Yeah, I've been on the fence about which one. I have a DJI Mavic Pro but want to get into FPV. I don't think this drone is a good starter for me. Probably tiny hawk?
@@jonashediger182 I bought the tiny hawk and my kids and I race for time around the house. Now we want more to compete. Even my wife plays with it every now and then. It is fun to hear her scream when she hits things. Christmas this year may get expensive if it keeps their interest. It's great on cold days when no one wants to go outside.
Wow, Kelly, very cool little FPV starter set. EMAX sure put out a complete starter kit at an excellent price. It looks like a unique Christmas gift for the grandkids to start FPV flying. Thank you, Kelly, I wish you and your family a Very Happy and Safe Thanksgiving Holiday, take care!
Happy Holidays Kelly. Nice beginners set for FPV. I am considering after meeting and seeing Ed Ricker at SpinUp 2019. You present well these mini-reviews of drones, skateboard, etc... I'm still learning the hobby but enjoying the journey.

Phenomenal video so helpful. I purchased one of these for me and my son and I was struggling to bind it so it was pretty much useless. Now we are really starting to have fun with it after watching the video. Can you possibly do a video on different types of goggle and their functionality?
I picked one of these up with a few spare drone batteries. Still learning how to fly it, but this video sure explains the basics very well... better than the paper instructions. I still don't consider the drone simple to fly... my DJI Phantom is dead simple. With the DJI and hands off the sticks it stops and waits for your next input. GPS is nice... this takes a bit more skill. :) Nice flying, BTW. :)
I think I rather just jump into the tiny hawk RTF kit. Too bad the Tiny hawkS doesn’t come with a RTF kit. I was hoping EMax would release that before Xmas...This looks more for kids who never Flew before. Also always Kelly great vid... thank for all the great reviews
Hi, How do you know when you have the right chanel please, there are several ez pilot videos on you tube and all seem to have F-01- 5740 but your on R-09-5732?
Just go acro mode though, get through the frustration and have so much more fun. Was wondering about the Emax goggles quality, but hard to say as it's dependent on the incoming feed. :x
Think they'll have black friday deals on bangood? Waiting for a price point for combo set, Tiny Hawk, for around $120 for an indoor fpv drone with everything.
coo this helped us with our ez pilots. i bought a couple of these for my boys having trouble setting them up to fly at the same time. seem to be on same channel/frequency. can you direct me where to find the info
Yes - try one of these videos. Basically, you can access the OSD (on screen display) by doing a combination with the sticks. And from there you can change the frequency that the drone is broadcasting video on. ua-cam.com/video/J3fQ13Kt3rU/v-deo.html and ua-cam.com/video/IquVteIvXnA/v-deo.html Hope that helps!
Hey, Great video. I bought one after watching your video a few days ago. It arrived today so I charged it and tried it out today. It immediately drifted to the left and I couldn't get it to stop. Tried calibrating the remote but I can't follow the directions they wrote. Now the drone immediate flips and goes wildly out of control on takeoff. Can you show or tell how the remote, they call it gimball, calibration is done? I tried setting it on a level surface after plugging in the battery so I don't know if the drone or remote is out of whack. Thanks.
One thing - are you setting it down quickly after plugging it in? It looks for what "level" is to calibrate, so if you plug it in and then hold it in your hands for a while, it won't calibrate correctly. Try plugging the battery in and then setting it down within 5 seconds. Hopefully that will fix the issue. LMK how it goes.
@@readysetdrone I saw you mentioned that on the video so I tried several times to plug it in and set down on a level surface ASAP. The thing would fly but drift hard left on takeoff. I fly DJI quite a bit so I put started using Intermediate or middle mode so it would control pretty much the same. No luck. I tried following the procedure for "Gimbal calibration" which I think means remote calibration. After that, the drone just flipped over like a bug. The instructions are a bit vague though. Everyone should know that EMAX contacted me a couple days after I submitted a question and they have already sent me a return label. They said I tried everything they would recommend and are going to replace the drone no questions asked. Big thumbs up from me to them. Thank you very much for the response and the help. Keep making great videos!
@@markpartain9429 That's awesome about EMAX sending you a new drone! Generally with smaller toy drones, they need to be set on a level surface for calibration, but it sounds like you did that. The flipping over part sounds like maybe one of the motors was not spinning properly. I have had that happen when a motor is failing, Anyway, hopefully the replacement will do better!
@@readysetdrone Thanks. I'm sure it will be fine. I already have the bug to buy more 1S batteries and the TinyHawk RTF. Gotta pace myself. Thanks again.
If the next one does the same thing make sure the battery is centered and check it after every crash. The batteries move easily. I was having a similar issue and centered the battery and re-calibrated the gyro and it worked fine after that. If you re-calibrate the gyro make sure it is on a level surface.
When you mentioned the tiny hawk you indicated two batteries. 1s snd 2s . Is there a difference in flying time or can you gang 2 batts for longer flight time?
Ok answer to ur question no there is not that much of a difference in flight time. The 2s just makes the motors more powerful and the controls crispier the 1s is less powerful but both have similar flight time
The only thing I can think to try is to go through all the channels, to see if you get an image from the drone. You can also contact Emax support. They are always very helpful.
I got one of these to teach friends and relatives to fly, but it ended up being kind of useless because it has a terrible drift back and to the left. I have adjusted the trims and tried calibrating it on a level surface, but I cannot get rid of the drift. I found other youtube comments mentioning this same problem. I can fly it in the intermediate or advanced modes because I am comfortable compensating for the drift, but it is really hard for inexperienced friends to constantly fight the drift. The beginner mode is totally worthless even for me because without the ability to roll to the right to compensate for the drift, the quad constantly flies back and to the left until it runs into something. Any ideas of how to take care of this problem?
i just got it today. And when i power it up inside my house it drifts to the left. (I am fully new to drones so i have no idea how to fix this) do you have any tips on what i can do? I also didnt touch any of the calibration buttons since i dont know how they work.
It sounds like the TinyHawk S would be a good upgrade from the EZ Pilot drone. If a person gets a TinyHawk S can it be bound to the EZ Pilot controller given most beginners don't have other controllers and on a budget? I understand the controller can only have one drone bound to it at a time - but the question is; can the TinyHawk be bound to the EZ Pilot controller? Otherwise, do you recommend an affordable controller?
