Client reports of feeling concerned about too much screen time, drinking, food and body preoccupation, sex and relationship preoccupation, cannabis/drug use and overspending are common clinical concerns. These ‘addictive’ issues are typically accompanied by chronic anxiety, excessive stress and feeling overloaded by the demands of work, family and social connection. How do these issues correlate? How can we help?
This experiential workshop offers an Internal Family Systems (IFS) approach, including new concepts for understanding addictive processes and effective systemic interventions that are compassionate, empowering and address the underlying shame and trauma our clients are navigating. How addictive issues impact the therapist will also be addressed.
