    Very Nice these tiny drones are so much fun and now with the new receiver things just got better. The new drones just keep on coming and so does the confusion for me. I do all the research I can get ready to purchase one and a Captain Drone video pops up 😁.

I wish it would have been a year ago would have saved me quite abit of money I’ve wasted on junk toy drones, but at least my drone hobby looks much better in the near future. Got one for study for flying in house. Very very durable. I bought many spare blades but after hours of flying I couldn't break them. Had to buy a 16:9 helmet. Tried to fly in 4:3 but it's very hard for me.
    With the 750ma battery I got the 10m++ flying time.
    In the FrSky version of uncomfortable antennas - the blades cut them and there are no protective tubes in the kit. Antenna open area should be 31.2mm - otherwise your receiver will not work far enough

    Wanted to let you know your battery for the insta flight was fully charged. What happened was it came in high like 4.37v and the FC actually thought it was a 2s battery, and that's why it showed 2.xxv below the 4.3xv, that was what the voltage would be for 2s. You can set the battery high mark in betaflight to 4.5v and it won't happen again. So that was actually a just fine full battery flight. Thanks for the video!

    • @CAPTAINDRONE798
      @CAPTAINDRONE798  3 роки тому +3

      Odd that the previous battery did not show the same.

    • @TuxedoFPV
      @TuxedoFPV 3 роки тому +4

      @@CAPTAINDRONE798 yeah it can happen from a very minute change in the battery charge level, so that when it first arms it checks the battery and that's what gets set.
      If you check in betaflight on the "Power & Battery" tab the "Maximum Cell Voltage" field, I bet yours is set to 4.4. Since these batteries normally charge to 4.35 if they happen to be overcharged a touch they could read as 4.4 and make it think it's a 2s battery.
      If you set that field to "4.5" this shouldn't happen again. And all this does is change the math for reading the battery, it's not going to draw more power or affect flight handling or anything. It's safe to do.

    That thing looks like it's fun to fly, will have to add it to my list. BTW, try dual lock for the camera on small drones like this. If your not familiar with it, dual lock is kind of the love child of velcro and double sided tape. It locks it in rock solid without all the slop you get with velcro, but it's reusable like velcro. Just dedicate one mount to it and you can use the dual lock with it on any quad you can't do a proper mounting on.
    BTW, how about a short vid on setting up the voice prompts in the T-lite? I just got one and I like how you have yours set up.

    First thing to do with dedicated ELRS receivers is updating and matching the passphrase to your Radio, so it binds automatically.

    With spi, you can only update it with a new betaflight version, afaik.

I'd love to have one of these though. Wow, that’s great. I have bought 2 drones in the past, but I just am not a good pilot. I will go as far as to say I am a lousy pilot. I completely wrecked the first one & gave the second to my nephew. The Firefly looks like a lot of fun, price is great, but I just do not think I have what it takes. All my RC’s have 4 wheels & stay on the ground…most of the time. I absolutely love building them, but I am not that good a driver either. Oh well, I enjoyed you video. No, but you can buy the READY TO FLY FPV KITS. I've done reviews on many from different companies and have several more coming up.

    Great video as always. Too bad Flywoo did not make prop guards for it, especially for flying indoors.

      I'm going to be designing some 3D-printable ones when mine arrives at the end of the month, ping me in February and I'll mail you a set anywhere in Canada or the US (assuming the motor screws are standard M2-size Phillips or hex so I can use longer ones).

    this thing gives me a whole new understanding of the stabilisation on things like the DJI drones. it literally won't stay still.

      FPV drones are part of the ADVANCED drone hobby. DJI drones are part of the BEGINNER drone hobby (hence the reason DJI drones are designed for anyone to fly straight out of the box with no experience). We all began in the FPV hobby with terrible pilot abilities... it will take six months of practice to get your skills up if you are a newbie. But then, wait until you see what those skills do to your DJI piloting drones... you'll find yourself turning many features off that are holding you back.

    I think what might help you land is a make shift magnetic pad made of some sort of lightweight material on the bottom of the drone.
    You could even make the landing area out of styrofoam and mount the magnet on it.
