Love the 360 camera! I ride Spadina often and it's one of my least my favourite streets to bike on. The lanes are too wide so cars are able to pass you without moving over to the other lane and often pass too closely. I think the street could easily add a proper bike lane without any reduction in traffic lanes by narrowing them a bit.
Thanks for sharing your experience. I think Spadina is scary on a weekday and avoid it whenever possible. I think it would absolutely benefit from protected bike lanes and you're right - there's space there!
I would only feel truly safe on a separate lane for bikes. I ride on a quiet country road where there are no bike lanes or sharrows at all but I have two lights on the back and two lights on the front of my bike. At least trying to be well seen. I also wear helmet, gloves and knee pads If I go off the road I might end up falling down a steep incline into a forest below. It took me quite awhile to screw up the nerve to even ride on this road. A big thank you for this TO update.
I think may people would feel safer if this road has a separated cycle track. Unfortunately our Ontario Premier has plans to not allow separated bike lanes that may affect car lanes. Separated infrastructure is always best.
I didn't know they were called sharows. There is a lot of that here in New England. Oh and yes I would feel comfortable riding there. Not because it's great but because I'm used to busy roads. Ride Boston some time.
Very cool video Agnieszka! Very neat to be able to move it around while watching and see different directions! To answer your question, I don't think I would feel safe riding in Toronto. Most of the places where I ride are very quiet, and we avoid busy roads, and having to ride in places like cities, as much as possible. We rode right through the middle of Kingston this past June, and did not enjoy that lol! It was better in the sections of the city that had some sort of bike lanes, but even then you were just separated from cars by a painted line.
Thank you for watching and for the comment, Josie. On a weekday, I wouldn't ride on Spadina as I would feel very intimidated by all the traffic. It's tough riding without safe, separated infrastructure, especially so for people who are not used to the amount of traffic on day to day basis.
@@WheelsonaBike For sure! I mean, I wouldn't expect them to build separated bike lanes on every street, but in some of the really busy areas it sure would be nice and much safer!
Are you comfortable with people viewing you whenever they want? I don't think i would but pretty cool to view around. Just looks blurry but probably my phone problem
Be careful when you are passing parked cars. My friend had someone open their car door to exit just as he was passing it, and he slammed into the door. 🥴
Thank you. Yes, dooring is an issue in Toronto as well. I hope your friend recovered well following the incident, it must have been a traumatizing one.
Wonderful! Thank you for posting
Thank you for watching.
360video is so cool
This was really cool would be awesome in a group ride.
Yes it would, but maybe mounted on a selfie stick.

Nice view of an urban ride in Canada! Thanks for posting ... and I love that 360 thing!
Thank you for watching!
Amazing 360
Glad you liked it.

I didn’t know i could pan a 360 recorded video. Now I know 🙂. I wouldn’t be comfortable riding on a sharrow myself.
Happy to have some news! À bientôt 🚴

Thanks for watching and for sharing. I think it all depends on what you're used to. If you're used to busy roads, then Spadina would be just "normal".

360 and I can control. What will they think of next ? 😀 I bet it would be a lot more interesting away from cities and into nature. Thanks for sharing.
There's a motorcycle traveler, Itchy Boots, and she has these immersive Video experiences of her travels. So the possibilities are endless.

You have to watch at 4k resolution, then the video looks watchable.
@@WheelsonaBike oh ok would have to be computer.
@BIKESnSKILLETS Not necessarily. You can change quality to a higher resolution on the phone as well.

That would deter me from biking on busy streets
