Combat Resupply

- In this video I’ll talk about combat resupply (receiving ammunition in the field and being able to get it ready for the fight quickly). I apologize for the wind sound. I’ve already been told previously with other videos on ways to reduce wind noise. However, I was down in the woods and didn’t think it was going to effect it as much as it did. The way I see it is if this video applies to you, you’re going to be more concentrated on soaking up the information then worrying about how much the tiny bit of wind sound is bothering you. Thanks for watching!

as mike b vanderboeg (the man who broke the fast and furious scandal on the net)was a huge advocate of bandoleers. I decided that the us-gi version was lacking.
the gi material to me is just too damn flimsy and weak.
I bought a sewing machine.
I ordered various colors and weights of webbing.(they have some very thin and strong versions out now)NO COTTON!
I also was dis-pleased with a lack of camo. so I bought dozens and dozens of yards of various camo patterns.
I ordered FDE "D" rings(metal)yes, they are out there.
Also ordered buckles for the webbing,,1 inch.
ordered 1 inch quick detach rifle sling snaps.
I more or less copied the dimension of the gi bandoleer with new camo material.
added the D ring into the bandoleer, at the ends.
at first i thought the card board inserts were the way to go,,, i made some but was not pleased overall.
what i came up with is my,,,"pocket in a pouch".
i made a small pouch that held the 3 ,,10 round strippers.
put the 30 rds in the pouch, then inserted into the bandoleer.
made the pouch(VERY IMPORTANT HERE)2 or so inches TOO long so that,,,,,
i inserted the pouch and let the TAIL of the pouch hang out of the bandoleer. when ammo needed just yank on the tail,,out comes the pouch.
ammo does not rattle nearly as much in the pouch.
plus, if i will not need ammo soon, i can tuck the tail of the pouch into the bandoleer pocket.( a very good seal)
then i used webbing and the adjustment buckle to make slings for the bandoleers.
no safety pin needed.
the bando slings used the cheaper metal snaps that connected the sling to the d ring.
these bandoleers look better function better and will take much more abuse.
then i came up with an ingenious bandoleer for M1 garands.
line up 4-5-6 pockets for the clips,,,,
but leave the top(open side)up and put a zipper on the top.
as you need a clip of 8, just unzip it to where the next clip is exposed.
d rings on ends with adjustable sling,,,the way to go.
BTW, I made some bandos for the 5.45x39 that i have,,,,
if you have never seen the somewhat rare(EXPENSIVE) stripper clips for the 5.45x39,,,you must see how the commies engineered them. the best ever made.
In 1970 I was in home economics 6th grade,,Mrs. Mendenhall was my teacher.
this is where I tried to learn how to operate a sewing machine.
I was not good back then at all. 40 years later after some practice I was able to do very good work.
impressed my mother.
thx teach.
Do you have trouble using those speed loaders on pmags I had trouble when I was at the range few years ago when I was firing my weapon it wasn't feeding right but I didn't have trouble with the GI metal mags

This was very interesting, a lot of this stuff i was never taught in private training. Then again ammo storage and such isn't really something one would think of teaching about, because all this just seems already known.
Thanks for the helpful video brother. Never realized this stuff was so in depth and useful. 'Rah killer.

Ah ok, because your response of "'Rah killer!" I assumed you were a Marine aka Devil Dog. the phrase "Rah" is commonly used in our circles.
+Brent0331 I work with Devils from time to time and also have a few friends who are deployed who are Devils as well. It's more fun to use their terms lol.
Dude where did you learn to call it a speed loader? It's called a loading spoon!
"Spoon" is just as unofficial as "speed loader". Probably a more technical term and proper nomenclature of the device would be "magazine charger". Either way it facilitates "speed loading" of magazines, not sure why this was even worth your time commenting about or me replying to but what ever floats your boat.
"With each bandoleer, there was a metal magazine guide for speed loading the stripper clips into either 20 or 30 round magazines." olive-drab.com/od_firearms_ammo_556mm.php
this was meant to be a harmless joke i guess.
Great video and sharing of wisdom. Wish this would be standard information that everyone should know. The benefit of this i s to make life so simple and to keep the fight going or back into the fight ASAP.

20 round mags loaded with 75 gun Match ammo for my Roof Top Voting Rifle fit great in a bandoleer
...
Great information!
Safety pins are not used in a repack ?
I’m a veteran infantryman but I learned something from this. I didn’t realize you could pull that seam out and put mags in that bandolier.
Thanks brother, that's why I put this stuff out there for war fighters like yourself to learn some of the nick nacks I've picked up over the years. I'm learning new thing every day still.
Fuck I didn’t even know there was a speed loading tool. Damn ammo counting and loading four plus one tracer.....
Work smarter not harder the Air Force said. Well clearly we were doing something harder lol
EricTheBoringOne - so you just told me your a cherry.
every vet who been in cobat knows one never load a full 30 round, dueto the fact some magazines will "will" get hung up cause is the spring of the mag with carbon 80% of the time get dirty very quickly.
😬
I was infantry for 8 years, and during that time I also never knew that the bandoleers could hold extra 30 round mags just by removing that white string. We just went out and bought our own personal bandoleers to do that. The money we would of saved, oh well, we still got the job done.
Also that tip with the M240 ammo cans was awesome. I huffed the M240 B for 2 years and we never carried the ammo that way, which would of made everything so much more easier. Instead we the belts out of the cans and spooled the rounds, placing them loosely in an assault bag or IFAC pouches. We should of done this instead, would of saved so much time. I did have a short belt, about 20 rounds already in the weapon system, just for a quick burst; once prone, I would load a proper belt and let the weapon sing. Loved the 240.
The speed loaders worked some of the time for me, either they did not fit onto the mag or the stripper clips went into the mags with the rounds. Usually I would just go from one speed loader to the next, until I found one that worked for me.
EricTheBoringOne thank you sir for serving! Semper Fi

Maybe...Maybe not. It's the same every generation or so. The only thing that changes is ammunition capacity. The next guy presenting such videos 20 years on, will be repacking his 350rd magazines.

The MRE packet work great too. Especial if it isn't yours.
That’s what I used it for too
It's funny that I stumbled across this. I'm a vet from the Desert Storm era; and even back then, nobody taught us about the proper use of the speed loaders then. I can recall seeing those things thrown away as trash, and littered everywhere throughout the field on exercises.
I bet it was fun policing them later
I got in after Desert Storm and we actually used the stripper clips in boot camp. But that was the only time I recall using them though.
"I can't even mimic the stupidness" 🤣
Dang I'm sitting here like "why would they do that it seems pointless."
And then he'd explain why and I would just sit there mind blown thinking
"Damn, that's genius."
Good observation and of course since the knowledge is lost and not passed on we don't realize how prepared some of these items are for war or their complete usefulness.
Army E-5 here. Very good instructional video for Soldiers and Marines who are not combat arms. I am a firm believer that we should master these basics before our MOS. I'll definitely be using these videos as a training aid with my soldiers.
+American Warrior556 Thanks brother.
I can't speak for Marines. But for Soldiers these days it seems like they lack a lot of field craft skills due to massive amounts of online training these days. Most can't change a tire.
Agreed the past couple years of that crap is gonna cost us when things hit the fan. I've got friends who literally didn't reenlist because of that bullshit. At least they brought Sgt's time back(at least in my unit)
Why do you think the military had to go the automatic trans in everything they have. There Mom's never showed them how to drive a stick shift. It's sad, boys act like girls and girls act like boy's, and not a Dad to be found.
I remember you couldn't change a tire in the '90s during op palladium
BulletSpoung i think that’s less about men and more about the fact that automatics are much more common in civilian lives.
Same for marines 2
Being in the swiss army, I've always wondered how real soldiers manage their ammo in combat

We used to load magazines by ramming the stripper clips on the edge of the ammo table, saving injury to our thumbs. Loads pretty quickly that way too. Tap the magazine on the table to assure all the bullets are seated properly and yer golden.
Pretty clever using the mg ammo bandoleer straps with knots in them to carry the ammo cans over yer shoulder.
You can use another magazine also to push them down as well. Every second counts and the longer you can keep using your thumbs the better. No need to blow out your thumb joints or get blisters.
yeah I dont like the idea of pointing the business end of bullets toward my body. Not sure why anyone would use a bandoleer for storing mags. ammo pouches are generally more than enough. As I recall from a platoon mate that was in vietman, additional ammo was stored in the ruck sack for ease of toting. He stated that as a Marine on patrol in Vietnam he carried around 500 extra rounds on his back.
@ skildude
A bullet and cartridge is non directional without a barrel to guide it. In the case of a round detonating outside of a chamber, the brass case will fail at the same time if not sooner than the jacketed bullet will separate, basically turning the cartridge into a firecracker with some added shrapnel. The brass casing actually has a much higher chance to injure you in that situation than the bullet does.
@@skildude
because as said in the video, you may be sent on a mission requiring more ammo, and you have more mags than you have pouches for them. there are a lot of pics of US soldiers in Vietnam carrying extra ammo in bandoleers with full mags, the LCE pouches could only carry 2x3 mags (even those for M14), the bandoleer could carry 7 additional mags, even if you did not feed your gun with mags straight from the bandoleer, it could be used to swap the empties from your pouches during a short lull in the fight
and if you have issues about that weight flopping on your body, they come handy with a safety pin to tighten them on your chest
thats how i load ammo when helping the ammo handlers at the range
They give you that PFC or LCPL look. LMFAO.
@Joep Buyod You ever walk up to a toddler and start using big words? That same exact expression.
@Joep Buyod
they are Rank acronyms
PFC is Private First Class
LCPL is Lance CorPoraL
I give that look every time an NCO talks to me

I'm impressed.. you ran three Stripper clips in a row bear handed and didn't bleed.. Them suckers bite if your not careful..
I use a strip Lula to load my magazines since I don't like the "Speed loader" Spoon since your thumb will be screwed.
"I'm impressed.. you ran three Stripper clips in a row bear handed and didn't bleed.. Them suckers bite if your not careful.."
Notice how he turned the magazine so the spine was away from him (as was the stripper clip and spoon). If you make sure you have space between your thumb and the stripper clip and spoon, you shouldn't have a problem. Turn it around and you'll keep biting the fleshy part of your hand near the base of your thumb.
That’s why I like to push the rounds against something that doesn’t bleed.
Callous
~~( A HELPFUL TIP )~~ Load two tracer rds. in your mags first then top them off to 30 total if you are planning on using them soon. If you plan on storing your mags loaded, only load 28 rds. total. The tracers at the end of your mags will remind you to reload just as you run dry. Thanks for the info, please keep the good info flowing.
Appreciate it, thanks for commenting.
Why only load 28? To not stress the spring?
+Granville Higgins springs dont work that way. only real reason is its kinda hard to slam a mag home on an empty bolt with 30 in it but it really doesnt matter.
Yes, if you just down load buy one or two rds. it can add reliability if stored loaded for long periods, being longer than one year and up to 30 years or longer. Some manufactures have added a bit of length to the mag and use super high quality springs helping with long term storage problems.
That thought by itself sounds like a good idea, but Not too sure I want the enemy knowing I just ran out and need to reload. Has your technique been used in combat? First time I hear of this.
Man that is clever! A civilian learned something today.
The new style bandoleer has a feature the older style didn't have. Old bandoleers had 6 pockets containing two 10-round clips each, total of 120 rounds. But did not have the extra space to make the bandoleer a magazine holder after the removal of that loose string. That is a great idea. Plus the newer style having 4 pockets containing 3 each 10-round clips, totaling 120 rounds. Seems to take less space when slung over the shoulder. Plus the loose string/magazine holding capability. Wonderful idea. Things are getting better all the time.
The lids to all US ammo cans can be separated from main part of the ammo can. Completely open the lid. Slide the lid left to separate the lid from the main compartment. May have use a open and closing motion to get to separate. Works best when loading the M2 machine gun, .50-bmg. The gun mount has a holding tray for the ammo can. Removing the lid prevents the lid from bouncing around when on a moving vehicle. Reverse the process to put the lid back on the can.
The Vietnam era bandoleers are how you describe. They didn't have the "extra" space to open up to a 30-round length because they were the right length for a 20-round magazine which was standard when that bandoleer was standardized.
That's also why each (old) pocket held 2 10 round stripper clips (to fill said 20-round magazines).
@Travis Thacker :Taking the top off of most of the M-2a1 ammo cans is fairly self-explanatory. Just completely open the lid. Notice the two piece hinges connecting the lid to the main can. One part of the hinge is attached to the lid, the other side is attached to the main compartment. Push the lid toward the hinges that are on the lid. May need to open & close the lid to slide the hinges off the pins inside the hinges. Reverse the process to reattach the lid for later use.
The Russian ammo cans are great and last a long time. But once opened the can cannot be resealed. I've seen some decades old ammo from the Russian ammo cans. Never saw ruined ammunition from any Russian ammo can that was intact with an unbroken seal. Only problem was if there was any unused ammo there wasn't any way to reseal the original can.
The M-2a1 ammo cans can be reused until it completely falls apart. I think all NATO allies use the M-2a1 ammo can. Don't need to use bungee cords to keep the ammo can on a pedestal mount. There is a spring clamp on the ammo can shelf to keep the can from falling off. There was a similar clamp on the shelf fro the M-60 (7.62x51 NATO) pedestal mount. Just smaller than the M-2, .50-bmg.
Interesting. I only have the 6 pocket bandoleers. Didn’t know of the 4 or the string trick.
good stuff! don't forget to tell them to save that wooden ammo crate to make a shitter! and tapping the mag on their helmet to seat the rounds will make you look salty.
+Renaissance MarineTV everything has a use and be applied for something.
+Renaissance MarineTV Ha, man I was this close to mentioning that. For what ever reason it never made it into the video lol. An ammo crate with a Iso mat ring around the top is one of the most comfortable shitters there is!
but theres always some joker that gets it on the side.....
+Renaissance MarineTV lol, well in all honesty, towards the end of the invasion we all had dysentery (Which was promptly called "Saddam's revenge"). Getting stuff on the side could not be prevented in that situation.

I don’t know why but I like the thought that stripper clips still are well used...
These kids need to be shown these things there lives depend on it
Brent's right about newer Marines not getting trained in these techniques. I went through School of Infantry in 2013 and they didn't teach us any of this. I seem to recall the only hint we ever had regarding these mysterious stripper clips was from a student NCO(there were POG NCOs on their second term of enlistment going through SOI so they could become infantry) briefly describing their use to us privates. Now I can't decide which taught me more, SOI or Brent's videos.
By the way I don't mean the word POG as an insult. It literally just means personnel other than grunts to me.
I was a radio operator and I was shown how to use the stripper clips in Vietnam. I'm surprised 0300's don't know how to use a stripper clip especially during infantry training after boot camp. This is a failure of command even by your squad leader.
If anyone was wondering where you can get the Crates, stripper clips basically everything in this video, go to cleanammocans.com can get lots of good stuff really cheap
Keep it up brother! This also helps as a refresher for those of us that have been out a little while. Semper Fi!
+Jose Vazquez Glad I could help brother.
Great video. Lotta guys in the Army don't know how to make use of stripper clips, and hell, I've never seen a .30 cal can be used like you did. Great info.
Thanks brother.
This just showed up in my feed, I'm a vet, and this is exactly how I trained my guys. Amazing the amount of stupid I've seen over the years using these. We called the guides spoons btw. Different terminology.
Its unreal to me they don't teach that anymore. I was shown that day one at the range at fort Knox. Sad really what they sacrifice for speed.
There is no major war around. Why even hurry?
The irony in sacrificing speed for speed
Wait they dont teach em how to bump up mags anymore???
I may not be in or never was in the military, but there is one thing I believe - never throw out your stripper clips. Who knows, maybe the next supply of ammo will be just a pile of rounds in a bag.
What do you mean "may". You're either one or not, unless you're stolen valor or a deserter there is no need for "may".

Very interesting vid.
Had a buddy in the Irish Army who pointed out each infantryman carried a 100rd belt of 7.62 in a specific pouch to feed their machine gunner.
lol I always wondered why 5.56 came on strippers.
Most US rifle rounds since the .30-'06 or maybe the .30-40 Krag before that came in stripper clips. Other than the M1 (which used a different 8-round en bloc clip), most US rifles up until the M16 could be fed with stripper clips. The M14, for example, could be fed from a magazine (and had similar bandoleers with similar clips and similar speed loaders) but could also be directly loaded with stripper clips into the magazine with built-in stripper clip guides.
Todkaninchen thats why I always wondered. nothing in 5.56 has guides for strippers and I've never seen someone load a mag with them untill this video. now it all makes sense lol
I always just used another magazine to push the rounds down, that way i can let it run next to the clip for more leverage. Also doesn't cut my fingers.
Haha it's all basic info when you know it. Its all learned the hard way, or taught by those that know.
Think you saved lives by teaching the basics.

Is that an MG42 in the background by the AR?
Could also be an MG3.
Its actually a Yugo M53.
It's a gun, just a tool. An inanimate object. When you pull the trigger, it shoots at anything it is aimed at. Americans, Germans, Russians, Afghanis, deer, wild pigs, steel targets, whatever. The person that pulls the trigger is who decides what it shoots.
RammC RammC where did a Yugo M53 kill a lot of americans?
RammC RammC Wow you’re really stupid.
excellent use of the 556 bandoleers. I never knew they expanded. I used them to hold my cassettes for my Walkman
maybe you had the older ones for the 20 rounders, they didn't expand as the new ones and each pocket held only 2 10-rounds clips in six pockets (still for a total of 120 rounds)
Working in a support platoon for my unit, I'm quite familiar with ammo procedures and this equipment. Even so, I managed to learn some very useful information from this video. Thanks!
That's some really useful info to know. I am not a vet myself but many in my family are. We go shooting all the time, but no one has mentioned any of these to me. Next time I go out with any of them, I'm gonna tell them, they got some splainen to do, lol.
Thanks for your service and God Bless ya Sir.

Very good explanations. I remember that to tape the ammunition of the MG3, we had a kind of coffee mill type machine. GREETINGS
great job brother, in Czech army we use VZ58 rifles to load clips to mags very fast and you can engage right away. looking forward to see your video with VZ95 camo
+Michal Nozar Thats another reason I LOVE my Vz. 58!!! (OEF1, OIF 1&2)
+Michal Nozar That's good stuff brother.
+PathisNarrow definitely it's great rifle, personally I would go with round that make bigger hole so 7.62x39 specially if you will using it for self defence, sense intruder could be under narcotics
+Michal Nozar Dos the Czech army use a light coat of wax on their stripper clips to aid in feeding the rounds? I got some Czech BXN stripper clips from E-bay and they had a little wax on them, it made the rounds feed with half the force as uncoated Yugo surplus clips. It would be cool to know any tricks you may know about the VZ58. Love my VZ58.
Can you buy ammo in this configuration still or is it mostly military use?
You can find it on the civilian market as well.
+Brent0331 thanks, I'll have to check that out
Forge North check sgammo(dot)com.
Espically in russian ammo. 7.62x54r and 7.62x39 you can get in crates for a lot cheaper. Just remember with russian surplus it has corrisive primers so clean your weapon very well afterwards
I place floor plate on my chest and pull clips in towards my body they go right in Everytime
I strongly recommend MagLula speed loaders. Far easier to use then those spoons and not much heavier.
In addition, if you have the time available, it is good to pre-bend the tab on one side of each clip, which will make sliding the rounds off far easier. This also greatly extends the service life of clips if re-using them is a concern to you.
The Lula Strip loader is top notch! easy to use and fast as hell.
Aleksfoxtrot works on the mini 14 too!
The Maglula StripLULA is to stripper clip speed loaders, what gourmet dining is to an MRE.
The metal spoon-type speed loader that Uncle Sugar supplies is each ammo can is OK, but it’s easily bent and easy to booger up a mag with. The StripLULA is amazingly simple, smooth, and fast as a Corpsman at a gay bar.
The only time I recall speed loaders being explained in boot was when the drill sergeant explained it to me and 3 other guys who got stuck on mag loading duty one afternoon, none of the other guys learned about it as far as I know.
“Dang...”
That voice.... are you an operator with a tendency to utilize glockazines?
Me and my kids are so appreciative and respect the Men and Women like yourself that fought for the freedoms we take for granted everyday. So thank you Brent and God bless you and your family.
Appreciate it brother, thanks for the kind words.
Freedom of who?
Thanks Brett. Fascinating and informative even to those of us who are non military.
Great video, there are a lot of things not taught during initial training any more.
Far as I know, they dont even teach bayonet training any longer.
I did not expect to be fascinated by this video, but I was. I'd like to think I could've figured out the stripper clip bit, but I wouldn't have thought to pull the thread out to put full mags in, and I seriously doubt I would have thought of the safety pin if the strap was too long (I would have just tied a knot in it lol). Thank you for this!
That 18 min felt like 5, thank you for your time and info.
This is one basic skill, but it just goes to show our younger fighting force is less effective out of basic than it could be. it's getting worse the more we have to coddle the soft & weak (prizes for last place) One guy out of the fight trying to reload can mean the difference between going home or not. That's why training is so critical. Muscle memory is reflex, reflex is a life saver. Glad you are helping teach a simple but critical skills to our younger defenders.
Those speed loaders/spoons can be a bit tricky. About 5 years ago I was introduced to the StripLULA. You can load a 30rnd Mag in about 30 seconds or less. I keep one in my kit. They are not that expensive either. Just an FYI... Also good vid thank you...
spacedredd
Mine works with AR, and Mini 14 mags.
The Iraq war should have never happened
You mean we can’t just get a kill streak and have a plane come over and parachute a case in that beeps while it’s coming down..... awww shucks Gunny”...
Thanks for the video....................................... & THUMBS UP :D
The Marine Corps and Army here in the Philippines are using the same weapons and ammunition as the Americans. This video will educate Filipino civilians here so that we won't be clueless in case we are called to arms.
Awesome Brent. I never new that the thread was removable. The strippers are so awesome that everything I have is on them.
Valgear, basically your Eastern equivalent, showed in his Ak74 resupply video that with ak stripper clips you want to use the top bullet to push down to feed them in
I remember the blisters from spending all day reloading and handing out mags on range days.
Great video. I finally found a kit with the bandolier, ammo boxes, stripper clips and speed loader. Sure makes reloading easier. Thanks.
Nice.
Thats interesting to see how when things go to shit and you need more ammo its cloth bandoliers and cardboard boxes lol Great video, loved the information. I have been using 5.56 stripper clips and guides to cut down on range time but I honestly did not know they where still in use.
A tad long winded, but great video. I had no clue about the white string. Once again great video.
Thanks
Am I the only one that can see his head and not his body 🧐🤔
Great presentation. I’m a civilian however any information like this is fantastic. No one can foretell the future. Knowledge is power.
If the Democrats have their way. You will be a refugee ruining from isis or terrorist groups rather than standing your ground.
So basically if you played bf1 you know how to use stripper clips
So for simplicity sake. Push it down the same way you would a mosin clip?
My old Battalion Commander would give you an Article 15 for having your BDU tailor fit to your torso like that haha.
The BDU was meant to break up the shape of the human body. When we first were transitioning from our old OD
Green Fatigues to the Woodlawn pattern BDU uniform in West Germany in the 1980's our Bn Commander had to put out a
directive that the next person he caught wearing starched and ironed BDU uniform would be getting an Article 15.
I thought it was the military not a fashion contest ,
@Steve Campbell What with starch , creases and taliored bdu's ? . An army is supposed to be just that a fighting force not to look pretty
@Steve Campbell it was still the cold war , training etc I guess I expect more . I served 1987 to 1992 , I hated the bullshit on base and uniform inspection's daily just the petty bullshit
@Steve Campbell Yes Steve, there was a time when most everyone gave a bit more care to their appearance when they went out in public.
Would you believe back in the early 2000's when I lived in Houston, Tx we had a bank robbed about a block from my computer repair shop on Hwy 6N and the woman who robbed it was wearing baggy gym clothes and a shower cap.
I mean really.....if you are going to rob a bank at least dress nice.
@Steve Campbell Of course one gets dirty at work , but will all that matter on the battle field
Thanks for the vid. I actually was wondering about how ammo resupply worked having never been in the military myself. I just like military history and what not.
One of the things I'm looking to design is an impact resistant pack that can hold pre-loaded M4 magazines in addition to pre-prepared ammunition.
Taking feedback from my late father who served in 5th Special Forces Vietnam and was also a Korean war vet as well as my older cousin who was with first air cavalry Gunship pilot during the Vietnam conflict. Plus my own personal experience with ammo resupply during a firefight. Time is a valuable commodity.....
The battle of Fallujah is a key example of the need for my design. Not only ammo but hydration and medical gear, MRE's
This is needed for our Military
Any progress?
@@tastychunks I may have found a solution still in the testing phase. But so far everything's working as designed. May have military applications for stranded troops during a battle.
Just gotta love the Military. One item, multiple possible uses. So well thought out.
Strap in the can. I can’t believe I’ve never seen that before!!
Learn something new every day!!
THAT RHODESIAN BRUSHSTROKE AR. NICE.
"and what not"
-Brent0331
Im not gonna lie, this stuff makes kinda anxious like im about to go out there and fight
real talk I love those USGI bandoliers, one of the best ammo carrying methods IMHO.
Speed loading wasn’t taught in basic (2009) but once I got to my first unit we had to help out at a range and learned how to do it.
What a fucking boss this guy is.
I had used the strippers and speedloader when I was in the Army, but I never knew until now about pulling the thread out of bandolier to have extra mag pouches or using the strap in the MG ammo can. Good info
Not gonna lie, I HATE being ammo detail for M4 ranges because loading rounds into mags with the speed loaders is a pain, not too sure if the cold Alaskan winters have any affect on the cheap metal but I mainly just use a personal speed loader I bought to feed with the clips and it worked, but hey at least I learned something I can teach to my soldiers.
Kilroy the Alaska winter will make everything different... I did 4 years in wainwright and the range was the best and worst detail depending on where it was and how cold it was... even the sound seems different at -45
I've never understood why ammo is still being packaged into bandoliers. The US military hasn't actually used them since what? Korea or Vietnam?? I learned about how to use them for full mags a long time ago but in my 15 years I have never once seen anyone do it. I know the government is horrible about unnecessary waste but just imagine the asinine amount of money wasted on making those when 99% of service members just toss them out immediately
Thank you, sir, for sharing this information for us civilians that wish to preserve our liberty. It is men like you that make this country and this world a safer place and better place. God bless you.
Thanks brother.
