Great video man! Enjoyed watching it get put together, hope to see you out there this year! 😎🤟🏼
Thank you hoping to be racing here soon!
Great video Lucky, looks like a great engine build , should make some power👍👍👍
Thank you, hoping for some low 6 sec passes in the eighth of a mile
Nice silver PPV caprice…… looks awesome on the s10
Nice parts guys...
Thank you!
Very nice job
Thank you… I appreciate the support!
That car is gonna haul the mail
Yeah can’t wait to get it in the car!
What’s up Lucky Racing
How’s it going
Did you machine the block too put aarp studs in?
Install checker springs and torque the heads down then put the regular springs back on and you dont have to grind the washer down then.
Ya your right!
I'm a pretty curious person so work with me here LOL. What compression you guys running, carb or EFI, solid or hyd., size cam?, rpm, I run a 10.7 to 1 399ci. little M on the street solid roller,17* heads etc, etc and i'll be curious to see i we are close at all.
About 10.5 to 1 Compression. I run a 1250 Dominator. Solid roller cam and we turn about 7500 rpms!
How did you handle the rod to cam clearance? Is your block araised cam unit? Is your cam small base circle?
It’s small based the block also is machined out in some places for the rod clearance
Anyone notice the 🖕 at 5:22? 😆 awesome video!
Question for ya. How would porting your heads add compression? Milling them down which makes the chamber smaller is about the only way to increase compression or having pistons that are either flat tops that come out slightly past the deck height or pop ups. Also you said you set lash at .025 cold wouldnt that increase the lash since aluminum expands more than steel when hot?
Yes your right about the milling, i said the wrong word when working. But the setting it at .025 cold the metal swells when it gets warmer so actually tightens the valve train
That's actually backwards you set cold lash tighter with your iron block and aluminum heads it will actually grow .006 when it's up to Temp. I do this to all of my dark small block with aluminum heads my cam calls for .020 hot so I set them at. 014 cold.. 770 lift solid roller
Where did you get your valve lashing tool and feeler gauge from? I need to purchase one for my setup.
I ordered that from Summit about 6-7 years ago
I heard Pink Floyd he’ll yeah
Hell Yeah🤟
Porting ups the compression eh?
I meant to say Milling up the compression
Heads are too small. Maybe 620HP at 7000rpm - despite you didnt share the cam details.
Good Ported 245 AFRs, with a good matched intake makes 670hp 7500rpm.
I dont install the studs first, too easy to scatch heads !
What’s the lsa on the camshaft and rocker arm ratio ?
I don’t quite understand what your asking.
@@mr.luckyracing7112 I’m asking about the lobe separation on that camshaft and also about what rocker arm ratio you’re running
@@kristjanstefansson2765 It’s a 0.475 Lobe intake, a 0.45 Lobe Exhaust. And the rocker arm ratio is 1.5
@@kristjanstefansson2765 If the LSA is not down 106 area he is leaving power on the table in my opinion
At that lift with 1.5 it’s def close to that. Runs real nice too. Nice build. Can you share duration at 50?
how mutch cost the engine ?
I believe all the parts came out to about $15-16k
What brand is the camshaft? The quality looks way better than comp cams
It’s an Erson Camshaft
Cam specs?
what would be the mpg of this engine on a monte carlo (1984)?
Not very much especially since we run 116, I don’t even know if i could give you a rough estimate
measured in smiles per mile :)
@@JimBronson Yes Sir!
Based on the 116 reply... the hole in your wallet is somewhere inbetween Steve Howe and Billy Idol sized on an average 80's weekend.
I'd be easier to guess potential HP by only telling me what heads with all the detailed specs and flow bench numbers, with nothing else.
Yeah, I believe out of this motor we are making close to 800 hp
@@mr.luckyracing7112 hard to guess without more info but I'd guess 629-694hp na all motor (really wide range but without knowing more about the cam, no porting, 10.5:1...)
Looks fun
@@mr.luckyracing7112 you absolutely are not making 800hp out of that
@@1000machz We had our old motor which was built the exact same just without milling the heads dinoed. Made 785 so just shy of 800.
@@1000machz ummm lmao have you been living under a rock? These 434’s can make upwards of 800 easy with 14.5 compression at 8rpm… shafiroff makes a engine that even makes a sb.2 434 making over 900 and yes it’s natural aspirated..
My friend building my 434 stroker i have ported Brodix Draggon slayers 240 cc 2.10 valves 330@700 cncd by chad spier
That’s gonna be a hell of a motor
What headers are u using size
@@mr.luckyracing7112 thank u
Chad knows his shit
@@stevenbelue5496 I hope so I got alot of money in these heads
Nice video but not a SBC when using a Dart block.
Yes it is… It is a 4.125 bored Sbc dart block
Lmao what? Are you dumb or just trolling?
untrue
Degree the cam no.
Nothing about the oil pump nope.
Installation of the bell drive nope.
Piston cylinder clarence nope.
It is an Ohio Crankshaft bottom end so all the specs about that our on their website. It’s a billet oil pump, It’s a Jessel Sbc belt drive kit. And am Erson Camshaft Speced for the heads we run.
He doesn't fully understand a lot of what he's talking about.... like uping the compression with porting the runners of the cylinder head lol and the reason for having to run offset rockers due to port location, valve size, head casting design or pushrod size, not to make it easy to adjust lash. He's a kid learning...
Lets not tell the cam specs or anything…..
Stud girdles are useless!
They do help the rocker arms last longer by putting the load across all of them and not putting stress on each individual rocker.
I love the 70’s porn music
The unofficial definition of disco: perverts hooked up with drug addicts, and disco was born!
But seriously... at least music was chosen [no I didn't miss the Floyd or Clash in background moments]. We could have been subjected to (c)rap - and we wouldn't have watched to the end of this magic, mathless, wrench-a-thon with nice shiny bits. Did you catch compression or cam details? I freakin missed it. I think it will turn out ok: if I had to roll the dice in bolting on heads without disassembly and inspection [and some light blending] AFR is the best candidate. So here's my dartboard guess (to stay on topic).......546hp [na]. And of course, that will be wrong.
Did I hear you say porting ups the compression ??????????????
He mighta porting, up the compression. as in ratio.
Not porting it’s called milling the head brings the compression ratio up a little
@@mr.luckyracing7112 NO shit I was referring to what the kid said lol
@@danstomber1664 We just used the wrong term in the video… I was just correcting it not trying to be a smart ass.
@@mr.luckyracing7112 Me either sunshine
intake might not seal
Why do you say that?
