I have more than ten bibles but none of them is Allan or Schuyler. I have enough money to buy a Schuyler Quentel NIV text size 12, Milo font. But it's a pity I live in Ethiopia where we have no access to credit cards.
Your excitement and enthusiasm and passion is so tangible in this video. It's awesome to see you light up over something so incredibly GOOD! I enjoyed watching this as much as you're enjoying that new premium Bible 💖 I'm a first time reader of the Bible. I've fallen behind on my 1 year reading plan due to a break up and moving and just lots of stress (just like everyone else) but I've found a similar passion for the Bible and this video was everything my heart needed today! ❤
@@timwildsmith Hi Tim, thinking of getting the Mahogy one, but now you're pushing me towards the Camel one. Can I ask you a question, in the Marbled Mahogony Full Yapp KJV version, can you tell me if these 2 verses are spelled correctly: “of God” in 1 John 5:12, “godly” in 1 Tim. 1:4? Thank you so much, I prefer the original Cambridge text for obvious reasons.
That Bible is sooooo beautiful!!!! Please do a solo review. I have said that I was not going to buy another Bible, however Christmas is just around the corner and I deserve to buy myself an amazing Bible and I love the ESV translation❤️❤️❤️❤️
Would love to see the comparison video with the Allan SCR. I think I like that inside column reference better. The Allan is just so BIG! But I really have grown to love it. Thanks Tim!
Great video, Tim. I pre-ordered this exact Bible within minutes of it getting put on pre-order. Your videos inspired me to find my perfect Bible, which caused me to explore far and wide. When I learned from one of your other videos that Schuyler was releasing an ESV Stridon, I knew that was the Bible for me. The desert camel is beautiful and it’s amazing how a beautiful Bible inspires you to read it. Praise be to God for simple means of his grace, whereby he moves us to pursue him in something as simple as a piece of German calfskin. Blessings to you, Tim.
Watched your video. Loved it so much that I ordered the NLT Quentel in Desert Camel Calfskin. like you, it's my new favorite "color way". An absolutely elegant and harmonious combination and the calfskin gives it so much character. Thanks Tim!
I loved this reaction. It's pretty much exactly how I felt when I got my DC WM. I was so excited I immediately ran to the Schuyler groups and posted about it, lol. It's really hard to describe or show how special and unique the DC is, it has to be experienced in person to be fully appreciated, lol.
Estos videos te hacen desear correr a encerrarte a leer tu biblia favorita. En este momento la mía es la NBLA Azul de la Colección Premier. Felicidades Tim, realmente te vi emocionado 😊.
Idky but i absolutely love verse by verse. Maybe because its easy to find certain passages or just plain easier for me to read. Regardless, def a nice addition for schuyler. Beautiful color. That plum color is awesome. I still love that tuscany though. Thanks for always doing great reviews. Cant wait for your book too.
I’m just happy that you are as much of a Bible nerd as I am! :) and I’m probably gonna have to pick up one of those new ones in full Yap like you are talking about in this opening… I just got the Marbled Merlot in the PSQ ESV this past Thursday. Already love it!
I got one of those as a gift for someone else, it wasn't easy to let go of (and it was already stamped with her name). Compared to the same in desert camel, I don't know what wins.
These new designs from Schuyler are great, and this calfskin looks fantastic, even better in your video than on their website. The new Regalis Purple also looks good, and I see they're bringing back Sapphire Blue on the Quentel NLT. Schuyler's already great premium Bibles are getting even better.
i just ordered this same exact bible last night. it’s going to be for my teaching, journaling and studying. gorgeous! love your reviews and now i know i made the right choice.
Hey Tim.! Do you ever think you will do Bible “Word” studies on UA-cam as a side series? When I say “Word Studies” I mean in the concept of going into depth of one word from the Bible and seeing what it has to say? And what I mean by that is viewing it in Greek, Hebrew, Etc. Etc… and what it says in English? Or even just taking a word from the Bible and do a topic on what you love on what you found in the Bible scriptures with the Word that you choose? I would personally like to see what you find and like! It can be even like a 5-10min video and call it something like “Word of the Day!” Or “Word of the Week!”. Much love my brother in Christ Jesus! Amen! ❤
What's neat about the color of desert camel is that it looks like a rebind. Legit, if I saw someone carry that bible I would think custom rebind. Perhaps it's the pattern on the cover?
Pre-ordered this not long after the announcement, and in the EXACT SAME color scheme. Got it last Saturday. Even though I cannot do a deep dive into it for a while (currently reading the ESV; I'd like to complete that readthrough, AND go through a different translation first), right now that ESV Stridon in Desert Camel calfskin w/ full yapp ("To Train or Not To Train -- That is the Question.") -- my very first Schuyler -- is the Top Tier (at least in my growing Bible collection)!
The NLT perverts Acts 2:38 where we read, Peter replied, “Each of you MUST REPENT OF YOUR SINS and turn to God, and be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. Then you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. This is just one example of what these so called newer more modern translations and versions are doing with God’s Word! Here is the KJV version of Acts 2:38, Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. The original Greek word for repent in Acts 2:38 is Metanoi which means to change our minds as in going from unbelief to belief. If the word repent meant for a person to be remorseful as in repenting of sins, then the original Greek word used is wrong, because to be remorseful is the Greek word Metamelomai, which is not the word that is in Acts 2:38. The NLT is teaching a false works based manmade salvation that is in complete contradiction with the Gospel we read in 1 Corinthians 15:1-4 that says we are saved by believing on the Lord Jesus and His death, burial and resurrection for the forgiveness of our sins. I warn you of this because I at one time read from many different translations and versions of God’s Word including the NLT, and those translations of God’s word led me away from trusting in Christ to also placing an emphasis on my works, which actually have absolutely nothing to do with how I was saved and how I’m kept saved. If satan did not mess with God’s Word he would not be satan because he’s the father of lies. He was questioning God’s Word all the way back in the garden which is where mankind’s fall originated. Now he’s done the same thing with God’s Word by having all of these translations and versions that teach a false gospel. Paul warned us of this in Galatians 1:8-9.
Thanks for the review Tim! I received the Schuyler ESV Stridon in Black Pearl for Christmas. I have various premium Bibles, but this one takes premium to another level. I am very pleased with this Bible and look forward to many years of reading it.
I saw this video the other day and immediately ordered this leather on their esv study Bible. I have never gotten a Schuyler or an esv study Bible. So I am excited to have one! I told my husband to give it to me for Christmas 🎄 😂
Hey Pastor Tim, I had a feeling this video was going to be on the new Schuyler ESV Stridon! Thank you for making yet, another high quality unboxing of this beautiful Bible! I hope you can make a comparison video with the new Allan SCR! It's going to be a tough choice between both!
I was given a Schuyler Wide Margin Canterbury by my father for my deacon ordination. They make extremely beautiful, quality Bibles. I would love to see them make an NET in any of their text blocks.
I’d like to see a review of the desert camel. One thing I would like to see and no one usually talks about it is: if you hold it in one hand kicked back in a chair (holding bible at a slight angle) does it slide out of your hand easily? I won’t buy another marbled calf because it was basically slippery. I felt I was always fighting trying not to let it slip through my hand. This is very important to me. The Schuyler goatskins are much better for this, they give some “grip”. Is this one better than the marbled calf for that?
I have the same concerns you have with the slippery thing. It's something i always worry about. I have one of the DC in the WM, and in my opinion, it's less slippery than the other calfskin they have. It has a textured feel to it, which gives it more grip. This is just my personal experience/opinion though.
Funny, I bought the exact same colorway! Pictures/video really don’t do the desert camel justice, it’s such an incredible leather with really nice grain.
I enjoyed your videoof bibles you don't like 😅. I agree with you on those loud colors. This Desert Camel is so nice. I'm now curious how this compares to the Badalassi Carlo leather 🤔. Which do you prefer?
I’m definitely a TR/Recieved Text guy & a Verse by verse guy.. I love the single column as well, just wished it had 36gsm paper, but oh well.. I much prefer the KJV but do like the NKJV. I am so excited to pre-order this in October 24’ in the NKJV. Schuyler/EvangelicalBibles are going to love me, because I’m ordering 3-4 of them, one for me and gifts to my wife & daughter. Love the reviews Tim. I’m grabbing me the Desert Camel for myself
I like the margin space on that bible for sure. I still want to get a schuyler wide margin one day. I currently use a Cambridge wide margin which I love. I'm not sure how accessible the inside margins are on the schuyler because their bindings are very tight in the spine and it's very very thick so I'm thinking that the inside margins may not lay as flat as the Cambridge. Would love to hear anyone's experience with that.
Very disappointed to see this colorway already gone from the website. (But, as a previous Schuyler customer, I know how it goes. LOL) Man, I hope very much you're still as excited with it today as you were a month ago. I know I sure would be. Thanks for sharing and God Bless!
I saw the link but there isn’t a desert camel stridon … i only see in full yapp stridon the Tuscany calfskin, Siena calfskin, Black Pearl calfskin, and Prussian blue calfskin.
I would actually prefer to have a ESV wide margin (stridon) like Lockman did with the NASB2020. Cheaper with thicker paper. Not goatskin. I had a NASB 2020 WM and LOVED it! But I want it in ESV. The Schuyler looks nice but I want to use it. I want to write in it. I want to beat it up.
Tim, thank you for your enthusiastic Bible reviews! It would be great if you would include not only the font size of the Bible text, but also the font size of the cross references. I recently bought an inexpensive ESV Bible that had a text font I could read, but the cross references were in such a small font size that I would have to use a magnifying glass to read them. Clearly, I won't be getting much use from that Bible. I'll probably just give it away. Now that I am considering purchasing a Stridon or other premium Bible, I don't want to spend that kind of money only to have the Bible prove to be of little use to me. And, if you start including the font size of cross references, you'll likely be the ONLY reviewer to do so! One more question. Does Evangelical Bible have a return policy? Thanks again for your reviews, Tim. Please keep them coming.
Thanks to Beth at EvangelicalBibles I received this information about the text size of the cross references in the Stridon. She wrote, "The cross references in the Stridon are at or about 6 pt. font. Font sizes aren't standardized across typefaces, and some typefaces are thinner or thicker than others. You can print a page of the Stridon ESV from our pdf sample, seen here. If you print that at "actual size" (100%) and not "fit to page", you should end up with an accurate representation of the size of the text. Keep in mind that Jongbloed's print will be more crisp than the typical home or office printer."
I'd like this, but in a quentel NASB 2020. Which is not made. Where is the best place to get news on their new products or their plans for future editions?
I really like study bibles with not only red letter but indexed. Also interested in the CSB translation. I can’t find anywhere! Where do you suggest I go to get one with my requirements?
I know you don’t like the textblock of the Treveris. So how does this textblock compare? Understandably the Treveris is a readers Bible in single column and this is SCR. Is this better for readability with the wide columns? Please do a critical comparison.
i have a niv bible, looking into other translations for deep study what should i get? esv, nasb or what? but i want a premium bible so looking for recommendations
Tim, been trying to gauge the size of this Bible compared to other Schuylers. Based on the dimensions it seems it might be close to the NIV Quentel with the 36 GSM. That book is 20% larger than the NLT quentel.
how does someone not instantly smell the cover and the inside right out of the box? It's what separates us from the animals. (gorgeous bible brother!)

Tim, I think the comparison with the Allen is a great idea. Blessings.
I'd love to see Schuyler produce a Stridon edition using the NLT.
The NLT perverts Acts 2:38 where we read,

I have arrived. 😉
I know you don’t like the textblock of the Treveris. So how does this textblock compare? Understandably the Treveris is a readers Bible in single column and this is SCR. Is this better for readability with the wide columns? Please do a critical comparison.

Can you do an review of the NIV, NKJV, NLT, The Message, (Contemporary Comparative) Parallel Bible?
Thanks
Man, it seems like everyone is getting their pre-order yet mine hasn't even been shipped yet..
Does the Stridon include any kind of notation to signify when a new paragraph begins? i.e. pilcrow, bolded verse number...
I want that color but not in FULL YAPP because I do not like full yapp
That IS a beautiful Bible.
The color is very, very different than what us pictured on Schuyler’s website.
I thought the same… website looks to have more tones of grayish brown than his. His looks like a brighter brown.
Tim, been trying to gauge the size of this Bible compared to other Schuylers. Based on the dimensions it seems it might be close to the NIV Quentel with the 36 GSM. That book is 20% larger than the NLT quentel.
That sounds about right!
Just checked, and my old 36 GSM ESV Quentel is thicker than the 28 GSM ESV Stridon.
Thank you for checking that.
