My favorite Cambridge bible is one I can’t read for long stretches, the Pitt Minion.it’s the perfect size and feel for on the go. I wish they would make a reader’s edition without cross references. That way maybe the font could be a tad larger. Thank you for sharing Tim.
Thank you, Tim. I have a Cambridge Pitt Minion in KJV purchased in June 1963. It remains in excellent condition even having travelled most of the Pacific Ocean the year after I purchased it. It has the Morocco leather cover. Just a few months ago I purchased another Pitt Minion in NKJV with a split calf leather cover.
@@terryhartung4159 Yeah! I couldn't agree more. I have found it to be my favorite carry Bible. Thinlines, like the Pitt Minion, feel too thin to me and are actually (IMO) harder to hold than something a bit thicker like the Clarion.
Thanks - great video. The Concord is one of my favorites. I've got a small version leather binding, and a wide margin version, goatskin binding. I've got some other Cambridge Bibles, an REB leather, an enormous REB leather over board bright red, and a copy of the Norton leather bound black leather. Also I have a couple NIV Bibles from Cambridge. Oh and some Pit minions. Don't like the Pitt minion Bibles - too small for old eyes. I think I've got an addiction. My favorite changes too.
Cambridge ESV Topaz in black goatskin leather. Just purchased it a few weeks ago, and am loving it. Only wish it had three in stead of just two ribbons. I like to have a ribbon for the old testament, one for the psalms, and one for the New Testament.
I Ordered the Cambridge Diadem With apocrypha as soon as Evangelical Bible offered it, mine is in calfskin. It is not my favorite ESV, because I prefer the Schuyler method of putting references at the bottom because it is less distracting. However, I use this as a daily reader until evangelical Bible just introduced the Schuyler ESV with an and full Yapp. However, I’d much prefer this to my Pitt Minion Which has no apocrypha in it. Thanks for sharing your preferences!
I also love Cambridge Bibles, Tim. I have four Pitt Minions (NKJV, NIV, ESV, NLT), two KJV Cameos (one with the Apocrypha), one NASB Clarion, one KJV Concord, and one ESV Topaz. I would have guessed your favorite Cambridge would be a Cameo or Topaz. You surprised me!
Hope you and Becca are enjoying a blessed, much-needed vacation! I was a bit surprised that the Clarion wasn’t higher on your list because it ticks a lot of your boxes (mine as well! LOVE the single column and the Lexicon typeface!) But you’re right; it’s a little too much of a “chonk”, and the text bends far too much down the gutter with the edge-lining. A little taller and a little thinner (closer to the NLT Select in format), and it’d literally be my absolute favorite Bible!
My favorite Bible is the black goatskin red-letter NASB95 Pitt Minion. My second favorite is the black goatskin red-letter Pitt Minion in the other translations Cambridge publishes in the Pitt Minion line (NIV, KJV, NKJV, ESV and NLT (although I missed the NLT in goatskin)). What a nice matching set they make!
Forgive me if I've written this elsewhere here before - but a stunning outcome of my lens-replacement cataract surgery is that I can read my NASB95 Pitt Minion Bible easily and for long stretches, reading really intently. How cool! And my eyes are seventy years old, excepting the new lenses.
Really want one of the wide margins, but can't pick one. I do have the hardcover Niv. I have trouble springing for the leather Cambridges over the Harper/Zondervan premier leathers because of the colors.
My NASB Clarion is my favorite Bible, of all the premium Bibles that I own. That being said, I have one critique as well... I prefer when each book begins on its own page. That is the one layout change I would make. But the Clarion, for me, takes the cake.
I like big giant print Bibles. My newest Holman KJV Bible has a 16 point font. If I remember correctly it uses the Cambridge text. To me the large print is easier to read in return easier to comprehend. I can just keep flowing without having to stop to be able to correctly read a complicated long word.
I totally agree with the NCPB. I have a 2005 large edition and love it. Only wish Cambridge had shown it the love it deserves. It's crying out for art guilt edges and a goatskin cover instead of the French Morocco. Also I really like the Topaz
How do you rate goat skin against other leathers? I have a goat skin small edition of the cambridge bible and I really like the feel and handleing of the goat skin.
Love my French Morocco Leather KJV Pitt Minion. We all have different tastes. I haven’t bought bigger Cambridge KJV’s because I just don’t like HOLY BIBLE stamped on the front cover. I prefer a plain cover. Sounds petty doesn’t it?
The concord is almost perfect. My issue with it is the issue I have with a lot of premium bibles. I very much dislike seeing 2 books of the bible on the same page as if its just another chapter. Each book of the bible deserves to be seperated with respect to its individuality from the other books. Its a personal quirk of mine. I understand that its to make bibles less thick but how much thicker would it make the bible to seperate each book? My everyday use is not the same as what im carrying to church. If you need a bible for church why bring one with references unless youve prepared a lesson or a sermon. The NRSV reference is the only cambridge ive found that seperates the books properly. I have the one in brown cowhide and its my favorite bible right now. Im asking for the New Paragraph KJV for Christmas.
I was hoping that the NCPB would make the list, but I was losing hope until you said that the viewers probably wouldn't be able to guess your number one.
@@timwildsmith publisher not printer :) he was a hired printer. He printed a version of the Latin vulgate. But he was not a “Bible publisher”. Cambridge is the oldest Bible publisher.

My current favorite is the Pitt Minion. It has the coolest name and being able to read its nano-font unaided makes me feel truly blessed.😂
My favorite 5 Bibles:
1. ESV with Apocrypha Diadem Edition (Calfsplit)
2. ESVCE Cornerstone Edition (Cowhide)
3. ESV Wide Margin (Hardback) * been dreaming for that goatskin Wide Margin
4. Greek New Testament by Cambridge
5. CSB VBV
I love how people can have such different tastes. The size of the Clarion is my favorite part of that particular Bible. Wonderful video as always Tim.

Great list! For me, it’s the Cambridge Wide Margin Bible (Aquila) in any translations. My particular copy is ESV.
@@pastornickmcrae you need to get yourself a real Bible (KJV)
I really like the Turquoise!
Topaz is the best :)
Absolutely love the wide margin and the diadem. Great video
I only own 2 thus far. The Cameo with apocrypha in black leather and you number one and I love them both

ESV Topaz is great. Surprised it didn’t make the list. I’m picking single column, paragraph is your favorite so I guess it’s the opposite
My favorite Cambridge Bible is the ESV Aquila Wide Margin Reference Bible in black goatskin!

this was something I wasn't expecting, I thought the NRSV would've been your #1, its a beautiful one!!!

Waiting in my first Cambridge Bible now, the Clarion. Now, I have a question. What is a “Diadem?” I now have more research to do.
I heard from Cambridge and Topaz Tuesday is soon to return hopefully talking about the NASB 2020 Topaz..

My favourite Cambridge has to be the only one I have😂😂 Topaz reference large print in Black Calfskin! But I could be tempted………..!
Hey Tim, love your channel. Are they going to release a Cambridge bible of the NRSVupdatededition? Do you happen to know when? Thanks. 😊

David Norton removed the word "hewed" (Hosea 6:5) from the Bible. How's that sound in light of Rev. 22:18-19.
I have that same Concord, that’s the winner in my book!👍🏼 📖
How can you have a top 5 Cambridge bibles list without the Eagle in it at all!! The ESV wide margin Aquila is a classic
I've got a penguin books edition of the New Cambridge Paragraph Bible.
Thompson's chain reference first edition

Have you heard rumor of a Cambridge CSB release? I want it to happen so badly!
The NRSV Ludlow Bible is beautiful. I hope that the Pastor stays with it, forever. July 4, 2023. USA.

I like my Blue Turquoise.
Did the Cameo fight for that #2 spot??
Would anyone be able to recommend a bible similar to the New Cambridge? I love it but I just feel like the text is a wee small
Love my ESV Diadem!
I love brown Cambridge Bible. Wonder if i could buy it if i visit the Cambridge town directly here in the UK?
I have noticed you have never reviewed the Cambridge Cameo. Are you not a fan of the Cameo as a personal sized Bible?
I like it just fine... but not as much as these ones.
The Diadem would be my number one if I had a Cambridge and they already did it in the CSB
I guessed your favorite as soon as you said we probably wouldn’t. 😂✌️🤓
I've got a KJV with the Apocrypha Cameo in black calfskin, witch I love.

I have the Cambridge Concord, Black Letter, Black Goatskin and the same in the Wide Margin.
No Topaz??? Wow. Topaz is definitely #1 for me.
I was hoping that the NCPB would make the list, but I was losing hope until you said that the viewers probably wouldn't be able to guess your number one.
I guessed the Topaz I was way off lol
No Cameo, no Topaz, no Turquoise?
KJB PCE. Pure word of God.
Of the big three premium Bible publishers, Cambridge is my least favorite. They just don’t seem to have the quality that RL Allan and Schuyler have.
I think you're #2 should be the #1😅
