Hestia! It's given me my "best" rail runs for awhile but I feel like I'm always tripping myself up with the timing, so this helped a lot!
Tried aspect of Hestia with default controls and never tried it again. Thanks for the tip, always learn something new with this game watching your videos
You could have added 2 approval process and cranked down the speed, it probably would have made the run easier. Not saying that you should have done it, I know you’re definitely good enough to not need it, but it could help anyone attempting this run.
Good point! I would only do 1 though since you could accidentally get stuck with unsellable boons like Premium Vintage (assuming I remembered to swap to Fated Authority instead of Persuasion).
Super random, but as I’ve been playing Hades constantly recently so I couldn’t help but contemplate: I would love to see Hades-style rogue-likes from every pantheon; i.e. Egyptian, Norse, Sumerian, etc. it definitely wont happen, but it would be hella awesome 😅
Problem is that, the reason the greek pantheon is so known is not only because they left documentations but also they were deeply engraved in their culture not just for religious purposes. They had a lot of stories, legends, tales from all types you can imagine, hell hercules stories feel like actual super hero stories. The other pantheons however either didnt leave many written and illustrated documentations or just didnt had that same view for their pantheons. The Egyptians for example seemingly had very few tales and were all just justification stories about the main roles and functions of their gods, because it was indeed more lenient toward an actual worshipping religion. The nordic and to an extent celtic pantehon are probably the 2 closest that could achieve something similar, the hindu/buddhist had things like mahabaratha and ramaiana, which are leghty tales with a lot of characters, but i dont think any of the myths could encompass anything closer to the same narrative of Hades here without taking much farther creative freedoms in the sense of, making OCs and assigning some very farfetched roles and traits to existing ones.
As a new player it is fascinating to hear people have resistance to changing the reload button to a trigger button, when I unlocked the rail it was the first thing I did
I have to replace my savefile regularly with one that is shared via speedrun dot com. The more runs you have on a savefile, the longer the load times are.
I remember doing my boonless run on Rama. The speed was a little tough to adjust to, but I figured the sheer damage would carry me through. Definitely came down to the wire with the Styx tunnels, though 😬
Have you cleared the first run of a save? :) Second question which I guess is a mod challenge if it exists even lol, whatever option you pick comes with a chaos negative too. :) thanks for all content and streams!
Clearing the game with the first run is done by some speedrunners, it's called Fresh File Don't know if Dan's done one but he probably has, I know there's a few FF runs on UA-cam to watch
I swapped Open Codex and Reload (LB -> R3) a long time ago and never looked back. Not sure why Supergiant put Open Codex on an action button in the first place.
You talked about no Sack. My first time getting to hades so like second or third time at the satyr tunnel things i got a no Sack. I after that taught that it always was in the last tunnel
there isn't a way to take extra rooms in the game. biomes last for a set amount of chambers. even if you get a chaos room or eurydice room, those replace a potential battle room, not add on to them. also the chance of finding the sack in styx only depends on the chambers you enter in styx. what you do in one biome doesn't have any impact on what happens in a later one.
I got a 5 sack on a 32 heat with a weapon I was struggling with (spear I think) and ran out of time with tight deadline because of it. Needed like 10 more seconds. I eventually did get it though.
Hello mr Halean sir, lord, sir, coolest guy, sir... I was wondering if you would do something like this for a new game run. I am trying to do deathless 100% but am having a lot of trouble in the start cuz I suck...😅 I know I could look at speedruns but I really enjoyed this. Thank you for the content regardless! ❤
Wait you don't have dash on a bumper?? It is so much easier for the same reason reload is better on a bumper or a trigger. Take the load off your thumb, the 3 most pressed buttons (dash especially) are too much for one finger when you have 4 bumper buttons with their own finger. Dash deserves it's own dedicated finger. Makes dashing and attacking at the same time effortless.
Here would be an interesting twist on a bouldy boon only run - how about, you can use bouldy multiple times each chamber, and maybe some way of getting more uses. Like say any time you drink from a fountain, you get one extra cc use or something

Boonless with Arthur is fun too. Shadow presence, shadow slash. Three digits aoe attacks+damage reduction special.
might as well drop heart rend in there
@@Liko_Horizonsboonless means without boons my friend, in this case Heart Rend would not work

The Chonky Run
Have you tried getting the most darkness in one run? Could be a fun way to teach players how to farm darkness.
Zag bow is also very nice for boonless, I actually failed with hestia but then got twin shot and those crits were crazy
Thanks for taking my run suggestion and showcasing Hestia! It's given me my "best" rail runs for awhile but I feel like I'm always tripping myself up with the timing, so this helped a lot!
I think I've commented this before, but on Steam deck you can also add reload to the attack button release so every shot auto reloads after.
19:50 this tip was very useful 😊
lol I’ve just watched previous boonless run with zag’s bow and today haelian drops another vid. Thanks!
Loving the new outro =)
Tried aspect of Hestia with default controls and never tried it again.

I have honestly never seen a zag bow special run on 32 heat. Now that would be hard to do and would love to see you do it

A mobile developer did do that with Norse and it kinda sucked....

I literally finished my boonless run yesterday and now this video shows up lol. Still gonna watch it though eheheh
As a new player it is fascinating to hear people have resistance to changing the reload button to a trigger button, when I unlocked the rail it was the first thing I did
3:25 what's up with those stats? 197 enemies slain but 3 clears and one on 15 heat and another in 7 minutes 44 seconds?
I have to replace my savefile regularly with one that is shared via speedrun dot com. The more runs you have on a savefile, the longer the load times are.
Thanks, Andy, for that Suika sign-off!
26:50. Could you still get boonless if you got one of the unsellable boons from Poseidon? Something like Sunken Treasure?
I put reload on L3 and it makes so much sense. You move with that stick all the time and all you have to do is press in
I remember doing my boonless run on Rama. The speed was a little tough to adjust to, but I figured the sheer damage would carry me through. Definitely came down to the wire with the Styx tunnels, though 😬
Hades really said "I lost coz I'm old"
SteamInput lets you bind reload to button release. Makes hestia so smoooooooth

Dan's done a couple FF runs I believe and is possibly the only person to do a fresh file to epilogue run.
12:45 thats me :D
Nice one, congrats
doesn't taking chaos in the room before final shop give you and extra chamber?
Does Chaos count for a boonless run?
I swapped Open Codex and Reload (LB -> R3) a long time ago and never looked back. Not sure why Supergiant put Open Codex on an action button in the first place.
*Throat clear incoming*
I feel personally attacked. I do it way too often myself 😂
You talked about no Sack. My first time getting to hades so like second or third time at the satyr tunnel things i got a no Sack. I after that taught that it always was in the last tunnel
Could you intentionally take extra chambers at the end of biomes to get a chance at a one sack?

@@realtalk13But the amounts are not fixed? Some runs have 70 chambers in total where others have up to 78, iirc.

Silly question... why do you intentionally never pick up the gemstones? Is it because they provide no extra buff? It just bothers me lmao
I have no use for them any more, they provide no buff. You have to pick up the Darkness to leave the room.
There's me proud of my sub 20 min completion run then I see Hestia dealing 420 every hit now I feel inferior hahahah

You can slide your thumb from dash to attack for easier dash-strikes. No need to have dash on a separate finger.
I reload with L3, is way easy, since my thumb is alway on the joystick.
Pls try this with Arthur, moar health
16:46 : Scariest and ugliest boss I've ever seen in Hades 😨
Why is hestia the safest aspect in the game in your opinion? Thanks for your content ❤️
awesome.

New mirror option: Sisyphusian Soul. Your cast is bouldy. Damage and drops reduced for balance.
