What leveling Mage's Guild skill line should have been
Read book, mount, read book, mount, read book, mount, rea-
Indeed
Or the psijic... So boring that after 3 years of playing I still haven't levelled it out.
sadist devs and u cant prove they arent
I agree I completely ignored it for skill trees that take that much effort to lvl up should be lvl account bound not character bound
I feel like this system IS the framework for the antiquities system. You go around farming pieces that lead to a complete piece that you then can equip. They simplified the system by making it an equipable piece vs a spell/spell skill line.
Thoughts about spell crafting
It could take up the slots for poisons and you can have 2(maybe more depending on if it evens works at first) and you create then using a potion system where they're always active or they aren't always active like poison cooldowns or a lorebook finding system to unlock recipes for new spells as others have mentioned like Mages Guild or the Order
Thank you, this is what I've been saying and I feel like I'm going insane that people can't see this. If we were to get spell crafting now I don't know why people think it would be any different than antiquities/mythics now.
It's like everyone is ignoring what the Devs have done and said and can only see spell crafting through rose-tinted glasses. The hype is out of control and if it doesn't happen or isn't exactly what people want the outrage will be huge. haha
@@fleetingyouthexactly everyone thinks it will be like an extra skill or class its not they might use this as a mythic piece especially if the spell ability is OP theyre not gonna give away good content all for free and easy to get idk why other eso players dont get it but at least me or u see it 🤦🏾🤦🏾
I still don't believe we are getting spell crafting as a feature until I hear it from zos themselves and I know people are going down the rabid hole of it is a feature the player base has been requesting for years but according to zos tales of tributes was also something the player base was asking for and really wanted for years.....all I am saying is don't get hyped up for something that we have no concrete proof for that it is coming .
cuz spel crafting would force the dev team to fire their neurons and use their brain to balance which they have proved time and time again they cannot do
Some hopium before we see that twitch stream that will fill us with disappointment and copium
They also announced Cyrodil with 1000 players on map and 200 players on screen at that time.
What they say is worth nothing. :(
And PvP with the outlaw system :C
Or when they said they were working on DX 12 support a mere 8 years ago.
This would be the kind of feature the game desperately needs to spark some positivity among experienced players and maybe even get a bit of a hype going. The standardization of skills they have been working on for a couple of patches is a pretty good framework to fit crafted skills into, so they don't become too powerful. However, there is also the risk of crafted skills ending up as re-skins of skills we already have. Adding utility while keeping the power in balance is certainly not an easy task.
I'm already seeing a full sorc teams running full bar pets and melt down the server
This is probably what the lastest data mine leak is going to be- "Scribing"
Ah! Why did we not get this years ago? Amazemage!
I think it was scrapped in favour of the antiquities system. Probably cause it was easier to balance
Wow this is crazy I can’t believe they scrapped it
It seems so well thought out too, with balance in mind through associated downsides and trade-offs to compensate for the power that was being added to the spells as they were created
It was never confirmed that it's scrapped. They just never came back to the idea. It could be in a freezer because they need to balance the game before (perhaps they wanted to bring hybridization first?)
We need it!
Wow....what an interesting and diverse system! So disappointing that this never happened, but yes... I can see elements of the enchanting and antiquities/mythic item systems here.
Honestly, this system should have been done (even if it took last year and this year to get it right and do it properly, I would have 100% taken a system like this that took 2 years to develop and implement over ToT that we got last year.
The way it was thought out and explained in this presentation looked incredibly easy to balance as well, especially with the current standardization we have now where spammables do X damage, burst does Y damage, DoTs deal Z damage, utility does something, healing is mostly standardized and ultimates have set values. They even went into things like giving skills a cast time to gain additional effects (the whole give and take that naturally creates balance).
e.g. you pick a base lightning damage skill, non ultimate, single target, 28m range, spammable with no cast time and it will be self balanced because it will fall under the standard laid out under the current system, or you could go for an ultimate, AoE, fire damage, has a stun, with a radius around you, it would have either lower damage due to AoE and stun or it would have a higher cost to use it.
If this exact system is what they were planning to do with their "hybridisation" changes (or standardization/homogenization of skills as some call it), then I am much more on board with the direction that hybridization has taken the game, since this exact system allows players much more freedom of builds while not creating huge unbalance issues since everything has set base standards. But that is only if this exact system is what they were going to implement with the hybridization/standardization changes they made.
ever since i saw this, my life was changed. I've been waiting for it since then, and every DLC that dropped since then has let me down.
Your not alone , it is the same for me.
Honestly, they should have had this system rather then classes.
I had a notion that it was essentially an excised feature. There's something very edifying and intimate in getting into the code of a program. Myself and some friends love to take things apart and see what is going on inside, including indicators of aborted or possible future features. A couple of them saw what appeared to be frameworks for not just spellcrafting, but also a means of creating your own spell scrolls like in days of old. Educated guesses and nothing more, of course, but it did get me very nostalgic for my mark, recall, life detect, and chameleon spells. There were other things, but too garbled to make much sense out of.
If what you say is true you gain my trust and my excitement… thank you
@@theelderkingstation3502 Just remember that I mentioned it as being educated guesses. It is rather tantalizing, I just don't want to be the one to elevate anybody's hopes to unrealistic heights.
Tanks with frost or iron atronachs with are buffs would be fun
IF they bring spellcrafting, it will bring SO MUCH PEOPLE INTO THE GAME AND SO MANY RETURNING PLAYERS.
@@HouseTre007 🤣
Not really the game is already getting too complicated with all these new sets and the hybrid builds
Hey you know what they say, ''better late than never''
Though this stuff looks pretty much complete, so what happened that it possibly took 9 years to get it back on track.
If spell crafting is coming out I'll come back to the game if it's just another class imma pass on it I'm burt out lvl up characters from scratch
I said in another video that this was a forgotten project that they had already promised way back when. I hold nothing and less in expectation
That spellcrafting system would have probably (eventually) been more popular than skill lines. I know people would have still made builds and such for skills, but it seems as though it would definitely overlap.
The guys on the back were like dude why you even talking about it…they knew it wasn’t gonna happen 😢
Yeah its going to be wild if spellcrafting is added and works how they are saying here
"Flexibility". I'll tell ya, they nearly calculated the fun right out of that game with how balanced everything is. I know games are supposed to be balanced but they almost made every choice you make, moot with how everything has a formula that scales. Like EVERYTHING. I enjoy the game and will continue to play for now but when they say Flexibility I wouldn't count on anything really giving you an advantage. Just flashy lights and colors who's damage output is exactly calculated so you don't do too much or too little.
What the fuck is everyones hardon for Spellcrafting? There is no fucking way it can be implemented into the game, as is, in a fashion that feels satisfying. It would be a novelty at best.
YEAH, and you're going to see datamined assets in the game up until 16 or 17
What could’ve been.
Harder overland
Fuck! Cant believe its actually spellcrafting ... tbh idk how this will increase performance in game.
I’m gonna laugh my ass off if after all this hype about spell crafting it turns out to be something else.
Most likely gonna be something else, I resist the hyping up and tbh Id rather have a M+ system than spellcrafting.
And now during reveals we're getting new gathering animation thagt is not even ingame earnable....
That's to cool, there's no way we're getting that lol.
Whats with the big focus on spell craft i thought we were pushing for a year of getting some fixes and non game breaking bug also less constant combat change. Not another mini game. Less combat changes and a better reward stucture in game items not more crown crates and Not spell crafting atleast not now i could care less fix the game. I dont understand the push in this narrative. I understand this is something you would like Nefas but is it the priority of what the game needs ? If the issue is some new features how about some freaken console feature like a simple mini map when they add 20 types of crown crates the game doesnt break but when its regarding a feature its like whoa whoa hold on there buddy that will break the game.
It's probably because the last 2 years chapter features were really boring for most players. The fact that they said that this year they are adding one of the most requested features is the reason this whole spell crafting craze started, and the fact that we want something new and interesting is the reason people want it. At least that's how I think
@@vxdroid32 yeah but when i think of feature im thinking like mini map or quality of life feature like pc gets in addons but for consoles i now the consemsus is well it will break the consoles but when they introduced like 20 different types of crown crates no issues , new mythic mini game no issues new mini card game no issues. But as soon as its features with the interface or any quality of life features its game breaking lol its ridiculous
@@unpresidented4131 that stuff is probably the quarter 3 where says they will be doing fixes and quality of life stuff
I also find it weird. Recently most of us were just talking about that the only thing we really needed was a game that was working. And now, all of a sudden everybody wants to implement the biggest, and probably most game breaking system, we've seen to this date.
back when the developers cared
If we do get spell crafting it will come out strong then get nerfed to the point near uselessness by the third quarter
If this is what we're getting, and it's close to the 2014 vision, then at long last some of the DPS nerfs from U35 actually make sense.
I really hope they bring spellcrafting, but i doubt they will be able to balance it in any un-gamebraking ways.. if spellcrafting is the new feature i might even consider returning to the game, just to abuse the hell out of it xD
i am down for spellcrafting. great reward system for a a decent hard earn progression. so many options to use them on your build. the main question is what was the reason that they canceled this.
Problem with spellcrafting is there are gonna 2-4 meta spells week 1, knowing zos there will be a grind like mythics, every player will be racing to get the meta spells week 1 and all the others will be worthless. This would do nothing but add a grind plus a few skills to the game, personally a chapter wide system should be much more than a few new meta skills and another grind.
Also, it seems like too much work for Zos to dig up a ten year old abandoned feature from millions of lines of code.
What do you mean by meta spells? Like players will figure out the best use of the system to make a spammable, a dot, etc and those options are just better than spellcrafted summons or buff abilities? I feel like it’s far too soon to pass judgement on a system like this without having any information on it. At the very least, worst case scenario, it will add new abilities to the game which eso desperately needs.
i really hope they add it, it's been my #1 wish for the game. i think also it could have solved most of the class balance problems because every character would have access to a universal kit
And making everyone the same.
I used to play ESP and loved it until the world content get too easy and the cash shop was pushed ahead before anything.
There was an outcry for the devs to stop with the cash shop, they didnt, they have lied to the consumers of their product...I guess I dont get how is spell crafting going to change everything?
Its a cool idea.. but I'm not sure I'd go back to the game for it if they are still putting more effort into card games and cash shop items then good content :(
I'm with you. I would definitely come back for harder overland content (at least for a while) but not spellcrafting. It's most likely just gonna break the game even more than it's already broken.
You can't please some people. If you add (or attempt to add) a new feature they complain, if you don't add a new feature they complain about the lack of new features.
I think the thing people might complain about with this is that it wouldn't be part of the base game like it would of been if implemented from this showcase.
I wouldn't complain if the game was playable lol
If there is going to be an issue with it being over powered probably in pvp then they need to make the use of it unavailable in pvp and only work in pve. Its like some say it will give ESO something unique to the game no one else has.
I don't see how a system like what is described would become overpowered for pvp beyond what is already in the game.
Especially now with everything being standardized under the zos balance spreadsheets. There would be some strong combos of effects for sure, but those would have that strength mitigated by high costs (7k+ resource cost to use), low damage (only tooltips for 5k damage with 7k+ spell damage), given a cast time to use it and/or being forced into an ultimate slot instead of a spammable ability (which gives it an inherent cooldown) or a mix of some/all of these trade-offs.
Zenimax can't even balance the base game, never mind all the extra shit they have added over the years. Now they are potentially gonna add this? Games gonna be a cluster fuck lol
imo it would make the game easier to balance since every class has a universal kit
It would be fun with spellcrafting but if we get it it isn't like it's not gonna break the game. They can't even implement a basic armor set without chaos, just imagine what this would do...
Aaand now the ESO team has been downsized. So much for new systems.
I don't want that shit I want a new class
@@HouseTre007
I enjoy leveling new characters and ESO lack characters so I think it's time for a new one.
I have plenty of MMO's and they have double the characters ESO have
@@HouseTre007 😜😜😜
omg more stuff without old stuff working WHO FUCKING CARES (sadly most ppl in this game)
Please for the love of god just add a new class to the game.
They didn't add spellcrafting at the beginning because it was broken then and it's going to be still broken
It was all bullshit at the time!! lol
I still don't understand why people want so much a mechanic that broke TESIV Oblivion to the point of it being removed on Skyrim, especially in addition to re-implementing it on an MMO behind a DLC.
Also, ZOS would never release (or remake into) something that diretcly treathens class identity, which is something that Spellcrafting would obviously do.
Balance. Balance will die permanently.
so gladd it never got used imagine how much more broken it would have made the game
If anyone thinks they can introduce spellcrafting without breaking the game...
its just them adding stuff in general that breaks it because they are incompetent so adding this wouldnt be an issue
They have been delaying spell casting for almost 8 years now
