Life is unfair. By focusing on the unfairness, rather than what you can do about it, you set the stage for nihilism and depression to take over what could otherwise be a successful business and a great life.

When I realised I couldn't afford to go to college, I found my nearest one, and just started walking into lectures for coding. No one paid any attention to me, hell I just talked about it out loud for a year, everyone was chill. People thought it was weird sure that I was doing something that I wouldn't get a degree for but my reasoning was that the paper didn't matter. What mattered is that I came out knowing how to do something.
Now turns out Im not into coding, but at that time I didn't have a job and I needed to try something to get me somewhere. From this venture, I found out I'm really good at getting things done when I want to do them. Right now I'm going to try sell baked goods at my local market by juggling on my unicycle to attract customers( this came from a solid year of juggling up and down my town on a bicycle)
Listen to this man's words, there are very few situations where you can say with confidence that you've done all you can to achieve something. Sometimes you gotta go a bit outside the box to get it

People always claim life isnt fair and it's up to you to change it. But why though? Did you deserve the situations in the first place? No. Yet you're expected to deal with them? No this argument is flawed greatly, life itself is fair, it's the people in your life that effect it that make it unfair for you. No one holds you down except the people in your life who have higher authority or power. When you dont get a job even after applying or being at the interview. It wasnt your fault, when you're trying to get ahead in life and someone is halting your path indirectly. It isnt your fault. Life on the surface level is fair but those involved in it make it unfair.

Just sharing my life experiences since they're similar and in case someone in the comments reads it: I am a 26 year old virgin who has no friends and never had a girlfriend. I was bullied all throughout elementary, junior high, high school. I spent 5.5 years in community college because I had no motivation (I'd go home and play video games all day) and about 4 years into that, I was extremely depressed because nothing in my life was going well and my family threatened to kick me out of the house, rightfully so. So, with my shitty 2.7 GPA, I apply around for Electrical Engineering programs. Got rejected by every single one because my gpa was so low. That following summer, I was like "i'm sick at tired of this shit" and applied for Mathematics programs, got into only 1 school and decided to take that offer. 2017 rolls around and its one of the most turbulent years of my life. At the end of that year, I learn a very important lesson: I don't need to make friends. I just need acquaintances. I have deep shame and regret of how poorly I did during that time in community college. Thats what propels me to work hard now and do all that I can in my own power to make a difference in my future. You don't need schooling. Its just a stupid paper. I know so many people who can solve complex equations but they don't have life skills for gods sake. I have a dream: I want to be an Embedded Systems engineer making consumer products. I will eat dirt/shit until that dream is realized. I don't care because this is my only chance.

We don't understand ourselves. Human psychology is weird and messed up in modern times. If you don't even know what to think about your life, i'd like to recommend you to watch Jordan Peterson lectures or podcasts about a topic that you think it may help you understand something about yourself regarding that topic. He's a clinic psychologist and he doesn't speak political or social nonsense. He really knows his stuff. There's valuable information you can collect from those lectures.
As a psychology student myself i feel that he got specially relevant information for ppl like you or me. I felt lost and depressed until i started learning about my own psychology and why i migth felt the way i did. Jordan Peterson lectures might help you gather the knowledge you need in order to get motivated. Life is not easy, so i wish you the best in whatever you are doing. Cheers.

Hell yes. I overcame 8 years of frustration at work with an employer that wouldn't let me reach my goals. Someone at their competition heard about my issues and knew I'd be an excellent fit at their organization. I jumped at the opportunity. And I haven't looked back. I've doubled my efficiency with their help and support. And all it took was the will to change. I changed employers. I moved from a house that I have significant equity in place. I turned my life inside out because that's what I needed to do to serve my customer base. Now I live in a better place. I'm in a bigger town. We're going to turn our old place into a rental. Life isn't fair. But I changed that by taking the uncomfortable route. Great video. I hope more people take your advise and discover what they can do to change their own lives.

You can't make your opportunities, but you can prepare yourself to take advantage of the opportunities that will naturally occur. Since then many people have asked me how I accomplished this or that. I always answer. No one ever told me I couldn't accomplish them so I did.

7 Years ago I was at the same spot, thinking life is not fair, seeing my brothers do well and I was not, and of course I was blaming everyone else except myself and feeling stuck and alone. but one day I decided that I am going to do whatever I can and I will not care if my efforts will be wasted, three months later I was making more than a 1000 USD a month, 6 months later I got a contract with a company in the US and I was getting paid 4000$ a month + the overtime. which was huge for me since I live in Gaza where the average income is less than 700$.
whoever feels stuck and alone, once you decide to take control you will get out and I too know how does it feel to be stuck I have been stuck for 5 years before deciding to do something. and if a lazy person who live in a third world place (not even a country) can do it. you will do it and you find what you need to do. best wishes to all of you.

I know this is a four year old video from the time of this comment, but you are the inspiration that I and many need. I was diagnosed with Asperger's (now called high functioning autism) and you are giving me the necessary inspiration that I can give myself in order to maybe put my note taking to use. I have a formula to take notes using text with labels on everything as if everything fits within a category of another rather than having notes about math or something without a place to connect it to the main subject, branching out. It's how I make sense of things. It is wonderful to see a great video like yours that could very well push me to stop being an average rat racing joe. Much love to both you and your channel. Its good to see someone else who probably internalizes a lot of thoughts and information but in social context may not come off the same way but in a professional setting since you understand how to go about it socially, are able to take that internalization and DO something with it in a social and professional context that is fit for you. I love it!

This is the best advice. Stuck in a garbage small town with zero opportunity, no family, not a lot of money to work with. I dropped all I had on a Dell XPS capable of pretty much anything creative. I started learning web development but I would get burnt out, so I picked up art as well to better understand color and design. Then video editing. Then Japanese. For some people having one focused task works. My brain wants me to hate myself so I've found that variety is the best option for me to become more well rounded. I'll someday become great at all of these things, maybe slower than a person with one focus. But I won't be sitting around poor hating my job eating Top Ramen forever. You just have to do something.

I learned this lesson right around the end of 2012. At that point in my life I had a college degree that wasn’t earning me any money. I was actually earning money fixing and detailing cars as well as maintaining lawns for rich people with my dad. I had a girlfriend at the time that I wanted to spend the rest of my life with. So I decided to go back to grad school take out some student loans, invest in myself, and now I have a Masters degree and work for the state that I live in. I make a decent salary that allows me to live pretty comfortable and allows me to pursue my hobbies. Now I have a wife, a decent rental property, and a kid on the way. Life isn’t great but it’s good and that’s all a guy can ask for.

Thank you so much for your videos (I look SO forward to watching them when you post!) and your encouraging, charging words here, especially! You're the best!

    Nicely salted video 😜
The uselessness of existence has always been at the back of my mind, for as long as I know.
For some people it is just part of their personality to be constantly aware of it.
Whether they are 10, 20 or 30, successful businessman or unemployed and bored to death.
The big difference is if you accept the uselessness of life and make the best of it, or actually act on it in a negative way.

Still watching but great stuff so far, it's crazy how powerful our mindset can be both positive and negative.

Thank you so much Louis. Since last September I had to deal with my father's sudden death, two collapsed lungs and a long term relationship break up and at the end of that, of the shitload of paperwork to even have an income to live and of the shitstorm with my mental and physical health, I just took a time out. I did things I liked but that were unrelated to my studies and thus my studies fell behind. This gave me a spark to crack on during the summer break.

Great message Louis, I've asked so many people stuck in a loop this question and they won't hear it until they're ready for it but you got to keep asking until they are.

Very inspirational video Louis. Some pertinent words come to mind. "Nothing ventured, nothing gained" and "You can't help those who are not prepared to help themselves". One final thought to consider. Negativity breeds negativity so try to surround yourself with those who can bring positive energy into your world.

Ive had a life long perserverance with an irrational optimimism. I get agrivated and I procrastinate.
*I always benefit from going outside.
*I always benefit from Interacting with anyone in person.

Judging from your post, I'd guess that it is the optimism that does that to you. I do share this completely irrational optimism and I've noticed that people are so in need of optimism in their life that they enjoy just being close to you.
One guy just told me something I'd like to share: "if you fail, fail fast. You'll have more time trying something else".
In life you do indeed have an unlimited amount of " let's start from scratch" cards if you ever feel the need to.

Thank you a lot, I'm 23 years old and I'm studying in a very tough business college in Mexico City, I have been depressed beacause I'm watching some of my highschool friends graduating from other colleges that are not that tough, and I'm feeling like I have failed in everything, even though I know that isn´t true, I mean, I really have failed in a few classes but that's something normal in my college. Watching this video and asking me about what am I going to do, make me think that I need to stop using social media (incuding UA-cam, lol) and playing games or hanging out on the weekends because I only use those activities like a distraction that won't help me to finish college. I know that I need some free time to rest, but now I won't rest that much.

I wish i could personally thank you for all of the videos and talk you are giving, UA-cam randomly recommended me your videos and for the past few days i've been feelling better personally and motivated to follow what i love, and something exciting about it is the fact that i also love IT as a career and i hope that soon i will become a proffessional of this business, i love everything related to informatics and electronics. As of now i have started a job as waiter to give myself that first push i needed into the market since i'm just 19, i will take your courses and everything i can get from the internet to prepare as much as possible.

You don't need to find a place in life because you're already at that place. The best time is always now and the best place is always where you are.

When I was in highschool I never know where I wanna be, I feel my life is purposeless, in fact I still feel it today.
But, I always ask myself to be slightly better than others, whether in academic, sport or something else. Just a little bit better than the average, no need to be the top.
Call that arrogance or some shit, at least I did something.

Dude... I know exactly how you feel. Especially the last sentence. It can be so frustrating that it's not possible to actually convey this attitude without it clicking in the recipient's mind anyway. It's like speaking a different language that one has learned not so long ago, that changed everything, but now it's impossible to communicate in the previous language to convince others of learning this language. Or at least for me that is the case. Some people like you seem to have a talent for making others move. Please continue the great work!

    So TL/DR,
What helped you was knowledge. Not anything else, but knowledge and education. Now that's a big fu to people criticising the education system and that bs. Keep it up Louis, you're a big inspiration
