  • Lena Zavaroni was a Scottish singer and television show host. In 1974, Lisa Hilda Zavaroni appeared on Opportunity Knocks hosted by Hughie Green and won the show for a record-breaking five weeks running. She followed this with the album Ma! He's Making Eyes At Me, a collection of classic and then-recent pop standards reached number eight in the UK album chart. At 10 years, and 146 days old, Zavaroni remains the youngest person to have an album in the Top 10.
Later she starred in her own television series, made numerous TV guest star appearances, and appeared on stage. From the age of thirteen, Zavaroni suffered anorexia nervosa and also developed clinical depression when she was fifteen. Following an operation to cure her depression, Zavaroni died at the age of thirty-five from pneumonia on 1 October 1999.

I met Lena in London in the 80's. She was walking her dog in Richmond by the river.
My friend and I were actually fussing over her dog and petting it, and she was so sweet. It wasn't until we started walking away that we suddenly realised who she was! Lol.
Bless her. Such a talented woman 💖💖

People should try to think before they speak, there is hope in the future for Lena, she is in line for a future to this restored earth, ressurected according to Jesus account at the time when Lazarus was ressurected he said at Acts 24:15 "And I have hope toward God, which hope these men also look forward to, that there is going to be a resurrection of both the righteous and the unrighteous" where? Not to heaven as most feel and think but back on this planet AFTER it has been put back saved from ruin by God himself as Psalms 37 shows v 8... Let go of anger and abandon rage; Do not become upset and turn to doing evil. 9 For evil men will be done away with, But those hoping in Jehovah will possess the earth. 10 Just a little while longer, and the wicked will be no more; You will look at where they were, And they will not be there. 11 But the meek will possess the earth,And they will find exquisite delight in the abundance of peace. 12The wicked man plots against the righteous; He grinds his teeth at him. 13 But Jehovah will laugh at him, For He knows that his day will come. Lovely video thank you . I remember Lena and her time on opportunity knocks. She really caused a stir at the time. So sad that her o life was short and tragic toward the end. I think the pressure of looking good in that industry was very detrimental to a lot of young girls and women. Nice to see she is still remembered and she is at peace now. What a beautiful memorial ♥️♥️

Looking at the style of headstones and the full interments that's a cemetery where a lot of Catholics are buried. Although in recent years cremations have been allowed, traditionally Catholics are buried. The figure of the Virgin Mary is very popular on headstones. Given Lena's father was Italian, her grave is not surprising.
