Range Rover Evoque 2.0 Ingenium water pump replacement

Investigating and fixing overheating fault on a 2017 Range Rover evoque 2.0 ingenium engine. fault chased to a faulty water pump. Step by step guide on how to replace the coolant pump and auxiliary belt. Same procedure applies to the landrover discovery sport with the same engine.

This video provided the instructions I needed to change a water pump on a Land Rover Discovery Sport 2019. I am grateful to the author for sharing his expertise. For other would-be DIY water pump replacers for the 2 litre ingenium engine, I would add that the extra-long 8mm ratchet spanner is essential for this job. it took me 4.5 hours to change the water pump, probably two hours of which was spent removing and reinserting the two topmost bolts on the water pump. These bolts are very difficult to access and, as I found out, very difficult to remove if you do not have an extra-long 8mm ratchet spanner.

Well explained thanks.
The code reader is confusing, it's a 'auxiliary engine coolant pump' and is also called a 'variable coolant pump'.
I don't know this engine but is it really an auxiliary (extra) pump?

Tbh I didn’t really notice at the time till I was editing the video but there’s a chance that top reading is for a auxiliary water pump , they often have an inline pump , if so it might not list the command for the variable pump only the position

Hi mate I have a problem, I’ve changed thermostats housing on same vehicle, after filling with coolant my fan is on full straight after starting vehicle, any ideas, can thermostats be live checked , by the way there is a bleed screw on left near air box on the 2.0 cheers help needed ta
