The younger generation has a gift from the past in Blackberry Smoke. The perfect glimpse of what came out of the south back in the late 60's and 70's. Throw back to the Allman's, Skynyrd, 38 special, Wet Willie, Kudzu and the like. The free concerts in Piedmont park in Atlanta were legendary. There were many of us back then and all of us could do it live. Keepin' southern rock alive and yet they add their own special flavor. The real deal. You young folks enjoy them because "they ain't many left" that can do it like this anymore lol! Kudos guys, you do us old rockers proud!!
"Kudzu"???? Were you by chance my middle school social studies teacher??? Even your screen name is similar. That teacher was related to someone in Kudzu. Mr. Sideburns... is that you???!
I'm right behind ya brother! Hitting the big 6's next week! watching this and wondering why taylor swift and Beyonce exist when we have genuine music like this?
56 here and same. I found them…by this video as a random suggestion this summer. Totally hooked and deep into a few of their records now. Hell yea. 👊🏻👍🏻 🍻
I had never heard them until I stumbled across them on Saturday. I'm 70 and this music reminds me of the local Henry Family. Now I can't turn them off. They are fantastic...🎉❤
This is the very foundation that CCR, John Fogarty, drugg out of the swamps and has made ROCK and ROLL the music of this nation. Thank you all for giving us something that had a beat .
WHY do these guys so strongly remind me of Doctor Hook and the Medicine Show, and Black Oak Arkansas? Their style, their look, their mannerisms absolutely SCREAM "70's Southern Rock. Not to mention their brazen, unflinching talent. This look, this swagger, this attitude is what we Southern youth absolutely strived for in our time.
Right on Sean. That “dude” is Charlie Star, and he sure can. Their own music is very good, but they love to cover music from the Classic Era. Their live sets are a nice mix of both, which audiences appreciate. 🤘😎
@@SharksSeanOSullivanSharkey That’s awesome Sean. Here’s wishing you and yours a great night out. Cheers from New Orleans, and have a drink on me. Regards
I caught one of the first concerts of the newly formed Stevie Ray Vaughan and Double Trouble at the Hwy 16 Raceway in Poteet, TX. They were in the middle of a summer concert lineup that starred Heyoka, a big San Antonio band at the time. When he started I was facing away talking to my friends. After about 30 seconds of Stevie jamming Texas Flood my jaw dropped and when I turned around he was just standing there up front, head down just going to town on his guitar. It was definitely my Woodstock moment. I could tell he was great.

I’ve seen them several times and talked with them . Absolutely the best live show I’ve ever seen and I’ve seen lots of bands. Good bunch of down to earth guys that love what they do.
These guys and the Black Crowes are two of the best southern rock bands of all time. Something about the guitar and piano combo at the beginning tugs at the heart. Love southern rock.
Charly and the boys simply can play ANYTHING and make their own song out of it. Little Feat, Stones, Aerosmith etc. And it simply sounds great and shows their huge respect to all of those bands we all love
Having never been familiar with 'Man of Constant Sorrow' prior to hearing the fictitious 'Soggy Bottom Boys perform it in the movie, 'Oh Brother Where Out Thou", it struck a chord in me. In fact, I get a tear of joy whenever I hear it now. How's that for irony?🤣That said, the BBS boys do that song justice!😊
