I love the story about how Dan told his wife he was going to be singing in the movie. She supposedly said, "So, people hear your voice but see George Clooney's face? Where do I sign up?"
Lol no he told her “so you’ll hear my voice, but it’ll be coming out of George Clooney’s face” to which his wife responded “that’s all I’ve ever wanted” 😂
That is no lie. I listen to metal, oldies, singer/songwriter artists, all kinds of music. The genre doesn't matter. This band is perfection in every bit of their execution. The vocals are spotlessly in tune, the flat-picking is always flawless. Their tempo and rhythm is locked down tight as a nut. They all swing along DEAD ON the beat, and they don't need a drummer. Yep. One of the best bands in the whole world, regardless of musical style.
I came here after I found out the name of the REAL singer behind George Clooney's performance in "O Brother Where Art Thou". Dan Tyminski is BRILLIANT! I love his voice! 🎶
I could put this on a continuous loop and it might be hours before I realized how much time had gone by. Dan and Union Station just nail this song. If it could be done any better I don't know how. Congrats to all and thank you so much.
I have to agree, though I really really enjoy seeing George Clooney dancing to it. I've been watching various versions over and over all night and this is my favorite.
I love this song! I went to a Karaoke bar one night and took my banjo, I had the DJ put a second mike for my banjo, I sang this pretty good and played banjo, Crowd went nuts dancing and singing along with me, A few girls even rushed the stage rubbing on me, Sheese, I had a lot of fun, and had a lot of people buy me drinks , Even the DJ was impressed, I got a lot of compliments and was just happy to do it even though I was wondering what they would think about my choice of song. Geeze I was like a bluegrass star for a bit! LOL
Hard to express how much I LOVE this song! The phrasing, harmonics, etc. Just beautiful! And not very easy to do. "That's some mighty fine pickin and uh singin!"
Man i watched brother were art thou im like oh $hit when i listened to this song this $hit had me with goose bumps my friends i would just put it on and play it they would be tapping they feet moving thier heads like who the hell is this if this is blue grass they got that shit down. The music is soul touching yall go now i am a 54 year old black woman who grew up in the bronx ny and im telling you if they played this music and gave us a chance we like the music its awesome keep up to good work
Without Allison Krauss this song would have no ground.... 🥺 without Dan Kaminski this song would have no soul or standing and thats in God!!!😊 God bless this man and pray he does many more like this!
REALLY well-done song! This particular number strikes me as being equal parts bluegrass and blues. Alison Krauss and Dan Tyminski just blew me away with it!
The pulse of this song is something else! wow it just takes over. It's a beautiful feeling. And what a great arrangement with the violin, guitars and mandolin and his voice! Just so great
Allison Krause was excellent with this band. Today, not so much. I miss the beautiful music they made together and this is a prime example of that talent.
Good music is it's own genre. I can listen to this and get the same emotions as listening to certain Nine Inch Nails songs. Music is so awesome that way. Great song, great version, just greatness. Sublime.
@@scottbrannan4817 Dirt is a top 5 all time album for me. I love AIC. The harmonies Staley and Cantrell came up with were amazing. RIP Mike Starr and Layne Staley
I loved the movie & this is my favorite song from the movie. It's the best! It funny that I now live in Kentucky (home state of George Clooney & bluegrass music! )
Hot Damn! It's The Soggy Bottom Boys!
I'm gon give $10 to sing in the cup

For everyone who hasn't realized it yet, Dan is the actual voice-over for Clooney when Constant Sorrow was sung in the movie.
💯💯💯
After we've started watching the video is too late to mention that.
I knew that
Badass song
No shit
That time Alison Krauss became a backing musician in her own band.
Sawing that fiddle
I came here because I wanted to see and hear the people who actually did this tune. Not disappointed.
This song was written by Dick Burnett in 1913 and was made famous by the Stanley Brothers in the 1950s.
Dan Tyninski's voice is the pure sound of Bluegrass music. I can just see Jimmy Martin tapping his foot and singing along up in the clouds.
This is one of the best bands in the world.

Not a country music fan or bluegrass fan but this song crosses over. Well written and this performance was fire!
The very best version of this great song it is some mighty fine sangin and a Picken.
Try Geoff Castellucci s version. He has a one of a kind bass and five octave range voice: ua-cam.com/video/JQYYXN_Lilg/v-deo.html
Bellissima Musica, Napoli
he's got the mountain voice. very good I hope he got enough credit for that song.
One of the greatest songs ever made
Someone needs to stop the show and yell out to the crowd "Is you is or is you aint my constituents?"

The voices are perfect. I bet this is the band that did the track for the movie.
indeed it is. dan tyminksi is the guy. check out 'the boy who wouldn't hoe corn' if you'd like to hear him sing on another level.
Yep O brother where art thou!
They don't make music like this anymore. Unless you want to hear it, over and over again!
Very sad song with a happy tune/beat. Twangy unique voice. Just wonderful.
