      Yep you’ll get Tigar Squid an hour either side of the high tide. Couple of nights either side of the full moon.

      Land and Bay Fishing I looked up that wish braid you are using, it sure is pricey stuff, I use kastking from either ebay or AliExpress whichever is cheaper. You can get 300m from about $8 delivered, or 300m 8 strand for $15. KastKing Mega8 Super Strong 274M 8 Strands Weaves PE Braided Fishing Line Rope Multifilament 20LB 25LB 30LB 40LB 50LB 65LB 80LB

    In choosing a location, looking for weed or reef, can this be estuary or up river OR does it need to be ocean side? Great vid. Thanks.

    G day Wayne, I'm looking to give squidding a go in a few weeks. Just wondering if you have any tips regarding the best tides and times etc.
    Excellent content mate. Cheers

      Hi Harry. I like the top 4 hours of the tide especially when it's around sun set or rise

    Like the videos very informative, however I would like to comment about your braid sizing information. 0.008 inches / 19lb equates to 0.2032mm . This is just a very average braid nothing super thin about it and you can buy it for around $2.00 /300m (cheap) from Wish. Personally I prefer a better quality and thiner braid on my reels.

    • @Wayne.Groomes.Fishing
      @Wayne.Groomes.Fishing  6 років тому

      That is an error on my part. The Wish braid I was referring too was .08mm at 18lb. Thanks for pointing that out.

    Thanks for sharing the information! I usually go to the shorn cliffe area for arrow squid at night time. Is there a difference the way to fish between "arrow squid" and "tiger squid"? and what time is good for fishing them?

    • @Wayne.Groomes.Fishing
      @Wayne.Groomes.Fishing  5 років тому +1

      godkyungsu arrow squid like the current and tend to be found in good numbers off jetties. Tigers seem to prefer the structure in close to our shoreline. Nights are better

    I’ve brought a egi rod and I honestly can’t feel anything. I’ve got 10LB braid and 15lb mono leader but can’t feel the squid bite.

    • @Icemane1995
      @Icemane1995 4 роки тому

      I’ve caught about 4 squid but didn’t feel the bite only knew it was on when it had already taken the jig.

      Timothy Rowan were they arrow squid or tiger squid? I guarantee you will feel the tigers.

    Hey Wayne, thank you for a great video. I have watched it a few times now.
    I have a couple of questions to the lacquer on the jigs?
    Q1: Why do you do it?
    Q2: Is it lacquer or epoxy?
    Q3: What type of 2 part lacquer do you use? and where do you purchase it from?
    Kind Regards Andy :)

      +Andy Curtis is 1. It prolongs the life of the Jig.
      2 + 3. It’s the 2 pack epoxy used on Fishing rod guides. Check eBay
