  • The electrical component to your starter-the ignition switch, is a common part to wear out on Honda Accords. When you hear a "whine" sound when turning your key instead of the engine turning, that is the sign that your ignition switch is going bad. The replacement is actually very easy, taking off the steering column covers and the bottom dash piece are the most difficult part of the process. The part can be found at AutoZone, O'Reilly's, & NAPA. The part number at AutoZone is: LS1487.
