Nice work mate i love the dragways wheels you got, i had a VK commodore the glass had the same clips & i put large crack in one they also have the same plastic adjusters !!
Love love love your videos mate, I’m at the exact same stage as you right now.. so please please please take your time in your videos and continue to show me how to do it😂.. Im not a car man far from it so again please continue to show the process. I’ve gone from 202 to 308 and about to tackle the wiring so if you can please show where everything goes .. ps thanks for showing brands and sizes of parts . Really helps ..cheers Brent Kline (Qld)
Your welcome mate, glad to hear the vids have been some help! Even though it looks close there is still plenty more to come but they will come faster now!
Awesome job Barnesy, loved the effort that you put into those headlghts! Sometimes its just easier to do it yourself. She is looking great now the engine and trans are in. Keep up the great work. You have come so far and cant wait to see the finish. Another great episode
G'day mate, iv restored a HZ premier, fitted a VT roller cam 304 with carby manifold etc amd turbo 700r, i found i needed to fit everything on firewall first, i have the same extractors, with factory AC and PS... and extractors clears everything. I had to run rubber hose for the auto oil cooler, easier to clear the extractors, i used a rod shop auto crossmember, plenty more to tell about my experience and photos of the finished engine bay? if you are interested, not on here😁
Hey mate, yeah nice sounds good, keen to see the engine bay setup etc can can get me at sales@kyper.com.au and would be good to see some pictures and some more info etc. Thanks
@@BarnesysBuilds Forgot to mention the converter cover, i modified mine. couldn't buy one at all, 308 have the starter motor on the LHS , cheve have it on the RHS, i have photos of the modification
Hey Barnsy i am restoring my wb lights at the moment and after paying lots to get them recromed I have since been told that the earlier commodore ones are the same .keep going been following from the start well done
Looking amazing mate , crow that you’ve almost finished her I will start mine 😁thanks for all the tips helps me plan my build , hopefully I’ll be done before 5 years 😀
Thanks mate, your welcome, hopefully you saved up during the 5 years so you can have a fast run at it! That's the biggest hurdle I reckon. Thanks for the advice along the way as well.
Awesome mate. Big box ticked! Enjoy watching all your Epps! Been following along for a while. Life gets busy but just chipping away makes a difference especially with the small items. I’m in the same position with my build, looking forward to seeing it on the road soon!
Nah, I was a kid and just loved to drop in (on my bike) and check out the showroom. When you were showing the lights, bought back memories from back then. The old man had just picked up a Kingswood sw from them.
@@BarnesysBuilds just make sure you check the CFM flow of the fans mate, most of these OEM AU, FG, etc falcon ones are actually really good but cheapo ones aren't. Also make sure the connectors are water proof, like using weatherpack connectors, etc. OEM ones should be anyway!
Awesome mate, and so cool to have your old man involved👍🏻 I did exactly the same ground up rebuild of my HQ Monaro with my old man…..unfortunately he passed last December but so grateful to do the build with him……doesn’t matter how long the journey is mate it’s the fun and ups and downs along the way…..big fan of your channel well done👌
Loving your work mate, it’s been a long load but she’s looking good with the motor finally in, look forward to hearing it running, good luck with the rest of the build
Hyqual in Queensland can re vacuum metallise the chroming on the reflectors for those looking for an option where aftermarket replacements aren't available.
save your money mate get the extractors ceramic coated i have been through all the heat proof painting of extractors tried them all even the kbs stuff they all just flaked off had them in and out 4 times did them twice with kbs after the first time they flaked they said i should have had them sand blasted so took them out again bought more paint had them sand blasted made no difference still fell off . i ended up getting mine ceramic coated in ceramic chrome they look great look a bit like stainless but dont diss colour like stainless extractors after all the time and effort and waste of money in paints and sand blasting trying to paint them i should have just got them ceramic coated in the first place you wont regret it
You need to bake the paint on when painting to get the bond, so usually they need to go in an oven after painting. I am getting them blasted and painted and baked this week so see how it goes.
@@GRIFF351 not hot enough it needs to be 160 degrees minimum I think. That bakes it in then it can smoke off a little when you start it up and then should be right. A bloke is painting mine who said he did it with Harley exhausts all the time with no issues. So we will see, it won't be as good as proper ceramic coating but pretty close.
@@GRIFF351 yeah mate gotta be way hotter than 60 degrees. My old man does exhausts and even for painting brake drums with a coat of heat proof he had the oxy out warming them up first.
Wait they drilled a hole in every extractor pipe?? Mate, they should've had their own set of extractors for dyno runs not just use yours like that. Is what it is now I suppose but still, welding up a brand new set is unnecessary. Ute's coming along great though, best Aussie resto content on here imo, showing basically everything you're doing is awesome to see
Good job on the headlights mate At first I thought you that you were going to butcher them. Extractors won't fit around that tranny cross member as it's not a turbo 350 cross member ,someone has just welded a plate on a Traumatic cross member that's also why your gear box mount wouldn't bolt up.
Yeah thanks, took a risk and it paid off with the headlight. Dam I knew the cross member looked a bit bodgey, I will order one of the rod shop then and sort that out. Thanks
Farm porn…. Hoorah!!! Nice to know you’re busy between videos. Also noticed the teasing… no “let’s get into it”. But plenty of variants Crackin pace now, not sure what you’ll be building next, but I look forward to it
Thanks mate, yes so someone else said, I thought it looked a little home made, I will order one from rod shop I think with the bigger clearance. Thanks
Nice work Barnesy. The motor in my HZ sedan is really similar to yours. Solid cam 238/244 Great combo I highly recommend a further dyno tune once it’s all in, and basic return line if running an electric fuel pump. Chassis dyno tune aren’t expensive and sorted a lot out for mine, even though it was engine dyno’d too. Everything changes with weight of car, transmission and diff behind motor. Anyway all the best 👍 HZ Premier 355 ua-cam.com/video/8zcuyEslhS0/v-deo.html

For thermofans, have a look at Falcon Ef/EL or Au fans.
Will check it out, although there seem to be quite a few options out there new that are quite affordable. Not sure of quality at this point though.
