You are helping me like vegan meals. Not a vegan yet - I used to be 100 percent meat lover. I am down to 50-50. That is a major change. Thanks
You can do it! Watch some vegan documentaries, they really helped me open my eyes.
I started that way, then vegetarian 4mos. Now I'm vegan 6mos! Inflammation and LDL normal now and I'm down 40 more lbs!
You're doing a good job!
First I quit red meat, then all meat (pescetarian), then the fish. It really helps to go slow and learn as you go!
Keep at it. Once u drop meat dairy…etc. like it did 7 years ago. You ain’t gonna miss them.
As the only vegan in my house, I need quick, simple recipes to keep things convenient.
I’m in the same boat as you!
Keep on doing your thang! I've definitely been there.
I'm the only one as well. And I love Derek's simple meals
I am as well, it sucks but we’re in this together. You are not alone :)
Same here, it’s a challenge for sure but it’s nice to know I’m not alone. I will say that my family is starting to enjoy some of my vegan meals but they are not ready to give up their meat 😢
People say they don't have time, but in reality, many are like me and just hate to cook. Planning ahead is key to keeping meals calm! Breakfast is simple, like overnight oats or peanut butter on whole grain toast. Lunch is leftovers from the night before, either re-heated or some things are even better cold.. The only time I actually cook is for dinner, making extra to have for the next day's lunch. While waiting for something to simmer, bake, etc. or while watching TV or videos, I am prepping raw vegetables like onions and peppers, which I keep for a day or two in sealed containers in the fridge. Fresh fruit is always handy for dessert and snacks.
I like how you organized it for yourself! I agree that planning is key for healthy eating because once I starve, I am ready to eat anything and more often that is something not healthy.
great video! easy way for me to make quick meals:
1. figure out couple of tasty sauces and have them ready
2. cook grains/beans/potatoes/etc twice a week (or may be three times a week)
3. have some greens/veggies prewashed and ready to be eaten
when you need a meal just mix everything=)
My neighbor is no vegan, but loves your Tex-Mex sauce. She doesn't have a high speed blender. I usually make a double batch & gift it to her. Her family enjoys it & she's always looking for healthier options. I share your channel & recipes with all who are interested in changing their diet.
That’s so nice of you! And thanks for sharing my vids too. 😊 Hopefully helping lots of ppl!
Field roast smoked apple sage are the best!
Love this video concept!!
We’re all rushing most days-glad to see some quick, quality meals!!
Thank you for the cat cameo!! ❤
Just what I needed! I've been sooo lazy when it comes to preparing meals, so that just comes at the right moment! Thank you!
I make your sauces (usually the tahini one with wasabi or Sriracha added!) in bulk (usually ~ a quart's worth!) so I can always have something to top my veggies, etc. They totally make the dishes! Having that always available has been a game-changer!
Love your simple meal ideas! Thanks also to Crystal for her filming! The beet hummus looks amazing!
I watched this video this morning and you inspired me to buy and try the vegan sausage. I was sooo hungry after Pilates class and needed something fast so I cooked up some sausage. I didn’t have the bread so I decided to make a bowl with seeds of change quinoa and brown rice, wilted some spinach and garlic (quick and easy) cut up my veggies and done.
I like this video. I never knew the stores had the chickpea sauce pouch. I didn’t know the sausage had so much protein. I’m always looking for protein without using shake powder. When I’m in a hurry I will also use more pouch and jar sauces, but try to keep, the food as whole. It’s great to,have some quick meals for when I get home hungry.
Your meals always look so colourful and delicious! 🤤
Love the good vibes in all your videos. They always improve my mood, thanks!
This is awesome, but a good reminder that you can have anything, but you can't have everything. Here, you get time- kudos on making these so fast! But it does require a lot more pre-packaged, therefore more expensive ingredients (obviously still way cheaper than take out/going out). I definitely stick to my budget friendly rice/beans lunches. They take a while to cook up, but if I divide that time over the week, still under 10 minutes :).
I also love that you're showing realistic amounts of food for high protein. It drives me crazy when people sprinkle some chick peas on top of a stir fry "for protein" on high protein vegan videos.
I think your relationship with your girlfriend is one of the greatest i ever seen, over all these days you look so happy together, I wish for my own life that I can experience exactly the same thing. Big inspiration
Thank you, I’m glad our love is visible through the screen. We are fortunate to have each other. Thank you. Keep being you, you’ll find that person one day. 👊
I love how you dressed up the curry pack. My fiancé eats them sometimes for a quick meal, but I think he'll need to try your add-ons! Thanks for the great video 😁
Such a great video!!! A good reminder that it doesn't take long to make a huge, healthy meal!!!
These are great ideas, quick easy healthy.
Meal prep is a huge game changed for people like me who don't have time to cook 3 meals a day 👍
Thanks!! I'm 98.9% Vegan...occasionally, I'll splurge for Tim Horton's Double Double, but trying to get away from the sugar content...so I only do it twice a week. Also turned 55 last year and I signed up recently with a local gym to learn Muay Thai. Your ez quick meals are a great idea. I don't mind cooking stuff, but when it comes to simple ideas...it is really difficult for me to think about stuff that has less than 3 ingredients! I'm definitely going to try some of your ideas!
Never thought about adding the field roast sausage to my avocado toast😯 gonna definitely do that now🙌 Always appreciate the content 👌
It's so good. Maybe a touch of dijon mustard under the avocado if you have the extra few seconds. Lol, I didn't. ;)
Wow so glad I found your channel, I went full vegan about a month ago and I feel great but I was worried how to make some tasty meals with enough protein! I’ll definitely be sticking around. Thank you!
Been a fan of your channel for a while (you helped me a lot both when it comes to vegan diet and calisthenics), and I have to say, this video concept is such a good one, I love it! I live in a small apartment with a microscopic kitchen which means I am not very comfortable cooking big meals with lots of ingredients, so this kind of video is exactly what I'm looking for. Hopefully you make more in the future, cheers!
Thanks for the feedback, that's great to hear it helped ya!
Food prepping would be awesome, Derek! I do overnight oats but not much else and would love some tips!
Love the 10 min meals. How about a good old fashioned freezer dump? I think you've done it before. I've got random bags of individual veggies but don't know what to do beyond roasting or soup! Also, have you ever tried to make your own veggie broth powder? I like to control our sodium intake.
I subbed because of the recipes in this video. I have to say the time thing caused me anxiety but I understand why you did it.
Good morning Derek, love to see your delicious meals.
Thanks Mel!

I love your 'quick meal' vids! And i love the slice of workout included - reminds me to get some movement into the day 😂
Yes that's why I do it! Also to show you can be fit while eating this way! Gotta hush the haters before they start. ;)
I love Crystal’s laugh💕
Thank you for making your videos so happy…and useful at the same time. I love your videos!
silver hills is the only bread that i like specifically the big 16 one too, i was tripped out when they changed the bread creation method and it was way softer than i was used to
Love to see it! I’ll be helping my husband switch over to more plant based in a couple weeks and he’s afraid he won’t feel satiated. Thanks for doing a high protein video Derek!
I just came across your channel thanks to healthy vegan mama and she did not disappoint in her recommend. Thank you! You guys are so cute lol
Loved this video! While I generally have a bit more than just 10 minutes, I definitely appreciate less time spent in the kitchen! 20 minutes + high protein and I’m super content!
Woot! Thank you! 🥦❤ Yes I do the same thing with the packaged foods on the rare occasion I use them they get dumped over a big bowl of grains, legumes, and veggies to spread out that salt bomb 👍
Exactly. Same amount of salt, but for some reason seems to feel a bit better having it with some other things.
Absolutely love your channel!
Thank you for sharing! I've been wondering what to cook for dinner these days!
Looks really good Derek! I am sending this to my clients.
Its nice to see a curry without rice and just a side salad, my body struggles with grains and its infinitely worse when paired with legumes so the curry looked really nice (the lunch id have without rice)
Love your recipes as always ❤
Loved it as always!
great vid as always dude! Everyone has time to cook... Less scrolling... more cookin!
You got that right!

I love these types of videos! ❤
Thanks as always!
Ithaca has a lemon beet hummus that is amazing, I really hope beet hummus becomes more popular.
Way too go Crystal 🤙🏻 and Derek Excellent camera work ❤️loved this episode
I love your channel, thank you.
Awesome vid, great cooking advice. Love and peace from London
Great recipes! Mush needed in this fast paced life these days!
Love your video. Gives me ideas on incorporating some vegan meals.
I like these time-trial videos haha
Adding raw veg to meals decreases prep time. Has been great for my meal prep.
Great video bro.. make a video please with something quick for the job or school
I think that seasoning started out at Trader Joe’s and it was called “Everything But The Bagel” then a bunch of other companies started making a version of it, it’s funny to me to hear it called “Evwrything Bagel”
We live... we learn... we experience... we grow...
I like the idea of beefing up (planting up?) a premade packet of curry. Thanks!
Awesome video bro, much love and respect from NewZealand ❤
Thank you for the quick meal demos. My husband & I prep a weekly salad every Sunday consisting of napa cabbage, red or yellow bell peppers, zucchini, red onion, celery, broccoli, and arugula. Since it's so large we clean & sanitize our stainless steel sink to have enough room to toss it. We add 3 tablespoons of granulated garlic & about 3 tablespoons of lemon juice. Completed it fills 2 14 cup Rubbermaid containers lined with paper towels to wick up the excess moisture, thus keeping the salad fresher throughout the week. My lunch & dinner are the same. Pre cooked potatoes (6-8oz) 0.5 oz raw walnuts, 2 oz cooked unsalted black beans, 1 tablespoon ground flax meal topped with Mary McDougall's Golden Gravy then heated in microwave. Dinner contains the same ingredients, but I use a vegan Ranch dressing. Oh so yummy & takes no time to throw together because the salad was pre-made on Sunday (about 1.5 hours total time for set up, chopping & clean up).
I love these videos. ❤
Awesome job!
I love your tips, meals, and positive energy! You and Krystal are the best. Thank you for your channel.
Thank you!! We appreciate you!
Amazing what you can do in ten minutes.
recently found your channel and I'm loving it! you have such a great vibe and you must be doing something right since you're always glowing!! thanks for all the tips
Thank you so much!!
I am learning a lot ❤
thank you for showing premade ingredients in your recipes (tahini and masala) I'm usually trying to get dinner on the table quickly so I cheat a lot with premade. As always I enjoyed this video!
Yum! Ten minutes too? NICE job! 🌱💪
Dinenr looks great!
Curry on one side and salad with dressing on the other 👍
super inspiring
Great video!❤
I fast everyday! Too I usually make oatmeal with blueberries.cinnamon!
Beautiful dinner!
brilliant as always. that 60gram+ protein tempeh meal is insane
I’m trying the chickpea looks delicious and I always enjoy hearing Crystal laugh in the background.💙🪴
Thank you so much for this video. I needed this!
Also, I’ve never seen a mini power whisk mixer. What is the brand name for this that you used to make he tamari sauce mixed with other ingredients?
I’m a newbie vegan and I really enjoy this channel
I just made the tempeh like you! Yum!
Derek you're awesome, you never lost your cool and did great cooking 3 meals under 10 mins. Thx for the inspiration. And in the gym & kitchen ( I love a man who knows his way around the kitchen) you're looking good 😉
🙏❤️🥰
always apprecaite high protein videos 👍
👋 hi my favorite couple. Thank for for another great recipe video.😊❤
Awesome thankyou
I feel if you follow microwave rice instructions it comes out way better then just using plate. Try next time
Squeeze the pouch so that the product is evenly distributed. Tear the top corner open slightly and place the product on a microwavable plate. Microwave on full power.
Leave for 1 minute. Remove the pouch from microwave and tear/cut off the top of the pack. Fluff up gently with a fork before serving.
Take care when opening the pouch as hot steam will escape.
Thanks for the quick ideas! Your spastic cooking in this video is pretty much me every weeknight after work trying to cook and get it on the table before it's midnight. 😂
You are my favorite UA-camr!
Anyway here’s how you fry a perfect steak:
Ingredients
2 tbsp. canola oil
Boneless ribeye steak, preferably 1 1/2"-thick
Kosher salt
Freshly ground black pepper
2 tbsp. butter
Directions
Step 1
Salt steak and rest for 45 minutes.
Step 2
In a medium skillet over medium-high heat, heat oil. Season steak with pepper on both sides. When oil is just about to smoke, add steak. Cook 7 minutes, then flip and add butter. Baste with butter and cook another 5 minutes or until internal temperature reaches 140°, for medium.
Step 3
Remove from pan and let rest 5 minutes before cutting.
Love your videos! I’ve been vegan for 14 years and I love how you give helpful hints that I’ve not tried before. How do you get certified to become a nutrition practitioner? I would love to follow my dream! I live in Ontario, wondering if it’s different in BC to get certified.
One of my favorite foods of all time is brown rice...
Thanks Derek, I love your videos and quick delicious nutritious meals. They inspire me. But I find the tahini I've had in New Zealand very dry in the mouth. Is that the case for you guys over there, or are there different types, do you know?
I just found your channel a few days ago and have been binge watching. Did I miss the protein content for the final meal?
Just wondering if you could share the brand of tahini, I’ve notice your actual will pour out of your container, while mine is quite thick. I’m liking your recipes for your different dressings. Thanks for sharing very appreciated. 👍❤️😊
