  • The very different worlds of Douglas Murray, Professor Ongopotse JJ Tabane and Gareth Cliff come together for this conversation to find common ground on important matters like corruption, international credibility and leadership. The conversation also led to disagreement on some issues with overall respect for open dialogue and critical thinking we would all like to see more of.
Douglas Murray is the best-selling author of several seminal works about the seismic changes in European affairs and Western Civilization and an insightful speaker on many of the most controversial issues of the moment. He is a lightning-rod for the most important (and often divisive) matters of public interest, including Israel vs Gaza; trans rights in America; racial politics; free speech and international relations. Professor JJ Tabane (host of “Power to Truth” on eNCA) and Gareth Cliff (co-founder of CliffCentral and Podcast Party ) are both seasoned radio and television personalities known for their unapologetic commentary.
Podcast Party is an online content hub where open dialogue and critical thinking are encouraged - where great minds don’t all think alike. Subscribe to our UA-cam channel and follow on social media @PodcastPartySA

The "Professor" kept trying to make comparisons between hamas and white people during apartheid even though its obvious to a teenager that all white people did not have a religious and personal need to completely genocide and murder all black people (which hamas has towards jews) as the two are incomparable on a fundamental level, in general which shows a lack of depth, he paints with broad strokes that miss the nature of reality. Douglas handled him well, like talking to a child.

Zimbabwe is regarded as a total failure. However, it depends on your point of view. From the point of view of a true communist, Zimbabwe is an absolute success story, it's communist government having accomplished exactly what they intended to. A small elite, and masses of subservient people in abject poverty.
The ANC is succeeding quite well and as intended. It's as simple as that.

My perhaps very simplistic view: USA and NATO needed a bulwark or bastion against Russia (usual issue of power and control). So a war initiated, instigated by USA/NATO/WEST (US needs a war somewhere in the world to keep its economy afloat) between Ukraine and Russia - to conveniently blaming Russia. Which led me further to wonder what America would do if Russia should ever press on America's borders?

I wish you guys could summarise, based on all the political party interviews you have done, the following: what voters can expect to get by voting for each party (your opinion not the party's). Help people to see what they are voting for and to learn that they need to think that way.

The Bigger picture. Trouble is brewing ahead for Africa resulting from a careless attitude to planning & maintenance of their countries in general. .
The current population of Africa is 1,489,827,251 , 50% is under the age of 15., most are badly schooled and unemployable. The internet is available to all ,showcasing a prosperous developed world elsewhere & so many are naively anxious to have a share of it risking their lives crossing deserts & oceans to achieve that ideal. Where does South Africa as a more developed country stand regarding this little problem....

The corruption was most certainly NOT worse in the public healthcare system under apartheid, thank you very much!
The whole system was BUILT by the Nats and the public healthcare system worked very well - I know because several of my family members used it in those days...
I wouldn't go near it these days!

As an health care worker working in govt first since early 90s and later in both, the state health care system was far better in the non-white sections than it is in the multiracial system now. Before 94 there was nobody feeding at the trough of the health care budget like the last few decades. Essentially its all about screw the poor.

But obviously the Nats had to have an ok functioning healthcare system for blacks because they were the labour force. What stupid person would have a labour force that supports the economy and let them die because of bad health? That is economic suicide.

I think Douglas was rather drowned out by JJ and did not have a chance to express his thought clearly. The Douglas and Gareth piece that was published a few days ago is infinitely more informative and is a much better experience than this one.

    No discussion about BEE.
    No discussion about “brain drain”.
We are proud of reconciliation-half the nation has left South Africa because essentially there is racism.
Our educated youth has also left for more fair opportunities. Ie: selected for ability and not skin colour.
