Wow! I hadn't thought about it, but I was 13 years old. Wow, how time flies. I have loved The Beatles practically my whole life. Thanks for doing this song.
I was 8 at the time and absolutely crushed. It was one of those moments like 9/11 or the Kennedy assassination. I can literally picture exactly where I was when I heard the bad news. I think it ruined me for months.
Hi Mom!! You've an outstanding son here who is doing a phenomenal job with his reactions. I am a huge Beatles fan and happy to see Zay getting into them. The Beatles were forerunners in so many aspects. They were a rare (for the time) talent in that they could write their own songs and play their own instruments - no hit makers or session musicians (unless specifically invited) necessary. The Beatles innovated song writing techniques, recording techniques and melody construction. They weren't afraid to use odd sounds and production techniques to create other-worldly masterpieces. They drew on many influences and were the first band to elevate pop music to art. The Beatles are to the 60s what Zeppelin was for the 70s.
I'm 75 years old and have LIVED 60's 70's and part of the 80's music. The 70's is a treasure trove of he best music of the 20th century. The late 50's and early 60's were the birth of rock and roll, but when the Beatles hit it went main stream and that changed the world. Communisms fell, in part because of the Beatles. Race relations changed because young people dug the Black artists that made MOTOWN music a constant play on the radio stations in there area. The kids spent there money on 45's and later LP'S and made a industry hungry for more and different talent. That talent peaked in the 70's as some of the most innovative artists tested the music waters and created sounds that have not been duplicated. I pray that after i'm gone that young smart people like your son stay with this music and carry on a appreciation for it forward to the next generation.
Your mom isn’t old enough to have been here at the time the Beatles hit. I was 16. It was a seismic shift snd it was immediate. There’s really no way to explain to you younger folk the CULTURAL POWER that great musicians had in the sixties and seventies. Music then wasn’t as fractured as it is now. Millions of kids listened to the same music and were influenced by what the artists did and said. The Beatles had HUGE clout to literally change the musical taste of a generation. They progressed and changed, and dragged us along with them. They were The Beatles….if they did it, it was good. Only other artist with that much cultural influence for my generation was Bob Dylan.
While I am a lil too young for the Beatles hitting the world, being born in 1967, their music was given to me and passed along by older family members. My daughter's were raised by ALL kinds of wonderful music. They are 31yrs and 21yrs old now. The memory you just made here for us brings happiness to my heart! God bless you both!!! Adorable!!!
Billy Preston on electric piano, is the only other non Beatle musician to receive a credit on a Beatles album. Clapton declined a credit for,”While My Guitar Gently Weeps.” Shout out to Mom, big Zay! P.S. Check out Billy’s catalog as well, it’s great. 🤘😎
Incorrect, if you read the album inclusions of other musicians there’s a special thanks to Eric Clapton. as huge a fan of the Beatles and George’s abilities there’s no way any fan didn’t know it wasn’t him playing lead…
Good Reaction Guys to their final ever, impromptu, appearance which ended when The Police came as the crowds below gathered once they realized what was happening.
Heck yeah man…the Beatles are one of the few bands I would put up there with Zeppelin as far as their undeniability. They write complex chord progressions and melodies (try to play a Beatles song on piano and you’ll see what I mean) but do it in such a way that is so effortless and playful that a child could sing along…and they do it over and over again. The Beatles are masters. Again, if you haven’t familiarized yourself with this band, they will be a paradigm shift in how you view music after them. Their complexity is so complete that you would miss it if you didn’t know what they were doing, that’s how good they are.
Absolutely! They can do the simplest songs too, and make them sound incredible. Any genre, they did it, sometimes before it became a genre. Every piece new and different and always fully committed to the perfection of the music.
Awesome reaction with mom! She's so beautiful AND she did a great job in bringing up a fine young man. Reminds me of me!! LOL Ya'll have a good one...your friends in northeast Florida!
"We definitely gonna get into more Beatles soon." Not trying to bust em bruh, but you've done a grand total of 1 more Beatles song since - Come Together the other day.
Yes…your son makes funny faces when listening to music! It’s one of the reasons we love watching him. Great song Zay. The entire Beatles catalog is groundbreaking. They were the beginning of the old rock you/we love. Almost every band in the 70’s credit the Beatles. Zay…I thought of a great guitar song I like you to hear/react. It is Lou Reed - Rock N Roll Animal and the song is Intro/Sweet Jane. It is a live album (I saw them on this tour in ‘73) and it features two of the finest rock guitarist Dick Wagner & Steve Hunter. There isn’t a live video..the one on utube is the following year with dubbed music…not good….just listen to album version. Lou Reed was punk 20 years before punk existed. Excellent album!
Hey Zays mom ! Great to see y'all on a vid together ! Great song too ! We may be cool, but we will never be John Lennon in a fur coat singing on a rooftop cool !
I'm new to the channel by about three songs but who knows if this has happened it probably has but I just want to first of all say, I'm glad you're into checking this stuff out and I wish you would do the new Beatles one and maybe some other stuff, but anyway shout out to your mom she is so freaking cool.
Awww look at you and mom! 😃.....cute! The Beatles have so many favorites including this one....next time react to Come Together, We Can Work It Out, Let It Be and Hey Jude...all bangers, imo.😉
Great idea to have your mom on with you. I'm shocked though that she never heard this song. I hope she remembers them performing on the roof like that, and what John said at the end : )
Ah, man! First of all, mom, I can't believe you never heard this. Secondly, a white mom with a black son, sitting in a car listening to the Beatles on the rooftop makes my heart soar. I love this more than you can imagine. I'm subscribing right now!
You and your Mom are such a cute pair. I hope you both know how lucky you are to have each other! Some of my favorite moments when I was a teenager was when I was listening to the radio playing a song from a group I liked, and my Mom would call out from the kitchen, "I like them? What's their name?" My Mom's still around at 96, and she can't remember the names of the groups, but when she hears a bit of the song she says, "Oh, I loved that!" You two are so fortunate you can share the gift of music with each other.
Great mom-son team. And these guys, the Beatles: funkified, soulful, grooving. What a range they had, giving future geniuses like Prince the template to explore without boundaries. Dig it.
SO THIS JUST SO HAPPENS TO BE, IF I'M NOT MISTAKEN, THE VERY LAST PUBLIC PERFORMANCE OF THE BEATLES!!! IT WAS A SPONTANEOUS DECISION TO HAVE A ROOFTOP MINI CONCERT ON THE ROOF OF APPLE RECORDS!!! CAN YOU IMAGINE WALKING DOWN THE STREET IN LONDON AND ALL OF A SUDDEN THE BEATLES ARE PLAYING ON A ROOFTOP???
This song was part of a live concert the band did on the roof of the recording studio in London while they were recording the songs for their "Let It Be" album. The police chased them off the roof shortly after the video was recorded, since they were tying up traffic on the streets below..
Hey Zay (shout out to Zel) Awesome! Way too cool with you and your mom. For someone to say they never heard that song before is proff that she is way too young to be your mom. For your mom ⚘⚘⚘⚘ peace. (Have more special guest. From Lombard Illinois Israel-007
If this wasn't impressive enough, it's notable that Beatles bassist and most successful British songwriter of all time Paul McCartney recently headlined the UK Glastonbury festival at the age of 80 - singing in the same pitch he could in the 1960s.
This may not have been the most harmonious time for the Beatles, but once on stage and counted themselves in, what a band, still unsurpassed after nigh on fifty years!!😁😁🇬🇧

There's a part in this particular performance where John forgets the word and sings nonsensical words to get through it, but not it's not French.
This is the Beatles as I loved them. Together for the last time, they put their differences aside to enjoy working together one more time. Don't tell me your Mom is hearing this for the first time???? I figured your Mom would know this and would be watching your first-time reaction, no, we get two first times! 😊😊
This song actually never made it to a Beatles album. Phil Spector cut it from the Let It Be album. It was only released as the B side on the Get Back single which was the A side. Normally that would make it a throw away song but of course it is the Beatles so this song eventually has led to 400 million UA-cam views.
American women are the cutets on the world. And whit all the respect, your mom is one of those!. Anyway nice reaction, but you've started from the end of the Beatles, that was the last presentation of them in live 1970. They begun oficcially in 1960.
Man she can't be your mother she looks so young! So great to see parent and child smiling together. Sad to think some people don't have a good relationship with their parents. We should count our blessings!
It's a beauty, My fav song off Let It Be
Cool having Moms there. HEY MOM.
Very, very cool. Wish my Mom was still here to do this with me.
I'm actually crying just looking at your thumbnail. Makes me miss my own mom. You guys are beautiful, and I look forward to the video.
Nice to see you listening to them with your mother. Smile, smile, smile…
I was heartbroken when they broke up. I was 14. 😪
Hey Mom...you have a great son!! We can tell you did a wonderful job.👍❤🤙

I just got The Beatles Get Back on blu ray. It's very cool watching them learn this song and many others The Beatles will never be topped.
Hey great video to do with your Mom!! Hi there Mom!! You raised a great Son!! Remember Hun age is only a number!!
It will be a miracle if this stays up!. Great song though ! I hope this works out. If not I hope you and your mom enjoyed doing this together anyway!
Still up

Hi Zay’s mom! Love the Beatles! R.I.P. John and George.
Never forget... The 5th Beatle, Billy Preston on the keyboard for that song👍
Love Billy Preston. He was on keys when I saw George Harrison live. I just have to say, George Martin was the fifth Beatle
Welcome to the wonderful world of The Beatles Zay .
And hello Zay's mum !
I believe that was the last concert they did. It was January 1969 on the roof of the Apple Corps building
Nice to meet you Mom!!!!!! Your Son is a wonderful boy that you raised right!!! Lots of love to you both!!!!!
Hi mom!!! Welcome aboard… you have raised a good son! Enjoy more Beatles they influenced everybody!
Cant' go wrong with the Beatles....this was enjoyable 🙂
I’ve been. Beatles fan since I was 16. I’m now 75. Even got to see them in 1966.

You've got a very cool mom, and she raised a good son.
Thanks Smokey, you the man✊🏽
that whole roof top concert is awesome

There are soooo many songs from the Beatles ranging from simple to complex but all are great. Your Mom was cool too I dig her energy.
🎸❤️
Their playing in February in London England outside and still sound like the best band in the World. That's called hard core kids.
My mom got me into the Beatles. LOVE this!! ❤️❤️❤️ (Hi Mom!)
Lol...I totally get you...it was my Dad for me...now my 3 grandkids are huge Beatles fans...15, 13 and 8 😃

Wish you guys were closer me and ur mom could def be friends! 🤣🤣 love this format. We need more MOM!!!
Son, you weren't in a position to be able to see Mom's reaction, but putting it politely, those Beatle boys had your Mom, "blushing", for sure...!

Greetings to your mom,she really loves the Beatles, and glows by listening.🌹

John Lennon's voice is a musical instrument in and of itself. Rip great man.
Omg you both are so adorable! Music really does bring the world together ❤️
