I recently watched the documentary "McCartney 1-2-3," and I learned that what I had thought was a tuba on "Maxwell's Silver Hammer" was actually Paul's bass. PUAL MCCARTNEY COULD MAKE HIS BASS SOUND LIKE A TUBA. He's simply the best.
@@RadCenter Yeah but he says McCartney is rarely mentioned amongst the greatest ever bass players when he actually is regularly rated one of the greatest and innovative bass players in history.
They were on a completely different level... virtually untouchable. You name the band, and every single one has been influenced by them, every genre. Something very rare, and beyond once in a lifetime. They were that good.
Now, Pink Floyd easily every bit as good if not better, especially at experimenting with sounds. Same time, same country, definitely same level or better musically!
It was magical how everything they did just seemed on a higher (cooler) level than whatever anyone else was doing. I think 60 years later, we still have catching up to do.
And listen to that 2nd side as 1 big song, as they all flow together. That's how itvwas intended to be. And if you plan to listen to sidev 2 of Abbey Road, be sure to listen to the original. In that one the ditty " Her Majesty" is on the end!
What a thoroughly enjoyable reaction. New subscriber here. I think I hit you with Steely Dan somehow and then jumped over here but you got to react to that latest and final Beatles release. The backstory is fascinating and it goes back to 1977, 7 years after the Beatles broke up which was worldwide news, and 3 years before he was assassinated.😢 and then it comes up all the way to 2023 where, after being known for pushing technology in the 60s, they go out with a bang right now doing exactly the same thing for their final offering.
Helter Skelter, Dear Prudence, strawberry fields, I am the Walrus, Don’t let me down, A Day in the Life, Tomorrow Never Knows, Rain, Paperback Writer, and that’s just getting started!
Come Together is indeed one funky groove, and all of the Abbey Road album is excellent. The tracks from Here Comes the Sun through to the end, which made up the second side of the original LP, are an especially trippy sequence and best enjoyed all in one sitting, so I enthusiastically recommend you react to the whole side that way, I think you'll love it. IMO, while a lot of their early stuff is fun in its own way, it's at Rubber Soul that they begin to really take off, and everything from Revolver onward is golden. Enjoy!
The Beatles are the tops and definitely the worldwide favorite because they pioneered Rock n' Roll and made it accessible for any generation no matter what age you are or were to really enjoy their music. Love me some Beatles!!!! I request you react to "I am The Walrus." Fire!!!!
Beatles A-Z man! Their insane variety of ballads, psychedelia and bangers will amaze you. Seriously just pick one at random, you can never go wrong! 💯👍🏾
There's so many great Beatles songs, and such a variety. Check out Strawberry Fields Forever, Penny Lane, A Day in the Life, I Am the Walrus, Here Comes the Sun, Something, , Rain, Paperback Writer, Hey Jude, Let It Be. I could go on and on, but these are good to start with. The Beatles are what got me into music, and they have always been my favorite.
One of the greatest of all time. Listen to the whole Whit Album son. It's a double album but if you loved Come Together you'll love that whole album. Love you Zay and Zel too!!!! Give love to your wonderful Mom for me too!!!! Thanks for the great content as always!!!! Hope to watch much more of you both soon!!!!! Be well and stay safe out there!!!!!!!
This band is top tier! They’re the best band that has ever exited and to express their popularity and how important they are would be impossible put into words
Another great time watching you hear great music for the first time, Zay! What you get with The Beatles is some of the finest songwriting you'll ever encounter. They worked hard on every song, and crafted each one until they were satisfied with it. There are great songs throughout their entire catalog. Early on, their songs were made for radio in the 60s--2-3 minutes long, and filled with great melodies, clever harmonies (listen to "If I Fell" some of the most gorgeous two-part harmonies you will ever hear), and interesting song structures. Later, they got more experimental, and that's the period where Abbey Road, the album that "Come Together" is on fits into their song cycle. I could recommend scads of songs for you to try, but you really can't go wrong. Have fun, Zay! And don't forget--the music of King Crimson awaits you!
I have my parents to thank for my love of music, and specifically The Beatles. They gave me my first Beatles album for my birthday when I was 7 years old, back in 1964, which was the release year of their very first US album “Meet the Beatles”. Apparently I started drumming on things when I was a toddler, and they thought they’d encourage my love for drumming. They also turned me on to The Dave Clark Five - contemporaries of The Beatles - and I loved them, because leader Dave Clark was the drummer! The Beatles rabbit-hole is full of great music. Enjoy!
You got me beat by 3 years. My grandmother gave me my first album by anybody when I was 7 in 1967. It was the soundtrack of Help on Capitol Records. It has the James Bond sounding instrumentals on it which I always thought was cool. That really put the hooks in me as far as Rock and Roll went. I still have the album too .
I was about the same age when I got the same album. Not the later, “Withe The Beatles” though they had the same cover picture. I spent countless hours singing with the songs from that album! Their early music was so different and fresh sounding from anything being played in the US at the time. Of course, their “Radical” long hair and collarless suits freaked out all of our parents. The newsreel footage of teenage girls screaming, fainting, and endlessly chasing them everywhere they appeared in public, scared the older folks to death! Lol!!!
They changed the world. They really did. They hit the scene like an atomic blast. Nothing was the same afterwards, and every single great band I love admired and emulated them: U2, Pink Floyd, Stones, Tom Petty, Eric Clapton….
My first real musical love was the Beatles. I was in love! They were well before my time because I was a teen and young adult in the 80s. And while I have eclectic musical tastes and enjoy so many artists, my first real love was the Beatles. 😍
This was the final group effort ever by The Beatles, a month or so before the release of Abbey Road, Aug 1969. Some peoples favorite. George Harrison was just 26 years old. John being all of 29. They were definitive. I love your reaction! One of the best Beatle reacts i've seen. And a lot of people have recently been appreciating this group and I love it!
A Day I the Life is considered by many not only oe of the best thigs they've ever done but one of the greatest songs ever, period. Others to consider Revolution, Let It Be, Hey Jude ,Eleanor Rigby the whole Abbey Road album, oops
This song is an amazing demonstration of what happens when the Blues are interpreted by English rock bands of the 60s. The song is pretty much a straight up I, IV, V, 12 bar blues. I love that period of music. The artistic creativity was off the charts.
I was in high school when that came out. Listening to that hypnotic effect put me almost in a trance. And the lyrics had this sexually suggestive content woven in (and I had to listen to it with headphones so my parents would catch that, and because it's better through headphones). I loved the hints the lyrics create, but not quite answering. That's another aspect of their songwriting. They made you work it out; made you work for it; and yet not fully answer it for you. Kept you coming back! If you haven't already, try the White Album. 'Yer Birthday' is a barrage of heavy rock and roll! The White Album is a collection of different styles, both quirky, and down right rock! They were always exploring and trying different things. Thanks for review Come Together! Love your eagerness to explore. 🙂
I love The Beatles, especially the early stuff. I was blown away the first time I heard this, it was such a departure from their feel-good pop. Such a cool, funky beat! And the lyrics turn your head around. What did he just say??? Try Helter Skelter next. Read up on the story behind it.
Glad you’re enjoying the Beatles catalog! If you want to experience how great they really were I’d suggest you do full album reactions, even if you were to upload them to patreon! Their musical evolution is INSANE
The Beatles were/are great for many reasons. The uniqueness and creativity of their songs, but also because they did it all; rock, ballads, hard rock, acid rock, playful, love songs, you name it and they did it as well or better than anyone else.

Drive My Car from their earlier years , very funky for that time in 1965.. Back in USSR and '' Dear Prudence' ,check it out .. They are made to play together if you can find a vid with them attached properly .
Love the Beatles. Saw them live at Dodger Stadium in L.A. I went with my father. Do more reactions to the Grateful Dead. Dark Star would be a good start.
Do “Yer Blues”, “Why Don’t We Do It In The Road”, and Helter Skelter”. All from the “White Album” 1970. Probably their best, most mature and creative album. It was their last album. But, to fully understand The Beatle phenomenon, you would need to start with their early stuff from the early 1960’s. Most of us Beatles fans were young kids when they changed rock forever with their, at the time, much different chords, riffs, and harmonies. As has been said many times before, WE grew up WITH The Beatles as THEY grew up musically and politically, as well as age. WE went through the same things that influenced their music, so we related with every change in musical style they gave us. They even created some of the modern categories of rock as they, and we, grew up. In my opinion, they paved the way for nearly ALL of what we think of today as “Rock and Roll”!
Zay just let the record play out. Abby Road is a masterpiece. Their final studio album and what an exit. There are too many songs to list but Rubber Soul, Sgt. Peppers, White Album, shoot they all have something
The Beatles have to be my favourite band they have a level of versatility that is unmatched and were innovative in almost every way… keep in mind this bands catalogue consists of over 200 songs all released within about 8 years and all before 1970 to top it all off! These guys did it all at! My recommendation would honestly be to listen to the whole catalogue from Rubber Soul onward but otherwise, I recommend In My Life, She said She Said, With a little Help From My Friends, I Am The Walrus, Dear Prudence, Here Comes the Sun…Ig I got a little carried away lmao
Guys, I soooo badly need you to review Eddie Hazel’s cover of “I Want You (She’s So Heavy)” by the Beatles. Your channel is great, and I look forward to seeing you guys discover more otherworldly classics. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE do yourselves a favor and listen to Eddie Hazel.
Phat bass. On tha' one drums. Funk-a-telechy vocals. Killah Dillah lines. Slippery, wicked gee-tur. Didn't hear this audaciousness of a groove til Prince picked up their crown, and took their sword forth, and carried on Tha' Mission: While My Guitar Gently Weeps. Indeed. Baybee, indeed...
Come Together is the first song on their Abbey Road album, which is an awesome album heard beginning to end. Particularly side 2 of the album (beginning with "Here Comes the Sun"), that is best experience in its entirety since most songs blend into following ones, typical of concept albums. When you play Abbey Road there's one last brief Paul song "Her Majesty" that starts about 15 seconds after you think the album is over. I suggest you do the next song on the album "Something" written and sung by George Harrison. Was consider _the_ most beautiful love song ever written.✌😎
Three of my favorites from The Beatles are Strawberry Fields Forever, I Am the Walrus, and Baby You're a Rich Man. But then there are so so many more..... Check out David Bowie and John Lennon (from the Beatles), Fame. Funky!!!
The Beatles will blow your mind! They two hundred and fifty smash hits! You will have hours and hours of listening pleasure that you won't be able to believe. I suggest that you start by listening to birthday, Helter skelter, and she's so heavy I want you.
Love the Beatles! They seriously evolved along with music! Here comes the sun and hey Jude are my favourites. I noticed that you guys really appreciate Led Zeppelin, Dyer Maker is an awesome song, it has reggae vibes.
Since they First Showed up in Their Matching French Made Suits, the World has been falling for, and Copying Everything The FAB FOUR Does for Over 60 yrs. Somehow them Lads from Liverpool knew how Be Trend setters!! Great Reaction! Till next Time, Peace, & Love ✌️
The Beatles released more than 200 recordings. They have many, many songs that are timeless classics, many that are merely good, and a few that, to my ears at least, are not very good. I'm glad that your first exposure was two good ones. There are from the Beatles late period. I'd personally advise you to do something like chronological order so you can see how they changed over time. Some of their best early songs are: "I Want to Hold Your Hand" "I Saw Her Standing There" "It Won't Be Long" "All I've Got to Do" "All My Loving" "I Should Have Known Better" "If I Fell" "I'm Happy Just to Dance with You" "And I Love Her" "Any Time at All"
'i am the walrus' is a classic, u can't really go wrong with any Beatles track but 'i am the walrus' is my favourite. You got to check out 'change' by Blind Melon at some point, you won't regret it👍
Dude. Love your content. But been a while. Do more please. Signed - an old white guy Vietnam Era Vet who has faced the enemy weapons at close range with brothers of every race. Please man, love your work.
What I've always loved about this song is how it feels both very raw and very controlled at the same time.
Yes exactly like a machine
Funny how Paul McCartney is rarely mentioned among the greatest bassists, but everybody knows that line at the beginning. And it’s unique. 🤷♂️
Come Together, Taxman, Something, Dear Prudence and many more!! Paul is definitely UNDERRATED as impossible as that sounds

Doesn't get much better than Come Together

Super reaction!
Some of their best early songs are:
"I Want to Hold Your Hand"
"I Saw Her Standing There"
"It Won't Be Long"
"All I've Got to Do"
"All My Loving"
"I Should Have Known Better"
"If I Fell"
"I'm Happy Just to Dance with You"
"And I Love Her"
"Any Time at All"
This is the Beatles song that fucks the most. Hands down. It’s the pimp walk of Beatles songs. Shoulda just called it Strut.
'i am the walrus' is a classic, u can't really go wrong with any Beatles track but 'i am the walrus' is my favourite. You got to check out 'change' by Blind Melon at some point, you won't regret it👍
More Beatles please 😎
