Imagine if they played caravan on the train instead of poker, I think that the entire session would just involve Jacob attempting to explain how it works lol.
@Sarah12471 The way it makes sense in my mind is that, in a game of caravan, you're really just playing three games of blackjack at once with some altered rules. To win Caravan, you have to win two out of three of the blackjack games. So your basic strategy is going to be letting your opponent overplay their hand trying to win at one of the blackjack games while you balance your cards and beat them in the other two. The actual games of blackjack themselves work like this: You stack cards like blackjack and add their numbers together, but the cards must be stacked in order. So if you put down a 5 and then a 6, your next card has to be higher than a 6. But if you put down a 6 and then a 5, your next card has to be lower than a 5. Unlike in normal blackjack, where you want to reach 21 without going over, this version accepts any number between 21 and 26 as a win. If both players win, the tiebreaker goes to whoever has a higher number, so a 24 beats a 22 for example. Once all three games of blackjack have a valid winner the game ends and whoever won two out of three blackjacks wins the Caravan. There are also cards with bonus effects but you can ignore them to start.

I'm guessing they just... never thought if that?
omgomgomg I know I'm totally late, but I've been running a homebrew Fallout ttrpg for a few years now and super excited to watch this adventure (and see your ruleset haha).
The opening seriously gave me chills. I’m a massive fan of both Fallout and TTRPGs, so I’m so glad to have found this!
Ah perfect way to put the fear of God in your players 30 minutes in a rad storm could nearly kill you xD
Jacob: Mentats literally taste like candy.
Me: Yeah, Jacob knowing how Mentats taste explains A LOT. ;)
Time to get invested in a new to me dnd podcast so i can GM it lmao
I love the fallout game so far. I would also love to see you guys tackle a mass effect game too. Keep up the great work!
Oh My God I'm So Freaking Excited!!!!
this is the game I wanted to always see
i knew privet Jenkins he was a good man.
Lola part of me thinks Jacob wanted to do this just so he can perfect his cool sound effects
Ohh, I thought it was an audio drama. I certainly didn’t know XP to Level 3 was part of this.
Shame they won't be using the Modiphius system but i can understand the reason as to why.
Still looking forward to this.
I felt the same. I preordered my copy of fallout 2d20 awhile ago and wanted to see more live plays of those rules because I have yet to play it myself still waiting for the hardcopy but have the pdfs. As soon as the hardcopies are here I plan to run a game of it. I do understand their not playing the 2d20 system though being that D&D is their usual game of choice.
@@dangarthemighty0980 i know of a couple streamed games, and i don't know if you're on the Discord server for the Fallout2d20 system but those games are plugged there, discord.gg/9KGZUUTe
@@Daredhnu Yup definitely on the discord.
Yep, had no idea this existed. Let the journey begin!
I hope you guys see this comment. I'm a big Fallout fan. I love the games I've always wanted to play in a ttrpg but my friends aren't really into it we normally just play regular Dungeons & Dragons.
But I had a cool idea for a Fallout campaign if I ever got to make one. I would have a bunch of my friends make hollow tape recordings. Maybe you guys could do that. Have like a contest with submitted holotapes
My friends and I are going to be playing this sometime in the future
Hey im just wondering is there a possibility for a bestiary and some GM tools in the future for the system
I don't know anything about Fallout but I'm caught up on all your other games and I'm just craving more of your content so I'm hoping I can follow any of this haha.
