Glad it was helpful! Your very welcome.
Great video again Alan,
The mistake I made when I started soft plastic fishing was that I had too much slack in the system.
Especially when there was wind creating a bow in my braid.
I started having more success when someone showed me how to work that line between tension and slack and watching for that line to dip when you contact bottom.
Great sp101 here!
6:21 That's probably some of the best advice I could have for lures and soft plastic. Maybe even with dead shrimp.
This is the best video for what I’m looking for on UA-cam, cheers mate!
Glad you liked it! heaps more helpful stuff on the channel like this too
Exactly the video i was looking for. Other videos are fun to watch but skip over basics, which is just what a frustrated beginner like me needs. Thanks so much for sharing these wonderful tips.

Never used soft plastics before, I followed all your advice to a tee. Skunked out yesterday, but got up early today, and bagged 2 good sized flathead in quick succession out in Yamba. I don't think I would have been able to do it without your advice. It was heaps of fun, and now I just want to get out there tomorrow!
What a machine! You abs land fish TV are the reason I lure fish, massive inspiration

Fantastic video Alan! I don't think people realise just how tedious and hard it is to make a video with all this awesome info and demonstrations. It's definitely a lot harder than filming a fishing trip!

All good advice Alan. Sometimes I never know if I lift my rod too fast or slow. I see some fishos rip their rod so hard I imaging just the fish lips hanging off the hook.
I like the advantages of soft plastics since if you get no bites just pack up.

Awesome, thank you! Glad you enjoyed it.
May I ask what would you recommend for soft plastic rod on the bank targeting reddies on the lake? Particularly in Miller rods range, there’s so many of it idk which one to save my money for. 8lb braide 8lb leader is what I would go for with a Vanford 2500. Please?
100% cant go past the grub freak, its an amazing soft plastic rod. I also own a twicth freak and brawler, I find a lot of times i end up using the twicth freak.
Thanks so much for sharing. Very detailed explanation for us. Second cast and fish hooked, best example that shows it really works. And, yes we learned something good today. 👍
I got absolutely every answer about fishing with soft plastics. Thank you ssoo much Alan :)

Really helpful video friend, im from South Africa, a trainer fisherman.I am fishing in salt water rivers, but this video helped alot. Awesome.
Steven nel
Really glad you found it helpful, awesome to know our content is being watched in South Africa, Hello from Australia.
AMAZING VIDEO , thank you.
Awesome, Thanks !!
Enjoyed it 👍 😊
Great video. A light rod is a must. I recently tried an ultralight rod, it is amazing for casting hardly any effort especially when using very light lures of 4 to 6 grams.
Yeah finesse fishing is so much fun. I have a few ultra light rods and it just takes fishing for bread and butter species to another level.
Great video thanks
great video thank you😊
Great video Allan :) thanks heaps :))
You are very welcome, glad you enjoyed it
Really helpful
Cheers
Great content mate

Favorite Black Swan. Cool rod.

Good video. Thank you
Good video, thanks
Cheers Made.
Fantastic!
Many thanks!
Enjoying your vids and just became a member so I can get a head start on fishing around Melb and Victoria. Was wandering how you go about setting the right amount of drag for this light setup.
Thanks !! That's wonderful. There is actually a video in our member's area specifically on how I like the set the drag for light and medium reels. If you need help finding it let me know or don't hesitate to email me directly. Thanks
Thanks bro😊✅ it will help me cuz I’m beginner
Thanks again Alan, good info. Would you please name the place you are when fishing so we have a good idea where to go. Thank you.
Niceeee video! So cool
Thank you for showing how to fish with soft bate
One thing my spin rods always seem to suffer with on fluro leaders is the tiny little guides at the end catching on the line on the way out and sometimes the way in too. Even with the FG knot still had a few disasters
Yeah I get the same issues at times especially with micro guides on high end rods. the trick for me has been to get a higher grade braid with thinner diameter. Things like gosen 16x or Daiwa Saltiga 12
so good!
Thank you !!
Great video. Thank you. Maybe it has been answered in the comments somewhere, but my question is - how long of a leader do you use/recommend? Keep up the good work.
Thanks, always 1 rod length of leader.
Very good , thank you ..
Your very Welcome!
