Adam, Great video as usual. Definitely should help some people with tuning issues. Glad you also mentioned the idle gap as well. Most ppl I help never even know what that is or even how to do it. You always want to measure your idle gap to your Venturi size. Lastly, I know this might be a longer video that you would need to do, but can you perhaps make a video on using different diff weights and how they effect the car? Specifically when you increase or lower the weight in the front, center, and rear of the car and how it actually effects the power distribution, steering, and traction. Thanks Again, and I hope all is well with you, Ronda, and the rest of the Fam. Happy belated Anniversary as well.
Hey buddy could you go into more detail about setting the idle gap in correlation to the size of the Venturi? I thought you just set the idle gap to .6- .7mm no matter what
@@jeremywilliamsrc8797 What Adam is talking about is if your running a 6.5 Venturi, you need to get a set of calipers and place it over to where your low end needle is on the carb and place the other end of the calipers over on where your mid needle would be or is. Then zero out your calipers. Then grab your transmitter and open to full throttle. Your calipers should measure/read exactly what size your venturi is when you open full throttle. This is referring to setting your throttle end points. Sorry for the confusion when I stated idle gap. Adam talks about this in his video named "how to set-up throttle and brake linkage." Hope this helps.
Thank you for this video🙌👍 I'm newer to nitro engines as I have only owned one for about 10 months. So these tuning videos are beyond helpful🤘 I appreciate you taking time out of your busy schedule to make these videos for us💪👏👊
Besides what you just covered, proper glow plug and fuel combo makes a huge difference. Looking foward to the hands on course even though I've been doing this for decades. Anything covered may trigger an idea that has been forgotten or needs to be shown to someone starting out.
Do you have a video of tuning from tighten down and explain tuning it by the quarter turns that’s the kind of video I’m looking for because I don’t understand it that well in the quarter turn the half turn all that and I’m trying to learn it that way and if you don’t can you please make a video like that thanks 🙏
The only area Mr drake that I have. I do exactly what you say buy the book. I keep my clutch in 100% smoothness. My issue is after I warm it up to 220+ fire it up clean it out a few times. Then I run it on the track 2-3 laps when I let off throttle coming in to a corner. The the RPMS are high with the idle. It does not come down instantly like everyone else engins do. I'm confused with what needle setting am I off on. I wish there was a video explaining that issue it would help thanks Adam
In my one direction on the mid settings. It says if you lean the midrange setting 1 hour you have to richen the bottom end needle. That they both work together.
So that means the fuel is being restricted and flowing in to the carb quick enought. So when I come off full throttle and the RPMS are high after coming off full throttle. Could that mean the fuel is being cut off from eather the top or bottom end needle then I see.
Thanks Adam alot I was waiting for someone like you to do this. A good sound video would be perfect and explanation on what the engine is doing and what needle needs to be adjusted. That's has been my problem. Thanks craig
Lookin' healthy Drake! Keep up the good work! I now preheat to 200F with a heat gun before every start because I haven't had a nitro engine keep its pinch beyond 3.25 gallons. Hoping this will get me a normal P/S life.
Any idea why my car is running sooo inconsistent? , idle gap .5mm bottom needle as lean as i can go without raising the idle so its too fast.. top end runs as high as it can without over hanging the revs coming back down. Just wont hold a consistent idle. ua-cam.com/users/shortslbzisG6j21k?feature=share
I was just kidding. Because often there is a big Diskussion about Glow/Nitro I didnt expect a Shitstorm. I Think it came up as cars got promoted as Nitro because it Sounds way better than ic engine or glow engines..... Sry if somebody missunderstood my post.
@@pirminkogleck4056 yeah, didn’t mean to bash anyone, they just changed it to nitro to promote them pretty much, also because the engines run on a fuel containing nitro methane
Super excited for this tuning video series. I know it’s been in the works for awhile now. Can’t wait for the next one. Your the man Adam.
Awesome! Thank you!
Thank you for making these videos. I am new to nitro and it makes it a lot less stressful.
Glad to help

I have a video on diff fluids.
I start with the idle gap at .5mm
Thank you!

Great to hear!
I love the videos! There’s a lot of great things you bring to the table. The head heater is a great help too!
Thanks for taking the time to do this.. Awesome.. Let’s get a Southeast Coaching camp going ... Super keen to learn more
Sounds good!
Thank you Drake you're the bomb and you need to teach these people to have confidence in themselves which is awesome

I am try nitro for the first time next spring I will watch all your to make sure everything is good
Very cool, enjoy!
Damn, man. You never age!
:)
Super cool

My pleasure!
Sounds great 👍👍👍✌
Thank you.
I definitely love your videos you are a legend
I appreciate that.
Hey @AdamDrake . So I can't even pull my pullstart? Even after preheating.. Please advise
It could be cause by corrosion if the engine has been sitting and not properly stored with after run oil? Or the engine is flooded?

Mid is to lean.
One engine does not have a midrange the other does
In my one direction on the mid settings. It says if you lean the midrange setting 1 hour you have to richen the bottom end needle. That they both work together.
Coming soon! It could be too lean on bottom or the idle is too high and the lsn is too rich.

Sure thing!
Hey Adam just wondering if the next videos for the tuning are still in the works, or if that kind of went to the way side for now? Thanks
I still have plans for a few more tuning videos. Just need to get to work on them.
great work great vid bro keep it up
Thanks, will do!
Great info , has always ,thanks !
Also ,not havimg 2 of your buddys beside you pitching in there own 2 cents helps alote while tuning 😅👍
Very true!
Hi how are you
I have a gasoline buggy that engine O.S. You recommend me ?
Thank you
Gasoline or nitro? This should be helpful for nitro. I use the OS Speed B21AD2 engine.
Gasoline
Love watching your videos Adam they are really helpful... 😀
Happy to hear that!
If your schedule isn't too busy come to the Tekno winter series in Omaha on Nov 14
Thanks for the invite.
👍

I'm not able to open the link. Could be low on compression or it needs to be leaner on bottom and smaller idle gap.
It is called Glow Engine!
Lol don’t tell Adam drake what to call or not to call a NITRO ENGINE!!!! He is way more knowledgeable then you
They used to be called glow engines, same thing, they just call them nitro engines now since these engines run on nitro methane
Thank you. I'm pretty sure most of the viewers get the point. :)
