This game's existence kind of bums me out because it looks so good but I no longer have anyone to play couch multiplayer games with. Back in the day, my friends and I played the heck out of the first 8 Mario Parties. After that, we became adults and the subsequent games didn't look as fun anyways. But this looks like an amazing return to form--I almost want to buy it just to play solo.
I am glad Nintedo is finally making good Mario Party games again,the only complain i have is that they remove characters like Diddy kong and Dry bones but other than that this game is awesome
I wish they went back to like (was it 6 or 7 when each character had exclusive special items?) my Guy Yoshi could EAT people's items thrown on the map and take them for himself!
One thing Nintendo should do, is add outfits you can unlock with a currency or challenges. Or events where the top 500 players of a certain mini game can collect limited edition Outfits or badges.
Super Mario Party doesn't feel like a mainline Mario Party. It feels like it is even more of a spin-off than 9 and 10. I find it strange that Jamboree is keeping that title while returning to the "true" Mario Party format. However, despite the strange title, it looks like Jamboree is shaping up to be the best Mario Party since the GameCube era.

Any new release or remake with Game Guy would probably have to include him in a majorly modified role or get raised to PEGI 18, though unmodified releases of old games seem unaffected (hence why MP3 isn't in Mature 18+ NSO)

But what about the economy? That is my biggest concern about the game and seeing two people with 40 coins on turn 2 at 2:17 does not ease my mind regarding that.
If you win 2 minigames and land on 2 blue spaces, that's 36 coins already, plus battle games exist, so that isn't that surprising, but everyone having 40 or so at turn 2, yeah.
The board is the shopping mall board. From what I understand, that board is one where gaining coins is a feature because it wants to create the buzz of a lively shopping mall. Essentially, it may be an outlier to consider at this time.
This also with the chance that the group might have gotten lucky with their mini game selection. It maybe was a bonus coin game where collected coins could be gathered.

This game has a high bar for me since MP Superstars was the MP game I waited years for brining back the best games and boards from the series that I grew up playing. I was surprised to even see this game announced and released so soon with the Switch on it's last legs but I guess I'll have to give it a look!

You can select to use no motion controls but doing this does eliminate certain mini games from the gameplay , so that part of it is disappointing. I don't like motion controls lol

Golden Pipes have been around for decades, from Mario Party 2 (in the form of the Magic Lamp) to Mario Party 7 (in the form of the Flutter Orb), DS and the Switch installments. I dont think they will remove them

One thing I dislike about the modern mario party games is the plastic-y art style. Everything just looks so shiny for no reason. Look at Daisy's hair or DK's fur, Daisy's hair especially. It looks like a lego piece. Or the rocks on Goomba Lagoon. Obviously a minor complaint, but one I'm surprised they haven't changed after three entries.
I never got the appeal of Mario Party games but I've become hooked after playing Mario Party Superstars. This is even better. I'll probably go back and play the older ones when I'm done with this. I'm having a blast.
Jamboree looks like such a stellar game that combines elements from the previous 2 games while improving on them. The new boards and retro boards alike look beautiful and promising. Especially Coconut Mall 2.0; Rainbow Galleria! I'll be sure to keep an eye on it. I just gotta ask, how hard was it for the developers to include at a board from Mario Party 3?
I just realized that in the mall they have a sign that looks like the point swap item from the Paper Mario TTYD remake (not the original one since that one had a green arrow instead of a yellow one)
Another comment said that there's 15 motion control minigames in the game, so you'd still nearly have 100 minigames ^^ which seems like a solid number imo
@@duttfisch But, the most common mini games in the main mode are the 4v4 ones, of which there are 29, and 7 are motion, so 22. Generally the average in past games seems to be around mid twenties, so it might be fine, but it also might feel lacking. Hopefully it's still good.
What are the online capabilities for playing Bowser’s Kaboom Squad and Kooplathon with your friends? Can you with your friends against randoms, or can you only queue with up to four friends against bots in both modes?
I think that up to 8 people can connect for both modes. This means that you can play Bowser Kaboom Squad with just your friends, but Koopathlon with 7 friends and 12 CPUs (or possibly 12 online randoms?)
Love this game, but their confusing menu decisions from Super Mario Party continue. Why must I go back to the first screen any time I want to change my character? I can easily change the CPU characters, so I don’t understand why I can’t change characters between rounds. Just skip that main plaza area and everything would be much better.

True it would’ve made more sense to even out the number of boards with maybe another remaster or just a new one.

There's also tons of love for the N64 boards with these last two games, I'd have loved to see any of the GCN boards make an appearance.
The game looks great I just don't like how they have modes working together like it's Mario party who wants to work together?

Yeah, there are like 15 motion mini games out of the 110 so that should be no problem
Apparently it supports pro controllers too, so if you're okay with losing the 15 motion minigames then it seems worth it ^^
