Hi there, my name is Leo and run a studio on the westside of Norway where I do music and video stuff for youtube. I also have a band called Frog Leap, where we do my metal covers live.
For my covers I play everything myself as well as record, mix, master, shoot and edit the music & videos.
Leo, you can never die. There are approximately 16 quintillion songs still in need of the metal treatment.
He needs to donate his DNA to science so we can clone him until he has succesfully metallized every song and melody imaginable
exactly !
@@ryanparker4996 a bit creepy but I'm 100% for it!
With more shitty music being made every day... Let the cloning begin!!!
Best Leo comment ever!!
This is enough metal to rebuild both Death Stars.
Funniest comment hands Down! Cheers!
Do it.
😆
Both?
Freebird makes me cry. Like full on ugly crying. it came on the radio as I got the call that my cousin Zachary passed away. This is the first time I've heard this song without bursting into tears. Yeah, the tears are flowing, but I'm not bawling my eyes out like I do with every other version of this song, and I have @Frog Leap Studios and Leo to thank for it.
I always listened to it after every break up I've been through, I even still come back to listen to it cause I love this song so much. sorry about your cousin
That’s p gay dude
I just always thought of it as shit, the party's over song, like on the movie Dazed & Confused, and was like it was sad because you didn't wanna see it go...
@PaulieAronson It's called being a human and having emotions, try finding some sometime.Even grown ass men cry and if you say they don't your a flat ass liar.
@@Platypus680 Bet you're a blast at parties.
I'm 3 years late 🫨
You have many songs to enjoy. Welcome to the club.
So do i 😂😂😂
Me too
Same..
Right?? Like when did THIS happen
We have reached a moment in time when there needs to be a satellite radio station that plays nothing but Leo 24/7.
\m/ \m/
lets make that happen! it would be my only station.
Hell yeah!
The Leo channel , take my money
Id subscribe!
Forget satellite radio. They reduce the quality of the stream to the point that it sounds like shit. I'd rather subscribe to his pateron and get the lossless songs that way.
I didn't know until now that Free Bird NEEDS a banjo in it.
Ikr I never thought psychosocial would work with a banjo either
The banjo is the best part of the cover
Just needs some cowbell now 😂
@@tylerdurden5122what more cowbell is to Fear the Reaper is what more banjo is to Free Bird
Well know U know that its a free birrd😅🎸🔥
I knew it was a legit cover when he stood up and yelled "FREEBIRD!" :D
This dude is a true artist, period.
Rock on dadio!!
This was a bold move. To take what's arguably the greatest rock song and make it your own. Well done sir!
I approve and skynyrd would as well 🤘🏻
I'll argue with that statement, there's a couple others stairway to heaven
@@johnniesoesbee7015 arguably does imply that there are other possibilities.
Yes I was like oh please dont F*ck this up... but I had Faith lol
The dude turned baby shark into a metal hit. Im pretty sure he has no boundaries. Boldness is a way of life for him.
Play some Freeeeee Biiiird! What do you wanna hear next? Let me know in the comments:)

I'm 62 years old. Been listening to Free Bird for years. That was fucking cool. I want to go home and try playing it that way. Right on.
I'm 48, but still. This is an awesome rendition of a great song and a whole lot of fun to play!
Leo produces a lot of great covers, but this one is exceptional. It is simply outstanding! And Leo's self-mocking "meh" at the end of the song shows that he knows it.
Me: How the faaak can you metal up Free Bird???
Me 5 minutes later: Oh.
Hopefully that will blow the minds of all the freetards still out there.
Nicely done leo
Same
Same here. 😮😁
I was thinking the same thing
Dude do Boston’s “More than a Feeling”

Great idea!!!
Hell yeah !!!
Ooooh yuuuurrrrr
Agreed
This is usually one of those songs that people really shouldn't mess around with. However, you did well on this. That banjo part totally fit. Cheers!
Every time I think "wow it would be cool if someone did a nice metal cover of this" this guy has it 10/10
Someone: "You can't "metalize" Freebird"
Leo: "Hold my Legos..."
LEGO* no S
@@guitarmaniac83 Multiple Lego = Legos
So far I think Someone is still correct. I wouldn't really classify this as metal. At least not the first half of the song. I was hoping to hear a true metal cover, and in my opinion, this doesn't really qualify. I saw Lynyrd Skynyrd in concert about 25 years ago, and the most memorable song of all was of course them playing Free Bird live. This version is only BARELY heavier than the way they perform it live, so again, I wouldn't really classify this as a metal cover. It's a really cool cover, but it's not that different than how Skynyrd plays it. I'm a tad disappointed.
@@jonnysmooth6969 I'm with @inflames187 on this one. Lego® is a brand. You can have one Lego® brick, or a shit-ton of Lego® bricks.

"Dust in the Wind" by Kansas, the lyrics are so metal already :)
He did their other well known song
@@chadfalardeau5396 Couldn't hurt. He already has the collab guy for the job, and they both have the wigs and costumes.
Yessss I need that
Never was much of a fan of Free Bird, but this was a fantastic cover of the song. Back in the late 70's early 80's every concert one went to had the guy in the audience at some point yell, "play Free Bird". myself and my friends always confused the band playing by yelling, Play "Roundabout"!
Do it!
Do it Leo!
Play "Roundabout"! It begs to be metalized!!!
Awesome cover. 2006, friend of mine died on his 18th birthday. His name was Jovie. We played the original at the funeral. Pastor started laughing towards the end. Song finished. He said, "this has to be the longest song I've ever heard at a funeral". We all started laughing. All of a sudden, a curio cabinet catches on fire. Pastor goes, "yep, I guess he hasn't left the building yet and really liked the song". Lol
😂🤘🏻🔥🍻 hell yeah
Great freaking story!!! Rip brother I never met but respect anyways!!! \m/
So glad you have that memory and that you shared it. I hope we all end our journey with a story that makes people we never knew smile.
@@deeanna5814 what's crazy is you have the same name as his sister. But thanks for the comment. GOD bless.
Great story lol. I only had a half sleeve tattoo done for my friend who died at 19. I wish I could play a instrument. Ur friend was lucky to have family and friends who knew he would appreciate yall playing at his "last show". Good on yall
"I forgot my mustache" needs an extended version.
Yes indeed!!
I think many of his "buy my covers" songs are actually pretty catchy. I'd be interested to hear more original music from Leo.

Small world. 😎👍
I'm an early 80s kid but Skynyrd and Steve Miller are always in my Playlists somewhere lol
An instant classic! Now, instead of saying we need more cowbell I can say we need more banjo! 🤘🤘❤🤘🤘

Leo is my Dr Disrespect of music.... pushing boundaries full force, and that is in NO DISRESPECT to Leo and what he has given me, us, all
This is the song my husband listened to religiously before he passed away. Love the cover Leo... but the lyrics still rip my heart out of my chest . ✝️ RIP Rich Jerome. ✝️ Love you more then life itself. ✝️
Leo's outfit for this song: Lenard Slashard.
Ill come back and listen to this cover every now and then and each time, no matter how prepared i am, the solo always makes me feel like the kid who gets his skin blown off in that Sega CD commercial

Two words yelled by a drunk guy at every concert for the last 30 years...FREE BIRD!!!
And that guys never been wrong.

It could be worse. I've heard drunk chicks say, play fly by Kravitz
Gre as t job on free bird Leo!!!
@@chelostyles4912 what's wrong with fly away???
Is Leo’s goal to every classic song better by shredding it? He never disappoints me. He’s amazing.
Leading up to the pandemic, I was in a side project with Skynyrds drummer Artimus Pyle. 73 years old and still beating the shit out a set of drums.
I think Leo gets a pass on the generally accepted "never cover Freebird" rule on this one. Deeecent
I'll be the first to comment on this. If anyone's going to cover this it's going to be Leo and it's going to be something like Leo does because only Leo can do what Leo does!!!
The original is okay. Maybe I just burned out on it because Rock 105 in Jacksonville played it 10 times a day everyday. Regardless, this version is 1000x times better.
That's the best response to someone shouting freebird ever.
Leo, that's an amazing job. My absolute respect.
Skynyrd is smiling down on you for this!!! 💯💯💯💯🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Leo, I have heard that song for 45 years...this is now my favorite version!
Why not 45 years lol everyday freebird my friend
How old are you know
This man just took "Play Free Bird!" to a whole new level.
LMFAO The Banjo solo followed by a guitar matching riff, rhythm guitar and a mouth riff fill lol. Came out great
All that AND a banjo solo! Awesome.
"Pressure" by Billy Joel or "Immigrant Song" Led Zeppelin
I always wanted to cover Pressure. It always sounded like it would kick heavy

Frk yeah Immigrant Song 👍 Suicidal Tendencies did a good cover of that (as Infectious Grooves)
@@djedeye2665 I have yet to hear a bad cover of Immigrant Song, and having Leo do a cover would be friggin' epic.
Both of those would be amazing, but I want him to cover "The Ocean" by Led Zeppelin the most
I thought the yelling Freebird at every concert meme was an American thing. Glad to see troll memes transcend boundaries and unite us all.
Him speaking English helps.
I think it was started in Chicago by a radio DJ named Kevin Mathews or Mathew in the 90s.
@@deadname... it's a lot older than that. My step dad used to play in a cover band in the seventies and eighties and in every bar there'd be some jackass yelling "FREEBIRD".

Lovely cover. Free Bird is one of my favorites. When I listen to it I remember all the older friends and relatives that isn't with us anymore. True rebels that now are free birds ✌️
Woohoo! Awesome arrangement, Leo, Thanks!

This was the first time I was concerned about you covering a song, so it took me 2 days to listen to it. One of the greatest songs ever written. And once again, you didnt disappoint bro. It rocks and you didnt butcher it one bit!
I can't be the only one who was rockin' too hard to even notice the missing mustache.
I thought it was deliberate, like the drummer was a different character.

I am somewhat of a purist when it comes to this song, but Leo my man, you kept the spirit of the song intact! It didn't bring the tears free bird usually does for me but you definitely got me head banging! Love you man!! We'll done!
The older the song, the less Leo has to alter to make it metal. Just goes to show how rock and metal have drifted apart over the decades, imo.

Great cover, Leo! I love the stereotypical "Freebird" yell from the douche in the crowd--I used to do that to my brother who played lead in a couple local metal bands in Colorado Springs. Hope you're doing well, brother. Much love from midwest Divided States of 'Murica!
Last time I yelled that at a House Band was right after the singer asked on Mic. "Any requests?"

F*CK!!!!!!!! the banjo/guitar part was FREAKING EPIC! Love the cover... Thanks Leo!
Best fight scene ever.
This song goes so well with this scene, maybe even better with this metal version. I saw a critic that said Kingsman was "the meeting of a Chateau Yquem and a Big Mac".
