Thanks Brent. No one else on UA-cam provides such informative and comprehensive videos on small unit tactics and such. Keep up the good work. I appreciate you sharing your knowledge with us
I study sniping and small team tactics as a hobby, I want to thank you for taking the time for making the film and send my thanks to your staff who were involved in the film, Seeing a demonstration gives more knowledge, than just talk.
@OP Me too, and I couldn’t agree more. You’re an awesome resource and presenter, Brent. But having a change of face & voice/presentation style is great. Many thanks to your friends and colleagues for their time and willingness to contribute to some of the best content of its type on YT.
Sigh, this video makes me feel old. I spent my time humping an M-60. Sure the Pig had it's problems, but I can say pumping 7.62's downrange made up for it. Especially the times we set the range on fire. I'm glad you newer guys in the military (all branches) are getting lighter weapons, but some days I wish ya had what we had not that many years ago. Mind you Brent, I'd have loved to have had the M1 and the 105 howitzer my dad had in WW2. I hope that you will want your kids or younger Marines or soldiers to have the chance to use what you had. As always, excellent vid. Essayons!
Ha I hear you brother. Even the weapons I came into the Marine Corps are no longer used for the most part. We used an M240G, M16A2, and M249. Now all three of those weapons have been essentially phased out in the Marine Corps. Even the M16A4 is being replaced now.
Loved the Pig. When I got outta jump school, I was so skinny that my Platoon Sergeant told me to carry the Pig on jumps, 'cause he didn't think I weighed enough to open the chute.
I know your videos are oriented toward professional soldiers, but I think this sort of thing is very valuable for giving the general citizenry a good crash course if we are ever conscripted, or have some sort of Red Dawn type situation. Our public (me included) has a lot of rifles, but little knowledge and far less skill. History shows that most of us wouldn't have time to learn if we needed to. Your instruction is clear and I am sure you've saved the lives of many people who are deployed too soon by passing on knowledge less thorough leaders have failed to do. I think if there are one or two guys who are paying attention, their observation and care can protect their whole squad from simple negligence. I have no doubt that those guys are looking for information like you provide, and are passing that knowledge on. I'm sure other trainers are learning how to train from you as well. Thanks for doing this.
Another good video. Again refresher for me. Thanks for this my brother. " Remember boys and girls once you pull the pin on Mr. Grenade, Mr. Grenade is no longer your friend"
Currently an infantry team leader. This is an excellent resource that my guys use to stay sharp and I use it with my new guys so they can see hands-on what this stuff looks like when we lack the field time. Appreciate it!
We all know Brent and his crew are NOT Shills... Here's why. With all the previous FF attacks and CA's being directed by film industry hopefuls...they ALWAYS leave out critical details when making up stories and spinning them to the citizenry. Basically a lack of life experience and practical knowledge expose the lack of nuance we generally see in REAL circumstances. To sum it all up....here's the proof this crews productions are authentic... Camera lens cap BANGING around, during filming. I have no military experience other than working at a surplus store as a youngster. I can tell you an item description if you read me the serial number (from the 50's-80's ) and that's the extent of my tactical knowledge.. I grew up playing paintball... also airsoft with my son few years back and now I'm old. The fact that these guys take the initiative to produce a video in such a hands on, practical manner....is of serious note. For all you young guys reading the comments and thinking this team has too much time on their hands, and are just too gung ho about MIL-SPEC theatre play... Well, they're not. These men have families..jobs..domestic responsibilities...they obviously have better things to worry about, than entertaining people on the internet. It is my sincerest hope that everyone seeing this upload, considers the reality infused within. These men are helping to send a message ... a very serious one.
The most effective use of two Ksp 58 (aka. FN MAG/M240) I've experienced was in a double sided exercise where my platoon was to clear the second half bottom floor of a two story office building and Another platoon had already cleared the top by the entry Point stairwell while we had cleared the first half and secured the central stairwell. My PC had placed the two MGs prone on either corner of the far half's central corridor and then had them frog-leap eachother while the rest of the platoon cleared the office rooms to either side of the corridor, two parallell rooms at a time. When we got to the end, all of the OP-for was claiming it was unfair to have two MGs covering a corridor like that as they couldn't even poke their heads out to see what was coming without getting a huge dual muzzle flash in the face... My country's military use 7.62x51 wood bulleted blanks that desintegrate against a muzzle device in a way that on the MGs create a 3x3x3ft sawdust cloud that's immediately ignited by the actual muzzle flash of the blanks. Quite the spectacular display in a half-lit enclosed corridor without much of windows to let in other light! XD
Sounds like the time we got drunk and burned the hooch down with a bunch of claymores under my rack Unass the area every man for himself but don't spill your Bud
This is some awesome information for aspiring 11A's. It is awesome to get information like this from someone that has been there and done that.Thank you Brent, much appreciated.
Have a reference map for your artillery and let your infantry do the mercy killing and the medics for intelligence gathering. All jokes apart the guy with the map, binoculars and the radio is the asset.
Observe bird activity in some areas to know if someone else is around. Birds and even deer move downwind from predators. Man ( the enemy) is a predator. Indian knowledge
Glad I found this channel because its painfully obvious the SHF soon and us civilians need to learn basic battle skills to survive, than you for your content and God bless you guys and God bless America!
Got to love how you use relatively common language and easily/broadly applicable examples in these videos. It makes these videos easily understandable to average people and a great resource for learning for milsim.
21:40 I've seen a guy get tape wrapped on a hand grenade stick to his sleeve upon throwing. He made it (it wasn't a frag), but got some pretty serious injuries. Do NOT wrap tape on a hand grenade unless you know you won't be throwing it later.
Excellent start point. We in the Royal NZ Infantry Regiment (RNZIR) employ further refinements and SOP from combat lessons that we learned from Malaysian Counter Insurgency Emergency and Vietnam from Operations conducted by both NZ and the Australian Infantry Regiment( with NZ SAS). Lessons NEVER change but personnel rotate through with time. Keep up the good work.
another great video man . thank you for making these. they're very informative. I really look forward to your videos . this type and the camo effectiveness ate my faves.
Army vet here. Wish this resource was available during my enlistment. Small unit tactics were taught in a fast, couple shots no kill confusing training environment. I hope servicemembers today (I'm thinking junior NCOs as well as section chiefs) will stuff their pride and utilize your channel as a training aid. Outstanding job.
Just as I recommend your channel to a young marine that just started out at camp Pendleton, you drop this gem of a video. When you asked that dumbass in the comment section if he had the x files music playing as he typed, had me deaddd😂😂
Not a soldier but as someone that really enjoy studying things military related, this video gives great insight in to small unit tactics that isn't frequently discussed in depth. 16:22 is just brilliant, simple but effective. Keep up the good work.
Could you make a film about Guerrilla Sniping? There have been some films posted, but I'm still looking for information. About how was it done then and how is it done now. During the Vietnam War the N.V.A and Vietcong worked side by side and during WWII, Partisans and Allied Commandos worked together in occupied territory. How would a Guerrilla Sniper aid a Conventional Military if they were both fighting for the same cause, how could you counter an enemy Guerrilla sniper, how and would they work with a team, their group/ cell or partner (Spotter), how would they operate if they're alone? Seeing your previous films on enemy weapons, equipment, and cameo clothing. made me think. And I wonder what would the sniper or team use in operations if they are not being supported by conventional forces. If they and their group was being supported, would it be wise if they used enemy weapons, ( being in hostile areas controlled by the enemy they could savage ammunition and weapon parts off the enemy dead). Some of the bolt action rifles and soviet sniper rifles you had in your films, how would they be modified for long range ambushes? would the sniper be used for intelligence gathering as well, would they use drones you could find on the Civilian market as part of their equipment? What weaponry would they carry and deploy in a rural or urban environment. If you were a Guerrilla Sniper what cameo would you wear, what web-gear and pack would you use. What rifle would be your chose and sidearm. Chose of ordnance, how would a sniper work with a patrol or a platoon? What T.T.P & R.O.E would you use and what would an enemy Guerrilla Sniper's T.T.P be Knowledge and Wisdom is power, best thing to do is ask someone who knows and you seem to have it.
Thank you so much for making these videos. It's really great to be able to watch your videos for substantive discussions of the infantryman's concerns. Please continue.
Thank you for making these videos. You truly have an incredible wealth of wisdom and knowledge; worth it’s weight in gold. I’m sure I can’t even imagine all of the time and effort that goes in to these videos so I’ll just say that I sincerely appreciate the effort.
Loggered for the night-360 security- OP/LP's out 50 meters with como wire & a TA 1. Claymores set, trip flares armed- every other man eat & clean weapon - noise & light discipline. and a .............Mandatory Meeting at the NCO Club at 18:00 hrs. :P "Scouts OUT!"
One thing that was missed was diagramming your mines and booby traps. Its always good to have a map of were you put your mines and traps so that friendlies don't walk into them or if you have to turn your position over to some one else. Great video I have enjoyed watching them all.
In finland🇫🇮⚔⚔⚔we have rk-62 and rk-95 and skuad hawe allso pkm light mashine gun cal 7,62 -54 RK-62 and RK95 is 7,62-39.. best ak variant🇫🇮⚔⚔⚔🏴☠️like galil too!!..
Finland also had one of the greatest snipers in history. During the Winter War he made 500+ kills in less than a year, I believe. Used a bolt action rifle and open sights.
Just wanted to add, for anyone checking this out more recently, Usmc infantry tactics and equipment are being upgraded. You would be hard pressed to find 03XX without an RCO. In addition, new DMR rifles are being built out of the already in use M27. Semper
Your going set up mines out there on the OP .I develope a technique were I pretreat my fatigues with bug spray in and out , shirts, socks , hat, gloves everything so not even snakes want to crawl up next to me . Tics , with all sorts of virus stay off of you . Line deases stays of you .I just practised a form of counter Bio warfare.

these skilled brave men defending our country when they don't realize we've already been defeated from the inside, without active fighting yet. Hopefully when the time comes they will pick the correct team to be on, and fight the real enemy.
Thank you! A Cannoneer in the 80s here. I think all combat arms should take a version of your course. I mean Armor, Artillery, Air-defense Artillery, Comat Engineers, etc. Maybe the rear eschelons units serving the aforementioned units.
Considering the crazy times we are living in , this great information is invaluable. I have seen some of these comments from months ago before this Chinese flu came and just like this pandemic , we better get prepared for the unexpected because all of a sudden something crazy might happen. Thank you for creating these great videos.
I thought that it might be something of that nature...these should be mandatory viewing in Infantry School...wish I had learned some of this back in the day... No doubt you're saving Marines...Semper Fi...
Originally stumbled across your videos looking for more information on Strichtarn and Belgian Jigsaw camo. The more I see the more I'm impressed. You obviously put a lot of work into your videos. Really enjoying your vids, you've quickly become one of my favourite channels! Keep up the good work!
Most people have a tendency to sight the claymore high. When it goes off it tends to kick back and up a touch.so tilt it slightly forward to maximize the effect.
Great video Brent! Could you by chance do a spin off on what you think a team or squad size element should be equipped with that is actually accessible to civilians? Also do you feel like the Corps has lost the art of camouflage? it doesn't seem to be as emphasized as one would think
My videos are oriented toward infantryman, I don't want to deviate from that. I do think the U.S. Military as a whole does not emphasize camouflaging techniques as much as they should. That is not a good thing, Guys are becoming too depended on technology. I went and trained with the British Royal Marines a couple months ago. Before we left the wire on every patrol, camouflage face paint was reapplied and fresh vegetation was added to your kevlar.
It's pretty much the same except no belt feds or explosives. Unless you wanna spend 40k on a transferable MG and make improvised explosives. Ahhh the great communist states of America where only the rich are allowed to defend themselves properly per the constitution.
Damn it. I went to my local gun store and they didn't even have a belt fed machine gun for me to buy. Sorry, being sarcastic but if one becomes available I will use your recommendations. Thanks.
Judoka I'm not 100% sure on this but the military would probably prefer if you stuck to what's on their training manuals rather than get "training scars" from other people. This video actually has nothing wrong with it, but youtube isn't exactly a trusted source and this kind of material can get outdated if the military changes doctrine.
Great video. Informative, to the point and the live action examples really help you understand it better. Plus the end looked like it was a good laugh to film
what is the correct way of using the molle 2 ruck and assault pack and the but pack . using them together in a full load out mission and the purpose of each.thanks and have a nice day
You have 2 loads to carry: you fighting load and you sustainment load. Your fighting load is going to be what you would need in a fire fight: extra ammo, tactical gear, water, food if the mission is long enough, ect. You sustainment load is the extra clothing and gear that you dont necessarily need on a specific mission/fire fight but will need in order to survive in the field. For the most part, you will carry your fighting load with the LBV/TAP/body armor and the assualt pack, while your sustainment load will be carried utilizing the ruck sack. That being said, depending on the situation, mission, and your role, there may be times that you use the assualt pack for sustainment or the ruck sack for fighting. Ultimately, how you utilize them depends on the mission, your job, your preferences, and unit SOP
+Tomas Ramirez You can google any Army or Marine Corps pub out there and find it in a pdf form. Ussually available from a .mil website. This is basic stuff, nothing is secret here.
I'm watching this in early september. Nice and cool out, windows open. Brent's TX cricket got a WV cricket outside my window all worked up. I had to pause it to figure out what was happening.
Nope, the m27 replaced the SAW. The m27 offers several advantages over the SAW, primarily it being lighter and more maneuverable, and the ability to fire in semi auto. Overall, the m27 fits the mission of the USMC rifle squad much better than the SAW. Accurate fire will always be more effective than volume of fire. And the m27 allows for accurate high volume fire.

Brent you'r content is awesome thank you so much! But aren't you scared of showing this. These are some serious army tactics aren't you scared that this information might come to the worng eyes in case lets says domestic cults or terrorist groups? Some dangerous individual groups could youse this knowledge to cause harm to other civilians.
This is all basic infantry stuff, nothing I'm showing here is a national secret or anything. U.S. Military manuals are free to download in a PDF file from .MIL websites.
You know what this video also taught me? The importance of flash hiders. When I would lose the attacking force in the brush I'd find them again with every muzzle flash lol

Thanks brother, I appreciate you guys watching.
Brent0331 Texas!!! I knew it. New sub here, thanks for great info. Keep it up Marine.

@OP Me too, and I couldn’t agree more. You’re an awesome resource and presenter, Brent. But having a change of face & voice/presentation style is great. Many thanks to your friends and colleagues for their time and willingness to contribute to some of the best content of its type on YT.
dude I'm so glad you take time to do this awesome educational bad ass videos
Thanks brother, I greatly appreciate the support.
So as a old broken guy, in sure I'm only fit for "home guard" , so this is really good info for me in this day and age.
You ain't broke till your dead!
Amen brother I hear the m-60 was ass I’m a 240 gunner thank god I have the new Lima though
Loved the Pig. When I got outta jump school, I was so skinny that my Platoon Sergeant told me to carry the Pig on jumps, 'cause he didn't think I weighed enough to open the chute.

Being a former 31 this knowledge is CRUCIAL for retaining knowledge, keep it up SSGT, Rah
Thanks brother, I appreciate the kind words.
Definitely going to use these videos to keep up on skills in the National Guard and ROTC.
Good deal.
XD

What T.T.P & R.O.E would you use and what would an enemy Guerrilla Sniper's T.T.P be
Knowledge and Wisdom is power, best thing to do is ask someone who knows and you seem to have it.

One thing that was missed was diagramming your mines and booby traps. Its always good to have a map of were you put your mines and traps so that friendlies don't walk into them or if you have to turn your position over to some one else. Great video I have enjoyed watching them all.

+Judoka that argument is a non-starter because infantrymen get taught what they need to know in their service, not youtube.
Training can always be supplemented.
Man it was fun to film the OPFOR portion.
what is the correct way of using the molle 2 ruck and assault pack and the but pack . using them together in a full load out mission and the purpose of each.thanks and have a nice day
You have 2 loads to carry: you fighting load and you sustainment load.
So much opsec... as an infantryman I love your videos just still. Anyone/ everyone has access to these videos... including our enemies..

damn your camera clicks allot...
this series is great
Don't you mean the M27 is to supplement the M249!
There're M249's still in unit's armories but the primary issued weapon to an automatic rifleman in the Marine Corps now is the M27 IAR.
Awesome video as always, you can tell there was some dedicated time and effort spent on this, thank you!

It is far more dangerous for the government to have a monopoly on this information, as with weapons.
