Hi Wayne I used to work at Suttons Beach Seafood doing odd jobs about 40yrs ago. 1 of the ways we used to cook squid tubes was we would stuff them with sandcrab meat ,crumb them and deep fry them. it was a perfect combination. i don'[t know if to many people could afford them these days, but they are spectacular eating.😍
This year has been pretty awful conditions for catching squid - since floods. A couple of nice sessions over the past month for fishing in general - water quality is improving. FYI - the ink compartment is smaller and has a reflective colour. The ones you pointed out were possibly squid pre-loading a sack with thick fluid and a drop of ink colour ready for defence.
Hey Wayne, when does the good winter season end for squid? Im heading to Brissy mid August and hoping to try some of your land based spots from your other vids.
@@Wayne.Groomes.Fishing bro i was watching your video on beach fishing on the cut, in india there is a cut in the sea where the sewage water enters the sea and that has made a cut, will i find any fish on there
I have a few questions, 1: what do I do to let the squid tire, do I reel it slowly, or do I just fight it with the rod, and let it tire itself? 2: does the water condition matter much? I get that if the water is brown it’s probably not going to be good for squid, but does the water need to be crystal clear? 3: when is the best season, I’ve had a little luck in spring and autumn, but I rarely see any big ones in winter, is that an issue with location, or is it because of breeding times? Sorry if the questions don’t make much sense, I’m not great at English.
Thanks for the tips Wayne, love the karate chop lol

August is still very productive
You can cook up the tentacles and wings too they’re just as tasty.
Sure can.

With regards to the Redcliffe peninsula. 1 use a very light drag and let it run, 2 clean clear water is best 3 cooler months.
What about boat based in the bay Wayne?
Mud island on the east side is great all year round.
What jigs are those?
I use a few different brands. Favorite is egilishish
Nice episode mate! Feel free to check out some of our squid videos here in Tasmania :)
