So I'm a little late to the party with a bunch of videos being made pointing out how stupid and sad Disney adults are, and for the most part they are right. This isn't a defense of my people, but rather an explanation. This isn't made to change your mind, but maybe it'll give you at least some insight to how we became they way we are. I know our obsession is weird but what hobby or interest isn't when you really peel back the layers. No matter how you feel going into or coming out of this video i just want to thank you personally for just clicking it and spending a little time hanging out with me, it does mean a lot.

Disney World is a nostalgia time castle.
Being a "new Floridian" we moved down here in 06. The parks have gone a long way.
You can do the parks cheap or you can go all out.
As a kid, Disney was a nightmare having anxiety and hating rides, Chucky cheese used to scare tf out of me, so the mascots I wasn't a fan of.
As I got into my teens and 20s, my fear of rides still remained the same physically. Though by then, 2017, the parks have drastically changed.
The Magic Kingdom I still love, main Street and sitting next to walt for the photo. Was something traditional. Seeing the big balloons, smelling the cookies and baked goods from that one spot. Knowing there's a 12' hotdog I can devour and have a good time by the castle. Tomorrowland still remains my favorite spot of the park. 2nd favorite is frontierland and then fantasy land.
The parks are fun when you are older cause you don't have to make as many stops as you would with a family full of kids.
Single riders lines have advantages. If getting off the ride and hopping back on. The fun of "again, again, again!" For space mountain, or any thrill ride. The competitiveness to see how fast you can walk the park, how fast you can "wait" how you can slide into 1 ride and eat in line waiting for the next ride.
Going with friends is an experience.
    Different than with family.
Disney is still special in my heart. The vision Walt had for children of everywhere on a global scale.
Everytime I feel like a kid when I cross that ticket booth. Listening to the music and the announcer on the voice box. Seeing the costume wear, the themes of sales and theming of everything. Really is magical.
Everytime I visit it's like a time portal. I teleport. To what ever vision, what ever world Walt wanted.
Epcot IS my favorite 2ndary park. Because the foods and cultures from around the world meet at 1 place. It's where you can have American food and jump to Italy and see ratatouille, you can jump to Japan and have dumplings. You can jump to mexico and have street foods.
Like. Yeah of course Disney has to live up to the standards with today's moving trends. With both food and the seasonal holidays.
Disney is the only park where everyday feels like Christmas during the holiday season. The gift of laughter and having a good time. Where Walt feels like a distant grandpa we all wanted or needed.
    That's the parks. For me.

Thank you for sharing. It’s cool to read what other people’s traditions are when in the parks 😊

Nostalgia is a hell of a drug. You've always done Disney. VHS and older types of media have been mine. Our need for involvement has changed, you learned to love the rides and parks differently and I have taken to making retro media. They are things that offer a wonderful feeling of a time that was much simpler. They are totems in our minds that we cling to what puts that warm fuzzy blanket on. Thanks for sharing with us duder :) we love what we love and we should do it unabashedly.

Thank you! 😊 it’s weird opening yourself up to strangers on the internet but hopefully no one will notice lol

I equate Disney to something like Christmas:
Both have well meaning to them that Transend time and have Deeper meanings to us.
Yet both have been touched by the fact that we will always live in a society that 'If People Like it, Then we can make Bank off of them.' mentality with some people.
and isn't that with Anything people like? It's just with Disney and Christmas is a HELL of allot bigger than most Fandoms.

That’s actually a great comparison. No one can take away the feelings and memories you made regardless where they happened or which holiday you celebrated. All that matters is you care about something and can rely on those memories to get you through tough times.

How did you learn to appreciate the new memories you were creating?
I love going to the parks now that my older son can enjoy many more rides. I even find myself enjoying rides that I usually wouldn't go on, just for him.

That’s great! Which rides have you started liking more? I don’t have children but if I did I would love to show them all the things I did with my family. As for appreciating the newer memories I was able to realize things aren’t going to feel exactly the same as they were 20+ years ago, and I was able to just appreciate the time with myself or with the person I was on vacation with.
