I'm also happy that you started your journey from rural, small areas, not in Moscow or St. Petersburg. I find it extremely helpful for the understanding of a country, as I am myself from a small town. I hope you are going to have a great trip!
There are many large and beautiful cities besides Moscow and St. Petersburg. The problem with small towns is that they are dying out as people leave there for bigger cities, so there is reluctance to invest there and little investment flow. If a small town is not a transportation hub or does not have a good industry, it is likely to die out.
I know there's more, but for tourists is usually those two. It is not like little investment happens because people are leaving, it's people leaving because there's little investment. Small towns are dying because all money goes to Moscow. Even things produced in the region cost too much for salaries in the same region. And tourists from other countries should see those dying towns and villages. Because this is how the majority of people live and this is where our culture preserved

Your video proves that even in our troubled world today, mostly people are just trying to live their life in their own bubbles of survival and that although language can be a barrier - with the help of media tools it can be crossed. I found in Shenzen and Chengdu, a couple of weeks ago translate apps were used to almost hold conversations. This video is an interesting insight into a part of Russia no one hears much about in the news. The map of the Siberian Railway gives an indication just how far east it runs. Looking forward to the next instalment.

Thank you dearly Yan , for brightening up my weekend here in Scotland on a cold Autumnal ,grey day with another superb video installment...and I'm not talking about the colour of the buildings , although they are stunningly vibrant to observe ! To think that I and others can be part of something , in an instant , thousands of miles away by tapping a tablet screen ..just blows my mind ...you have to love modern technology ? Please keep on entertaining us with your wonderful stories and please have safe journeys ...best wishes .

She was definitely not expecting saying hello to be so complicated lol.
Yes Zdravstvuytje is difficult Lol indeed, but most Russians simplify it up to Drah-too-tee (it's a dirty secret dont' tell anyone)

the easy way is "privet!" but that is greeting between friends, less formal way, the meaning of hello in russia is actually for your good health.
@@AdiSuffian LOL at 9:37 receptionist spoke «privet» to the guest. It looks so funny. As it’s very informal
@@user-ubq those Chinese in Suifenghe or near Russia border knows a bit of Russian for sure. I've been to Suifenghe, Hunchun, and Manzhouli

This is an interesting video. Thank you. Can't wait for your next one. Have a good weekend and stay safe.
Great video once again! I must sympathize with your struggles in Russian 😄. I also had a hard time with the language when I traveled around in Armenia and Azerbaijan, even though my native language is close to Russian. Thankfully, people in Russia and post-soviet countries are friendly and hospitable. Enjoy the Far East!
Suifenhe is an interesting city, the place looks clean and peaceful. Thank you for sharing your wonderful video , and enjoy your visit to Russia.

Yan is the best travel guide on UA-cam, China is the most intriguing and beautiful country to see, and Yan helps us get to know China better, and Chinese people.
Hi Yan another great video giving us armchair travellers a rare chance to see places and people we would never have seen you are one gutsy young women to take on a trip alone .Stay safe and i look forward to your next video Alec.
somehow that makes me happy! So nice to see people united and sharing things, I love this
Your video proves that even in our troubled world today, mostly people are just trying to live their life in their own bubbles of survival and that although language can be a barrier - with the help of media tools it can be crossed.
I love your videos. Thanks for the tours and recommendations. Greetings from Okinawa.
That's some courageous travelling. Keep going ✌️
