How Much Ammo is Enough For SHTF?

- SHTF just happened, how much ammo do you have put away? I’ll explain my method for reserve and practice ammo, it works great for me but maybe it’s not for everyone. In the “big picture” of things ammo and firearms are just scratching the surface for preparation of SHTF or collapse of society.

You should be on the Homeland Security list...it's your money buddy, do you what you with it. But, you have a problem...just saying.
That’s laughable, it’s called freedom you better exercise it while we still have it.
Funny, I was kinda thinking people such as yourself who want those who prepare for what is SURE to come, would be on a real governments watch list.
You’ll be shafting yourself when you see other UA-camrs that have WAAAAY more ammo 😂. Don’t hate that we enjoy our freedom
Agreed! Thanks for watching
@@billieunderwood8303 So democrat, you choose not to prepare and think that people who stock up on ammo should be on a government watch list? That's is such a democrat way of thinking.
Here’s a tip when stockpiling ammo…. Make sure your subfloor can handle the weight. I quit stockpiling a few years ago and I now focus on staying in shape. I suggest people gear up and hustle up a hill… if you couldn’t make it do it until you can. I had a huge reality check two hunting seasons ago. I’m definitely not a spring chicken anymore and If it hit the fan that day I would be telling people to leave me behind. I go hiking 2-4 times a month now rain or shine.
awesome plan for sure, I built a header system out of 2x6's sandwiched together with a floor jack and got that set up right under the safe.
I'm walking my dog about a thousand miles a year, 90% of that with a 25 pound pack. Also work the garden, trim the grape vines, plant fruit trees, and keep busy.
Rule number one of gun club don't tell people how much ammo you have 😂😂😂
Yes, I have no friends anyways 🤣🤣
@Georgia4Low and looks you will never have one... Enjoy your life, man! Russians are not here... yet 😂

Best Ammo Calibers for SHTF?
ua-cam.com/video/GoqCi_ieADg/v-deo.html
Whatever you can afford buy all you can
Facts
I never discuss with ANYONE, even family, what ammo, or weapons i possess. But after multiple combat tours, i can tell you without reservation, that a fifteen minute firefight with multiple targets will cost you between 200 to 300 rounds, if you survive it. If you dont, it wont matter. Hesitation, conscience and fear will ensure your demise.
When the lights go out it would be best to avoid people and fire fights at all possible.
My team will be here on the farm when SHTF. We will have no less than two guards on duty 24/7. If one person comes on the farm when there are plenty of signs telling them not to or a gang comes by, we will take care of any problems.
I e been doing the same now for the last 4 years really starting to build up. Great video.
Thanks for watching. I started 3 years ago and yes it really starts stacking up quicker than you think.
Most retirees would not survive a serious firefight. It’s just the t ruth. we are not as quick as we use to be.
This old man is rucking a 25 pound pack daily for about a thousand miles a year. Also work in the garden, take care of the fruit trees, berry bushes and grape vine. I've got enough ammo to spare in a crisis to supply some of the militia.
I live in a quiet little redneck town. There are lots of towns like this. We have gardens, people that can food and bake. Some have chickens, goats, sheep, cattle, milk cows. We have fruit trees, grape vines, wells, a great school system. This town is not only worth defending, but in town we've got about four guns and a combined 500-1,000 rounds for every man, woman in child in town. Say the word and the unofficial militia will share refrigeration, take care of our sick, block roads , patrol paths because we already do things like that.
To those who say I'll take ammo from preppers, thanks for the comedy. We got a laugh from that.
Best advice from this video: you don’t have to buy it all at once. I also just accumulate it bit by bit, when on sale, etc.. it does stack up after a while.
Agreed, been using this method for 4 years now. Thanks for watching
Interesting to finally see someone else's full setup! ...Thanks for your thoughts on the topic 4Low
Thank you.
Honestly buy as much as you can afford.
That’s what we do. Thanks for watching
2:37 get a 10 brick bulk order, here in Sweden it’s very common (among us shooters) to have orders of a couple thousand rounds (of whatever ammo we need) and 5 000 rounds of .22 is only like 500$. Great video G. Trying to get to the states instead of living here that’s for sure!

@@Georgia4Low keep stacking brother
I will!! Thanks
If you own a .22 you have no excuse for not having a thousand rounds on hand at all times. Ten thousand is still cheap insurance!👍🇺🇸
I'm close to a 1,000rds now since the video was posted, just never really done much .22 shooting but understand it's uses.
@@Georgia4LowI have a Ruger 10/22, and it is my favorite gun to shoot. I highly recommend it, I have so much fun for a fraction of the price of shooting my shotgun or AR. 22lr is an incredible value!
@@James-Johnson313 I hear you on that. I lucked out and got one from an F class winner, it's capable of outshooting my capabilities.
22LR is a much unappreciated round. Humans are soft targets. They are effective at 200 yards. That is farther than most people can effectively shoot.
Considering the year that my wife and I shot close to 9,000 rounds, and our ages, then lets project,
For a two year long shortage, 20,000 rounds,
For the fall of civilization and ammo is not sold again for 800 years, we will need 20,000 rounds. Because at that point we will conserve.
What do we have? about 10,000 rounds and reloading components for another 8,000 rounds. Includes 20 ga bird, buck and slug, 410 bird and buck , 9mm, 380, 5.56, 17 HNR , 22 Mag, 22LR, 22 short, 22lr shotshell, 22 mag shotshell, components for all the centerfire except 20 gauge slugs. Oh, for .17 air rifle 2,000 BB's and 500 pellets.
Precious metals, lead, brass and steel!
What a lot of people don't stock up on is the small springs and pins that run their firearms.
thanks for watching, I have started buying replacement parts for the AR's already.
I'm thinking "I'll" never have "Enough".
Many say, minimum 1,000 rds per cal.
"I" think, minimum, 1,000 rds per "Gun".
But I would actually be more comfortable with 10,000 rds for my primary rifles and 5-6,000 rds for primary pistols.
there is no real right answer just do what you think works best for you.
1000 rounds per caliber? no way. like you said you would be more comfortable with 10k each that is my minimum then go from there
You gotta get more 22. Remember the last shortage? We all never thought it could happen, yet there we were. Scalpers on Armslist and all. Buy a brick next paycheck.
yes indeed, I've added more .22LR since the video but will likely but one of those big buckets next.
Wrong question. The one who correctly figures out where to hunker down will need very little, enough to hunt. The one who hunkers down in suburbia with hungry neighbors can never have enough and will almost certainly die.
Understand your point. Thanks for watching
I’m currently in suburbia but will quickly get out of dodge at the first sign of issues. Hopefully I will be ahead of most of that crowd.
I shoot out of my ammo cans and stock cases of ammo, lol. Exact opposite of you. I have 5 cases of 9mm, 5 cases of 5.56, 3000 rounds of 00, #4 and #1 buck shot and a few hundred slugs. Every time I open a case for training purposes , I replace it on the same day. Ive been doing that for about 10 years now and its just working. I shoot a lot....I shoot 1000 rounds of 9mm and 1000 rounds of 5.56 a month. Ammo isnt worth a damn if you dont know how to shoot.. Damn sure gotta do something though....if something happens to me, my peeps are in decent shape.
We do the same each week, also headed to go shoot we always grab more ammo on the way to typically replace what we shoot.
the answer is however much you can carry in a hurry up and get out situation... you can always go ammo hunting when you get to a safe place... but i wouldnt keep a stockpile for the next guy in the house
Some people don't have enough and others have to much. If things come to shooting our way out of this mess you don't have enough. You can only servive so many shootouts, depending on how lucky you are. I am more stocking for my kids snd grsndkids. They will need it unfortunately.
same here, I truly believe my adult kids and future grandkids will need these weapons and ammo at some point. I keep buying for them and myself lol as I enjoy guns anyways.
Great video on your organization of ammo based on reserves and necessity. Haven’t thought of permanent reserves kept separate from range ammo. And for the people that can’t seem to grasp the concept of true freedom, you can do whatever the hell you want as long as you don’t tread on other people rights. You simply cannot be over prepared. When SHTF people can become desperate and irrational. Especially when considering gangs, homelessness and those who arent prepared, desperate times calls for desperate measures when people will eventually want what you have(security, food, shelter). Better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it. One final note is with that much ammo, YOU can be the reason the people beside you are armed to protect themselves and those around them.
totally agree and thanks for watching
Do you plan to hunker down? If you have to relocate and or reposition are you prepared and capable to move that inventory along with your other sustainables and extra parts incase you need to make a repair
I think that's a good inventory I like the way you built it up just keep in mind a situation may come to where you have to bug out possibly on foot, just giving something to think about.
For where we live the thought would be to fortify the house. But that could change obviously for sure, you make a good point.
I definitely plan to hunker down. But if you are bugging out I think you need a plan. Know where you are going, who you are meeting there. And most importantly, what you bring to the table to allow whoever you are going to stay with to allow you to do so. Come as a resource, not a liability. Bring fuel (gas, propane), ammo, guns, food, generators, solar generators, solar panels, water. Things that make you an asset to be around.
I've had conversations with our small town mayor about the state of civilization. He knows he has a militia of at least 200 well armed men and older teens with dozens of veterans, active duty and reserve military. We probably have fifteen to twenty five hundred guns in town and an estimated one to two million rounds of ammo. Sure, a bunch of that is 22 ammo and guns, but it is good for training and emergency.
Yes, a very redneck town. we also have lots of gardens, chickens, even some goats, cattle and sheep in the area. And it isn't all agriculture in town, we have plumbers, electricians, doctors, lawyers, dentists, pharmacies, and so on. Our high school is in the top ten in the state and the top 1,000 nationally. This town could do pretty well in a long term crisis.
Totally agree! Thanks
Sounds like the town could survive SHTF.
I don't stockpile ammo for SHTF, I stockpile ammo to shoot. There have been years where the wife and I have gone through over 12,000 rounds. Now that we are retired there's not as much need to blow off steam, so we have been averaging about 3-5,000 rounds a year.
Still, with another bad year to find ammo that could start any time I don't mind having 10k in stock and components for most of another 10k. This includes 22lr, 22 mag, 17 HMR, 9mm, 380, 5.56, 410 gauge and 20 gauge.
Reloading is the way to go if you have time and shooting is a hobby in the family.
The weather is getting better, I'm going to assemble my new clay thrower this week. That means I'll be reloading shotshells by next weekend.
Sounds like a solid plan, thanks for watching
The answer is a minimum of 1k per toy, plus additional for play time, also, People, stop commenting about what you have and how much of it and stop posting/showing pics, when they finally decided to come for it they’ll know just where to find it/ you.
People having insane round counts for 5-6 different calibers is weird. If youre duty guns are 5.56/9mm stock those. Unless youre carrying all of them around with you. Your home is your castle, but living alone waiting to die last is no way to live. Best invest in things that make your community stronger. And if you ever have to be displaced, your problems compound. I keep about 8-10 loaded 5.56 mags and have three for my .300 Blk. Rest is 9mm. Best get real damned good with one or two rifles and one or two pistols. Id rather have a strong community that can rebuild, then 10,000 rounds and eating MREs till I die last
10 boxes of 12 gauge. 1000 rounds of 9mm 5000 rounds 22l.r. Katana machete bowie knife. Stock up on flash bangs. Flare gun. A good idea too.
thanks for watching
I stopped believing in love, until I saw your collection
lol, come on man!! Thanks for watching
My main two are 9mm and 308. I have decent amount of .44 magnum and im working on increasing the amount of 12 gauge I have. 308 is the most difficult to stock pile of the 4, as its the most expensive (best bet is 7.62x51 M80 Ball for the most "bang for your buck"). Nice thing about it is you have everything from M80 ball to tons of different hunting rounds, to HPBT/OTM precision rounds, to defensive rounds (Horndady Critical Defense, Speer Personal Defense), subsonic rounds, copper solids, brass solids, and all the way up to AP, API, and EPR rounds. In my opinion 308 is hands down the most versatile rifle cartridge as it has the most bullet types available.
How Much Ammo is Enough??
Yes. Yes is the answer.
Thanks for watching
My comfort level MINIMUM is 5-7000 per caliber... 10000 is the goal... Again that is per caliber... I also like having 5- 7 magazines per firearm minimum, for handguns, and about 21 for AR platform rifles...
Needless to say, I feel that the hour is late, for those who haven't been stocking up before now.
@johnlacasse8893 yes that window is closing. Thanks for watching
Ans : Not enough
There will be people you love, fellow veterans who have bled for this flag, who may not have had your foresight. If you care about them, and you want someone to watch your six, you will share. The moral of the story is that you can never, never have enough ammo.
Gotta have people, that pulls together resources and skills. Thanks for watching
As much ammo as I can humanly afford is nice, but I try to keep back enough ammo for each gun I have (or caliber) to have a full combat load X2. That means 14 mags for 5.56, 5.45 and 7.62x39 guns. 22 mags for my 308 20 rounder Battle Rifles. That's for reserves. Everything else is range ammo.
I'm starting my cache. Plate carrier, helmet, food, water, medical equipment, gun, extra mags extra ammo. All that needs to be carried while on the move during SHTF. So how much to store if your expected to be on the move
at the moment where we live fortifying our hose is best case, but there are lots of unknows as well.
I love your safe set up man! Very organized and I love the flag in the back

Never enough!!
Buying weekly / monthly is a good plan. But, I really only buy in bulk, and keep some long term . I buy online, usually in the Spring. For 22, whatever your favorite is, you can usually get bricks of 5000, like ten boxes of 500. Great for gifts or sharing, or have someone chip in.
Thanks for watching
My favorite site always sends me flyers. When bulk 1,000 round ammo goes down to a price I can't turn down I buy another. Throw it in a green can, empty the boxes in there, then cut 1 box up and tape the top to the side of the can. So I can look a brand, caliber, and power (whether its 115, 124, or something else) without having to open or move things around. Makes it simpler for inventory.
I like your method.
As much as you can if you’re staying out. I just grab a box or two every week along with a mag or two every other week and before you know it you’ve got more than enough but don’t stop. Keep getting it😂 training regularly will run through it like water
same weekly game plan here.
I won't critique others' prep load outs, but I keep most of what you have. The biggest difference is I keep a load out for two long-distance bolt action for both hunting and defense. We live in the mountains, and I think being able to engage potential threats out beyond 600 yards is a priority and keep 6.5 Creedmoor and 22LR (mostly varmint hunting for 22) in bulk for that reason
Very solid plan!!
I think you should bear in mind how much ammo you need for practice, hunting and actual combat. Self Defense ammo is the one that will be used the least.
I agree. Thanks for watching
Self defense ammo is only for home defense, if you have to evacuate, fmj all the way because at that point, why do you care if it goes thru them ?
All for nothing if you don’t train, learn to remain calm during stressful moments, or have negotiation skills. Lots of dudes stockpile ammo like they’re going to shoot everyone they see lol that’s not how you survive
Totally agree.
@@Georgia4Low and comment wasn’t directed towards you, just in general
We all good man!!
How much ammo do you need? About 50% more than you have.

In the USMC a grunt usually has 6 30 round clips, maybe a extra 1. As a SAW gunner in Somalia I carried about 1000 on me. Today in a quiet country town in Upstate NY just a few hundred on hand. If needed and I survive a fire fight I'll collect up from fallen, if not I won't leave a supply a small militia or troops. Pray it isn't needed and keep enough if it is. 5.56 & 9mm are common ones military uses.
I was a 0844 we used bigger ones towed behind 5tons 198 & 105's. Small arms qualified expert 2x.
Yes, avoiding gun fights will be best case.
I can tell you aren't military because you call a magazine a "clip"
what is a 30 round clip?
@larryjanson4011 it's a gun that shoots 100 rounds in a half a second of 30 and a half round gun bullet clip round.
Each type of ammo, as in different makers, shoots to a different place. Mixing types means you need to resight in your gun when you change types.
I keep 1k rounds min for all weapons and 5k rounds for the shtf weapons. Remember loaded mags are just as important. No i don't care who knows because I'm not worried 😂
Hornady black is my go to for defense.. that's a nasty round .
Yes it is.
As much as you can safely store at home. So, a shit ton.
So since ammo technically has a shelf life do you cycle out ammo as you buy it?
Shelf Live? There are people shooting 50 plus year old ammo. Shelf life depends on how well it is cared for and stored. Vacuum sealing helps a lot and climate control.
Totally Agree!
After Trump won the presidency ammo prices dropped back to reasonable prices I bought 15 boxes of 45 ACP Blazer ammo for 150 dollars from a person at the flea market, later when ammo prices skyrocketed during Covid I was at the shooting range shooting my 1911 and the guys next to me were amazed that I could afford to be using 45 ACP and even had any, because finding any ammo in certain calibers was almost impossible ,mainly handgun ammo and really expensive, I think ammo makes good barter, During ammo shortages I could take that 10 dollar box of 45 ACP and sell it to a gun shop for 2 or 3 times my original purchase price, So to me ammo is like buying stock, when the market tanks and prices are low , stock up, even if you don't plan on selling it, you will need it later for range shooting and saves you money to buy it at the low price, I was looking at my ammo stash the other day and thought maybe I'm going overboard here, but then it passed.
Maybe if we can get some stability in society for a few years and politicians stop infringing on our 2nd Amendment rights just maybe prices will come down a little bit. But I don’t see any stability in society anytime soon, ever since 2020 it’s been spinning faster and faster and getting out of control. I hate paying the higher prices but it’s an evil necessity right now because I don’t want to wait on the price dip or politicians do something to disrupt the ammo supply chain or even ban a certain ammo caliber. It’s a lot of uncertainties today and going forward.
No amount is enough. Because it will end eventually. When it is over, we will return with stones, sticks, arrows, bows, swords and knives.
Agreed.
Depends on the objective. Defending one location then all you can get will do. If planning to move then you only need what you can carry. Stockpiling is funny imo as you likely wont be able to hold the ground youve stockpiled on in a shtf situation.
I live pretty remotely here in the mountains, in my neck of the woods there are 8 families in a small radius, we would stand our ground pretty well. 😀
it's not always about stockpiling. ammo prices fluctuate and it's better to buy low than when it sky rockets or is totally unavailable.
How you gonna pack all that ammo
No, where we live fortified our house is best case.
That’s exactly what I did for several years and built up a good amount too !!

Yeah at time open tip or even soft point 5.56 is hard to find but FMJ will get the job done.
@@Georgia4Low that was a thought I had about your stash. I have defensive rounds but because of how I have just been buying recently, but keep a lot more FMJ that would have to be used as defensive rounds if SHTF
FMJ works well for defensive rounds, biggest liability is over penetration but I believe lots of that goes away once the lights go out, heck lots of people hunt wild hogs with FMJ 5.56.
These are rookie numbers in this racket, you need to pump those numbers up
Buy weekly so these numbers are up up and away
I love watching these videos where people think you will stay ALIVE if you need to shoot thousands of rounds 😂. Any military power is 1000x more equipped so you will be lucky to empty one mag before your deleted. IF the world ends, the last thing you want is to pop off rounds for “training”, you will be hiding to survive and will only fire if you have absolutely no other choice. Again, you won’t need thousands of rounds. Remember every bullet fired back and forth you got a 50% chance of surviving. Spend your money on other life essential supplies or if you’re lucky enough a bunker……just watch what the wealthy people are doing.
the wealthy are hiding behind walls with armed security!!
One can NEVER have enough ammo
😈
I feel the same way.
Did you drill a hole in the side somewhere to run all that cord in there to power stuff?
There was a factory drilled hole in the steel, I had to finish drilling it through the interior wall.
SKILL wiith the guns, shots fired NOW, in practical training, are what matters. There's been times when all I shot was airsoft and .177 lead pellets and I'd still always place in the top 10% at state and regional combat pistol and rflle matches. I haven't trained my strong side rifle stuff in decades. I only train the weak side, cause train or not, my strong side rifle hits dont get faster or slower. If you train ENOUGH, the practical stuff just stays with you. Beyond 20 ft, youll miss a lot with a pistol, when it's for real. Ditto the rifle, beyond 50m, because guys will be dodging, going prone, using smoke, darkness , cover. You dont need to practice realistic sniper stuff (ie, inside 1/4mile. Longer range stuff is completely unnecessary if you know how to be stealthy. When you're not making noise, not out and about in daylight, and your hunk of woods looks like any other, why would anyone stay there and continue to take casualties, hmm? You can't have above-ground, "findable' stuff, for at least a year, post shtf.
Great info, thanks man
Buy a box of ammo every payday. Invest in ammo just like you do with stocks dollar cost average (DCA). Like he said many people have bills to pay. Make consistent regular purchases of ammo in a manner that does not hurt your ability to pay bills.

The answer is to that question is.
How can you possibly have to much ammo.
Im a fan of keeping at. Ah almost had me. Goes back to Rule number 1. Don't tell how much ammo you have.
I've spent years working up getting what guns an ammo i have now.
The hardest part is storage.
What are your thoughts on reloading ammo? Is it worth the expense of equipment, etc?
I think given the cost of equipment and reloading supplies it's not worth it for me. There is a reason for the calibers I use, they are the most popular calibers found today. Reloading to me would a great hobby or if I had really hard to find calibers.
If you have the time to reload, and 1,500 for supplies and equipment you can make ammo cheaper. The more calibers you shoot and reload the faster you can pay off the equipment. But it requires time and space.
Do you shoot over two thousand rounds of centerfire a year as a family? You can possibly pay off your equipment in under four years. My wife and I shoot between two and eight thousand rounds a year.
Do you have space for the tools and supplies.
100 rounds can easily take an hour and a half to three hours. This includes set up, making ammo and cleanup. Three hours is when you first start, when you get good at it, an hour and a half. This is with a less expensive single stage press. I recently made 470 rounds of 9mm it took me three evenings at the bench to complete it. Material cost was 90 bucks with current prices. Because of my stockpile of components it was 70 bucks.
It is not recommended if you are a flake, can't pay attention to detail, take short cuts, are easily distracted, can't keep good records or have to look at your phone every few minutes.
Reloading equipment and supplies do not belong in the garage. They belong in a clean temperature controlled environment. They have to be kept clean. You need a sturdy bench and good lighting. This may be part of your initial investment. A plastic folding table is not good for reloading.
I've paid off my equipment by reloading 9mm, 5.56/223, 380, and have separate equipment for 20 gauge and 410 bore shotshells.
And without a specific Federal Firearms License you cannot sell your reloads.
Final note, shipping on powder and primers has a surcharge. It is best to buy them locally. I have 5 stores within an hour that sell them, so not a problem for me.
50cal can is 2,200 rounds of 9mm and 5.56/.223 will fit around 1,200 loose. 30 cal can is 1,200 9mm and around 600 rounds of 5.56/.223. I personally use the 50 cals for storage like yourself and .30 cal can for range use ammo.
I got 1600 223 in a 50 cal can...2 rows of 800 in the boxes...tight fit !
yes I like the bigger 50cal cans for sure. soon I'll need another storage solution for ammo, it's out growing it's current space.
Lot's of ammo?
Good.
However as the late great Mike Vanderboeg said,,,,,
BANDOLEERS! If you can't load all the ammo in mags(who can?)then you must load up with bandoleers.
Love a good ole bandoleer
i have enough ammo for my himars for edc and icbm for home defense
Finally, someone who is actually prepared! My favorite are thermobaric RPG rounds :)
But no one thinks of the finger splints and wrist braces you're gonna need, and heat packs for your shoulder. That is a lot of sho0tin'.
Does ammo have a shelf life if stored properly?
If properly stored, sealed, no moisture, and climate controlled like your house it basically will last forever.
Buy more ammo! Buy as much ammo in as many calibers as you require, and include it into your safe space. For every gun safe, have a similar-sized ammo safe!
Have a stocked backup safe space as well if possible.
Magazines! Have at least five mags per semi-auto rifle, three- to five for each semi-auto pistol. Bandoliers and stripper clips/adapters as well.
Don't forget to invest in a reloading press/dies/powders/bullets/primers.
thanks for sharing these tips.
Can you come out reloading? If I buy 62 gr green tips at say 48 cents/ round how much cheaper can I reload?
In my opinion I would reload hard to find calibers, very unique calibers, or specialized loads, etc. For common calibers today reloading likely not a benefit.
@@Georgia4Low so 6.5 Grendel and 6.5 Creedmore ? That’s as uncommon as I have at this point .
6.5CM is becoming more and more popular and seems readily available from any store. 6.5 Grendel is hard to find in stores near me.
Wow and here i am stalking bulk ammo waiting for price drops
Prices not going to drop,
That’s not enough
so true
There's no such thing as enough.
So true
Do you buy ammo from a local gun shop or online or something else?
Depends. Do you like the people at your local shop and prefer to support local cash sales? Or do you prefer the government knowing what you buy and when from large corporations who happily sell your information to 3rd parties?
online and local gun stores, just depends as I will troll the internet for ammo sales and if I find something I buy it. but mostly on Fridays I walk into a local store and buy.
I have over 60,000 rounds... its not enough
Dang!! Save some for us! lol

Thank You
WHY do people love showing off their gun safe what a bumdass move .
And why’s that? no personal data shared and all firearms bought legally through an FFL so big brother knows what I have already
ya I can't use safe's because the bank will not lend me theirs. that was the only one big enough.
🤣🤣 awesome man!!
Do you dump your ammo into the cans or keep them boxed?
If it all the same gain/brand it’s a dump into the cans.
If you keep it in the box. (which I like to for the listed data)
Use desiccant. The cardboard can retain moisture esp in humid environments.
Yes I use desiccant bags.
I stop weekly at my LGS for a box or two
Thanks for watching
You couldn't afford that much ammo !
Facts
My rules:
1) Every firearm that feeds from a detachable magazine requires a minimum of ten magazines.
2) Those ten magazines need to be loaded with ammunition to fulfill the task for which the weapon is intended(defense, big game hunting, varmint... not training ammo) that has been thoroughly function-tested in that firearm.
3) Every centerfire pistol requires a full .50BMG ammo can of purpose ammunition. Every centerfire rifle and shotgun requires two. Every three rimfire guns share one of the same cans.
Once that good ammunition has been function-tested and optics have been zeroed on it, it's considered done. Everything else is cheaper training ammunition, and I'll keep as much of that around as I can.
I really like your plan or rules. Thanks
@@Georgia4Low Organization is key. It's really easy(and exciting!) to just start stockpiling stuff, but keeping an inventory with a specific goal in mind, keeping it organized, and keeping it from taking over the house is important.
The other things I really focus on are safety and simplicity. I've streamlined all my guns for training purposes. As an example, all my ARs are built with the same grips, the same charging handles, the same safety switches, the same mag releases, etc., so that everything feels the same regardless of whether it's a short-barrel CQB rifle or a longer-range precision gun. I kept the 5.56 uppers, but have replaced my short stuff with .300BLK and my long-reach with 6mm ARC, and colour-coded my loaded mags(green for 6mm, black for .300 subsonic, FDE for supers). Since a .300BLK bolt won't fire a 6mm round and vice-versa, I don't have to worry about loading the wrong stuff into a rifle in a high-stress situation, and my wife can load specific coloured magazines with specific ammo from specific boxes. There was a guy on our range that landed himself in the hospital after trying to fire .300BLK through a 5.56 upper, and I don't want to experience that firsthand. So I now keep my 5.56 ammo strictly in cases, not loaded magazines, in a different safe than my .300BLK stuff.
Keep it simple, keep it organized, keep it as idiot-proof as possible.
You don’t keep your ammo airtight my brother?
Ammo cans do that. Loose ammo in the safe is what we will shoot. But thinking about starting to use a vacuum sealer for loose ammo too.
@@Georgia4Low yea I’m very paranoid when it comes to preserving my ammo so I don’t keep it in the safe on boxes so I was hoping you had some insight only ammo I keep out on the safe is the one in the actual fire arms I even have mag airtight crates just to be safe
Vacuum sealing works great. My safe is in our climate controlled home so that helps.
Must not train enough then. Lol 😂
We shot often and a lot times stop by the local store and buy a few hundred rounds to take with us.
Still not enough and sitting on the bench don’t count. 😉
Work in progress, I buy every week.
Well here is your gold sicker ⭐️ good job man stay frosty 🥶
no 22lr??? like it but i dont have the space, and now i only have a 5.56 bolt gun and 308 bolt gun with a single shot 12 gauge and 22lr (good stuff) with my lever guns in my pistol caliber 357/38 and 44mag/44 special. I sold most other but still have a 9mm glock 19 just if in case and a old 1911. thats about it these days
I’ve added more .22LR since this video. I only keep a .22 rifle bolt action for same game.
Sucks I live in IL. I own a bolt action and a Revolver. Got loads of 6.5 and 357 mag loads. My buddy tried to get himself an AR. Nope not allowed.
Yeah that does suck for sure! What about tactical 12ga shot guns?
@@Georgia4Low semiautomatic aren’t allowed. Just pump action and anything less than 15 rounds or it could be 10. Such backward ass laws in this state.
Damn that does suck super bad. I’ll at least have a pump action 12 ga.
1000 rounds per hand gun calibre per year.
