    450hp in an older car hq through to WB is violent. They always feel faster. As you can feel the road way more compared to been in a VE vf commodore.

    Heaps good mate, your in good hands with Tony in Radelaide.. Hit Adam up at ATS up in the daygo for your T350. He's the man. Met him 15 years ago at spring nats, both Tony and Adam know their Aussie manufactured gear. Long live the iron lions! Love the vids, 2 relationships later.. It was meant to be. Can't wait to see you buy a monaro shell and apply everything you've learnt.

    Those redline manifolds are good mate. Have used them on a few 355 builds with no issues but they do like a 2" spacer on top which helps throttle response plus you'll get a few more hp

    • @BarnesysBuilds
      @BarnesysBuilds  2 роки тому

      Thanks mate, I think Tony mentioned it would like a 2 inch spacer and would still get it under the bonnet with the thin air filter.

    Burkos transmission’s in Shepparton, he rebuilt my turbo 400 with shift kit and a big stall converter, it was 15 years ago now and it’s still going strong, when I lived in Victoria he was known as the only guy you’d get to build a gearbox in the area, and before I commented I checked if he was still going and he is, have a google of him

    Been watching since the start, great to see it all coming together!
    Just a suggestion, you may want to spray the dash flat black as the reflection of the sun on the windscreen will be horrendious!

    • @BarnesysBuilds
      @BarnesysBuilds  2 роки тому

      Thanks mate, yeah I debated about that for a while but laziness got the better of me in the end and I decided I couldn't be bothered taping up and buying some matt black so I decided I will just put a dash carpet on top to stop the glare. Or if I change my mind before the windscreen goes in do a quick sand and Matt black. Cheers

    Tony is quite well known in the scene mate so there's not many (if any) better that you could have went to and got advice from.
    His advice is basically gospel regarding the flat tappet cam run in, unfortunately it's an inherent shit part of old tech flat tappet cams (roller conversion would have set you back an extra 2k at least) but his point is so right about how everything else all needs to work and fire the first time so you can bed it in for 20mons or so .. I'll be going through the same dilemma myself in a few weeks, mines EFI so hopefully no issues .. but yeah you made the right choice again letting them complete the process

    • @BarnesysBuilds
      @BarnesysBuilds  2 роки тому

      Thanks Geoff, yeah initially I was going to go a roller conversion but went with Tony's advice in the end but yeah wasn't wanting to adjust rocker backlash yearly but so be it!

    looking good mate, I agree, pay the 1500 and drop the motor in running , no brainer.
    turbo 350 gearbox, you should be able to walk in drop of and pick up an exchange same day built with stage 2 shift kit in Melbourne, I know I can here in Brisbane. for around 2k I think, could be wrong with the prices of things now days.

    Hey Barnesy what type setup are you going to feed the carby? What fuel pump are you going to use? Can you use an electric fuel pump with the original tank?

    • @BarnesysBuilds
      @BarnesysBuilds  Рік тому

      Yeah I've been trying to work that out actually. Think I will run an electric Aeroflow external push pump outside the old tank and just run it on the chassis rail. I might try out the old fuel line and just swap it to a flexible braided line in the engine bay. If that doesn't give enough flow I will have to run a new 1/2 inch line the whole way. Should've done it when the body was off but that's what you get when you don't know what your fucking doing!😂
