When I first read this entry I thought it was about Mara :)
Myelin Games I feel like it is - you probably have made a video on this, but there’s a lore tab somewhere that describes Mara destroying a pyramid ship, and her brother coming and F’in everything up. Mara always said she would try to defeat the Darkness - I genuinely feel like this line is referring to the Darkness brushing her off and claiming that they will claim her, she will finally bow.

This writing shows the brilliance of the bungie writing team. How come this brilliance can't be translated through the in-game dialogue??
Yeah, it's one thing to have really awesome written lore, but when the actual in-game dialogue is so bland and flat, it really shines light on the possibility that two different people/groups are working on those things.
@@RedShadowOfSaturn Yea. I think they might have someone that doesn't necessarily specialize in script writing doing the dialogue... because holy hell it's just bad. It has no depth or gravity at all, and every attempt at light hearted humor (outside of the Cayde-6 dialogue) is just pitiful.

A lore master sees the tyrant expressing a “hint” to the Titan he killed (sort of) but a truth teller will ponder that the Tyrant is more or less warning the titan to *never* interfere with his plan, else face his wrath
The last 3 entries in the Revelation lore book are actually pretty terrifying. Especially the last one. The Collapse must've been terrifying
I like The Last Days on Kraken Mare for that. It does a great job of showing both the Star Trek like nature of the Golden Age, and then the sheer chaos of the first stages of the Collapse in the outer system.
And then, they go and give us like an up close look at the horrific event in the Seventh Seraph Armor sets lore tabs. My God I was shooketh.

So the Titan equivalent of getting a 2x4 across the head is to get a Warsat dropped on their head. Literally.
This is where Bungie writing failed miserably. Titan punches anomaly, anomaly punches back. In any story resembling a modicum of realism, Titans would line up to punch it again. At the very least it becomes a traditional dare for Titanlings to punch the anomaly before they get initiated into the order, or something.

It could be a receiver for the travellers home. Since according to the Darkness, it shares it's original home with the Traveller. The poor researchers never suspected a hostile "roommate".
16:56 onwards is genuinely freaky. This is the most terrifying lore “book” for me. The scientist going crazy and getting posessed is frightening.

Not gonna lie, I got goosebumps near the end of the video with the woman slowly descending into madness. Possessed to write the words of evil incarnate itself before shortly making its presence known.
It's like the devil declaring you and your people dead through a slowly eroding, possessed vessel amongst your loved ones and then proceeding to make good on their word shortly afterwoods.. Bone chilling, ominous and haunting.
So the Darkness has no idea where the Traveler was, until it received communications with the K1 crew. Nice job, guys.
The question is, if Eris has the sphere, will it attempt to possess her in the same way?
May already have. Remember the cutscene where she touches the veil statue and her rock changes color?
@@mikethehunter5212 well not exactly chaning color. The rock is probably an Ahamkhara bone which has been proven to give information to Eris. When she touched it, the Darkness blocked the bone so that it couldnt communicate with Eris anymore.
@@Bladings The rock being an ahamkara bone is still theoretical. Even if so, the Darkness wouldn't silence it unless it had a reason.

I had a feeling that was the case when on the page it said "She". One charged with creation, her, while the other charged with salvation through extinction, him. Another layer of the lore uncovered.
I wonder if oryx was bound against his will to live by the sword, in the same way that the commander was.
i believe so, there is a lore video on why the hive live by the sword logic and it has to do with the worm gods i believe. definitely look more into it.

Fuckin Mass Effect. Now that I think about it the Darkness/Pyramid ships and the Reapers do share som similarities especially with how they’re introduced before their big arrival. Both sitting just outside our galaxy quickly making there way in to fuck everything up.
We often treat the traveler as if it were the Light itself, and the pyramids as though they were the darkness itself. I think they are both only channels to power. The traveller was probably made by some ancient race as a means of channelling the Light. I wonder if the "she" being referred to is the "Gardener".
The Traveler/Light is the Gardener. The Darkness is the Pyramids.
The Darkness itself refers to the Traveler as the Gardener, calling the Gardener a wandering refugee that chose to make a stand on Earth during the collapse.
The lore of Lumina also refers to the Traveler as the Gardener.
Distortion Reaper- exactly. The Traveler is a cosmic entity. Abound with what Destiny’s universe refers to as _paracasuality._ And transcending thermodynamics.
If the Pyramids that represent the Darkness are in fact 'ships', then is the Traveler also potentially a ship? Does the Gardener entity reside within the traveler, the same way, I assume, the Winnower resides within the main Pyramid ship?
As someone else replied. In one of the lore books the light is referred to as the gardener and the darkness is referred to as the winnower. One day the gardener "changed the rules". I belive this "change" was the light directly interfering with the plants it oversees(the plants are the life it creates), I think that's when the light became the traveler, to help out the plants directly. The darkness then became the pyramids in order to undo what the traveler was doing and continue to destroy the plants.
@@simonmandel2621 there is an old Concept cutscene of the destiny 1 Intro we're the 3 astronauts land on Mars and find the traveller.
In that Concept cutscene they encounter a woman on Mars who speaks of the Arrival of the Traveller
So i think bungie always intented the Traveller as an shell or Ship for some entity.

My guy you gonna gloss over the 2-3 entries where the scientists who meditated with site 2 frickin invented faster than light travel and the rest of golden age tech? The golden age tech came from talking with the darkness thats way weirder than the darkness saying "ima kill that ball i hate so much"
My question thus far though is this. If the anomalous black sphere was found in t he golden age, pre collapse and pre original pyramid arrival.... How did it get there?
The Traveller perhaps? I'm no expert on the lore despite my love for it, but I personally believe that we will learn more about the Traveller itself either before or during September with the new dlc. I obviously have zero evidence, was just a mere thought. But maybe our final confrontation to this war will be about realising we don't need the Light and Dark to control our destinies. Who knows!
Awesome thought. Perhaps like the Vex who are of a universally primordial nature, the Darkness has seeded all worlds with evidence of its existence. Or perhaps these things crop up where the Traveler takes refuge. Keeps an eye on it. I would love to learn mire about the traveler. It's inner workings, I always find myself staring at its exposed parts in the tower
Paracausality, maybe light goes with darkness, so as a rule wherever is light must be darkness, so the sphere could be the manifestation of that symmetry, as the traveler and the pyramids are paracasual beings, sometimes there's no need for a reason, it's just that way

Thank you for another awesome video, Myelin. I find your videos so calming and therapeutic to watch. You speak about Destiny's story in such a clear and interesting way, and the Destiny soundtrack you use in every one of your videos is iconic. I am definitely hyped about the arrival of the pyramid ships! I imagine it being something similar to Infinity War or End Game, where all the characters and stories that have been told so far merge. Mara, Calus, the Nine, Rasputin, Osiris, the Iron Lords... It's all coming together.

There has been this imagery of a woman, even from destiny concepts. A woman appearing on the moon with the 3 astronauts. I think the traveller is a Queen! running from her King/Ruler (Darkness). I think the queen also talks to individuals that are greatly connected to the darkness or it's cause, Eris Morn (taken) and Mara Sov (Awoken). They constantly reference the Queen. I think that they have direct communication and are working with the Queen. The theme also can work around the gardener and the winnower. Like Adam and Eve, they broke the rules of the game, id say the gardener (queen/light) is trying to escape the grips of the winnower (king/darkness) who wants the rules to work in his favour! I'd say ourselves and the hive are merely chees pieces to advance their causes!

Interesting thing about "gamma-ray bursts burning up a thousand garden worlds". There is an old concept of Pyramid Ships near unknown planet. These Pyramids are using rays beneath them. So, basically, Pyramids are using gamma-rays to dismantle worlds?

Quick question: In destiny the light and the darkness are given shapes, spheres for the light (motes of light, traveller) , triangular shapes (motes of dark, pyramid ships) for the darkness. Is there a reason why the anomaly is specifically a sphere rather than the triangular shape?
There’s an old storyboard that showed an early version of the first Destiny cinematic (the Mars one). At one moment, one of the astronauts starts following a woman, she ends up leading him and the fireteam to The Traveler, I think that’s the “She” mentioned in the book, the Gardener.

If there's some timey-wimey stuff happening here it's possible that this is also referring to Mara, but the timeline just doesn't add up. The reasoning behind the Mara idea is the whole "I bow to no one" ideology, as well as Sjur's vision of Mara facing down the ships in the Sleepless lore tab. However, the Pyramids likely were referring to the Gardener/Traveler, and the Traveler has been known referred to as female before by Rasputin and others.

Can you please go back and look at the drifter's accounts of meeting darkness creatures on a frozen world? I think that could easily have been the Veil on Europa, and it would be really nice to get a refresher on that story with new context.

I just watched your traveller creator vid. My theory is, it is the traveller taking. The darkness is Sophia the Demiurge aka the person who wants stole Sophia’s powers and is the traveller, is now getting desperate. And now he wants to... for the lack of a better word, “expand his reach.”
Since we've gotten The Witness as a physical representation for the Darkness, I'm thinking the "She" refers to is the woman from the concept intro scene (when we first investigated the Traveler on Mars)
She could be the physical representation for the Light now that the Gardener and Winnower are part of the Flower Game.
