Talking to the Thalmor with low speech got them like, "Your lack of eye contact in this conversation has been noted."
And then they get to find out about my level 100 two handed skill
Bro i sold so much random crap i found so much that my speech was up to nearly max when i was at like lvl 13
Your mother never teach you to level your speechcraft or something?
That thalmor in ratway was a nice touch. I never saw it before and always was curious at how they could get past the guild members.
I always delete him in the embassy
What are you kidding me the guild members are pus**** and I mean weak cowardly pus****.
You forgot to include the awesome bit where during diplomatic immunity (infiltrating the thalmor embassy) you can disguise yourself as a thalmor wizard, and if you aren't a high elf, they'll ask to see you closer, but if you are they'll let you through.
There is also the reverse situaition for the dark brotherhood and civil war quest, if the emperor is in solitude, ulfric freaks out and delays the siege
If Ulfric was smart he'd see this as nothing but a plus. There's no way the empire could deny a stormcloak victory if we kill the emperor, too.
"Yo Astrid I'm sorry but I couldn't finish the contract Ulfeic shouted him to death before I could get there" doesn't sound too good, does it?
@@Gr3nadgr3gory no, but until now Empire had limited forces stationed in Skyrim. If Ulfric murdered Emperor, Empire would bring more legions in Skyrim as retaliation.
@@Gr3nadgr3goryand after that every single soldier close to skyrim would be there in days. In the first week you would have the southern region full of imperial legion's. More than half of the population is loyal to the Emperor occupying the holds won't change that. The population would be up in arms revolting, any remaining hold loyal to the empire or there remaining forces would be on the offensive either directly or similar to the storm cloaks at the beginning hiding in there home territory which they know in and out and fighting from there.
In game when the Emperor is coming to skyrim the civil war is paused so he can visit every hold and it's city. No storm cloak is stupid enough to at least voice the idea of killing the Emperor.
Ulfric would even loose support in his faction, it's one thing to fight for there beliefs, but a completely different thing killing the head of the empire your god founded.
@@TheShadowSentinel sounds like more food for the dragonborn's pets.
0:50 the meeting with Taren Dreth occurs no matter what item you craft in the Forge, as long as you have it equipped
Does the forge instantly give you 100 in smithing?
@@Sunklettuce no
No. I reckon that’s a boosted xp mod.
I didnt even have the shield equipped and I still got the cutscene
It happens as long as the quest is finished, and having it inside your inventory, not needing to equip the item.
Dam, Skyrim did it again! It did let me learn something new. I didn't know about the "extended" Ratway Scene. I always killed Gissur right after he left the Ragged Flagon. I thought he'll do nothing from there on and just idle around and then disappear, so i always killed him immediately after he left.
I've played many great games in my lifetime , I've never played one like this, this game is on another level. Best game of all time so far.And I've not even played the DLC's farless.
I’ve been gaming since the early 2000’s. Didn’t pay no attention to Skyrim when it first came out. Just started a few months ago and I have to agree. Best game I’ve played by far. Nothing I enjoy more than an afternoon getting lost in the wilderness.
I just started Skyrim for the first time last summer…..best game ever….i just get lost in it. Thank you for a great video.
Didnt even knew Gissur existed until this Video😂
I didn't know you can "loose" Madesi's ring. That's insane! It's basically a good choice to spare brand shei and he's not getting thrown into jail. Brand Shei is a cool dude he don't deserve it to to go to jail he's innocent :(
you could also ignore the job, he still tells you to go to The Ragged Flagon afterwards.
I failed stealing the ring and hr still invized me into the thieves guild lol
You can take the ring from the lockbox and put it right back within the same interaction. It counts as the ring being "lost".
I kept trying to reverse pickpocket the ring into Brynjolf's pouch laying on the shelf next to him. Apparently can't be done.
Once I learned you wouldn't get brand shei back I had to Google how to keep him. He's great for an early game merchant too
Wow, I never thought there was a canonical way to humble Farengar in your first meeting with him lol. I tried meeting him as a mage but nothing happened. Now I must level up enchanting before meeting him.
WOAH never knew about that astrid-solitude siege dialogue!
Didn't know there's an extra dialogue if you bring the girl to her father. I always go straight to Markarth.
I tried bringing her home, her dad was still in the mine so I went to her mom. The mom didn't even react to her daughter and told me to get out of her house >.
Ahh skyrim, the gift that keeps on giving
also you can cast calm spell on hroggar to calm him down when he attacks you
I also somehow saved Alva as well? She just randomly roams and acts like nothing ever happened
@@thebigepicawesomemikedunca3642 definitely a bug lol
Bend Will also works just fine.
Just sneak past him. If you also give him firewood, before you do the quest, he will turn hostile but he won't move nor attack you.
Best game ever, just started last summer for first time…..so easy to get lost in this game. Thank you for a great video…..
I agree! spent a lot of time today building a house and crafting but still very fun! Just started the thief’s guild after finishing and running away with the money from the dark brotherhood!
You've seen nothing yet brotzkies, try ES:O. Now that's a way to get lost for months...and writing is much generally better than it was in Skyrim. Yes, you can effectively play it as a single-player TES game.
@@AthenaTennosN great game, but not as immersive imo. also an orpg modeled after and optimized for group dungeon play
@@AthenaTennosN Elder Scrolls: Online is not an Elder Scrolls game
@@illliiiiillliii6265 it's more of an ES game than Skyrim, lmao. Try to take "mmo bad" angle with criticism, there are some valid arguments you could make there. It not being true to the form or the spirit of the series just... isn't one.
All bullshit aside, you're an absolute legend for putting this together for others to enjoy.
Real!
Somehow this make me want to restart my playthrough, clear helgen and then max level everything before entering whiterun.
15:09 Upon being returned after her kidnapping, her father stays 10ft away from her. What a loving father he is!
The first bit happens when youre using any of the aetherial items
It didn't happen with my aetherial crown
@@teslestienstlektan2276it did for me, he just walked up and said it…
@@teslestienstlektan2276it takes a bit of time because he spawn randomly, but I'm using the crown and that happened to me
It happens after the quest even if you don't have any of the items.
I been rolling with my followers ever since I got that crown waiting on his ass
I actually found out about that dibella girl and her father interaction by accident. I had have been playing for quite some time at the time I discovered that but I guess I just forgot where to bring the dibella girl and thought I should bring her back to her father by mistake.
Yeah it's cool you can save the guy but you're doing better for him putting him out of his misery. More humane passed than having to live with the guilt of his mind controlled actions
You can actually steal Madesi's ring and then put it right back in the lockbox. It counts as it being "lost".
Holy shit this is awesome content. So many years playing this game no idea about any of these.
Such a cool video! Nicely done! That’s bastard from the lost legends killed me! I had the crown instead of the staff.
Quite A worthwhile content this is, further showing that how less of the possibilities have yet been explored by the majority of this games players, Really love it still
You can actually meet Amaund Mottiere in Volunruud despite Astrid telling you not to go. The interaction with Amaund goes the same as if Astrid told you to go. It does not affect Astrid's conversation unfortunately.
I did not know about extended ratway scene omg
Real funny to see some people malding over the fact you made the Aetherial Staff. It's just an item in a video game, it's not that big of a deal.
Some people just have raging hard one for the crown
Did you really not get the Aetherium Crown?? It’s arguably the best item in the game if only for the fact that when you couple it with the Ritual Stone, you can become a necromancer overlord.
Honestly...same. I still don't know how to get it without looking it up..😅
I always choose the staff. I don't care about the crown. Those who like the crown are free to keep using it. I like my dumb little robots.
@@AngelicImp8641 🗿
It's the only good thing from the forge. Such a pathetic mission for a weak item.
I like to think the dwemer discovered how to go the plane of atherius.
That Farengar is quite savage.
I'm playing this game for the 4th time over. Since it's release in 2011. And you've shown me things I've not seen lol. This game is so amazing and diverse in its story telling and options and how things effect the world. I killed a woman in morhal. Then later found a hut by riverwood and killed a witch. It the hut was a letter the witch had written to her sister of morthal about joining her and training to become a witch, the same name as the woman I killed. The consequences are brilliant how things tie together. Make a friend, when they die, you get the inheritance lol.
Usually at Thalmor Embassy I killed all (and prisoner in cellar prison too). Except couple times when I used high level Sneak. Anyway fight in Ragged Flagon it is not missed meeting. Less headache IMHO.
I have a locker that contains nothing, but the soulgems I used for this N'wah and his guards.
Brynjolf can tell you about Esbren if you're with guild
This not only works on the aetherial staff but also on the shield and crown.
I got that first quest too, but with the Aetherium crown.
2 things about the Farengar tip,
1: Rune Spells are DESTRUCTION, not CONJURATION. The Closest thing Conjuration has to a Rune Spell is the Ash Guardian.
2: You actually don't need to level up Destruction in my experience, just knowing the Shock rune spell seems to be enough.
5:16 first time seeing that and ive played skyrim ALOT
I’ve been playing this game for 11 years and never knew about most of these.
Incredible
Great! Now i know how to join thieves guild without blackmailing Bran-Shei, he's cool and gave friendly greetings, throw him to the jail is really unnecessary
That Thalmor stuff !
I wish Farengar had more lines of dialog, I really liked him.
I liked him too… liked killing him during the ebony blade quest
@@origamiman7891 wow look out everyone we've got an edgelord here. how was class today, buddy? did tyler bully you again? dont worry, 5th grade sucks for everyone.
@@gthegadgetguy9703 ?
Didn’t expect someone to say I’m a 5th grader because I killed an annoying npc in a video game, in every save I’ve made. Lol
@@origamiman7891 the way you said it was so edgy dawg u have no idea. sounded like some 12 year old trying to sound like a "badass" character from a game he likes.
@@gthegadgetguy9703 I don’t see how anything I said could sound to relate to that but alright.
My cutscene with Gissur bugged, instead of leaving to tell the thalmor, after he got the information both him and tge female khajiit that I left alive decided they were going to screw the thalmor and go into the actual thieves guild, I followed them but once on the other side they were completely gone as if they suddenly vanished
That female khajiit is so annoying. I killed her right outside of Honeyside and propped up her body by the barrels. Every time a guard passes by, s/he says something like "Gods, what happened?" I'm surprised the body hasn't despawned yet. This my latest attempt at a full play-through (newish player), so I don't know how everything works yet. I'm still having trouble finding the last shard piece.
How did your smithing level do that?
Oh no one of the dreths of course
Nice
What outfit is that and how do I get it?
So pathetic how bynjolf just lets in the guild after literally failing his one order 🤦🏻♂️
He should have given you another chance to do something worthy of joining the guild.
Have to get a participations trophy I guess...
To be fair it would be annoying to have a guild be locked off by RNG. I actually failed to pickpocket the ring onto Brand Shei since there's a non-zero chance of being detected without a lot of levels in a skill that is otherwise useless. I don't think a roll of the dice should prevent you from accessing a quest line. Personally I think the problem is the quest gets sprung on you, it shouldn't be possible to even be considered until you're a sufficiently skilled thief (stealth and pickpocket levels) and/or maybe have made enough septims selling stolen items to fences, but that would require NPCs to carry items of value and houses to have been made with actual substance including items worth stealing, instead of 5 septims and some wooden plates.
@@Cyrus_T_Laserpunch then reload the save and try again. You shouldn’t have absolutely no consequences for failing
10:22 Where did you get the dress - did you get it or was it via cheated
Most likely a mod.....
I agree, that dress is lovely for a woman mage lol, definitely would want to track it down
Actually @TheCrepusculum that dress reminds me of Nocturnal's garments, I wonder if that's the dress in the vids!
Why did making the staff level up smithing so much?
i never seen farengar part before .
Every time i tried turning him over and taking the books the caller still attacks is that supposed to happen?
yeah i ran into that guy and his desire to off me didn't go so well when i summoned a sphere on his ass. just don't have the atronotch stone or you summon will auto fail
I look for him every time.
So I guess I played like 6% of the whole content 😂
Great vid. Could we maybe get your mod list?
I have seen all of these (8500+ hours will do that) but didn't know that the line from Astrid was an Easter Egg. I played Oblivion a bit but then rushed through to get the ending before Skyrim came out so that I could finish the story and never went back.
Me: had to look up how to get aetherium shards because they lied about the last shard location. Fought hard to get to the forge .... And onlt had three options to make somethng...... Only one option is actually worth it .... The crown ..... Skyrim has a LOT of lack luster missions..... Thay dont reward you with anything really.
Wait there's a line about a shock rune... when your conjuration is high? I though runes were destruction.
They are im confused as well but this is Skyrim logic maybe if in oblivion
all you need is one level in any magic and it's suppossed to not make sense thats the point, shock runes are destruction not conjure even the court wizard realised the joke before he responded even his respons implies he got the joke.
one level in conjure youget a line for conjuring that makes no sense, if one level in healing theres a healing line, same for any magic based on what magic you level up even just one level. disinchant a single item before talking to court wizard you get the soulgem line being left near a unwarded pentacle, (laymen speak that means you left your unused soulgem in a place where anyone with the ability can cast and steal your soul, isn't that unwise?)
Its been so long, I cant even remember most of these.....
Do you still get the ‘Agent of Dibella’ blessing and the master enchanter in the temple if you don’t return Fjotra to the temple?
??? The end result of that quest is always to bring the girl to the temple. It’s just a small moment if you go to get father first.
@@motodog242 I always take her back to say goodbye to her dad.
Just felt right.
Bethesda can't top this game
It's interesting, yet, it feels like: "We do details for no obvious reason"
Rewarding curiosity
And just enjoying game development in general, instead of being rushed to do some corporate game project you have no heart for
@@BaddabySkyrim was most definitely rushed though. Morthal and Falkreath are both incomplete, the game was nigh unplayable on PC on release.
These Details, the environmental storytelling and the horizon are what makes this game great though.
@@nigerianprinceajani all games are rushed at some level, especially at big companies
My point was mainly the last few words
what quest is the first clip?
Lost to the ages
I’m pretty sure it’s Anniversary content. You get the quest by reading the book “Aetherium Wars” (probably misspelled that word). The book can be found all over Skyrim in certain areas and is easily found in the library of the college
@@jayst its not its been in the game for years
@@ahazu1445 it is 100% anniversary addition / creation club content

Not missed i always make sure to equip the crown and walk on the roads to track this mf
ok i am downloading skyrim again

Better question is why use the staff and not the Crown. The Crown is far more powerful
Because they can. And because using the crown over and over again is incredibly boring.
@@AngelicImp8641 not if you use it right. Getting the ritual stone in it makes for some fun plays if done right. Having an army of undead isn't boring 🤪

What you have to first do is find a book called “Aetherium Wars”, read it, and then you’ll gain the quest to find it. It’s a quest that was added with the Dawnguard expansion, I believe.
It's a really big quest and its frankly kind of annoying. You can either start it by reading the book mentioned in a previous comment or you can go to that one dwemer ruin that shakes everytime you get near it. You have to find these three pieces of Aetherium and when you do, the ghost thats helping you helps you find the forge. In the forge you can make one of the three atherium items.
I personally always choose the crown, it lets you have two standing stones at once. It's an annoying quest but it gets you a pretty great reward. It can be a little glitchy though, so I'd recommend saving a lot just in case. I don't think you need a specific smithing level to craft the items. Just the pieces of aetherium and the aetherium forge. I dont think you can craft anything else there either.
You can also find a pretty cool unique bow in the ruin where you start the quest, the enchantment makes it quicker to put arrows in and shoot.
Astrid refers to the mottiere who gave you the quest, that one in Ansilvund.
We know, otherwise that dude would be hundreds of years old
But it's still a reference to that dialogue from Oblivion
You probably should have called this "may" have missed...
