Mike is an amazing camera guy . This man takes the best footage and gets on his back and helps with builds . Give this man a raise !!
I guess he isn't just a camera man either, he is like a camera man OEM+, helps with cars and probably abit of the content direction sometimes too.
Hey Adam, I'm Beau. I work at a Porsche specialty shop in WA, Bristows and am currently working on a few of these 911 air-cooled engines, 3.0, 3.2 & 3.4s One car with ITBs an 80s 911 with GT3 suspension and chassis reinforcement etc.. super cool to be building them at the same time you are / were building yours. It was pretty sweet moving through it at the same time learning about them. They are so niche that a lot of enthusiasts don't get to see a lot of the details or get hands-on. I will have to get some content out with them.. Inspiration brother!

heres a crazy fact, so I just met richard hammond from top gear at the toronto auto show for media day, so I was watching old top gear reviews and whe nthey reviewed the 964 carrera4, and turbo the turbo was mint green with speed lines and it I watched it literally 20 minutes ago, this build is amazing btw way so glad you get to have that experience

@@justinvoelker9781the old second eyes cliche, IDK how many cars either of Adam or the guy behind the camera have ever worked on that had a distributor, and the anxiety of working on a completely new type of platform than either are used to, sometimes the simplest solution gets overlooked, even the Porsche specialist guy didn't think of it until last.
You put in the work that nobody is ever going to see again, real car guys really relate to that!

This is by far my favorite car on the channel even more so over the gt3 touring. The mint color is so damn good with the speedlines and the engine bay came out amazing.

As soon as I saw it backfire out of both pipes when you stopped cranking it, I said, "Distributor is out 180.". I'm not even a mechanic. But I've seen that often enough, I look for it.
I was thinking he flooded the crud out of it since he unplugged the distributor and didn't disconnect fuel 😂

As soon as i saw the flames and how it was trying to start. I knew it was Dist. Just the way the fuel and back fire was. Nissan Forklifts taught me that.

Engine bay and the engine look Great!! So much better and sounds pretty sweet even without a muffler!!! Great Job!!! Still think it needs the trunk with the spoiler, I think that just makes the whole car look better and sportier!!!

you can take the handle mounts off that lift cart and flip them around, and then the handle will fold away from the cart and they are so much nicer to use, and you don't have to disconnect the handle and drag it around and risk it catching and dropping the table on accident

This thing is SICK man
To help with not spilling oil. Put the rubber spout on top and not the bottom. When the spout is at the bottom there's no air going in the can for a smoother flow.

The air cooled 911 is so similar to, but way more sophisticated than the VW Beetles I grew up restoring.
I installed those mounts with yellow inserts and could not wait to take them off. The NVH was too much for my liking. Went back to stock mounts.
OEM RS mounts are harder than regular mounts but still made out of rubber.

I KNEW it was the classic 180 degree timing thing 😂 it's such a common and easy mistake on the first start, especially on a distributor system. That cranking + weird flames is a classic timing sign lol

Epic build! One thing, should have got rid of the engine powered AC and swapped in an electric AC compressor. Doesnt sap power from the engine when in use like the belt driven one.
That is a beautiful car.
