Just tried these settings with the CSL DD 8nm... not good lol. The wheel feels extremely loose and shakes violently when going over curbs. Every wheel is different, so it's going to be difficult to find the right settings for everyone.
The moment you said u were using a Moza R9 my heart skipped 2 beats out of pure happiness because I happen to own the exact same wheel!!! I'll start playing on normal release, upcoming Tuesday and watched so many streams/video's where the driving on a wheel looked absolutely HOREENDOUS and the people playing had no idea whatsoever that it was off but I could tell just by looking at it. You have no idea how exited I am to try these settings on day one upcoming Tuesday!!!!!

I get the "jutter' now in the M4 '21. pithouse is maxed out. but what about 'wheel friction', I figure on using it.. also, Q: where is the MX5? Wow! I put ntrl-inrt and whl-frctn to half and no more deadzne. yay! Double Wow! now ntrl-inrt is max. whl-frctn adds weight/dampen (10%) soo far. Ok! '16 MX-5 for 45k lol.

The vibration setting is a canned effect and is not meant for dd wheels. Center sprig should also be off or very low as it forces the wheel to center, also canned

I had to tell FM my Gpro was a G923 but with a bit of fiddling with the settings the Trueforce feels great .it's different from gt7 but just as good in it's own way .Cheers for making me aware of how good the game is ,i'm really enjoying my racing again.
Dude, you should check your Miata's steering wheel hydraulics. 200 strength is too much, even for my Fanatec Clubsport 2'5 base. In my case, "zero" for steering self-alignment makes the car feel like the steering wheel was turned off. I increased it to 40 and lowered the center spring scale to "zero". And, for the road feel scale, I set it to 20 (this way I can feel curbs, etc). Now it does feel great. Thx!
I had the same thing happen with my dd2. Both mclaren wheel and formula v2 felt like there was no force feedback. The steering was so floaty with no stiffness at all. I thought it was broken or needed an update until I started messing about with the one setting he insisted shouldn't be a thing...the steering self allighnment. The other settings worked OK for me. Just that one that nearly broke the game for me. I had almost written it off and going back to starfield and gt7.
Central spring scale should be 0 or super low, unless you play on wheel whithout normal ffb. Just sit in real car and turn the wheel, it won't move to the center by itself when the car dorsn't move.
Just had to restart my computer and the settings for my R12 are great but I’m getting absolutely no modulation on my crp2 pedals. This is my first rig and I’m having trouble getting everything setup with so many different sims.
This is by far the best settings i found, wow i was so close on giving up on Forza, please share your pithouse settings on your R9, i got R12 so should be close.

I'm feeling the spring inside the wheel lose near its center. I feel it bouncing sideways while I'm holding it straight still, the spring starts going left and right like a pendulum. It is more noticable driving the fastest cars in game. It's been terrible. I have a G27
@@Kireth so far so good these have been the best settings I’ve tried yet. I did have to turn wheel sensitivity up to 80 it just felt right for my set up personally.

I haven’t played a racing game since Forza 4… I finally bought my self a really good setup for racing, found out this was coming out, played lastnight and damn this game is bomb! So much effing fun! Love the spec style of online racing so far. Very equal. I played respectfully… some others did not, that is my only gripe

As soon as i touch the break even slightly, without turning the wheel at all the car starts spinning off the track :/ This definitely isn't realistic, I drove an Evora in real life the other week and gave it a real go, for some reason its like the the road surface is like ice on FM when using a wheel, actually so much easier using a controller... I can 100% see what they are trying to replicate and if you understand it as signalling you are exceeding the tyre grip you can find the limit easier 🙌🙌

Do you know how to fix the traction control on the wheel? Full throttle on the controller, no wheel spin, full throttle on the wheel, lots of wheel spin.
Although its a shame the Default settings aren't more playable. At the end of the day. if you can make it feel good after some tweaking thats good news. most people who own wheels are usually used to having to fiddle with settings for some reason anyway. and videos like this help. I just want to jump into it when it comes out, so ill just use your settings. because even if they aren't perfect for me i can just use yours as a more Drive-able base to set up my own.
@@1MantisPhoenix they forgot to actually release most of the game and it crashes every 2 seconds so.i dont bother playing it. Pretty big joke of a release. Less content than forza motorsport 5 had. How that is acceptable is beyond me.
I am not sure what went wrong but these settings gave me almost 0 FFB on my DD1. I had to go back to another youtubers settings as that does provide the ffb. Again, not sure how, but maybe you're racing without it? lol g
In some wheels there's also an issue ,where if feels like the FFB snaps as soon as you turn the wheel. Switch Invert FFB option from where you have it and it should solve it. Happened on my TM T-GT2, turn the wheel 5-10* and it felt like i was side swiped by a car
Well, that's what mechanical and pneumatic trail are for. You NEED to feel oversteer through the wheel, and you feel understeer through "leaning" on to the grip (against FFB) and feeling it "give in" - your settings instead give a fake impression by the fake rumble coming from the canned vibration setting - which I would turn off entirely. If it works for you, fine. But sorry, for me these are pretty objectively the worst settings I have tried yet. There's basically no information of what's actually going on with the care, just for some rumble effects and some needlesly heavy centering spring, which in return kills all the ACTUAL crucial information.
@@Kireth it's actually pretty hard to describe, as it's more a intuitive thing. But I'll try. With a "correctly" (in my opinion) FFB, say you maneuver a RWD car out of a right hand turn. In doing so, you obviously turn the wheel to the right. In the clockwise movement of your wheel, you should work against FFB, which in this case ideally signals you grip from the front tires, so basically you feel (the lack of) understeer from the pressure working against you turning the wheel to the right. Oversteer you can "feel" once you open up the wheel again while accelerating out of the corner. This opening up should feel somewhat "neutral" against the force you were leaning against before, when NOT over steering. Once you start to oversteer, the wheel will quickly feel light in the counter clockwise direction, if you would let it loose now it would spin ccw by itself. There's your oversteer FFB. It's probably more nuanced, and it is really hard to describe, especially since both forces I tried to outline in my example are basically both time just the motor "turning ccw", yet once it's understeer, once oversteer. But that's kind of the point in my initial criticism: our motors can only do two things: turn left or turn right, in somewhat smart ways guided by the FFB algorithm. So damping those two forces by constant, non responsive settings like fixed center spring or canned rumble effects, you take away forces that could be used to deliver sensitive, adaptive informations like I tried to explain here.
Hello , i have a thrustmaster t150.. I just bought forza for the first time (forza motorsport) It worked very well at the beginning , it was pretty close to perfect.. but after few career races i would try online , but my wheels in game where going left right left right etc… I delete the game and instal again but now my steering wheel is not detactable anymore .. Ive tried some things from youtube but it didnt work.. Somebody had also this problems ?? Thxxx
I have to reduce wheel damping scale on my tsxw to reduce judder but he's got it all the way off already so i don't trust these settings I'm sorry. Having 200 on ffb strength is just so much extra. And most sims say to drop center spring off near 0 not increase it like here 👎
@@Kireth it’s all the way. I have a podium f1 dd1 but only qr2 I have is on my PlayStation rim, I’m gonna undo the qr and put it on my Xbox rim so I can give this a go with the dd1 and try ur settings there. On console sometimes the belt wheels work better, but I guess not in this case
Just tried these settings with the Thrustmaster T300 and unfortunately they don’t work well! The judder effect is way too pronounced and turning the Road Feel Scale to 0 gives no feel in the centre, even with Centre Spring Scale turned up to 150. IMHO the Road Feel Scale needs to be at least 130 on the T300.
So far your settings the best at least I can somewhat control the car , I keep having an issue with the car swaying left and right , I am using a TMX racing wheel .
Another issue I am having is Its stuck at aa 270 degree rotation , even if I have my setting on the actual wheel to 900 once I play Forza I am only getting 270 , and there is no option in the game to change this .
You have normal steering on. It should be simulation or else you play with the input filters for controllers. These settings are to overcome that critical option you forgot to change. This isn't going to work for most people.
Anybody have anything for the Logitech g920? I feel like forza just doesn’t put out enough. Barely feel curbs and stuff I can out my FFB to max and it’s still so light
Check the in game telemetry and make sure you are not clipping. High settings can lead to the wheel torque maxing out, meaning you will feel nothing else at all when it does this.
@@Jonusbiker No problem. Glad it helped you. A G920 is a pretty low torque wheel, so you not likely to be able to get a strong FFB without clipping a lot.

They got someone to eat a whole box of laxatives and got him to aim his shltter at a blank Y/X graph. Transcribed the speckled inputs on the graph in to computer code and voila. Force feedback settings 👌🏻
These don’t work at all on the XBox with the Logitech G Pro wheel. There’s basically no resistance to turning the whee. I thought everything was just switched off. The juddering through cornering is out of control high though.

I think you interchanged "Self-Align" and "Center Spring". Self-align is the correcting force of the wheel coming from the tires. Making the car going straight again by itself when it is moving. Therefore, should be reasonable high. Center Spring is the aktive centering force of the wheel, independent of movement (like the auto centering of a joystick). This should be (close to) zero (like a car on a lift, wheel stays wherever you turn it).
I played forza on xbox for the past year on the logitech pro wheel and pedals i now have a pc and the wheel just runs horrible on the game anyone have setting recommendations? I also tried the wheel out on WRC and everything works as it should its just forza

I've been posting saying since day one of GT7 that the game needs more options to customize the FFB, even if its not so bad, it is still far behind many racing games and I think that it could be much improved, iv only we had the possibility to do it...good to see that forza gives you the chance so play with so many settings
I actually had to stop playing gt7 for a bit because the ffb was so bland and boring. Luckily they made it better a few patches ago. Why they don't have more settings for it is mind boggling. Only thing that brings me back to gt7 every few months or so is vr. I play mainly single player and the "single player" content is non existent once you get gold on all the trails and track experiences. Think the worst part for me is the ai. It's completely atrocious and I don't even feel like I'm racing. Wish they could implement sophy
In my opinion, when it comes to GT7 and wheel settings, I set them once almost 10 months ago and it's great, I don't see any reason to change anything, I don't need any more setting options.
@@vibovit9851 I can keep the same settings using GT cars, but the problem is that if you use a street car you don't get enough informations from the wheel using the same settings... It's ok to feel the difference, but in my opinion the ffb doesn't scale correctly. In addition to that I miss a lot of details that I feel with other sims, like many curbs that you are supposed to feel. So probably there is too much dampening that I would like to turn down but I can't... ironically the ffb was better in gt6 for ps3

I didnt have any issues with defualt settings on my Simagic Alpa Mini Direct Drive. The only thing I had to do was turn down the ffb to 50% and invert The ffb using fm5 Presets. So I'm guessing everyones settings will differ froM what wheel base they are using.
Yeah, center spring scale does almost nothing, at least on a non DD wheel. Steering self alignment is the combination of pneumatic and mechanical trail, so at 0 there is 0 torque steer. Center spring scale is supposed to center the wheel without outside influence, but when you check telemetry it falls off a cliff when turning, and at least on my wheeel doesn't even center it letting, but just slighty moves towards the center before stopping. If you want a smoother FFB experience, use more mechanical trail over pneumatic. Pneumatic is useful for the feeling of traction loss, especially on understeer, but the drop off in alignment makes feeling the car impossible by itself. And then when you are losing tractio and regaining at the edge, pnuematic goes crazy on the FFB.
@@Kireth Hard to do. Mechanical is strictly the alignment of the car. So it provides rear end feel, as the FFB ramps and then goes steady at peak traction and over. It is also smooth with no other detail, but you could play then game effectively with mechanical alone. Pneumatic ramps the alignment until peak traction and then drops of as the tires start slipping. So once traction is lost, there is no feel, and at the edge of traction is goes down and back up as the tires lose and gain traction. This makes FFB very erratic by itself, but is good detail to supplement mechanical as the main driver of steering alignment. Hope that helps.
@@Kireth Also you need Steering alignment scale as it is a combination of mechancial and pneumatic. Without it, neither has an effect at all. You can use that to adjust the two togwether independant of other FFB settings.

Just tried your setup on my tm tx458 Italia edition and it felt pretty good, had to make the wheel feel a bit heavier for my liking, but overall decent starting point, thank you. 👊🏁
@@mikebos5072 I ended up trying a different setup from another YT video and then tweaked it a bit, currently have wheel apart as having ffb issues, upgrading the fan and ventilation, I will send you my settings a few days as been messing around with them trying to sort wheel out.
what you say is complete BOLLOCKS at least when it comes to sriving on a g920. and also the description on the settings is all messed up and opposite. at least on xbox
I have the g920.. Let's be honest it's a toy racing wheel.. Full of clattering cogs. The g920 (xbox) G29 (PlayStation) are for console players the wheel is just a fun gimmick.. PC has real sim games & real wheel.
I have a g920 and the wheel and feel is great on Asseto Corse. Was hoping this version of Forza could get me there. Going to keep looking for tips, I'm not a heavy gamer but love driving sims/games
I have the g923 and can say they need different tuning than other wheels on every game. They’re starter sim wheels so they’re not going to be as fast or good as the big money ones. Just tweak till you find the sweet spot

I found the return to center wasn't strong enough on default, compared to real life
what does canned effect mean?
@@justinburley8659 canned is when the effect isn't coming from the physics. Instead the developers added it for weaker wheels like the g920

Guys... if you have to run a direct drive wheel at 200 then surely there is a fundermental problem with your setup!

Running a CL_DD here and these settings are way to light, there seems to be zero resistance in the steering.
Same here. The feeling was so light that it felt like the wheel was powered down. CSL DD with GT3.
CSL DD has less nm than my Moza - this might be why I'm able to lower some settings

Hmm i just cant get my settings right for a g920. As soon as i touch the break even slightly, without turning the wheel at all the car starts spinning off the track :/ This definitely isn't realistic, I drove an Evora in real life the other week and gave it a real go, for some reason its like the the road surface is like ice on FM when using a wheel, actually so much easier using a controller... AND in real life :D Any idea's?

Do you know how to fix the traction control on the wheel? Full throttle on the controller, no wheel spin, full throttle on the wheel, lots of wheel spin.

I am not sure what went wrong but these settings gave me almost 0 FFB on my DD1. I had to go back to another youtubers settings as that does provide the ffb. Again, not sure how, but maybe you're racing without it? lol g

In some wheels there's also an issue ,where if feels like the FFB snaps as soon as you turn the wheel. Switch Invert FFB option from where you have it and it should solve it. Happened on my TM T-GT2, turn the wheel 5-10* and it felt like i was side swiped by a car

You can feel understeer more than oversteer, but yes (it's hard to feel oversteer in any sim as in real life you feel it through your butt)
Well, that's what mechanical and pneumatic trail are for. You NEED to feel oversteer through the wheel, and you feel understeer through "leaning" on to the grip (against FFB) and feeling it "give in" - your settings instead give a fake impression by the fake rumble coming from the canned vibration setting - which I would turn off entirely.
If it works for you, fine. But sorry, for me these are pretty objectively the worst settings I have tried yet. There's basically no information of what's actually going on with the care, just for some rumble effects and some needlesly heavy centering spring, which in return kills all the ACTUAL crucial information.

@@Kireth it's actually pretty hard to describe, as it's more a intuitive thing. But I'll try.
With a "correctly" (in my opinion) FFB, say you maneuver a RWD car out of a right hand turn. In doing so, you obviously turn the wheel to the right. In the clockwise movement of your wheel, you should work against FFB, which in this case ideally signals you grip from the front tires, so basically you feel (the lack of) understeer from the pressure working against you turning the wheel to the right.
Oversteer you can "feel" once you open up the wheel again while accelerating out of the corner. This opening up should feel somewhat "neutral" against the force you were leaning against before, when NOT over steering. Once you start to oversteer, the wheel will quickly feel light in the counter clockwise direction, if you would let it loose now it would spin ccw by itself. There's your oversteer FFB.
It's probably more nuanced, and it is really hard to describe, especially since both forces I tried to outline in my example are basically both time just the motor "turning ccw", yet once it's understeer, once oversteer. But that's kind of the point in my initial criticism: our motors can only do two things: turn left or turn right, in somewhat smart ways guided by the FFB algorithm. So damping those two forces by constant, non responsive settings like fixed center spring or canned rumble effects, you take away forces that could be used to deliver sensitive, adaptive informations like I tried to explain here.

I just bought forza for the first time (forza motorsport)
It worked very well at the beginning , it was pretty close to perfect.. but after few career races i would try online , but my wheels in game where going left right left right etc…
I delete the game and instal again but now my steering wheel is not detactable anymore ..
Ive tried some things from youtube but it didnt work..

I keep the center spring on as well. It does feel more realistic

I have to reduce wheel damping scale on my tsxw to reduce judder but he's got it all the way off already so i don't trust these settings I'm sorry. Having 200 on ffb strength is just so much extra. And most sims say to drop center spring off near 0 not increase it like here 👎

@@Kireth it’s all the way. I have a podium f1 dd1 but only qr2 I have is on my PlayStation rim, I’m gonna undo the qr and put it on my Xbox rim so I can give this a go with the dd1 and try ur settings there. On console sometimes the belt wheels work better, but I guess not in this case
Just tried these settings with the Thrustmaster T300 and unfortunately they don’t work well! The judder effect is way too pronounced and turning the Road Feel Scale to 0 gives no feel in the centre, even with Centre Spring Scale turned up to 150. IMHO the Road Feel Scale needs to be at least 130 on the T300.
You def do need steering self alignment!
So far your settings the best at least I can somewhat control the car , I keep having an issue with the car swaying left and right , I am using a TMX racing wheel .
Another issue I am having is Its stuck at aa 270 degree rotation , even if I have my setting on the actual wheel to 900 once I play Forza I am only getting 270 , and there is no option in the game to change this .
You have normal steering on. It should be simulation or else you play with the input filters for controllers. These settings are to overcome that critical option you forgot to change. This isn't going to work for most people.

Anybody have anything for the Logitech g920? I feel like forza just doesn’t put out enough. Barely feel curbs and stuff I can out my FFB to max and it’s still so light
Check the in game telemetry and make sure you are not clipping. High settings can lead to the wheel torque maxing out, meaning you will feel nothing else at all when it does this.

I think you interchanged "Self-Align" and "Center Spring". Self-align is the correcting force of the wheel coming from the tires. Making the car going straight again by itself when it is moving. Therefore, should be reasonable high. Center Spring is the aktive centering force of the wheel, independent of movement (like the auto centering of a joystick). This should be (close to) zero (like a car on a lift, wheel stays wherever you turn it).

I played forza on xbox for the past year on the logitech pro wheel and pedals i now have a pc and the wheel just runs horrible on the game anyone have setting recommendations? I also tried the wheel out on WRC and everything works as it should its just forza

I've been posting saying since day one of GT7 that the game needs more options to customize the FFB, even if its not so bad, it is still far behind many racing games and I think that it could be much improved, iv only we had the possibility to do it...good to see that forza gives you the chance so play with so many settings
Yeah GT7 doesn't give you as many options but it's better out of the box tho

I actually had to stop playing gt7 for a bit because the ffb was so bland and boring. Luckily they made it better a few patches ago. Why they don't have more settings for it is mind boggling. Only thing that brings me back to gt7 every few months or so is vr. I play mainly single player and the "single player" content is non existent once you get gold on all the trails and track experiences. Think the worst part for me is the ai. It's completely atrocious and I don't even feel like I'm racing. Wish they could implement sophy
In my opinion, when it comes to GT7 and wheel settings, I set them once almost 10 months ago and it's great, I don't see any reason to change anything, I don't need any more setting options.
@@vibovit9851 I can keep the same settings using GT cars, but the problem is that if you use a street car you don't get enough informations from the wheel using the same settings... It's ok to feel the difference, but in my opinion the ffb doesn't scale correctly. In addition to that I miss a lot of details that I feel with other sims, like many curbs that you are supposed to feel. So probably there is too much dampening that I would like to turn down but I can't... ironically the ffb was better in gt6 for ps3

I didnt have any issues with defualt settings on my Simagic Alpa Mini Direct Drive. The only thing I had to do was turn down the ffb to 50% and invert The ffb using fm5 Presets. So I'm guessing everyones settings will differ froM what wheel base they are using.

Yeah, center spring scale does almost nothing, at least on a non DD wheel. Steering self alignment is the combination of pneumatic and mechanical trail, so at 0 there is 0 torque steer. Center spring scale is supposed to center the wheel without outside influence, but when you check telemetry it falls off a cliff when turning, and at least on my wheeel doesn't even center it letting, but just slighty moves towards the center before stopping. If you want a smoother FFB experience, use more mechanical trail over pneumatic. Pneumatic is useful for the feeling of traction loss, especially on understeer, but the drop off in alignment makes feeling the car impossible by itself. And then when you are losing tractio and regaining at the edge, pnuematic goes crazy on the FFB.

@@Kireth Hard to do. Mechanical is strictly the alignment of the car. So it provides rear end feel, as the FFB ramps and then goes steady at peak traction and over. It is also smooth with no other detail, but you could play then game effectively with mechanical alone. Pneumatic ramps the alignment until peak traction and then drops of as the tires start slipping. So once traction is lost, there is no feel, and at the edge of traction is goes down and back up as the tires lose and gain traction. This makes FFB very erratic by itself, but is good detail to supplement mechanical as the main driver of steering alignment. Hope that helps.
@@Kireth Also you need Steering alignment scale as it is a combination of mechancial and pneumatic. Without it, neither has an effect at all. You can use that to adjust the two togwether independant of other FFB settings.

@@mikebos5072 I ended up trying a different setup from another YT video and then tweaked it a bit, currently have wheel apart as having ffb issues, upgrading the fan and ventilation, I will send you my settings a few days as been messing around with them trying to sort wheel out.

what you say is complete BOLLOCKS at least when it comes to sriving on a g920. and also the description on the settings is all messed up and opposite. at least on xbox
G920 has less torque so it will be difficult to get the detail
I have the g920.. Let's be honest it's a toy racing wheel.. Full of clattering cogs. The g920 (xbox) G29 (PlayStation) are for console players the wheel is just a fun gimmick.. PC has real sim games & real wheel.

I have the g923 and can say they need different tuning than other wheels on every game. They’re starter sim wheels so they’re not going to be as fast or good as the big money ones. Just tweak till you find the sweet spot
