so glad im not alone in stardew valley being one of the most stressful video games I’ve ever owned. it has set my lifespan back 7 years and my hairline 3 inches
Dear viewers, what you see before you is what it's like to have ADHD. Now, after the therapy and medication, I can finally play Stardew Valley without feeling like it's my second work
you said in your evil hitman video to check out your other stuff before subscribing and i was already sold then but this video is hysterical. stardew valley is the only real farm sim in the fact that it breaks you. good job keep it up 👍
Yet another person falls for the "farming simulator" tag. This is actually a mistake by the developers, the real tag should be "time management simulator"
Yea, the time thing?, Just get a mod for that, there are a lot of great mods out there that make the game even better, including a mod that lets you customize the time, how fast it goes and even make it be stopped completely in certain areas like the farm or the mine. You dont have to be stressed with Stardew Valley, you can make it more Relaxing if you just want to have fun.
Stardew is one of those games that can be nearly whatever you want from it, even unmodded. There is no time limit in the big picture, just a limit on what you can do in a single day. And I genuinely think the game is worsened by approaching it with a pure optimization mindset. Yes, you can try to eke out every second of gameplay, but there will ALWAYS be another day, another season, and another year to do it. Take the game at your own pace. Trying to rush it and turn it into a sprint takes away from the pleasant idyllic life. If you want pure optimization in farming, there are way more farm sims that cater to this and in a better way. Water your crops, then do whatever feels fun that day. Maybe some fishing, maybe spending most of the day in the saloon.
@@ThatRPGuywithtoomanyOCs yea, totally, its not supposed to be all speedy and stressful, Stardew Valley is supposed to be a relaxing game that takes away that stress, i mean its literally the plot at the start, you being burned out and stressed and going there to no longer be that.
The time mod was literally the first thing I downloaded for this game lol, I agree with this video because the vanilla time mechanic is definitely stressful.
It’s so funny to me that you said the money side of stardew valley and the npc wasn’t stressful, i couldn’t do the npc stuff because it stressed me out so much
Subnauticas a personal favorite of mine, it may be survival, heck even horror at some points but the game is often relaxing for me, constructing more bases, making progression, scavenging and such.
Love the video! I do think that hitman use to be my relaxating game before I found chess (Which is not relaxing at all ). Your Animal crossing mii looked nice along with the plush, and Hitman is probably everyone's guilty pleasure relaxing game to an extent. Keep up the great work!
For some reason hearing Wesker's DbD terror radius/chase music in the background during tense moments is sending me, so funny. Glad I found your channel through Coney.
Great video but I cannot agree with the Tom Nook hate. He literally gives you a no-interest loan with an infinite amount of time to pay it off, which is primarily done with money *he* gives you in exchange for stuff you've sold to him. What else do you want from him 😭
The bit about having to take everything out of the boxes in Unpacking made me laugh so hard, @RTGame did the same thing while playing and his chat was up in arms about it!!
stardew valley stresses me out way less than animal crossing did, but i think that's mainly because i started playing animal crossing in quarantine and i was maximally stressed already. i remember ACNH felt incredibly high-stakes for some reason ("for some reason"), in a way that stardew valley doesn't; if I didn't have enough bells to buy something the day it was in the shop, or if i terraformed the wrong square, it felt like the world was gonna end. I started playing stardew much more recently & I'm in a completely different headspace now. Once I figured out that there are zero stakes and nothing bad can happen if you fail a task in stardew valley other than that you have to wait a few minutes until next year rolls around, i eased up a lot. and once you start making money, you really can treat it like ACNH and just fuss over every square tile of your farm, your ginger island farm, and wherever in town the NPC paths won't trample your hard work-- except, unlike in ACNH, the little tasks you have to do actually mean something and have function, rather than just being a lot of figurines you set out to look nice. All the resources in SDV serve a real gameplay purpose, even if it's just to give you a little buff here or an extra tile of flooring there. If anything, my only complaint is that it's TOO easy to make money in stardew valley; once you pass a certain threshold of wealth, you stop getting that exciting little dopamine rush from seeing the gold pour in, and it sort of breaks immersion. Or maybe it makes it MORE immersive, in the sense that the truly hyper-wealthy at the top of the capitalist pyramid actually accrue money just by having so much of it already. But that's not a very cozy thought to have, is it?
I think one good thing for a truly relaxing game is Unavoidable Down Time where while you have stuff to do but what you do has Zero Impact on events outside of that period, and also no way to skip it. Mandatory Downtime Ever.
It is criminal how low the view count is on this video. The algorithm should go to jail for slacking of and not recommending this video to more people. One downside is that the video is a bit short. I WANTED MORE! …you have still earned a click of the subscribe. well done
I love Animal Crossing NH but I can only play it every few months because it's got me SO stressed. The first few days I'm logging in whenever I can, just having fun... next I know I'm time traveling in 5 minute intervals and have made three spreadsheets detailing how I'll get every flower in record time, where and when I have to catch which fish, bug, or sea critter, as well as which ones I've gotten models of and how many of each I already have in storage 👍
We had very different experiences of lockdown. I was off work for 10 weeks, during which I delved heavily into Civ6. Then I went back to work because I'm a key worker, and live went back to normal, except that nearly three months without any travel expenses or anything to spend money on other than the essentials meant I'd paid off all my debts. Also, if you want relaxing, try playing Farming Simulator. Big machines go brrrrr.
My best friend minmaxes Stardew Valley as well and it's so funny to me when I just stumble around mindlessly for most of the time. At least I enjoy fishing so I'm not completely uiseless to her XD I also want to say, my go-to relaxing game is Subnautica.
Unique opinion but i think sekiro is really relaxing game for me You just rome around and enhance your skills find thing and learn the game at your pace i really like it for that
My top relaxing game is doom eternal Idk what's so relaxing about causing a genocide but I feel a weird sense of relaxation when I see the blood and gore of doom And yeah ... I am a pshco and sociopath

That’s pretty big
Thanks for the credit card information. I used it to buy those relaxing games. And a couple of sessions of therapy.
This video made me feel very relaxed, almost made me forget about the Uranium Scented Candle I ate before watching...
I feel your pain, I lost my bismuth-209 scented candle in the finno-korean hyperwar and only have 19 quintillion years left to find it

the cat thing is so real and im SO sorry (this is why i can only play with timestop mods)
This video is hilarious, the Chronos bit had me dying.
This is the PERFECT representation of what it's like to play stardew valley

Okay but games where you get to be violent can be very calming, because you essentially get to let it all out without any real consequences.
HATSUNE MIKU YIPPEE PLUSH??!! incredible. so happy to be here for this
3:50 is so relatable, running to Pierre's to get there exactly on time only for it to be closed b/c it's a Wednesday happens to me like every week

12:00 The most obvious Wolfenstein 3D reference you've ever seen in your entire life: "You can play Doom"
i legit thought you were gonna say doom eternal lol

i got your hitman without crimes video recommended and now im watching all your other videos. i really like your style of comedy :D
Seeing the exact same powerwasher model I used 3 days ago in a random video i stumbled on is... wild.
For some reason hearing Wesker's DbD terror radius/chase music in the background during tense moments is sending me, so funny. Glad I found your channel through Coney.
