brother THANK YOU, all these goof balls uploading all these terrible settings was about to have me being a controller boi
Are you a controller girl?
@@FUTRat-eg7dxhahaha really man, that man posted the most troll settings out there ever. "but it feels like his miata mkay" 😂😂
@@anselmbuderDon’t get me started on the shorts Kireth says the darndest things I tell ya
This is - by far - the most in dept and well put together wheel tutorial for FM8 to this date. Also, by all what I've read and tested so far, it's the only one that actually gets all the settings CORRECTLY. It's honestly mind blowing to me, how many self proclaimed "sim racing content creators" out there put out similar guides in the last couple of days, that are just completely off and not correct about what setting does what.
TLDR: Thanks, best guide, can recommend!
After watching many of these videos and feeling like all of the setups I’ve tried are crap, I’m really hoping that what you’re saying about this one is true cus man I just need a good feeling setup so I can actually start playing the game 😂
And thats why we watch him. His car setup guides have been instrumental in teaching me to better understand motor racing and cut down lap times
This guy is top notch
@@TimmyTheSnail i think you wont be disappointed - do yourself a favour though, and actually WATCH the entire thing and try to understand the concepts explained here. Don't just simply copy and paste his base settings. While they are a very good starting point, you can (and should!) still further adjust to your liking. The tools are very well explained here. For example, i decided to go with much higher mechanical trail than him, despite being on a belt wheel, just because i liked the heavier feeling result more.
@@anselmbuder okay thank you! :)
It seems the same as Forza 7, in which case I'd recommend checking out Blue028's video on FM7 FFB where he gets real in detail on what each setting actually does. Unless they changed it for FM8, which is possible, the FFB scale does not scale all effects, only certain ones.
finally someone that explains it in a very easy way to understand, and even consider every type of wheel so everyone can have a very good starting point in order to fine tune their game, thank you very much, Im subscribing right now.
I wanted to say THANK YOU! I bought a wheel setup last year and was playing horizon and asetto and was struggling. I waited for Motorsports because I’ve grown up on it and thought I would have a better time. Initially it was good. I updated to your settings and now I am having a blast. The feel for the understeer has been a godsend and that is from your explanation. Very much looking forward to your tuning video so I can dial in more. Happy motoring!!!!
Thank you so much for this video! Two days of testing setting suggestions by others, and now I finally have my Thrustmaster T300 feeling just right in Forza Motorsports after watching your video. You made it so easy to understand what each slider does, and made great suggestions for both newer direct-drive wheels, and older belt/gear driven wheels.
Hi, can you post your settings please?
@@VitzPatel +1. I have a TX.
+1 also keen, I haven't touched anything other than mechanical trail, but I bumped it to 150 on my T300 based on other vids but obviously different to what is suggested here

share your settings please
These settings literally got me my 1st two podiums! I did have to turn the wheel dampening down to 0 on my thrustmaster TX though. Thank you 😊
Just used this guide to set up a G923. It feels really good. Cars communicate well through the wheel and you get a really good feeling of the limits of grip. I'll add this is my first wheel and pedal set up.
Did you make any adjustments in G-Hub? I just picked up the G923 and feel like I'm constantly on the edge of grip despite it not appearing that way. It's my first wheel, though, so I'm chalking it up to inexperience.
i found turning on traction control for gt cars is amazing also improving my braking and learning to trail break has helped alot to enter curves fast like w controller my g hub settings :50 sens 720 degree turning 20 center spring and torque 100 and sound 20@@Minerva___
I've been needing something like this, actual explanations of what the settings are for!
I noticed with my thrustmaster TX there was a horrible constant vibration when going perfectly straight when wheel damping was set to 100, dropped that down to 40 to cope but left the rest of the settings standard, going to get everything dialed in thanks to this video!!
Bro, these are the BEST settings so far I tried...
I tried personnal settings and I wasn't happy with it, tried some I found on UA-cam, but yours, it's just "Perfect" !
Thanks mate
Thank you so much for including notes for older gear driven wheels. And then detailing each setting so we can understand how you came to your settings. I've been hunting for this exact video for a while now.
Oh my goodness! You've just brought the game back to life. Your suggestions changed the game 180 degrees. It does feel REAL. YOU'RE A GENIUS!
Thank you for this! I appreciate the way you organized the vid and how much time you went into explaining each setting. With my previous wheel setting, I was having difficulty feeling when the point of oversteer was, but with your settings im able to feel it. Thanks again for the work you put into helping the community.
Thank you for not just saying "run this" but you gave us the way to adjust to our preferences with a good starter. Hats off to you good sir, great video and solid guide 👌🏻 as always...
I have been waiting for this, thank you! Yesterday i tried to do my own setup and it's close to this, so I'll fiddle with it again with your tips
Thank you, I drive for a living and was feeling like I was a total fraud. I have a pretty basic Logitech wheel and the gear settings worked really nicely. This transformed the game for me, thanks again!
Dude I saw this video and applied it about 3 nights ago, let me just say thank you so much. The explanation is the key part of this video. Not just set these here and don't ask why lol
You did it perfectly, explained what each are and the difference of gear/belt vs the setting it should take on a direct drive that offers more power.
Had to come back and drop the like and comment.
It's crazy how getting the FFB right I'm this game just changes how much better you can learn to push for faster times
Thank you for this! FM has been really fun on wheel, can’t wait to add these in so it’s even more fun!
Well put together, thank you.
I have been watching a number of other guides, all of which seem to indulge drastic changes, or wildly ranging values from one setting to the next in order to achieve a ‘feeling’ of which isn’t properly explained or substantiated.
In your video, you explained the specific characteristics of each value and how the proposed settings influence them, which is exactly what I was looking for 👍
Been waiting for this video for a while now since I knew it would be very useful. I used your guide for FH5 which helped significantly. So thanks as always Hoki and I can't wait to join in on Tuesday
Thank you for this, had a pretty good base that I was happy with, but this just helped me dial in my wheel perfectly. It feels great now.
Thank you for this I started using these on Sunday and you have the best breakdown of the settings I have found yet also your baselines provided me with the perfect starting point on my g920. Made a few tweaks for personal preference but since using these I have logged maybe 20 to 30 hour, can actually use my sim rig instead of it collecting dust and was able to improve my lap times consistently by anywhere from 1 to 5 seconds depending on the track.
What kind of things did you tweak for your 920?
Thanks dude. Really useful especially for the 2 categories of wheel described inside.
Thanks man. By far the best explained video out right now. I'm using a Thrustmaster TS-XW, and I've finally got really good FFB feel thanks to this vid.
I've got the same wheelbase, i'm keen to try his settings! Good to know he's onto something. Currently my ts-xw feels just ok on Forza 7
My guy!! Always coming in with the great settings guides
I tried other settings from another channel and the settings were nowhere near those ones! Just tried them on maple valley and this is a game changer! I can actually have a sensation from the track instead of only sounds. Thank you!
Thank you so much! These settings make the game feel amazing!
Such a good video. A quick setting guide and explanation to fine tune per individual. Exactly how ffb videos need to be.
Thank you for this, did some adjustments based off now what I believe to be direct driven settings. Which everything helps and is appreciated. This actually is very complex to what type of wheel you are on. Just getting started in the sim portion of racing .
Thanks for this awesome video!! Your explanation for every setting is exactly what I was looking for!
This was GREAT! I got a wheel a few months ago and have been eagerly awaiting the Forza release. At first I was very disappointed. This video saved the day!! Thanks SO much!!
Thank you! I am new to a direct drive wheel and was struggling to get the feel from my set-up that I wanted. Unless you understand what all of the settings mean, the descriptions provided are more confusing than enlightening. This was the best description of all of the setting I have ever seen. Again thank you!
True
thank you so much for this man ! completely changed the game for me, i was struggling to find a setting that feels natural, but this video gave me a great base setup to work off of, and now i've got it to my exact preference. game was almost unplayable for me until i found this video
TY so much for this video. Been playing the past few days and everything felt so unnatural especially when braking into corners. This fixed every issue I had with my G29, it feels so responsive now
How are you using the g29? What adapter are you using? The one I have must not work very good because forza feels like it's from 2003 in comparison to gran turismo 7
@scottybevan4108 just the usb cable that came with it. I am on pc also, so need to have the logitech software running along with it for it to work
@@scottybevan4108drivehub works
Dude thank you so so much. You’re the only forza content creator with an actual good settings guide. But heck what am I saying all of your videos are top tier. My wheel feels absolutely fantastic using the settings you provided. I just got a g923 today along with a next level racing f-gt lite cockpit and I’m absolutely loving it! Thanks again and keep up the great work brotha!
Have you tried out both settings on your wheel?
@@johndoe-eh2nq yes I have, hoki’s recommended settings feel the best to me
was going to set my wheel up this weekend! thank you for some good tips!
Wow! This is the best explanation I have ever watched. Purely professional! Not that BS of "I like, I think", when the person talking about it says it feels so real and, in fact, doesn't even know how to drive in real life.
Awesome job!
Been going crazy trying to tune my wheel... FINALLY a good tutorial. THANK YOU so damn much
Brotha, thank you. I used your wheel settings on my gt dd pro, and just amazing! Feels close to my ff on AC
I got a cheap Tm TMX on market place and have been messing with settings for like 6 hours. This has helped me develop a solid baseline to start and tweak moving forward. Awesome video and breakdown, thanks man!
Good job breaking down the different settings, thanks
Glad i found this video. I was just using the defaults for the T150. It wasnt bad, but this feels much better now
Big thumbs up. Imo the best wheel settings guide. Thx :)
Omg I was watching a wheel setting video of yours from a while ago earlier today this updated guide will be better
You are the king of racing content on UA-cam. Thanks for this! 🤙
Thank you very much on this guide and the baseline guide you posted on reddit for cars on FM8.
Oh man, that's so much better. I find it odd that so many others have such different settings? This is by far the best I've tried. Like how you explained to use Force Feedback slider as your over all volume.
These settings have saved my wheel thank you so much mate!
Great video, thank you. I'm new to wheel at all. Bought a Logitech G923 and used your settings as a starting point. Works instantly very well. Probably i may change settings over time with experience, but this is an excellent starting point.
Thank you big time for your hard work, the effort you put into this video speaks for itself. I'm in my 60's and 5 years ago or so I purchased Fanatec V2 servo, V3 pedals, shifter and obutto rig, but never really took a deep dive into the settings. Haven't really used the rig in several years but with FM release I thought I give it another go. Right off the bat the handling was bad I tried a few things, probably made it worse, anyway your instructions and explanations have now allowed me to drive and race and it feels really good. One question is "how does steering sensitivity (on wheel ) affect the overall turning radius of the car? I've had it set at 750 but would like to know if it can be improved. Be safe and keep up the awesome work.
Thank you, I was not liking the game on my wheel and had started playing on controller. Finally have the wheel feeling as good as I hoped. Wheel DD Pro.
This is a fantastic explanation- my fanatec was almost undriveable for RWD
Oh man, tanks you for this. The FFB is so dialed in for me now.
I've been sim racing for 3 years now, played em all from more sim-cade games like GT7 to full sims like iRacing and everything in between. This may sound crazy but I feel this is the best FFB I've experienced.
Now before the pitchforks come im not claiming that Motosport has better FFB and physics than iRacing, but thanks to this guide my ol' TS-XW has never felt so perfectly connected with a virtual car.
Hopefully I can use some if this new knowledge to get my settings just as dialed in with my other games.
Edit: Just read some of the other comments and its seems like there are quite a few people with the TS-XW and they feel the same way, kinda interesting.
Are you using the setting for dd or belt drive on your TS-XW ?
I really like that you mentioned the differences in settings for budget wheels and better wheels.
I just got my very first wheel, so i obviously didn't wanna break the bank immediately, because i am not even sure how much I'm gonna like it.
I went with the logitech g923 to start with.
Thank you for this guide!
Thank you, bro ... I tried various settings, but yours are by far the best... I have a logitech g pro
Just wow man awsome feels so much better now. Thankyou! Also do you have a drifting settings guide aswel man, topbloke!
Great settings, perfect video, chapeau and thanks!
Always the goat when it comes to wheel settings thank you man, you’re the OG lol
Omg! It's so much better on ts-xw from Thrustmaster with this settings!! Many thanks 🎉
I love how you explain everything so well in the video. However I'm on pc and my wheel base is set to 5nm, in game forcefeedback I put it on 150. But my settings are different than your recommended settings but I love how they are now. Winning many races with a rating of 4.980 on direct drive wheel I'm happy.
OMG, the mechanical trail scale explanation really allowed me to control understeer now
Same
being very new to wheel on forza, this is such a helpful guide, some of these other guys had it feeling like i was driving on ice 😂
Fantastic info. Thanks so much :)
I'm glad I found this has helped so much
Great job this was welcomed 🙌
Wow , 😅 these settings made my wheel feel so different, like butter. So smooth and i can actually feel the road 😮
Excellent tutorial my guy
Your settings are perfect 😍😍
100% nailed it, thanks heaps, g920 feels incredible!!!
What settings did you end up with? I have a g920 also.
Here sir, have a like! Excellent baselines and with some custom tweaking to personal preferrence, it made my old csw 2.5 feel very nice. I actually did not think forza could ever feel this good, it is not assetto corsa but i gotta admit, it is up there. Great video❤
Mind sharing your Assetto Corsa settings? I have the CSW V2.5 and I feel like Forza FFB feels better than Assetto Corsa.
@@akaspoonn the difference between forza and ac ffb is that forza is using all sorts of "artificial" elements to give you the different sensatsions of the car...in a way its cool but but true ffb in AC just feels better imo. But here are my AC settings:
Wheelbase: SEN 900, FFB 100, DRI 2, FOR 100, DPR 100, SPR 100, BRF what ever you like the best.
AC Settings: Gain 65% (also have to adjust per car setting but usually 75%) works best for me. Filter 0, Minimum force 0, all the effects 0, enhanced understeer effect 0 and soft lock is activated.
Center boost range is 10% and experimental settings are on with gyroscopic effect. In this setting Damper gain is 100%
Bare in mind, order of these settings are as displayed in Content Manager.
I feel like even if you dont like these settings right away, it gives u a good baseline to work from.
Thank you sir! You saved me from giving up on this game!!!
Amazing video appreciate the help
Nice job bro!
I have been playing Horizon 5 for about a year and Motorsports since it came out struggled with the settings tremendously however after just following a little quick setup today it's much better
Great vid. What are the next guides planned?
thank you, In this settings i found my missing 6seconds (yes i talk about 6sec, not 6/10's) at kyalamie (Lambo; comp. ACC). Feels good man 😊
Big Tks from a causal player.
Save my gaming experience, you good man
Wish a good day🎉
This is a good guide, I just threw some settings from reddit in and worked with that on a G29, which worked well enough. Now if only manual with clutch could get fixed so my shifts don't take like 2 seconds at the minimum.
Upgrade to race transmission at lvl 9
@@MrOfenfrische hard to do that at level 1, trying to shift how I normally would irl and it redlines all the time.
@@seven_sixtwoslow down for a few levels, the clutch upgrades do shorten that time. It is frustrating though
That Lynk & Co TCR looks so good 😍
Fanatec 8nm here, just turned down the overall FF to be more realistic power steering wise. But the rest is $$$! Thank you!
I tried your settings for a G920 and after changing the Vibration to 30 and leaving CSS at 0 it's pretty much perfect. I can actually feel the ripples now instead of just hearing them.
What you mean by scc? Damn I'm struggling with my G920. I always used a controller and since yesterday I have a wheel. Is scc center spring scale?
@@stabilozzguessing center spring scale
Thank you for detailling what the settings do. This, together with a decent starting point, should get me started easily in a few days when the game goes into regular release!
Can't help but cringe at all the people telling you to max out FFB scale and leave center spring on... like, come on.
In FM7, I don't even think the center spring worked.
this was needed fr i watched like 5 ppl just talk nonsense
Well done. Thanks for the tips. I've been waiting for my CSL DD because I thought my G920 was just complete shit (which it still is) but it atleast feels better.
Your DD settings for my ts-xw work a treat! Tried the belt Drive settings but didn’t feel as nice
Thank you for this! Will these setting you provided be good for drifting?
Great video especially having just bought the game. I won’t have to spend hours trying to figure out the settings and I can just jump into a race once it finishes downloading the 100+gb…
THANK YOU.
Thank you ❤
Wow. Just wow thanks
Thanks
Thank you, thank you & thank you, great content and the wheel tutorial settings work greet on my Thrustmaster TX wheel with slight settings to suit me, well done, look forward to more.;🤣😂😁
This was really helpful, thank you! Do you have any tips for when oversteering/drifting? I find it hard to not overcorrect or end up in "tank slappers". The counter steering feeling isn't quite right to me and wondering which settings would most effect this?
Great video, would love to see one about pedals, it might just be me my break and throttle are extremely sensitive.
im not as knowledgeable on these types of things on what settings to change where i dont have to "Big toe" the brake and throttle like im in spongebob and i have messed around with the settings but figured you the internet knows best.
This will help SO MUCH. Thanks!
I do have a question about car settings. For some reason when I drive the IMSA Cadillac it feels like I have pretty big dead zone on the wheel. Any idea how to fix that?
Welp hopefully this good i got mine pretty dialed in already but there's still room for improvement
Perfect man thank you so much.
I’ve tried these and I do really like them.
Tried them for drifting aswell but it seems like there is abit of a ‘clunky/wobble’ near centre when transitioning.
Any ideas or tips on how to improve that and take away the clunky ness?
Thanks
Again great video. Thanks for the break down🤙🏻
Check out Blue028's video on FM7 FFB. Seems the same, but that issue is going to come down to dynamic damping, or mechanical/pneumatic. I forget which of the 2 trail scales will fix that. The best bet is to leave FFB scale at 100 and turn off everything else to 0 besides mechanical and pneumatic. According to Blue, if you raise one, you should lower the other. If the wheel is too light in normal driving, up the damping until it feels a decent level, but that will make the wheel stiff during drifting, so you also turn on dynamic damping so when you start to slide it reduces the damping by straight percentage. Also check in the telemetry menu for a FFB graph if there is one.
@@JZStudiosonline thank you bro. Appreciate that🤙🏻🤙🏻
Just discovered your channel with this video. Do you plan to make a tunning video for Forza Motorsport 2023? You seem to be very good explaining complicated stuff.
Great video thanks what about the settings on the actual wheel base tho anywhere we can see what to set that to 😊
Oscar has the senna and schumacher vibe, feels like he brings something extra to the table.
Hello, thanks for your great work 🎉 just one question, I'm using a fanatec system, should I set the Fanatec panel settings to default???
