Hi there, my name is Leo and run a studio on the westside of Norway where I do music and video stuff for youtube. I also have a band called Frog Leap, where we do my metal covers live.
For my covers I play everything myself as well as record, mix, master, shoot and edit the music & videos.
I never in a million years thought anyone could do a proper cover of this song. Yet here we are. Absolute masterpiece
Check out the Charm City Devils' version
See Miley...sic!
Tyminski is the only country artist I like. I feel like every other country artist is doing it wrong. Lol
Home Free does an awesome cover of this song
@@thedumbnicname Yes they do! Thank you so much!
I did an acoustic cover of this 8! years ago, so felt it was time to go metal:) What do you wanna hear next? Let me know in the comments!
how about “Straight Up” by Paula Abdul? it’s definitely a catchy song and you could make it ear palatable.
“Regulate” by Warren G, please
any song from Tenacious D
Please cover "We are the world" from the USA for Africa album
The Devil went Down to Georgia. Please.
As an Appalachian Kentucky life long resident and quite constantly in sorrow 🤘👍 approved
Psychiatrist: Don't worry, Leo Mustachioli can't hurt you
Leo Mustachioli: 0:22
I appreciate this comment so much 🤣
HOT DAMN it's the soggy Botton boys!
I shouldn't feel as hype about this cover and comment as I am but DAMN today just became a good day.
thats some mighty fine pickin an a singin
"Those boys ain't white! They ain't even old timey!"
It's the Froggy Bottom Boys....
IS YOU IS, or IS YOU AIN'T mah consitchincy?
"no way this could translate well into metal" I thought originally. Why do I ever doubt this wonderful channel?
Acdcs thunderstruck was covered by a bluegrass band an it worked
Leo,loveya bro!!!
Charm city devils covered this too
I had my doubts as well...... I really need to quit doubting Leo on being able to pull everything out of his hat!
Blues and bluegrass play very well when transposed to metal. If you look at basically anything Pantera has done for example, it's all based in scales and patterns that came straight out of the blues (Cowboys from Hell?).
"WHHHHOOOOOOOOOWEEEEEE! That twas some mighy fine pick'in and singin'." - Blind fat guy in movie "Brother Where Art Thou"
What I like most about this guy is that he does most of it all solo. Literally a 1-man band! That makes his work more epic than epic.
I'm a simple man.
I see a new Leo video, I click like, and then listen.
The man can play! The man is talented! The man is creative! The man is hilarious!
BUY THE ALBUMS!!
already got ‘em all...🤘🏻😉
Shawn Shotaholic then you are just amazing 😉
already bought 2 of them, getting them as fast as i can afford them!
Jake Jekel yeah you’re wicked too lol
Hab auch alle Alben. Zumindest bis zur 27. die neueren sind leider nicht mit im Komplettset enthalten
Damn man, you have some real comedic talent as well as music, someone needs to give you a variety show thats a mix of music and comedy like they did back in the good ol' days. It would appear you could be the producer, director, head writer and lead actor for the show as well.
My dad died when i was in high school. I didnt know how to handle it and i was just put in charge of his music at his wake. It was a lot of bob dylan and the entire soundtrack of this movie (oh brother where art though, my dad was a shrimper in south GA and looked like george clooneys twin, especially in the perfect storm) and he would have loved this. This is so cool.
I'm from KY, and I was raised in those hills and on that music....you did a great job Leo!!
I’m in Louisville myself
KY here too. Corbin. And Leo is the man !!!!
Rowan County here
Elizabethtown Ky checkin in 😁
Eastern KY here too
Everything this man does is absolute genius
"That was some mighty fine pickin' and singin'!"
Only 4 of us can write.
That's the way that song was meant to be played
Soggy Bottom Boys!
HOT DAMN!
Froggy Bottom Boys
NOPE! Dick Burnett, OR tHE sTANLEY bROTHERS
Sloppy Bottle Toys
wonder how much he got paid to sing in a can
Where the River Flows by Collective Soul.
The song wants to be heavy, it's just not quite there.
wher the river flows by collective soul.....i forgot that one existed, and yes it sounds great, i was thinking of where the river goes by stone temple pilots when i read your comment, both would be great to cover
Excellent choice.
This guy did a decent metal cover of it but I think Leo would bring his unique style to it.
ua-cam.com/video/dmmOSyewP94/v-deo.html
yeah, had to think of that one, too! :D
Collective Soul is great, Shine is one of my favorite songs of all time.
to say that you're sick would be a understatement , so thank you so much. MORE!!
I received a text saying I won a guitar, just wondering if it was a scam or If for once in my 68yrs did I actually win something . pls reply if real. still love the Frong Leap studios anyhow.
KENTUCKY MAN COMMENTING HERE.
This is second only to the original! I LOVE IT!
We need “Devil Went Down To Georgia” RIP Charley Daniels
yeah
i second that notion!
Tell him that , I would love to see it too.
THIS!!!!!!
Charlie
As a huge Bluegrass music fan, all I can say is rock on. That was great!
The veronicas untouched cover
Leo is a friggin Champion.
Very very cool! I was also born and raised in Ole Kentucky!!!! Metal forever!!!!!!!
people say: I want this cover, make this song, but nobody says: Leo, how are you?
Nice cover! I remember that I once asked for this cover😂
incorrect. I've extended the how are you's and hope all is well's and thanks for the good workx. never a response. I don't expect one either. im sure he passes over those comments with "meh.."
Me, thinking to myself a few weeks ago: I sure wish I could find more bluegrass/metal mash ups.
Leo, using his long range telepathy on me: say no more
Listen to the native howl they're a Thrash Grass band
Iron Horse if you don't already know them.
Gangstagrass is pretty dope also. Not metal grass but still something to check out.
Thank you for the clean vocals, and for not just hitting open E and the double bass drums as fast as you can and calling that shit a song. Nice to hear real metal.
Holy crap, how was this the first song I have heard by you? Literally just spent the past 4 hours playing catch up on your songs. Food for thought, you would melt ears off with your musical genius on a Rag'n'bones Man- Human metal cover. Keep up the awesome work, your killing it bro!
Took me 3 days to get off the Leo trip good luck everyday is a little easier
Took me 3 days to get off the Leo trip good luck everyday is a little easier
Please tell me you’ve found his cover of Adele??
Absolute MASTERPIECE! That was my intro to Leo
Secondly, his cover of Toto’s “Africa”
Jerry Reed - Eastbound and Down. I think you could an interesting cover on that classic from Smokey and the Bandit.
That would be awesome. Or she got the goldmine I got the shaft lol
HELL YEA
I just posted the same thing before I read your comment! Lol.
Oh man, Eastbound and Down would be amazing in Metal!
Oh. My. God. That...would be amazing.
Oh my goodness this is the greatest cover of this song I ever heard!
Leo, you are the hero 2020 needed! Love your work, man. My daughter loves metal now thanks to your covers.
Thanks to Leo i can show my children remastered classic songs
I... I was not expecting this and I know I should have been. *hangs head in shame at doubting Leo*
Shame on you.
I did too, doubt Leo that is.
Nobody ever expects the Froggy Bottom Boys!
Mert and Aloysius will have to sign X's, only 4 of us can write.
Damn Leo has t be one of the most talented UA-camrs I know. The man can do it all! I love your music, and I feel like every single video you've made managed to just brighten my day.
Thank you for your great content!
I like that you did a cover of a cover of a cover all the while covering
Coverseption!
I was literally thinking that
Legend has it, every time this song is played a banjo is born.
At least 50 banjos are my responsibility
And a new mullet
Harvestor Of Constant Sorrow - The Native Howl. Basically a mashup up of the two songs and its amazing
Amazing...ly bad
Me: I wonder what songs might translate well into Metal
Leo: ALL OF THEM!!!!!!
I refuse to believe this song wasn’t performed by anything else other than quadruplets
Well that worked surprisingly well...
Leo!!!!!!! You crushed this one man!!!! This makes me happy
You folks got it
"Man of Constant Sorrow, Take One" ---- I watched that a hundred times, then I watched all your videos, ROCK ON!
Awesome, would love to hear Spaceballs the metal cover.
WE CAN'T STOP, WE HAVE TO SLOW DOWN FIRST!!!
Omg yes yes please yes!!
Jews In Space metal version
Omg I need this lol
Whoever that studio guy is sure made the band sound awesome 👌
Ok sooo this song is one of my favorite movie songs of all time. NEVER IN A MILLION YEARS did I think Metal!! So awesome.
Funny, I was just watching Oh Brother Where Art Thou and was thinking how great it would be be for Leo to cover this song.....and he did- three years ago! Another great one!
Please do 'weird science' from Oigo Bongo !
Billy Joel's "We Didin't Start the fire" please - thank ya!
Good idea !
Yes!
I’ve been saying Pressure by Billy Joel for years now
would be totally amazing
I can already hear it
No one's here for looks, we are all here for the listen, sounds good 👌 👍
Actually, the moustache looks pretty good....
Long-time fan. Another gem.
The song..... in this form..... it’s......it’s a MASTERPIECE!!! 😭❤️
I love this song in most formats this is something else.. Love the sound coming from the "can". I POUND this song daily. Have on multiple mediums.
This dude is fing talented asf
I like this guy he's got talent I would buy his albums all day
Gotta do "In Hell I'll Be In Good Company" by The Dead South
You could do an awesome video for that!!
Banjo Oddesey would be interesting as well.
Shane Ducholke omg yessssss
Definitely agree
Agreed!
please lmao
I know no one cares, but that"s almost exactly how I have my drums set up and I have the same bass guitar as well! I really appreciate this!
love leo the bass on this the drums evrything he does is superb ,
Your talent has no bounds. It amazes me how you can take a song, any song and THRASH IT!! Keep up pumping out this insanely Great music!!!!
Good job by the "Froggy" Bottom Boys. My wife would like to request "Word Up" by Cameo.
LeVar Burton would approve!
Timothy Barney 🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼
Nice choice
Korn already did that, I'm sure it'll sound pretty similar
@@HackingWithPanda Yea, Korn, Willis and Gun have all done that. All different. Betcha Leo can make a different one. 🤘🏼
Copperhead Road just has to happen
THIS
Yes
Please make this happen!
Yes it does.
Most defiantly 🤘🤘
You and the internet at the same place and time.....yeah, this is gonna be good.... maybe even save the planet.... yeah...
Freaking love how he looks at the camera and nods his head. And when he says "Take One" and smiles at the camera. Haha!
I grew up twenty minutes from Dr Ralph Stanley and knew him as well as the local public could. Leo’s cover of this song is the only non bluegrass version that does the song justice and sounds awesome! Need to lose the fun mustache and put on a layer of coal dust around the eyes for hillbilly authenticity lol. Leo, your stuff is addictive!!
1:56 ....if that doesn't make you bang your head, you're probably dead!
This has to be one of your best vids ever :D
I came here to say this, even from about 1:45 is awesome!
This one is easily top five in every category.
@@81millionvotes Yeah...with that buildup the heavy part hits even harder!
Leo = Magic Metal Machine!
You are now my favorite metal cover artist. This... was... *chefs kiss*
"Rock Lobster" by The B-52's
Great cover Leo! 😁
Blue Oyster Cult- Godzilla or
Prince - Raspberry Beret next please. 😊
Magilla480 Godzilla would be awesome
Also voting for Godzilla!
Good ideas
Yes Godzilla
Godzilla for sure
What a treat for the ears and brain!
I have been 1 year without seeing your covers (youtube is huge !!!). I have recently returned to see them and I see that you have overcome yourself. And I have also seen that what you have improved the most is playing the drums and that is very very great. You are very very great.
holy sh!t!!!!!!! you're acoustic cover was great but
this is so amazing .you sir are a f**king genius
What did you spend your Covid dollars on?
Most people: Things they need
Me: All the Leo albums
(Things I didn't know I needed until watching hours of your content, thank you Leo for being awesome)
Golf clubs and building a new water cooled PC...
This guy is nuts 100%.
Three years latter, and this song is still THE MASTER PEICE.
If somebody don't sign this guy, the god-damned competition will!
2020 theme song right here!
Master of Metallization!
Missed you Leo and gang!
I saw the title and immediately thought ‘this should be interesting’. After watching, I was right! Way to kill it! I have yet to be disappointed in any of your jams. Rock on brother!
You always amaze me Leo. Easily one of the talented men in music, with a never-ending sense of humor. Well done.
I love how at first the guy in the booth is confused and then starts jamming greatest cover ever
Every single song is pure gold.
Easy bound and down- Jerry Reed... its in desperate need of the leofication
As much as I think that song needs to be left alone I would like to hear a Leo version
I love Smokey And The Bandit, I have a Trans Am, and I Love the original song. But I would love to hear Leo's take on it.
Good call.
For the money, for the glory, and for the fun, but mostly the money
Neff neff neff. Dat was some mighty fine a pickin and a tingin. $10 a piece.
Metal just makes everything better!
🔥every time I hear it. # Leo for rock and roll hall of fame.
Not a common song to hear covered, let alone so damn well and in a different style! By far my favorite song from Ol' Brother, Where Art Thou?
Yes. It brought a tear to my eye as well. Outstanding!
I paused the video with a frog on the screen. I just wanna say I am superxcited bout tjis one
That brought tears to me ears.
Man this was a great cover one of my close friends always did this song in karaoke. He passed away in may it was deffinately great to hear this song with a twist
My neighbours love this song so much that they threw a brick into my window, so they can hear it better \m/ \m/ \m/
Get original stop stealing comments
Let us not overshadow the actual video with how great the sound is...Pure gold with the "intro"
I didn't know I needed this until I got here.
How about flipping the concept a little? I've always wanted to hear "Sons of Northern Darkness" by Immortal, but played like a traditional metal-song with clean-vocals.
OMG, this man is one of the most talented musicians I've ever heard/seen. He's also got me to like metal when nobody in 40 years could (and they tried).
Leo is phenomenally talented!!! Checkout his Shiprocked videos with the full FrogLeap Studios crew and appearances with metal and rock legends.
Welcome to the club
@@Sadler2010 Also seems like one of the coolest guys you could ever want to hang out with.
that bridge and solo were ON POINT. Magnificent.
Leo makes you love songs you hate loved this song now even more
