What you gotta remember is when people said “no other actor could play the character as well as Christopher Reeves”, they were kinda right, but that didn’t matter. Even if the new Iron man isn’t as good as RDJ, that doesn’t matter. If they’re good in their own right that’s enough. That’s how it was for Spider-man. Tobey, Andrew, and Tom are all playing different versions of the same character, each with their own different spin. That’s good, we clearly all liked that. Better to say “I liked the old actor more” than for them to be the last actor
@@kangaroo3708Why? I say this as a huge marvel fan, there’s so much pissed potential regarding the MCU and the comics. They were honestly fucked from the beginning and it’s not even their fault, not having the Avengers, X-Men and Fantastic Four in the same universe at first was already a fumble. So many missed possible interactions, so many underdeveloped storylines, etc
@@kangaroo3708 that’s not true tho, you’re only saying that because has multiple actors for superman, batman, and wonder woman whearas mavel has only had one actor play most of their characters so far except for spidey and daredevil and a few others
@Anthonycheesman33 I mean it makes sense after almost 7 years of not seeing hulk be hulk fr even hulk haters are gonna convert and be like "wtf marvel how are you fumbling Unga Bunga man"
The argument about recasting is ridiculous. There have been so many fellas who’ve played Superman, Batman, and Spider-Man who wouldn’t bat an eye lash. But as soon as someone says Captain America or Iron Man, they go ape about it.
There have always been people who say that no one can play a comic book character better than the last actor who did. But nobody listened to them before.
These are the arguments from fake fans, the casual movie audience trying too hard. These actors are merely adaptation, none of them are the physical manifestation of that very character. Not Hugh Jackman, not Ben Affleck, and definitely not RDJ. They are actors, they have a personality outside of being fictional superheroes you know?
To be fair, that’s probably because these are the only live action versions of characters like Cap and Iron Man around/that people actually care about (let’s just ignore the versions of Cap before Evans) meanwhile Superman, Batman, and Spider-Man have been rebooted so many times now that people are more used to it, but I’m sure that’ll also be the case for Tony, Steve, and other MCU characters (along with any DC characters that people might say that for like Aquaman or something) whenever they are eventually rebooted
Robert Downey Jrs personality was so engrained into Iron man’s character that it’s hard to imagine iron man as anyone else. I think that’s why Iron man in particular would be difficult to recast. Wolverine wouldn’t be as difficult, except that there’s only ever been One wolverine and he’s been amazing.
I remember when The Dark Knight came out, there was a petition to retire The Joker for live action. They were saying Heath Ledger did such a great job, that no one else should be able to ever play him ever again, just like how no one gets the number 23 in the Chicago Bulls anymore. I wish I was making this up.
I’ve never understood how people think another actor couldn’t play a particular character I’m mean why can’t a new actor get a chance to play iron man or captain America we need new actors for these characters.
And Thor. And Hulk. And Ant-Man, and multiple other Avengers. These are Marvel characters. Marvel and DC have a vast multiverse with infinite universes, some with more changes, some with almost no changes. Why can't more people play comic book characters? We have 3 live action Spider-Men already.
I completed agree people that want an actor to play the same actor their entire lives for ALL OF TIME. Are just people completely resistant to any form of change. Like guys obviously there’s so many other actors that can play them so we don’t have people doing this until their 90 it’s ridiculous to think so
@@uchihabomber1296Its like folks forget actors age,get a lot more pricey and even reach a point where they understandably don't want to play the character anymore. I think a big part of the reason ppl are resistant is because for many those were their introduction to those characters and the thought of others taking their place is unrealistic
Don’t be surprised when Secret Wars comes out, pulls a Crisis on Infinite Earths from DC and reboots the whole franchise from scratch with new fresh faces as more and more people start to pine for Iron Man and Captain America content.
I want some new Iron Man movies dawg. Iron Man has a lot of iconic stories to adapt, and will also give us a proper Iron Man vs Mandarin (I like Iron Man 3 btw). But still, more movies in general.
@seregagerassimov4864 for real. Ghost (they're an Iron Man villain initially), Titanium Man, Crimson Dynamo, Blizzard, Ultimo, Madame Masque, etc. Iron Man has WAY MORE important villains and characters in his world. I recently found out that Pepper wasn't originally Tony's love interest. She was Happy Hogan's love interest in the comics until MCU synergy ( and the Armored Adventures show) did otherwise
@@SecretMagician Iron Man's villains are severely underrated in my opinion. Hope that the Motive game that is coming out has a time for them to shine. You also forgot Justin Hammer, Count Nefaria, Tyberus Stone, MODOK, Whiplash, Unicorn and of course The Mandarin as some of the more reccuring and important villains.
Agreed, RIP Chadwick Boseman, but T’Challa is too good of a character to never use again. And not sure if it’s a hot take but I didn’t really like Black Panther 2.
@@BatFlash52its not black panther 2 could never be as good as it needed to be because Boseman’s death. So most people watched it with a different lense. It was at least better than the garbage that most of phase 4 had
Been saying the same thing, with all due respect but Chadwick is an actor he's not the real T'challa/Black panther. Just because the actor died doesn't mean the character has to die as well Panther his multiple stories that have yet to be told
Am I the only one who found it weird that the MCU has no issue recasting Thunderbolt Ross after his original actor passed away, but they refuse to cast T'Challa?
The big difference is T'challa was a well loved and central character within the mcu and it helped Chadwick Boseman was just as loved and respected while Thunderbolt Ross was mostly just background character that most of the audience didnt care too much about so no one would bat an eye if a recast happen even if William Hurt did a good job making Ross unlikable and it helps that William Hurts past and allegations just make it easier to recast and move on
@@Kalel2.0 Bruce Banner/The Hulk is a bigger character. It was a huge risk of them replacing Edward Norton with a not as famous Mark Ruffalo. But it still worked out.
@@petermj1098Ruffalo was decently known at the time and a proven talent plus those were the early days of the MCU and while Hulk was well known ppl didnt care about that iteration of him enough for it cause public anger from fans with Edward Norton being replaced by Ruffalo
I don’t understand how people are so allergic to new takes on characters from other actors. A character is much more than the actor. To quote Shine Comics: “Y’all don’t care about superheroes. You care about the IDEA of superheroes. You don’t care about Tony Stark. You care about Robert Downey Jr.”
Actors are people. We have expiration dates. They should try to make the most with the time the actor has and use age to their advantage. Literally have the actor pass the torch in story or something. But also new actors are inevitable
Preach. Some characters have been done dirty. I need a non nerfed T’Challa. He is the super genius not Shuri. She is Griot and thus a Druid. He needs to be a Sage Warrior King and not Captain Wakanda. Hulk needs to be Savage and not Starks sidekick. Banner hates the military industrial complex. Of the main heroic marvel superheroes genius. Banner should like Stark the least. Thor let’s not make him a joke, dark adult fantasy is ascendant for novels and ain’t that hard to get right
😊 for my new mcu cast my recast is tony unknown actor Steve aka Cap Billy Magnussen Bruce aka hulk older big name sorry mark thor unknown young actor nat madeline petsch Clint aka Hawkeye older actor sorry Jeremy Rhodes unknown young actor 😅1 Peter Parker aka spider man tom holland stays as spectacular spider man ant man unknown actor and wolverine unknown
Sorry to tell you this, but J.K. isn't getting younger and the time to recast him as well might be coming very soon, so get ready to see someone else don that mustache, alright? He's great, but eventually everyone's time comes to an end.
A created player character in the 1st AAA solo *Black Panther* game is disrespectful. After a $1.3 billion box office success, you'd think Marvel would be trying to cement T'Challa in the American zeitgeist. Instead, it seems like they are trying to disenfranchise him in his own IP in favor of the mantle. In reality, the mantle functions more as flavor text than anything else.
I’m hoping they recast after secret wars. I want to see new actors take on these roles and people shouldn’t get mad. We’ve seen Batman, Superman and spider man recasted so many times. Why is recasting the avengers any different?
Because it isnt necessary? The recast for spiderman, bat man and superman make sense because each interpretation was in a different universe. I dont understand randomly recasting every character in the same continuity if this is still supposed to be in the same mcu. Do you want the mcu to transfer its focus on a different universe? Because i don't understand.
@@Mr.Murasakino no. I’m thinking they are gonna do a soft reboot the mcu. Keep some actors from the old MCU but bring in new actors to play the iconic members of the avengers much like what DC is doing with their new Superman
@@ross3986 but why? What characters need to be recast and for what reason? The dcu started because the dceu was canned and unsaveable but I don't believe the mcu is in that state.
Same, except I want it to be a hard reboot. I think it would just be weird to see even the younger characters/actors reprise their roles, unless they come up with a reason like memory erasing or something so they don't remember the mcu prior.
I love jackman but i do genuinely think after secret wars he does need to hang up the claws forever on screen, give a new fresh actor the role of logan who can be what jackman was to a new generation of fans who'll be introduced to the character in the mcu
Best way to do it is reboot fully keeping a handful of actors and at the end show is multiple universes in which Hugh and RDJ and all of them remain knowing they still in universe exist but no longer will be playing. That could also open the idea of comics for those universes
Say that to the guys behind She-Hulk and Secret Invasion. They either were told not to read the comics or did their own thing for "tHE MEssAgE." @Acnologia-r3g
I don't take this guy seriously mainly because some of his arguments are poor and make zero sense and tbh the only option I agree with is the hulk and black panther beyond that people need to realize that we as an audience don't ha🎉 control on what happens and while they should def be better movies in the future people also need to realize that we aren't the one writing the script we don't pay for the actors or anything as someone who use to write a lot and wants to get back into it unless your willing to put in the effort itself writing isn't easy and at the end of the day we should all find a common middle ground instead of acting like we know what's best
The T'Chaka ref in X-Men 97 made no sense cos the 90s fantastic four cartoon that was canon to the X-Men show had T'Challa as Black panther "You take him out of the equation, and you lose 70% of the sauce" well said, M.
I feel like the MCU should've at least take a 4-5 year hiatus to think about what the new saga should be about, who was gonna be the new focus center characters that will lead this new saga, maybe recast some actors, etc.
This is actually a really good idea. As of right now Secret Wars is slated for May 2027. Marvel could just release Secret Wars and then just take a complete break from then until 2030. Once they do that they can announce what they want to do moving forward with the Revival Saga at SDCC 2030. By then they'd have a new level of intrigue because it's been over 3 years since we've had a marvel film.
Iron man, captain America, hulk, tchalla, wolverine and the x-men all need a recast. The only actor I’m ok with returning is deadpool Ryan Reynolds and Kelsey grammer as beast cause he’s mainly gonna be cgi anyways so u can have him come back as a rebooted beast that has nothing to do with the fox era
Why though? Why do we need to go back to these characters? Im not against this idea because i think there could be no other actor to play these characters, against it became it seems unnecessary. Cap, and iron man are dead in the mcu, lets focus on new characters instead of retreading old waters.
@@Mr.Murasakino it’s because we never had a proper marvel universe where we have the avengers, x-men, fantastic 4, and Spider-Man all in one universe and we can finally have that now. So many stories that they can tell that marvel never were able to do cause of rights issues. Now we can have a an avengers vs x-men, house of m, etc recasting also means new interpretations of characters as well. And I’m not saying this is u but the only people who doesn’t want what I just wrote are fans on the internet who only knew marvel through the mcu.
Agreed. Why didn't they simply take a 2-3 year break post-Endgame. If they absolutely had to, they still could've rounded out this universe by releasing Loki, TFATWS, What if? and Wandavision. But then recast everyone (including T'Challa) and peek into a parallel universe for another 10-12 years. Focus on X-Men vs. Avengers, then Doom/Galactus, then the Kree/Skrull War+Secret Invasion, then Korvac, then Annihiation Wave, then... - all set in their own universe with different faces donning the all-familiar suits/capes/shields/... How is that not a no-brainer?!
@@giosbizarreart9048 You're right. That's why I'd retool it: have both teams coexist peacefully for three phases, with X-Men cameos in Avengers solo flicks and vice versa, pepper in hints that something awful happened to Professor X and Magneto. Then have the third X-Men team-up movie end with the revelation that Onslaught (Magneto's electromagnetism boosted with Charles's telepathy) was held on a black site; the entity escapes and wreaks havoc. The Avengers intend to eliminate it/them while the X-Men are obviously conflicted. Boom: Civil War.
When MCU gets rebooted, the higher ups should get Cameron Douglas (Micheal Douglas son to play him) play a younger version of Hank Pym and be a founding avenger. Make that version of Hank be the creator of Ultron and become Yellowjacket.
Honestly I want more stand-alone projects from Marvel, like what DC used to do in its animated movies Because the MCU has become forced to be present in most Marvel projects, even if it has no relation to them
For real, MCU was the reason really for why Avengers Earth's Mightiest Heroes were discontinued and replaced with Avengers Assemble. I like Assemble, but it's heavily MCUfied. MCU immense succes has been a detriment for a majority if stuff and I hope Marvel don't bank on it too much again. Also bring back EMH.

it's not the actors that's the problem. it's the writers and directors, hollywood is were creativity goes to die. hell, with marvel they've been handed the golden goose in that all they had to do was pull from decades worth of stories, and they'd make a ton of money. but the writers and directors now can't leave well enough alone, they all need to push their version of the story, they need to push their bs politics onto the characters. not one of them can set aside their ego, and just write the story. at this point i'd be surprised if any of them even knows what the secret wars was.
Yea that’s how I feel. Recasting isn’t gonna change anything when the core problems r the writing, dialogue, cgi etc. putting a new coat of paint on a totaled car isn’t gonna make it work again…
THANK YOU. People that say stuff like “Only JK Simmons can EVER play Jonah” are so dumb to me. These are characters that have been drawn differently, had different takes from different writers, have been iterated on and changed for DECADES. If you can’t fathom another actor in the role stop watching the movies when they change actors. After 1989 Nicholson WAS Joker. He was the definitive live action take for a generation and he made that movie for so many. Imagine if in Dark knight Nolan just said “listen we can’t beat Nicholson so I’m just gonna bring him back”.
The notion that no one else can play character X is completely blown up by the fact that we have had God knows how many actors play Superman, Batman and Spider-Man.
if Marvel ever reboots I’d like to see Iron Man have just a mustache without the goatee like he had before the 90s, something similar to his father Howard Stark
The Marvel Reboot needs to have: A Hulk that isn’t just Banner with a rage mode A Hawkeye who is allowed to be cool A proper Ant Man and Wasp Carol Danvers who isn’t a glorified Karen with superpowers Black Panther before he was cool Characters that aren’t bargain bin versions of their MCU counterparts
3:21 In my opinion Chadwick boseman's Black panther should have been and still should be recast there's no reason they should have killed T'Challa in the MCU just to play some weird long game where Shuri is the Black panther for now until tatala's son also named tchalla is old enough to be king and be the Black panther guaranteed Marvel's going to age him up at some point soon when all they could have done to make this entirely easier was not kill off T'Challa the character when Bozeman died I hope they pivot and actually recast tchalla when they send me reboot after secret wars
Ryan Coogler wanted to kill tchalla to “honor” his friend but that’s the complete opposite. BP2 should have been delayed tbh but marvel was desperate to make a movie so having it taken place during the 5 years Thanos snap away all life would’ve been a great way to say good bye to Chadwick as Tchalla but not kill Tchalla all together post Endgame. recast Tchalla in a future movie
It's a cool idea given how many versions of Batman have been put to screens throughout the years. Although a shame the likes of Superman didn't get one ( Even if he doesn't have as many movies as Batman. ) I highly expect Spider-Man to join that list btw, it seems inevitable.
I find it weird cause 1. It's for stars/actors/real people idk if any other fictional character has a Hollywood star. 2. Don't homeless people sleep and or pee on most of Hollywood
Hearing you talk about recasting Wolverine was so validating because I'm so tired of people insisting he's the one and only actor who can do it. Istg last week I was trying to bring up examples like "Hugh Jackman just is Wolverine" or "he's got a perfect likeness" someone would say them right before I could actually state them it felt like I was going insane.
Thank you for doing this video. I thought I was alone in this thought. They have to recast these characters. Let other actors have other takes. Just like the comics when they get new writers. They don’t even need a story line to explain it just change the actor.
YES YES YES. I have always advocated for this. I don't watch these movies for the actors, I watch them because I love the characters and I want to see them on the big screen. I don't care if it's an A rank or a D rank actor. As long as they look and act like the characters.
A soft reboot is the way to go cause now they build it up from scratch. Like I see so many what ifs like what if marvel had the rights to all their characters from the start and stories some come up with are pretty interesting. So if marvel does that they can do what should’ve been like Spider-Man, Wolverine & Hulk being the big 3 with the Fantastic 4 standing by they side 2.
Thank you. I agree, it's time to recast T"Challa They should've never killed the character off, they could've put him in a coma and then changed his appearance in the future. Jr is not T'Challa, or a recast. I would welcome a variant. Well said.
I think you’re right, they should focus on recasting (like Black Panther should’ve been in the first place, even if not for Wakanda Forever specifically), but I think it still doesn’t get to the heart of the issue, which is we need better screenwriters to start with. Yes, better productions for these films overall, but the script is the blueprint, the backbone of every film or show. They don’t even just lay out how the story’s gonna go or how it unfolds, but also how things play out on set along with the directors’ input, guides said casting choices, guides the actors, the editors, so on and so forth. I know it’s a much more simple answer to the issues plaguing the MCU, but it’s the truth, damn it. Also seriously, they didn’t recast T’Challa in order to not replace Chadwick Boseman, yet since they still replaced the character with his sister and his secret son, they may as well have recast for later, suggesting that T’Challa had to be gone from Wakanda for a number of reasons. Put it to you this way, if Tom Holland died before filming a new Spider-Man film, how do you think people would react if they killed Peter Parker and went on with Miles Morales right after? I mean if they were consistent with their stance on recasting with Black Panther, then Indiana Jones wouldn’t be president rn. I say if you’re going to replace the actor’s would be position anyway, recast the character whilst continuing their legacy *and* pay your respects to actor that came before.
4:46 i'd laugh if at the end of secret wars deadpool just wakes up in a new universe and everything is different except him like the ending of flash or summ
this is exactly what i’ve been thinking since the incursions came about. a soft reboot in a new universe where some characters are still the same, and others are different. we don’t get all the lore dropped immediately, but we get told it over the course of the different movies, where we learn about this new universe and these new characters. Mutants have always been around, peter is a loner who never wanted to be apart of the avengers and is best friends with johnny storm. Basically make everything align better with the comics, while also keeping all the lore and casting that worked with the original series.
Wolverine is def my favorite superhero and have been wanting him to be recasted ever since X-men stand stand b/c I was never a fan of how fox portrayed Wolverine. Wolverine and Deadpool movie was the only live action adaptation that was close to the comic counter parts. That being said we need a new actor for Wolverine, to say Huge Jackman is the ONLY one able to play Wolverine is ridiculous given how he's the ONLY one that's ever been given an opportunity to play as Wolverine.
I want a full reboot after Secret Wars, recast all the heros and if some want to return like Cumberbatch and Tom Holland they can but they should start fresh. Whenever that film comes out, let’s say 2028. It would have been 20 years of the MCU and 30 years of marvel movies starting with Blade 1998. That would be a good way to say goodbye to the past and embrace the future since Disney owns all the rights to their heros except Spiderman
Have to reboot the Hulk starting with Grey Hulk, Doc Samson and the Leader. He should go to the Crossroads and meet Sym. He should fight the Red King and come back as World War Hulk. Or introduce Walter Langkowski and have him fight Wendigo in Canada as Alpha Flight is brought to the MCU.
I don’t get why we need new actors when we have so many characters they haven’t used . Outside of black panther who really needs to be recast we have a new black widow we have a new captain America .
@@Will_2233 like understand why the fired dumb reason he ain’t guilty but u should’ve stuck with kang and used someone else cuz with multiverse u can use different actors
The reason people say the MCU should have ended after endgame is because Kevin and Disney clearly didn't have a plan for the continuation. Most people were excited to see what they would do next, but they had nothing. No overarching story, no recast for t'challa, no connectivity for the new "Avengers", and the TV shows fell flat. Marvel and Disney are copying what marvel did in the comics with this female centric woke shit and they lost money, yet they are doing it again. I can't see them turning it around, I mean they literally just released Agatha all along, claiming it's the gayest marvel project after acolyte, the gayest star wars show flopped hard. Disney obviously doesn't care so neither should we.
16:30 the issue with this is we see Andrew Garfield and Tobey cameo in the sony spider verse which are now connected to the MCU multiverse so the contradiction is on Sony and Disney
I feel like they should do a mix of what crisis on infinite earths and the new ultimate universe did where it’s an amalgamation of different earths but also is an altered version of an existing universe
Thank you for making this. Actors dont / shouldn't make the characters. How do they expect to do secret wars without bringing back the main characters??
7:27 Yeah that was dumb. T’Chalka should be dead at this point. It literally goes against the canon of this universe. Black Panther had many other appearances in that universe where T’Challa was Black Panther.
Unpopular opinion I liked Thor Love and Thunder. However I do strongly agree that I want to see more new versions of these characters. Black Panther and wolverine definitely deserve new actors and the chance to delve into different aspects of their story. I also want Nightcrawler to be an important character again and even more so I would love to see them have a friendship on screen similar to their one in the comics! Wolverine and Nightcrawler are one of my favorite mutant tag teams and if they could just give us a pair of new actors then we could finally see them have their classic buddy adventures! Truth be told there’s a bunch of other X-men characters who who play off of Wolverine well that would be way too hard to just force Jackman’s Wolverine to be friends with. Plus he obviously wants to get away from what he was doing before. Think about it, most of the scenes in the new Deadpool movie are better suited for an R-rated film. You really think that after this movie Hugh wants to be in more pg-13 Marvel movies? I don’t see it! I agree with anyone who votes for a Wolverine recast!
I understand where you coming from about the universe designations, and your right, every canon multiverse is it's own seperate canon thing. But at the same time I can't help but feel that needing to fall back to thinking of it this way just highlights how these films completely miss the point of the multiverse. Why bother referencing the DCAU or the Teen Titans cartoon universes for just background fodder if your not going to give them lines and a real role in the multiversal crises story. Why bring back Spider-Man and his Amazing Friends from the 80s just to have them murdered by a vampire off panel? The whole point and fun of the multiverse is to bridge different canon continuities together, to let characters from different canons play together in the same toy box. Why does the MC2 or Renew Your Vows universes, continuities I like, I have to be treated like fodder and axed off for a mediocre to bad Spiderverse story? Crossovers should be a chance to see a sequel story to these left behind continuities that we'd be happy seeing as being just another episode in that universes ongoing stories. If your going to tell a bad story where it's important I keep in mind it's not truely canon to that original canon i love that was refrenced then why do it? You go and get the Spectacular Spider-Man voice actor back and animated him faithfully and everything only to make him behave in the most out of character way he could for his continuity Spider-Man. While go to the trouble to make an accurate looking Spectacular Spider-Man that we ultimately still have to accapt is only skin deep in their similarities? AND on top of that he's not even a significant role in the film, they broke the multiverse just to leave all the well known established versions of Spider-Man in the background and not really interacting with each other. I want a big fun scene where every cartoon Spider-Man from Dan Gilvezan to Drake Bell all get to meet, chat science and talk about the differences in their villains, love lives, and general experinces, just like we got in No Way Home. Is anybody out their arguing Toby Maguire wasn't really playing the Spider-Man from the Sam Rami canon, that that Spider-Man has his own not yet explored multiverse? No because it was a satisfyingly faithful adaptation that used the crossover to its near full potential. I just want to same care to be given to the treatment of the multiverse in existing continuities. Kinda the way the DCAU treated the Golden Age Earth 2 universe with care by not actually using the names of the Golden Age heroes when their story was going to be such a dark twist on their team, so they just made original, but similar characters to do that story with.
I always felt like there should be like 5+ year gap between recasting actors if the predecessor was active for a significant amount of time. Like how SM3 released in 2007 and TASM released in 2012
Personally, I think they should've gone the team-up/buddy-cop route for phase 4 with the heroes. The same way Deadpool & Wolverine worked, they should've done: Spider-Man & Hawkeye (Kate Bishop... I think Hayley & Tom would work well together) Antman and Falcon (Paul Rudd & Anthony Mackie ripping each other most of the movie lol) Thor & Bucky (a movie where Thor could be captured and Bucky has to lead a few Asgardians... Something) Give the movies that Captain America Avengers vibe where each MCU character solo film has another hero in the movie to establish more relationships before a big Avengers team-up. Spider-Man usually knows every New York hero yet, he's swung round to none of them. There are like 7 heroes in NY yet the city feels like it's not lived in by these many superheroes. Dr Strange is fighting a big ugly one eyed monster downtown... No Spider-Man swinging by.. No Human Torch flying by.. No Iron Man powering by.. No Daredevil jumping by.. It's ridiculous.
Its so hard to talk about it now because I always think about marvel needing a reboot but its actually necessary. We need a thor odinson (who can even team up with beta ray), a new tony, a new black widow, and hulk. Not a new actor for hulk necessarily but a new characterization
Man. Couldn’t agree more. I’ve always thought they were making g a mistake by rooting things in “real” time, and being so attached to certain actors. James Bond movies used to work like mainstream comics continuity. Audiences accepted the new actor as the same character even as decades passed. Recastings should not be a big deal.
Two big things about recasting: 1. Contracts that need to expire that Fox extended. And which the actors have exclusive rights to play thous lores. 2. lack of young talent in hollywood, for actor talking about patriarchy to hide the lack of talent and disinterest in character they suppose to play.
Pretty sure I remember when Chadwick Boseman died his family wanted Black Panther to be recast so that Tchalla can outlive their son's passing and remain a powerful hero for black children. But instead Marvel made a huge deal of it as an off screen death, unlike Iron Man who actually had a decent heroic passing and I don't know what to think of that exactly or how the MCU can even hope to rectify that by just bringing him back. Maybe there can be an alternate universe Tchalla similar to the UItimates version who was a mutant? I can kinda see the dynamic and the tragedy that might come from him and Shuri trying to match back a brother and sister relationship despite both being different people from different worlds. But it could mean we have two well deserved Black Panthers
I 100% Agree with this take after secret wars we definitely need a soft reboot and recast some characters like The OG Avengers especially T'Challa since it'll be years since Chadwicks death and the blow won't hurt as much by that time, Hulk needs to go back to being a savage, and Blade (the new one) needs to get off the ground, and lastly i agree with the wolverine take. Like everyone else i grew up with hugh jackmans wolverine but after S.W he needs to reture permanently bros almost 60😭
it makes sense for ppl to say no one can play iron man/cap again, they werent popular before and they did a good job. will iron man and cap be popular with new actors? Can they hold stand alone non connect universe movies like batman alone? They were not popular before so who knows, however wolverine was very popular before the MCU. yes i think ppl can play them again but its hard to recast for iron man, less difficult for cap.
How the fuck is is this "captain America and Iron weren't popular before the mcu" shit still being spread, iron man had a 40+ year solo comic, two animated series, was one of the main characters in one of marvels biggest events, he already had a planned movie where Tom cruise was supposed to play him
I have no problem with them not instantly recasting Hugh's Wolverine, simply because we now have the chance to see movies we've never seen before with his character-like him interacting with Tobey Maguire's Spider-Man, appearing in an Avengers movie, and possibly a Hulk vs. Wolverine movie. However, after that, he has NO purpose in the MCU anymore, and he should be recast by the end of the Mutant Saga.
I disagree with your take about the whole “the mcu should’ve ended after end game” point. I from a storytelling point of view it’d make sense since all the story lines were wrapped up and the ending made sense. I think what they should have done is focus on animation and make marvel stories that way. The current route they’re taking to lead up to a soft reboot has been disastrous and it would have been better to end on a high note than to assassinate what was once good
Even from a storytelling point of view Endgame being the finale while it could work isn't the best route as the only characters that were wrapped up were the OG Avengers, newer characters like Spider-Man and BP still had stories to tell and by ending it there you're robbing them of that opportunity. There's nothing wrong with the current route, the problem is how they went about it. And even with the issues the current MCU has, the overall quality is better than both phase 1 and 2 combined.
@@johnman8398 I really want what crack you’re smoking if you think the quality now is better than phase 1 and 2 because that’s shit take lmfaooo like objectively
Long story short, what we need is an interconnected Marvel universe that is in line with the comics cos like it or not, the MCU wasn't close to comic accuracy even from it's inception
I think for the new universe they should keep that retro futuristic aesthetic from the new fantastic 4 movie. Also about that universe designation thing, my headcanon is that it's actually earth 199999, but the characters within the mcu believe that it's earth 616.
I agree with all of this. After endgame I was like, "Ill stay tuned in albeit more selectively till after secret wars. After that it really depends on the soft reboot."
16:17 in ATSV it shows that Peter B. And most of the other cast are from "B" variants of their numbered universes, so Peter B. Is, within the movie's canon, from 616-B
True but i feel like allot of dc characters are able to be reinterpreted over and over unlike some of marvel character’s.

@@kail4997All adaptations of characters have strengths and weaknesses as an adaptation. There is no “definitive” adaptation.
People were mourning Ledger, understandable back then
I’ve never understood how people think another actor couldn’t play a particular character I’m mean why can’t a new actor get a chance to play iron man or captain America we need new actors for these characters.
And Thor. And Hulk. And Ant-Man, and multiple other Avengers.
These are Marvel characters. Marvel and DC have a vast multiverse with infinite universes, some with more changes, some with almost no changes.
Why can't more people play comic book characters? We have 3 live action Spider-Men already.

@@uchihabomber1296Its like folks forget actors age,get a lot more pricey and even reach a point where they understandably don't want to play the character anymore. People are more clingy these days. Look how hard they clung to Chadwick's mid/bad performance. But they insisted no one could replace him.
Don’t be surprised when Secret Wars comes out, pulls a Crisis on Infinite Earths from DC and reboots the whole franchise from scratch with new fresh faces as more and more people start to pine for Iron Man and Captain America content.
That's what I genuinely want.

I feel like the MCU should've at least take a 4-5 year hiatus to think about what the new saga should be about, who was gonna be the new focus center characters that will lead this new saga, maybe recast some actors, etc.
From a creative perspective you are absolutely right. Doubt they will wait 5 years for business reasons

That would be a hard reboot though
Thank you. I agree, it's time to recast T"Challa They should've never killed the character off, they could've put him in a coma and then changed his appearance in the future. Jr is not T'Challa, or a recast. I would welcome a variant. Well said.
Dude, EVERY word you said in the video is 100% spot on. This is a man of culture everyone.
I say if you’re going to replace the actor’s would be position anyway, recast the character whilst continuing their legacy *and* pay your respects to actor that came before.

this is exactly what i’ve been thinking since the incursions came about. a soft reboot in a new universe where some characters are still the same, and others are different. we don’t get all the lore dropped immediately, but we get told it over the course of the different movies, where we learn about this new universe and these new characters. Mutants have always been around, peter is a loner who never wanted to be apart of the avengers and is best friends with johnny storm. Basically make everything align better with the comics, while also keeping all the lore and casting that worked with the original series.

Whenever that film comes out, let’s say 2028. It would have been 20 years of the MCU and 30 years of marvel movies starting with Blade 1998. Disney obviously doesn't care so neither should we.
4:10 bro where the heck is that clip from
ua-cam.com/video/dpgsKFjzIOI/v-deo.htmlsi=8SViQkUKx22A3y8v
16:30 the issue with this is we see Andrew Garfield and Tobey cameo in the sony spider verse which are now connected to the MCU multiverse so the contradiction is on Sony and Disney
Never had a UA-cam video premise been so totally correct.
It’s not just marvel Hollywood needs new blood
in fact ,Marvel has many new actors every year, but……
Not possible as Gen Z and Alpha aren’t attractive enough to be megastars that can put butts in seats at the theatre.
If they do recast the avengers, I hope they have Hank Pyma DNA Janet be Ant Man and The Wasp for the future of the MCU.
The same way Deadpool & Wolverine worked, they should've done:
Spider-Man & Hawkeye (Kate Bishop... I think Hayley & Tom would work well together)
Antman and Falcon (Paul Rudd & Anthony Mackie ripping each other most of the movie lol)
Thor & Bucky (a movie where Thor could be captured and Bucky has to lead a few Asgardians... Something)
Give the movies that Captain America Avengers vibe where each MCU character solo film has another hero in the movie to establish more relationships before a big Avengers team-up.
Ngl itd be refreshing to see some recasts
"Till he's 90"
You gotta be from Philly with that peanut live clip 😂😂😂
Its so hard to talk about it now because I always think about marvel needing a reboot but its actually necessary. We need a thor odinson (who can even team up with beta ray), a new tony, a new black widow, and hulk. Not a new actor for hulk necessarily but a new characterization
First mistake: Deadpool must be changed as soon as possible
Second mistake: Wacanda line must be wiped out
I really like your Marvel videos
Tremendous video as always
Finally someone smart enough to understand the 616 situation
I agree about Thor. When they arrive in wakanda was epic. L&T was a crime
2:29 a lot of those arguments are valid
Two big things about recasting: 1. Contracts that need to expire that Fox extended. And which the actors have exclusive rights to play thous lores.
2. lack of young talent in hollywood, for actor talking about patriarchy to hide the lack of talent and disinterest in character they suppose to play.
It should have ended after endgame and reboot around 2024 with all characters available
3:59 who ever played that cameo comic accurate wolverine that’ll be actually quite cool to see as the MCU version
@@Tony-tq5cz retire
it makes sense for ppl to say no one can play iron man/cap again, they werent popular before and they did a good job. will iron man and cap be popular with new actors?
Hugh wants to play Wolverine until he doesn’t want to anymore.
That little cameo with Henry cavil as Wolverine proved Hugh can be replaced
They can also get a new actor to play Iron Man
I disagree with your take about the whole “the mcu should’ve ended after end game” point. I from a storytelling point of view it’d make sense since all the story lines were wrapped up and the ending made sense. I think what they should have done is focus on animation and make marvel stories that way. The current route they’re taking to lead up to a soft reboot has been disastrous and it would have been better to end on a high note than to assassinate what was once good
Marvel's been hit or miss when it comes to animation
After Avengers: Secret Wars, i think the mcu should have more movies that street-level and grounded stories more serious and darker tonew
I'm glad that this video seems to have reached the right audience
7:31 t’challa’s father was the black panther before he became the black panther
4:41 You sir, are about contradicting your own philosophy with Deadpool being played by Ryan Reynolds. He plays it too well.
Not so well that no one else can do it
Time for an ultimate-esque reboot that utilises the whole roster. For an inevitable Avengers crossover with the OG’s in like 10 years
Long story short, what we need is an interconnected Marvel universe that is in line with the comics cos like it or not, the MCU wasn't close to comic accuracy even from it's inception
Yep
Suprised people never noticed
I think for the new universe they should keep that retro futuristic aesthetic from the new fantastic 4 movie. Also about that universe designation thing, my headcanon is that it's actually earth 199999, but the characters within the mcu believe that it's earth 616.
They don't believe it, it is, because this is an adaptation, a completely different multiverse, and we've seen eveidence of this time and time again.
…spot on about Hulk!
I agree with all of this. After endgame I was like, "Ill stay tuned in albeit more selectively till after secret wars. After that it really depends on the soft reboot."
If hugh came back it'd have to be another multiversal event after a while in the soft reboot and its gotta be as old man logan
I'm hoping that this is happening after Avengers Secret Wars in the MCU with everyone be played by new actors
impossible ,some Actors have long-term contracts with marvel
@@WARDTFUHUAEDTFYGUJOKB Let's see if Kevin Feige and the rest of the producers and directors can work something out
16:17 in ATSV it shows that Peter B. And most of the other cast are from "B" variants of their numbered universes, so Peter B. Is, within the movie's canon, from 616-B
